We absolutely LOVED having our wedding here! Dave was so helpful from setting up and planning to catering and giving us ideas for areas to take photos. The venue was beautiful and affordable for us; especially since I just graduated college, moved, and got married all in the same two months. I would 100% recommend this venue to anyone in this area!
This venue was amazing! It captured my vision for my wedding so well and everything went so smoothly, as the owner helped out with getting tables and chairs out, had linens we could use, and all we needed to do was remove trash and decorations!

Woodlands Receptions & Rentals is a wedding site with room for up to 300 guests, with 3,600 square feet of indoor space and plenty of outdoor space for your function. Bordered by rocky mountain ridges and rolling hills, it is ideal for "I dos" and love declarations. Once it's time for toasts, invite your guests to the covered patio where they can while away the hours mixing and mingling by the warmth of a fire pit. The main event hall makes way for all dinner parties. It features ample floor space for any furniture layout and dancing, as well as a full-service caterer's kitchen for the freshest food and drink, and a beautiful bar available to serve beer and wine. Camping sites and accommodations are also available for seamless on-site preparations and relaxing overnight stays for you and your guests.

We are a couple born and raised in South Dakota. Cara comes from a farm by Watertown and Dave comes from Mitchell. We met here in the Black Hills and have been married for over 30 years. We built our venue ourselves and help from our freinds. We wanted to preserve the open and forested space we enjoy so much. We love to meet new people and learn about all the different lives/experiences that bring them together.
