My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Wyndham on New Years Eve. We cannot say enough good things about Ashlyn, Tony, and the incredible staff that helped to make our wedding absolutely perfect! Ashlyn’s professionalism and attention to detail made this experience all the more positive. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but she made the process so much smoother and truly brought our vision to life. When we saw our ballroom, for the first time, it truly took our breath away! Our guests are still raving about the food and overall experience here! We would recommend this venue over and over to anyone considering!

The Wyndham Grand gave us the wedding of our dreams thanks to their amazing team! We had a 300 person wedding during a busy NYE weekend on Dec. 30th. Ashlyn was such a pleasure to work with!!! She is easily accessible, very detailed oriented, and most importantly such a fun person to work with! She truly made me feel like she cared as much as if it was her own wedding and was always excited to talk about our wedding! She was the BEST! She provided so many special touches for my husband and I that made the day extra special. The guests raved about the food and table service. I am celiac and Chef Gress made me a special meal with food that was safe for me to eat! They took extra cautions with all our guest's allergies. We can't say enough great things about the event staff at the Wyndham Grand. Another shout out to Smitty and "Sour" the amazing bell hops that took such special care of our 225 dozen cookies and our 75 guest bags! Perfect venue for a large wedding!!

We truly loved working with Ashley and Tony. This place was a wonderful venue and the staff was truly a blessing to work with. We unfortunately decided to cancel our big wedding last minute due to Covid and having to move our day multiple times and all the restrictions within the state of Pennsylvania so we didn't get to go through with the big day. However for the year and few months we did get to work with Ashley and Tony they were nothing more than extraordinary. Even with all the stress of covid early on, they were very informative and kept us in the loop as much as they could. We loved the food at our tasting and the hotel was doing multiple renovations to make the place looking fresh and up tp date. Highly recommend

Ashley Brown was my wedding coordinator along with Tony. Ashley helped with every step of the way and was always answering quick to any questions or concerns I had. The food was amazing and the staff was so polite.. Ashley went above and beyond any expectations! She made my wedding so wonderful and everything went so smoothly! I highly recommend the Wyndham!!

We got married back in our beloved hometown of Pittsburgh. There was NO other place for our reception venue than the Wyndham. Ashley Brown was AMAZING, to say the least. She took care of everything, right down to the little details. She has a calmness about her that took our stress away. Our reception was beautiful, simple and elegant, just what we wanted. The Wyndham truly was a picture perfect wedding venue. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of - we held our ceremony on the gateway lawn outside right next to the hotel, our cocktail hour was in the downstairs restaurant right next to the ceremony with floor length windows for people sitting inside and tables outside, and the King's Garden ballroom which sold us was breathtaking. The windows are huge and over look the point and three rivers and provide the best view of the sunset. All these different areas give it a different feel than your typical hotel wedding. But nothing beats the convenience of having all your guest stay in one place! We had the pleasure of working with Ashley the wedding coordinator - who is key in making everything perfect and so helpful, quickly responds to emails and makes sure you have everything you need for your big day! The girls and I got ready in the sky lounge which is on the top floor and is an added bonus of having the wedding here- it is spacious, we had food, mimosas, & a lot of fun getting ready here! Everyone also raved about the food - it was amazing and service was wonderful. We had the perfect day here and can't thank the Wyndham, Ashley, and staff enough!

We had an amazing wedding experience here. Ashley Brown was so easy and nice to work with. The whole process of wedding planning was made easy by everyone here. Great food, location, atmosphere overall. Our reception was in Kings Garden Ballroom which has floor to ceiling windows with awesome views of the Point. Highly recommend! We had our first dance during sunset and it was amazing.

We just held our daughter's wedding reception at the Wyndham Downtown. We could not have been happier , from the care to details, professionalism, dedication to clients' satisfaction, Ashley Barna was amazing. She is the wedding/ events manager and she is wonderful to work with. The hall was gorgeous , the food was delicious We can't say enough !!!!

Everything was perfect... really perfect! The Director of Weddings & Special Events, Ashley was so professional and had every detail under control! It made my daughter's day the wedding we all have always been dreaming about!! Highly recommend!!

I had my wedding ceremony and reception, as well as Sunday brunch in the Sky Lounge at the Wyndham and I cannot say enough good things about my experience. Ashley was INCREDIBLE! She answered all my questions within minutes. She was very easy to work with and listened to everything that we wanted. Her attention details shows through her work. Our wedding day was stress free and went by smoothly. All my guests were complementing the event space and the food... the food was incredible! The views from Kings Garden were stunning and impressed our guests. We high recommend Ashley and her team at the Wyndham for anyone else having a wedding!!

It was a pleasure working with Ashley, the wedding coordinator, and the staff at the Wyndham Grand. They made the wedding planning process much less stressful than it could have been. Everything was seamless. The food was excellent, the service was first-class and the venue was beautiful. We held our ceremony at the Ft. Pitt Block House across the street from the hotel in the park and Ashley from the hotel, coordinated all of the details. Having the outdoor option for the ceremony but also a backup option inside the hotel is a major reason we chose this venue. That and after meeting Ashley, we knew we were in great hands.

I had a vision of what I thought my perfect reception venue would look like and the moment I stepped into the King's Garden ballroom I immediately fell in love! I saw the potential of how gorgeous it would look alongside with the breathtaking view of the city in the background and I instantly knew this was the one. Not only did I find the perfect venue, but also the perfect wedding coordinator; Ashley Brown. There aren't enough thanks in the world I can give to Ashley for the work she puts into such a special day. She's extremely knowledgeable, caring and easy to work with. Everything she said she could make happen, not only happened but also exceeded my expectations. After a long 19 months of planning, our wedding day finally was here and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Everything was PERFECT! Upon the first look of the reception, I was overjoyed. The ballroom was breathtakingly stunning! Our food, cake and every appetizer we chose were extremely delicious and had people talking for days. I can't say enough nice things about the Wyndham, Ashley, and all the staff. I wish I could give the Wyndham more than 5/5 stars; and will definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for that perfect fairytale wedding!

My daughter was married this past weekend and it was absolutely AMAZING! Ashley Brown is such a delight to work with and she was so helpful with everything. I would not have changed a thing. The room was gorgeous. We looked at a few places, but this place just out-shined all the others and I was so glad we went with it. On a scale of 1-10, I would give Ashley a 15. I can't say enough about her, and there aren't enough adjectives to describe just how sweet and knowledgeable she is. You're the best!!

The Wyndham Grand was the perfect choice for our fall wedding. When I was looking for a venue I immediately fell in love with everything the Wyndham had to offer - The perfect location right in the heart of downtown, room accommodations for guests to avoid extra travel, and an unbeatable wedding package with so much included. With less than a year from our engagement to wedding day I was nervous I would not be able to plan everything in enough time, and get everything I wanted. These nerves were quickly calmed by the staff at the Wyndham. From start to finish they made the entire planning process a breeze. Ashley and Tony were absolutely incredible at what they do, and helped make sure our wedding day went exactly as we planned. Any call or e-mail I had was answered almost immediately, and with the utmost professionalism. Their expertise and experience shined through at every moment, and we knew they would make our wedding day happen just as we envisioned it. The number one thing our guests raved about was the food. At the tasting everything was beautifully presented, and more delicious with every bite. We were worried that when it came to doing this for a large number of people something would need to be sacrificed. This was not the case at all. The presentation was just as beautiful, and just as delicious as it was at the tasting. The food was hot and fresh, elegantly presented, and as many of our guests put it "the most impressive wedding/banquet food they had ever eaten". There was so many options and combinations to please every guest that we knew everyone was satisfied by the end of dinner. Our guests not only raved about the food, but also the service from the wait staff. The staff was attentive, friendly, and on top of all the guests' needs. Our guests felt they were taken care of all throughout the evening by the wait staff as well as the bar tenders giving them a fun and relaxing night to celebrate with us. Not only were the big things taken care of perfectly, but the amount of attention given to even the smallest details was amazing. Hearts drawn with icing on each plate of cake served, the curtains drawn just as the sun was setting so guests could see the city lights and sights just as they were sitting down for dinner, and best of all having time in the ballroom before any of our guests were welcomed in. I will never forget those few minutes alone with my husband to take in everything and see all the planning come together. As everyone had told me the wedding day passed so quickly. I am forever grateful to the Wyndham for arranging that moment for just the two of us to take in how beautifully they made everything come together. If I had to do it all again there is not a thing I would change, and would absolutely recommend the Wyndham for anyone looking for a city centered venue.

We originally did not want to have our reception at a hotel; however, after meeting with several venues and realizing how much work an a la carte wedding really would be, we buckled and met with Ashley Brown at the Wyndham. She won us over immediately. The Wyndham was a virtual one stop shop yet you had so many choices – from linens to food to space to bar. I actually had a mind boggling number of issues with vendors, and Ashley not only helped me through it, but also made sure the Wyndham went above and beyond to make my decisions easier. The food was the most talked about thing at our wedding. Your expectation is that the day of your tasting will be the very best that the food will get. I do not know how Chef did it, but it was even better the day of despite mass quantity production! Ashley is not only very responsive, which is hard to come by in the wedding industry, but she is also extremely straight forward and just gets sh!t done! I loved her candor and could not have planned my wedding without her. One look at me and she even knew if I needed a cocktail! The only downside to our entire Wyndham experience was the hotel reservations department. First off, we reserved the largest suites in the place to get ready, and they gave them away to someone else. We managed to get one of them back, but had to make other very inconvenient arrangements for the groom/groomsmen. At one point, my husband was even locked out of his room for an hour (which you will know is a precious amount of time on the day of your wedding), and engineering had to be called in to get him back into his room. We got an awesome rate on the rooms (basically our entire guest list was from out of town). However, the hotel block has a website that you can monitor, which never worked properly, and at one point, our guests were told that there were NO rooms in the ENTIRE hotel available….insane! Not even logical!! The last and probably worst issue was that my parents’ non-smoking room reeked like smoke. My mom requested that it be addressed or be given a new room while she was at the rehearsal dinner, but it never was. She suffers from severe migraines, and strong odors like cigarette smoke are a big trigger for her. She spent the first 3 hours of my wedding day nursing a severe headache. All that being said, I still gave the Wyndham 5 stars because of Ashley alone! Plus, let’s be honest it is a just plan beautiful location.

We recently had our wedding at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown. Everything from start to finish was amazing and turned out perfect. Ashley and her assistants were so easy to work with and so helpful. The food was delicious, and the service was very impressive. We have no complaints, and we have received compliment from every one of our guests. We would absolutely recommend it as a venue to anyone.

YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND WELL ASHLEY BROWN AND SOPHIE PADDOCK ARE THE BEST DUO AROUND! From December of 2014 to March 5, 2016 planning our dream wedding was nothing short of amazing!! These ladies TAKE YOU ON (when it is your turn) as if you are the only BRIDE & GROOM THAT Matter!!! Ashley is very efficient, knowledgable and TRULY MADE OUR VISION COME TO LIFE!! Endless amounts of time is spent planning and coordinating and when my husband and I walked into our venue WE WERE SPEECHLESS!! These ladies nailed everything! They Worked amazingly with all of our vendors! The tables were perfect , the set up of the bars and stations and DJ were on point all because of these ladies knowing what is going to look best!! They were visible to us all day during the day of our wedding! They made sure everything rolled out as smooth as possible! I had 382 guests and 40 bridal party members! The FOOD was delicious ( guest agree) , the service was fabulous and efficient and the STAFF at the WYNDHAM is what you call 5 star service and CLASS! Cocktail hour was beyond perfect, they flow of the meal was perfect and well supervised and my husband and I had a waiter and our beck and call to make sure we were happy!!! Words can not describe how OUTSTANDING ASHLEY AND SOPHIE ARE!!!! Every bride deserves to work with planners like these two and have the experience I did!!! Once you meet them you will just fall in LOVE!!! They are not just my wedding planners they are NOW OUR FAMILY!!!!

My husband and I knew right away after visiting the Wyndham that this was where we wanted to have our wedding reception. The room (Kings Garden 1,2 & 3) was spacious and had floor to ceiling windows with gorgeous views of Point State Park and Mount Washington. We couldn't pass that up! Additionally, Ashley was so energetic and made us feel like we would be taken care of to the best of her abilities. Over the course of the planning, she became less and less responsive, but we booked 14 months in advance so I wasn't too worried about a lot of the details until the couple weeks leading up to the wedding. However, these 2 weeks became very stressful as I felt as if we weren't a priority. The day of the wedding, the room was absolutely breathtaking! It was set up and decorated so beautifully that I was blown away and immediately reassured of why we chose the Wyndham. The wait staff was absolutely wonderful at keeping our dinner at a good pace and taking care of us and our guests. The food was delicious! I was told by many of our guests that it was the best food at a wedding they had ever had and I absolutely agree! We had an absolutely stunning wedding reception and I know that all of our guests enjoyed it! The room that we stayed in that night was amazing! However, the rooms in the block for our guests were very small...they're very nice, just small. Although I don't think they really need much space since they're really only in the room to sleep. The day after the wedding caused a bit more stress for us as the kitchen could not find our champagne flutes, they didn't know which charger plates were ours (we rented them separately and brought them to the Wyndham) and they didn't have the extra tier of cake that we paid for. We ended up getting all of our items, but it was ridiculous that we had to deal with any of that. All in all, our wedding truly was a dream come true and I am glad that we chose the Wyndham; however, it really shouldn't have been stressful as it was.

Ashley was amazing throughout our entire wedding planning process, even when it started getting very stressful. She remembered details about our days, and always answered emails very promptly. She was also able to give us a lot of options on different things we wanted. Our room was amazing, we got to choose our table cloth color and napkins and they made the room turn into something completely different. Everything I requested to be set up, was in the exact spot it was suppose to be. We had our own cocktail hour separate from the other wedding guests which was a nice way to relax and get ready for the reception. The room had all the food that the cocktail hour had, and our own drinks. Ashley was there in order to bring us down for introductions and ensured everything was taken care of. She also checked on us throughout the entire wedding process, along with my mom, which was an extra special touch. The food was also amazing, each guest told us how well the steak was cooked and delicious everything was. This was very important to us, and did not let us down. The only downsides are the one bartender was rude and started closing down the bar early, we had ten minutes left and I was given attitude when I tried to get one more drink, after how much money we paid, I do not think they should turn away anyone especially when the contract is still intact. Also, the manager that took over after Ashley was far from pleasant and left us with a few empty promises. I wouldn't let this steer you away from this vendor, but It was not a good ending to our long day to deal with him.

When my fiance (now wife) and I began looking around the Downtown Pittsburgh area for potential wedding venues, we were debating between a few different hotels and clubs. Once we came to the Wyndham, Ashley Barna, the coordinator, completely won us over with her personality, and what the location had to offer. Our engagement lasted a little over a year, and Ashley and Sophie were with us every step of the way, and made sure that all of our requests and wishes were considered and taken care of. We had our wedding on October 11th, 2014. The day turned out to be the greatest day of our lives. Ashley and Sophie were unbelievably helpful, and directed us at every point of the day. They were clearly experienced, and it was relieving that we did not have to worry about where to go and what to do. The location and the views made for fantastic photos. They have a variety of ballrooms, and there happened to be 3 other weddings the same exact day as us. At NO point in the day did we have any issues in crowd control, flow of traffic, or noise. This was one area we had slight concerns with, but it turned out wonderfully. Our guests commented on how great the servers were, as well as the food there. We even had one comment that our wedding was the single most beautiful wedding this guest has ever been to. A lot of that had to do with the service, the location, and the environment the Wyndham has to offer.

Our daughter was married on September 5, 2014. She and her husband chose The Wyndham because of the view that it offered and the overall appearance of the newly remodeled hotel. After meeting with Ashley Barna, Catering Sales Manager, our daughter knew that she wanted to plan her wedding with her. Ashley was great to work with. She always returned messages asap. Everything she promised turned to fact. The taste testing was outstanding and so elegant. But, I was a little skeptical when we were promised that everything would taste as delicious as it did at the tasting. However, that is exactly how it happened. The food was phenomenal! The appetizers were served hot and tasted wonderful. The 110 Filets were all served hot and cooked to perfection, along with the Grilled Salmon and Portabella Wellington. Everyone at the reception said that is one of the best meals they have ever had. The guests were very impressed by the venue, as well as the food. Everything turned out better than we could have imagined. Our daughter said that it truly was the wedding of her dreams. One that we did not want to end!
