As the owner of XoWyo, I want to take a moment to directly address some of the feedback on this page. First and foremost, I am deeply passionate about what we do and committed to delivering exceptional experiences for every couple who entrusts us with their special day.
I previously responded to every review here, addressing any concerns and thanking clients for their kind words. Unfortunately, The Knot has removed the ability for business owners to reply to reviews unless they pay for a listing on their platform. I find this practice disappointing and counterproductive—it feels like we’re being forced to pay to defend our reputation.
I encourage anyone with questions about our work or concerns based on reviews here to reach out to us directly. Transparency, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do at XoWyo. If you’re considering working with us, I’d love the chance to chat and show you why so many couples choose us to bring their vision to life.
Cara & her team are EVERYTHING! I have enjoyed every second of working with them! I feel like Cara & I are truly FRIENDS after this process! They are so wonderful and easy to work with! I would recommend them to anyone having a wedding ANYWHERE! Our Save The Dates and Invites are so incredibly beautiful! My phone was flooded with compliments for both my Save The Dates & Invites! From EVERYONE on our guest list - even grown men! I couldn't be happier with how things have turned out!
Our experience working with XOWYO was very poor. WE NEVER SAW AN ASSEMBLED INVITATION TO OUR OWN WEDDING. The owner Cara was nothing short of unprofessional and immature. In the end our wedding planner had to intervene as Cara stopped communication with us when we questioned late delivery and our invoice not matching what we received vs. paid.
XOWYO was hired in Mar. 2020 for save the dates, invitations, and day-of signage. Save the dates were very nice in the end. We had little back and forth during the design process where our feedback wasn’t being incorporated and they were delivered on time. Like many, we then chose to postpone our wedding a year. XOWYO accommodated the change for us and set the new timeline; the goal was to mail on July 12 2021.
Proof 1 was 2 business days late arriving from XOWYO to start. My wife and I work very long hours with little free time that overlaps, and our first response took 6 days. It included an EXTREMELY DETAILED file with our exact desired edits shown in illustrations and written explicitly. XOWYO took 15 business days to respond with Proof 2; it was missing several of our edits. Only one other time did we need an extra time to respond. After careful review of all our correspondence XOWYO was more than 20 business days delayed, we were less than 9. 32 of 40 invitations went in the Mail Aug. 4 and we were billed Aug. 11 before some guests had received their invitations.
At this point we weren’t placing blame on anyone, but we had questions. We simply wanted clarity on: 1) what had caused delays? 2) where is the rest of our product and how do we receive it? 3) Can XOWYO deliver the day of signage a week before our wedding? Our planner had to ask Cara because she stopped responding to us completely. Full disclosure we did not complete XOWYO’s invoice for the invites immediately because we did not receive what was on the invoice and wanted clarity. I take full responsibility for that and don’t mind the penalty incurred. Once paid, Cara responded. It was clear she was not going to cooperate and called us rude.
Our planner was then given a choice of 3 1-hour windows to pick up the remaining product at XOWYO’s office. A box held the remaining save the dates and unassembled invitations. Cleary stated on the paid invoice was Invitations (40), Vintage postage (40), Deposit Paid, Assembly and Mail service (2) and late fee. 32 invitations were mailed Aug 4, 8 were left unassembled and we never received the remaining vintage postage (8).
I inquired to Cara in Sept. prior to our wedding where the remaining Vintage postage was. No reply. I did the same in Oct. No reply. Our planner reached out to Cara in early Nov. and Cara admitted to blocking our emails saying "I am not going to put any more effort into them or deal with him until I return. He was an unresponsive jerk, and she was unresponsive as well. So they can wait until I return. And you can copy and paste that exactly.” Ironic. We’ve heard nothing.
When someone avoids a customer this badly and results to name calling, no one will win. We spoke to an advisor about the situation, and I assure the reader at no point was anything from us unprofessional or disrespectful. Firm? As warranted. We take responsibility for our short comings, even apologizing for delays along the way. Cara’s behavior shows a lack of integrity however. I’m certain she will be quick to reply here. I just hope this review helps raise awareness for potential clients.
Designs are amazing, beautiful and unique but working with Cara was not fun. While I appreciated the project management approach through the process, I didn't like the lack of assistance or compassion to help us get our products (when XOWyo were closed for the holiday). We received a $70. charge (equivalent to a half an hour of design charge) to take our small box of printed items (less than a half of mile) from their shop to our hotel. I was always taught to delight customers and they will refer others. I'm not delighted.
Cara and her team are AMAZING!!! They created the welcome party, rehearsal dinner and wedding invitations of my DREAMS! They were so efficient, kind and easy to work with (even with me being in Texas and them in Wyoming). They listened to my vision and made it into something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I have nothing but the best things to say about Cara and XOWYO! We mailed my invitations over the weekend and below are a few things people have said...
"Hands down one of the most beautiful invitations I’ve ever seen
Just checked my mail and OMG sara it’s GORG!!!!
YOUR INVITATION. BEST EVER
Your invitations are gorge - The details!!
Omg your invitations!!!! So beautiful 😍😍😍
Sara!! These are gorgeous!!
Most beautiful wedding invite EVER
the most beautiful invitation ever!!!!!!"
It is all due to Cara and her teams hard work! Lastly, we were getting married during the Covid-19 pandemic and Cara personally called me to check in, make sure I was doing okay, steps moving forward, and reassure me that everything would be okay. She went above and beyond for us and I HIGHLY recommend her and her team!
Cara and her staff made my son's wedding so special. She was so creative and responsive to our ideas and offered many of her own that made the event truly one of a kind. From designing the menu, program and place cards, to putting together the gift bags, to the nightly turn down notes so our guests never had a question about the weekend, to collecting the extra items to ship back to us for mementos, she executed everything we asked her with a smile and "can do" attitude. This is the team you need for your wedding in Jackson Hole!
I have never personally received so many compliments on invitations before working with Cara and her team! They were incredible when it came to being communicative and accommodating. They went above and beyond to personalize our invitations and I could not have been more impressed with their work!
We so appreciate that they customized our invites specifically to Colorado and they could not have come out more perfect! Most people texted me “rsvping” because they LOVED the postcards so much and wanted to keep them. One of a kind and truliy gives such a personal/intimate feel that we want for our wedding.
Thank you to your team!
Working with the xowyo team was mediocre at best. It seemed promising at first but as time went on things became so unorganized and last minute. Our invites we great because they were totally jackson themed, which we could only find at the stationary companies in town. We had initial invoices with certain items, which we assumed would be done as we requested, turns out our cocktail napkins were never ordered even though we put a deposit down on the initial invoice. We were also charged for reformatting, when I never received examples of how welcome bags should be formatted, even though it was apparently emailed to us. The only formatting examples we received were for the invites. Being that we were having a destination wedding I would’ve chosen someone more engaging and organized, I understand we weren’t the only clients but I wish we were given updated timelines to adhere to as to when things were expected to be submitted. We weren’t very impressed like with some of our other vendors who knocked our socks off. I would not recommend.
I do believe there are two sides to every story and everyone is entitled to an opinion but when the vendor is acting unprofessionally and bringing other vendors into it, that speaks volumes. I received a passive aggressive email from Cara this morning telling me that I should reflect inward about what I had written. Apparently all of my vendors had issues working with us as we were “scattered and unorganized” yet this is the first I’m hearing about it. I am absolutely stunned and appalled that someone who works in the wedding industry that is customer service oriented would behave in such a fashion. In regards to her timeline, you should print it and hang it up because it’s the only timeline you’ll get, you will not get reminders. We started working with xowyo in April and our apparent deadlines were in August, those are things we didn’t commit to memory. Being a destination bride it’s very difficult to keep track of everything via email and reminders are helpful. It also helps when vendors are timely, we didn’t get templates for stuff until Aug 12 past the deadlines you had outlined. Email works both ways and she missed a few email responses herself.
Cara is the best. We hit it off immediately and had the best time brainstorming together. I was all over the place creatively but had a really strong vision and she was so collaborative and then somehow made it all come to life seamlessly. I also just loved her as a person... by the time our wedding rolled around she felt like a dear friend. I'd highly recommend them to anyone!
Best team of people! I loved working with them and they were so creative and fun. My save the dates and invitations were so unique and were a perfect reflection of us as a couple. The gift bags were perfectly put together and delivered and all the extras were so cute and made our day even more special.
This team is exceptional! They are punctual, organized, creative, and so patient with my many ideas! I would absolutely recommend them!!
