unately, due to repeated breakdowns in communication and internal process, Wonder Valley booked over 90% of the resort rooms to another group on our wedding weekend without notifying us or giving us a realistic opportunity to reserve a room block. At the time of signing our contract in December 2024, we asked about reserving rooms and were told we could not do so until 2026 rates were released. We reiterated our interest in overnight accommodations multiple times, including in our onboarding questionnaire in January 2025. We also visited the venue in January 2025, where we again asked staff about reserving rooms for our guests and when accommodations would be available. We were told someone would follow up with us, but no follow-up occurred. When the 2026 room rates were eventually published, we were never notified. Nearly a year later, we were informed that almost the entire resort had already been booked by another party, leaving only two rooms and one house available for a wedding with approximately 175 guests. We were offered alternatives such as booking hotels in the Clovis area and hiring shuttle services, despite those hotels being approximately 45 minutes away. We were also asked to consider changing our wedding date. Neither option was reasonable given that on-site lodging was a primary reason we chose this venue and that our planning was already well underway. During these conversations, it was also mentioned that this type of situation has happened before, which was concerning. Although a breakdown in communication was acknowledged, we were told our venue deposit would only be refunded if the date could be rebooked. As of now, we have not received our deposit, and the matter remains unresolved. This experience has been deeply disappointing and stressful. We hope a fair resolution can still be reached, but we would strongly encourage future couples to get all lodging details secured immediately and in writing if accommodations are important to them.
