Wow, wow, wow! The Women's Club of Glen Ridge was the best venue! The reception hall and outdoor spaces are absolutely stunning and require little additional decor to make them shine.
We planned our wedding from across the country, and never saw the venue in person until 30 days before our wedding, but the manager of the venue and her team were so accommodating with video walkthroughs with our family and zoom consultations to make sure we had everything in place.
Not only did the venue provide us with tables and chairs, but the building manager (Luis) was onsite and there for our every need on the day of our rehearsal and our wedding day. When rain threatened our outdoor ceremony, they easily helped us pivot to hold our Nigerian Ceremony inside and still set up for an outdoor ceremony later in the day. Absolutely amazing! I would book this venue over and over again and would recommend to any Northern NJ Brides!
The Women’s Club was an amazing venue for our wedding! They really allow you to make the space your own and Elizabeth and Linda are great people to work with. It is beautifully maintained and has a colonial charm that really captured the eye of our guests! They enabled us to have a personalized wedding in a beautiful space and was the farthest thing from cookie cutter. Would highly recommend this venue. Elizabeth was very responsive and always willing to answer any questions we had. Everything on the day went very smoothly.
We had our wedding on 3/12/22 at the Women's Club of Glen Ridge, and we couldn't be happier that we chose it for our reception! Elizabeth and the staff are all very helpful and easy to work with, and it's a great value for such a lovely, historic venue. There is so much space to work with and it photographs beautifully.
We had our wedding reception at the Women's Club of Glen Ridge in April '22 and could not have been happier with how everything turned out.
At the onset of our planning process we realized that the "everything-included" venues wouldn't fit our needs, so we were lucky to have found the Women's Club after learning one of my wife's cousins got married there in 2017. The venue itself is beautiful and historic and had plenty of room for us to have a cocktail hour, reception, and in our case, also a Chinese tea ceremony, in dedicated spaces throughout the Club. Elizabeth and her staff are top notch. They were professional, extremely responsive, understanding and flexible to our needs, and provided great advice and expertise on how to put on a wonderful reception.
We would definitely recommend the Women's Club to anyone in a similar situation as ours. We are the third couple in my family to get married there over the past 30 years, and we hope for many more to come!
So I chose this venue for our wedding originally because I thought it would be a way to have our event be more cost-efficient. It was impacted however due to covid, the start of it in 2020 because the venue required masks and we did not want to have that be a part of our wedding so we found an outdoor venue instead that worked out perfectly. I'm giving this venue such a low grade because we at the time left our money with the venue even though we switched to the outdoor place because we felt bad and knew businesses were struggling. We figured since we still liked the space, we would have an event eventually. I've tried three times to have an event and there was always some challenge - whether it was the recommended caterers not working out, a last minute covid rule that was communicated that changed everything - I really tried to make it work. To this day they still have my money and will not return it. My recommendation, especially if you think this will be more cost-efficient is choose an all-inclusive place, a place where they have staff, take care of everything which is MUCH more helpful in the end. Less stress and everything is taken care of in house by one team. I do not recommend doing an event here. As mentioned, they still have money that we left in good faith and will not return it.
What a hidden gem! At first glance from the outside, you would never think a small place like this would look amazing and beautiful on the inside. The place is way bigger and more beautiful than we expected! So many of our guests were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the venue is. We had the entire building to ourselves, and dealing with the Elizabeth who manages it was so easy. She was super nice, and was patient w/ the many many questions we had leading up to the wedding. She was organized and on top of everything. I would have another event here if I could!
The Woman’s club is one of prettiest venues, you almost don’t need any decorations. The layout is perfect for the bride and groom to get ready in separate rooms. There’s a balcony to that’s set up for the most amazing pictures and two huge rooms that are perfect for photos including a patio that’s picture perfect!
The venue is carry-in carry-out and we did spend two whole days decorating ourselves. All in all, 4 stars for this place
We couldn't be happier that we chose The Women's Club of Glen Ridge for our wedding reception. From start to finish, Elizabeth was amazing to work with and beyond helpful. She really helped our dreams turn into a reality for our wedding day.
The venue itself is so unique and you can really make it your own which separates it from most other North Jersey wedding venues. It is definitely more work than other venues since you need to bring in the caterer, decorations, etc...but at the end of your reception, you will realize that every bit of work and love you put into your day was so worth it. Your day is exactly how you want it to be.
If you are looking for a caterer to bring in, I strongly recommend Encore Catering. They know the space and did a FABULOUS job with our wedding. People are still raving about the food & service. Also, if you'd like to drape off the stage, we used Drape Kings and they were great as well.
My wedding day was a dream because of The Women's Club and Elizabeth's efforts. We couldn't be more thankful.
The Women's Club of Glen Ridge is an exceptional venue for a wedding. We held both our ceremony and reception here in September 2015 and could not have been happier with our choice. The club is beautiful without any embellishment needed, although they welcome you to decorate. Elizabeth, the manager (and her predecessor Suzanne), was very accommodating and punctual about helping us plan our date and the custodian Linda was also very helpful during our wedding weekend. The club provides tables and chairs for guests. We did rent folding chairs for the ceremony upstairs, but they have approximately 100 chairs you can use if you don't mind older chairs that don't match (you could always get chair covers too). We easily accommodated 140 guests for our wedding in the ballroom, with plenty of room to dance and hold a photobooth, dessert tables and two bars. If you want a non-traditional all-inclusive venue, the Women's Club is an exceptional choice. Hosting our wedding there allowed us to make a truly personal and intimate wedding.
First off- this place is gorgeous. All of our guests gushed at how beautiful the entire building was. They were very nice and accommodating. There are rules to follow since it is a historical building, but they are very easy to work with and will guide you along the way. You do need to bring mostly everything in- all the rentals (they do have tables and chairs. but we rented chairs) I fell in love with the Women's Club the minute I saw it, and it is truly a beautiful and unique place to have any event.
this venue was absolutely gorgeous. They were so easy to work with, and we had the entire building to ourselves which was exactly what we were looking for in a venue.
This place is very beautiful, and the manager, Suzanne, is really helpful. A few things to know if you're considering this place is that you'd need to provide proof of caterer and liquor insurance, and you'd also need to clean up(not extensively) when you're done.
I enjoyed having my wedding here, the neighborhood was lovely, and there's a church down the street, which I also used for the ceremony. The high school across the street from the hall also allowed us to use their parking lot for free. Lastly, I got my security deposit returned promptly. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone
great space for a large wedding, including large room with stage (which the band used to great advantage) and outdoor terrace adjoining library.
The hall was so elegant already so little needed to be done! Everything was absolutely wonderful!
I had a Renaissance wedding at the Women's Club of Glen Ridge. When trying to select a venue for my wedding, this facility stood out because of the beautiful, historic building. Also, the staff was very helpful throughout the planning process.
When determining how much of the facility I would need to use, the upstairs and downstairs were available for rental, although I only rented the downstairs, the larger of the two areas. The safety deposit needed to be paid in cash or check, but the remaining fees could have been paid by credit card. Since many people were still around as my rental period ended, I requested an extension of time, and the Women’s Club took that fee from the safety deposit.
My wedding was in early summer, so many of the flowers on the grounds were still in bloom. There was a small slate patio that could accommodate about 100 chairs, so I had an outdoor ceremony with other guests standing on the grass. My cocktail hour was in a small parlor they have on the first floor with patio access, so guests mingled between the patio and parlor. The reception was in the grand and beautiful ballroom. It had a stage, so my live Celtic band performed there. I had approximately 130 guests, but if you would like a dance floor, try to keep numbers around 150 or less. The facility has chairs and tables, although you may need to rent more tables depending on number of guests.
The bridal lounge on the first floor is nearby the first floor ladies room. Since this is an historic building, they do not need to meet ADA requirements. The stalls are small, and there really is not enough space for someone in a wheelchair (or a ball gown for that matter). Also, the only means of someone in a wheelchair to gain access to the interior of the building is via the patio entrance.
Since this facility does not cater, you will have to find a caterer they approve. Also, they do not have much in the way of kitchen space, so the caterer will need to have everything prepared for service. Any clean-up that the caterer does not take care of is your responsibility to ensure you receive your full safety deposit.
There are some features that I used that were not directly associated with the Women’s Club. First, at the corner of Bloomfield Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue, there is a small park with gazebo. I was able to rent the area from the town of Glen Ridge for wedding photos. Additionally, the Women’s Club does not have a parking lot. Since there was not enough on-street parking for all of my guests, I contacted the Glen Ridge Board of Education to ask for permission to use the high school parking lot directly across the street. Since my wedding was on a Sunday, they approved my request.
Overall, I feel this was a perfect location for my wedding day. I would recommend this venue to people that are looking for a good sized wedding in a unique and beautiful setting.
