Beware!!!! Yvonne Lefleur is a fraud, She made me believe I was ordering a custom made dress for my son's wedding. Took all my measurements said it was going to be made to fit me perfect. It was more expensive than I thought it would be but for custom made and free alterations I thought it would be worth it for such a special occasion. After 5 weeks, we scheduled a fitting for my custom made dress. I live over 2 1/2 hours away from New Orleans, but I assumed it would be perfect and worth the money spent. When I tried it on it looked like I was wearing a Navy Blue silk 3 piece trash bag, it was huge. I felt sick to my stomach. Yvonne herself was very pissy and rude the day of my 1st fitting. She didn't want my opinion are the input of my friends. Her alteration lady came in we pinned and pinned and tucked & hemmed with more pins. We agreed on what needed to be done. Left the dress for my FREE alteration. Scheduled yet another appt. for a fitting 2 weeks later. 2 darts were made in the top, the Jacket was NOT touched much less hemmed, she claims an inch doesn't make a difference for a perfect fit. the skirt was not touched because Yvonne decides how much she will pay her alteration lady so the minimal was done and not even close to fitting. This is terrible after the sale customer service. She was happy to receive her money on day 1 and she was so nice & friendly the 1st appt day . Not so much on the day of my fitting shes done she received her money and did not care. Walked into the fitting and fussed at me and my friends for having an opinion. Yvonne Lefleur relabels her clothing, Dresses from Dillard's that I've purchased from other designers have her name on them hanging in her store. She doesn't even do a good job of cutting the tags out and replacing them with her own designer label. That is even shotty work. My custom made dress had XXL on each item. I have never ever worn an Xx Large in my life. Now less than 2 weeks before my sons wedding I have to hire my own seamstress to fix my huge dress at my cost. My idea of custom made does not come in a particular size. She was very dishonest just to make a sale. I do not appreciate being played. I made a costly mistake, Please save your self added stress and shop elsewhere.
Walking into Yvonne LaFleur is like going back in time. The store is filled with beautiful pieces everywhere you turn. The wedding dress room was from a dream, with beautiful wedding dresses hanging from the ceiling and carousal. I had Katie as my stylist & when I left for the last time after picking my dress up, I felt so sad ending my time with her. The staff fulfilled all my wants and desires and turned me into the bride I had always dreamed of being. Out of all the stores I visited, I personally feel the quality of the dresses were best at Yvonne's, and the prices were not outrageous either. I loved the quality so much that I ended up purchasing all my accessories, my wedding night lingerie, and my rehearsal dinner dress from them. When you leave Yvonne's they ensure that you look like and absolute dream no matter the occasion. The staff in invested in you and take their time with you. Plus there's always champagne! I will be returning to Yvonne's for all my formal occasions or even to treat myself! I pray that Yvonne LaFleur is still open so I can go wedding dress shopping there with my future daughter or daughter-in-law.
Words cannot express how thankful I am to Mrs. Yvonne and her team for helping me select the perfect dress for my wedding. They did so much more than that, helping me decide how to wear my hair, what shawl to wear if it was cold, and even the jewelry to pair with the neckline. Mignon was especially helpful in getting me scheduled for my fittings around my work. The seamstress is so talented! My dress fit comfortably, and I didn’t have to keep pulling it up over the wedding and reception! I looked at a number of bridal salons, but Yvonne Lafleur’s stood out in terms of gown choice, personal touch, and value. I felt I had a personal styling team at YLF!
Such a beautiful salon! Everyone at Yvonne LaFleur was so nice and helpful when I was picking out my dress and getting fitted. They were great about answering my questions and scheduling my appointments. My dress was beautiful! I love it!
There is nowhere else like Yvonne lafleur! She has the most gorgeous, unique, classic dresses, and you just won’t find pieces like hers anywhere else. I wanted a very vintage, glamorous dress, and she had the PERFECT one for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and Mignon to get my dress.
Yvonne LaFleur is the best place to go if you are a small to medium size bride. I am 4' 11", and generally wear a size zero. Everywhere else in the city doesn't keep dresses below a size 8 in-store, which I understand is both an economic and equalizing choice. But all the same, I still had a very hard time imagining how I'd look in a dress that was a size 14. Yvonne LaFleur was the fifth store I visited, and I ended up getting the last one I tried on in the store. The dress was utterly perfect for me, and because the try-on dress was a size 4 or 6, I knew how I'd look on the big day. Carrying small sizes may not be terribly popular, but I was extremely grateful to Ms. LaFleur and her daughter Stella for helping me to pick out a dress that flattered my body, didn't overwhelm me, and didn't wash me out. My mother and mother-in-law also found beautiful dresses that made them look and feel young.
Walking into the store feels like stepping back in time to a classic New Orleans where small businesses and personal service were the norm. The service here is impeccable, the epitome of New Orleans southern hospitality. I never felt rushed, and the consultants listen to your wants and needs. Finally, alterations are complimentary, which makes the moderate prices a little easier to swallow. Unfortunately they don't do alterations on Saturdays, but they stay open until 8:00 pm on Thursday nights to accommodate those of us who have to work. Yvonne LaFleur may not be the place for everyone, but if you're a smaller girl or looking for something a bit unique yet still classic, Yvonne LaFleur could be your fairy godmother.
I loved every second of my experience with Yvonne LaFleur. They were so welcoming to me and the rest of my guests that accompanied me to try on dresses and were always great when I went back for my fittings. My dress was amazing and fit like a glove. I got compliments on it all night. Highly recommend!
I had a wonderful experience at Yvonne Lafleur! This was actually only the 3rd place I went to try on dresses. I went totally not expecting to say yes to the dress but I found a dress I just did not want to take off!! It was such a fun experience and they even gave us champagne after "I said yes to the dress"!! The whole experience was one every bride should have when picking out her wedding gown! Once the dress arrived I went back for a couple of alterations that were no charge! That was a huge plus too! I am very particular and their seamstress was excellent and did a fabulous job! I also got my beautiful cathedral veil here as well which was stunning.
If I could give less than one star, I would. The woman that owns this place is very unprofessional. We went there to choose my bridesmaids dresses and a sales associate helped us, and she was very nice, so I scheduled an appointment to come in to try on for wedding dresses.
Now, let me preface this by saying that I'm 5'2" and around a size 12 at Belk, Dillard's, Davids Bridal, and most other retail stores. In wedding dresses I size about an 18 due to my bust (36 G) and my butt (very large for my size). I told the lady that I wanted to at least try on because at other places I could try on a 12-14 unzipped and it wouldn't go over my hips but I could see what it would look like. I gave her my budget and we started walking around and looking at dresses. I asked prices and she would tell me, and they'd be within my range but she wouldn't even pull them if they weren't a size 20. My maid of honor and I had to ask repeatedly for her to pull dresses. Well, finally we get some for me to try on, and she insists on being the one to come in the changing room with me. We put a size 20 over my head and it's form fitted to the hips and goes on fine until we get to the hips, and there's tulle and everything else wadded up under the dress. She refuses to pull it out and pull the dress down. She said it was too small and that I didn't even need to try the rest of the dresses, and that the style dress I wanted wasn't right for me. I asked her what type girls she usually put in those dresses and she said oh, ones that don't flare out at the hips. And I said oh, so you're telling me this isn't a "style" thing, but a weight thing? And she was said she just wouldn't put me in that type of dress. She wasn't apologetic or anything. We left and swore we'd never come back. DON'T go here. This isn't the first horror story I've heard since then, either.
I ended up buying my wedding gown at Southern Bridal in Mandeville, and it was a size 16.
Despicable.
My wedding gown and veil were absolutely stunning! I felt like a real life princess. Mercedes was amazing in helping. I also got to meet their granddaughter Lillian. She is just so precious and an added plus when you're already stressed out. Yvonne was very sweet as well. I cannot speak to their alterations as I got mine done in Atlanta but I would totallly purchase from them again.
My dress was gorgeous and the women there was extremely helpful and supportive during my first shoppping visit. I sometimes felt like an afterthought at my fittings, but it is a busy store. I would definitely do it all over again, though.
My experience with Yvonne Lafleur was nothing less than exceptional and I am forever grateful to Yvonne, Stella and their entire staff for the care and TLC they provided me throughout my bridal journey! Yvonne Lafleur is an institution in the New Orleans area and in the country, dedicated to dressing ladies of multiple generations with the finest garments. I looked at a few bridal salons before heading over to Yvonne Lafleur to look for my bridal gown and although I saw many lovely gowns, nothing compared to the beauty of what Yvonne Lafleur had to offer. Yvonne and her team hand select every item they offer in their shop with a keen eye for what makes each unique woman beautiful. My wedding dress was spectacularly beautiful and was altered perfectly in every single way. I continue to get so many glowing remarks about how perfect a dress it was. And since I won't be needing any more wedding dresses, I will continue to enthusiastically endorse Yvonne Lafleur, Stella Walsh and their entire team with the highest level of praise to anyone in search of a bridal gown and bridal trousseau. I will also continue to shop with them for the most classic and lovely items for my wardrobe. Thank you so much to these lovely ladies for their TLC and kindness and for making me feel like I'm part of their lovely Yvonne Lafleur family!
My first ever dress appointment was here. My first impression was that bridal gowns were not the only priority for this shop (which may be important to some brides). I sent pictures of dresses that I love to the shop a week prior to my appointment so the stylist would know what I was expecting. However, I don't think that the stylists even looked at my dress inspiration photos. We walked around and pulled dresses that I thought I would like, then were escorted to a dressing room. PICTURES ARE NOT ALLOWED (they made that very clear). I didn't like this because I was not ready to purchase a dress and wanted to be able to take pictures to remember in detail what they looked like. While I was trying dresses on, my stylist was very pushy. Every time my mom or aunt made a comment that the stylist didn't like, she was rude. For example, I tried a lace dress and my aunt asked if it was itchy (it was a little) and the stylist freaked out about it. Then when I asked what designer or what the dress name was, the stylist said that she was not allowed to disclose that. That seemed really fishy to me and too secretive. Then when I told the stylist that I wasn't ready to purchase a dress, she began to say that brides should just buy the first dress they love because why not?! and also that she can't guaranteer that they will have the dress if I decide that I want one from their store. It came off almost threatening. Their dresses are beautiful but they are very flashy and vintage. Also dresses must be paid in full before ordering. On a positive note, alterations are free.
Horrible!!!! First off the owner is known for stealing her designs from other dress company and putting her name on them. I found my exact dress at another bridal store for $500 after I had paid $2000 for the same dress there. It was the same exact dress that was made by allure. No wonder they don't allow you to take pictures when trying dresses on. Once the dress came in I had to be fitted 5 times and the dress was altered 5 times because it was never altered correctly. And after the 5th time I took my dress even though it still didn't fit right. And also was told after I bought the dress that there was no way that style dress would actually fit me right and that they would have to change the dress to make it fit me. These people are horrible and stealers.
I got my wedding dress from Yvonne's. My initial experience was wonderful. I found the perfect dress. Yvonne's dresses are so beautiful and the way she displays them makes for an easy and visual experience. When my dress came in they had ordered a size that was way too big and I was very concerned it would not fit properly. The seamstress did a fabulous job and the dress fit perfectly after 2 fittings. I received so many compliments on my dress and I absolutely loved it! Yvonne was also so sweet, caring, and understanding throughout the whole process.
The staff was extremely helpful and patient while helping me find the wedding dress that was perfect for ME. The alterations (which were free, by the way!) were fantastic. They added lace cap-sleeves to my dress, and made it look like they BELONGED on the dress. They also helped me find dresses for my bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, etc. Overall, had a great experience at Yvonne LaFleur, and would highly recommend!
I went looking, just looking for my wedding dress. I was with my sisters and they were looking and started making me try on dresses. I ended up finding my dress, it was the last one I tried on and I said 'yes to the dress'. It was a meant to be moment. The staff and alterations department was great. The listen to you and are there to help and make you happy! I highly recommend coming here anytime but especially for wedding dress shopping. Yvonne is so sweet and lovely. Nothing but good words.
LOVED my dress. Was one of the last places I shopped, and I felt like they had the most unique selection. The only (small) downside was they do not allow pictures until a dress is purchased. However that turned out to be a blessing because after I left, for the next few weeks, the dress I ended up choosing later was the one I couldn't stop thinking about, even without being able to look at a picture! Yvonne was always at the store and helped out with some finer details for my veil and dress. Alterations were included in the price which was good, as it was on the expensive side (though it looked like its price reflected)! I also didn't like some of the veils they had, so they combined the features I liked into my perfect veil, and sewed on a piece of lace from my mothers dress. They also had a great selection of other party dresses and mother of the bride dresses.
Wow! I said yes to my dream dress this past Saturday. My experience at Yvonne was breathtaking. I went in ready and prepared to try on dresses. (Makeup and hair fixed....ready!!) It was a dream seeing the dresses beautifully hanging there from the top of the ceiling and not stuffed in bags. When we walked in we were greeted by Stella who took me to the back and took care of me the whole time. She asked what I liked and gave her opinions . She picked 5 or 6 dresses out for me and number 2 was the dress !!! I enjoyed having that one on one time with just me and my familyfamily. So lovely
I "had a feeling" about Yvonne LaFleur. That is why I scheduled my fitting at this shop first! I was very nervous and anxious about the process of selecting a wedding gown. Like many women, I am self conscious about my body and I really hate trying on clothing. When we arrived at the shop, we realized that I would be the only bride shopping in the bridal department during our appointment. Having this personalized attention and privacy really helped ease my anxiety and I was able to actually enjoy a very special experience. Yvonne's daughter, Stella, was our consultant for the appointment. Stella is a true professional--she knew everything about every dress. She is incredibly passionate about fashion and that was evident in her ability to place me in the PERFECT dress. A dress I would have never picked without Stella's expert guidance. It is so convenient that Yvonne LaFleur offers in-house alterations. I had two fittings, and the experienced seamstresses were able to achieve a fit that appeared to be a custom made gown. I recommended Yvonne LaFleur to my mother-in-law, for her rehearsal dinner and wedding dress, and my best friend immediately upon her engagement. Both women have also had excellent experiences with Yvonne LaFleur!
I went to Yvonne LaFleur to look for a wedding dress and had one of the most horrible and hurtful experiences of my entire life. First off when I made my appointment I made sure to tell the person I spoke to at the store that I was 4 months pregnant just so there wouldn't be any confusion. When I arrived no one knew who was supposed to help me and i had to sit around and wait. I was walked around the store looking at dresses and the saleslady kept remarking the size of every single dress I was interested in. The first thing she did was show me the dresses that DEFINITELY wouldn't fit me and while I agreed that they looked like dresses for tall thin girls, they weren't in the styleI showed her so I don't even know why it was brought up besides to shame and embarrass me. She was looking skeptical at everything I touched and constantly reminded me of "the size" or just decided that the dress wasn't going fit. She picked up a size 20 dress and 2 other dresses I liked from the front of the bridal shop. She grabbed NONE of the ones I said I liked from the back. The first dress I put on was the size 20 dress which even at 4 months pregnant seemed to swallow me. She came over and had to pin it to make it fit. While it was gorgeous, it still felt big my dad even remarked that it looked big. She CORRECTED HIM, pointed to my waist and said "the dress is actually too tight" and that I would have to order the size 20. I can assure you IT WAS NOT tight in the least, in fact I had to pull a sash from the wall and put it around me just to give myself a waist line. She then looked in the dressing room at the other two dresses hanging up and said "Ok have we tried on all the dresses?" I looked at her amazed considering I was wearing the very first dress we tried and said "this is the first dress I've put on." We get into the dressing room where she unpinned me we go to try on one of the other 2 dresses she brought in and she told me that neither would fit me and Id just have to put my arms through them and pretend.
WAIT WHAT? SO this store expected me to buy something that I can't even put on my body to imagine how it would fit? Even if I put it on and can't zip it? Am I not allowed to try on their precious dresses in fear that my fatness would rip them? Why is it that every other bridal salon I went to let me put dresses, even if they didn't, fit my attendant would follow me out holding the dress closed so that I could get an illusion at least of what the dress looks like on? I was appalled and offended and literally in disbelief. I told her that I was absolutely not just putting my arm through dresses that cost THOUSANDS of dollars in hopes that they would order one that would, hopefully, fit me and HOPEFULLY I'd like. I felt absolutely wretched, I was so hurt, and still couldn't believe that a store who charges so much wouldn't have sizes on the rack that accommodate someone larger than a size 12! If you're a size 14, 16, 18 or above they only have ONE wedding dress that you can actually try on.
i did notice that the saleslady excused herself from helping me and to start a fitting room for the skinny blonde girls who were buying short, informal wedding dresses that did NOT have an appointment. She also, rudely, kept pointing out the sale dresses to me. I had no budget for my dress so I guess they lost because I ended up spending $3000 on the one i bought. I will NEVER walk into Yvonne LaFleur again especially when I'm back in my normal size 8!
Loved Yvonne's!! They were so patient with me and I found the most fantastic different type of wedding gown ever that people are still raving about! Great experience!!!
I purchased my wedding dress at Yvonn Lafleur. My experience with them was wonderful. They cater to whatever your needs are and make you feel like a real princess. During my final fitting we realized that the dress did not fit as perfectly as we imagined. Without any hesitation they told me not to worry and had the dress ready just two days later. The dress was beautiful and elegant and, most importantly, comfortable. I continue to get complements on it. Yvonne does incredible work and I strongly recommend purchasing one of her many beautifully and meticulously made dresses.
Mrs Yvonne and her daughter, Stella could teach others how to treat their customers! They are experts in their field! These women know how to serve their customers! Skip the bridal salons and boutiques in town and visit them. You will find your dream dress. In fact, you will want to shop with them after your wedding. they are such wonderful people!
I can't believe the boutique of Yvonne LeFleur in the Riverbend neighborhood of New Orleans is not reviewed anywhere on TheKnot so far! This store is such a treasure - it was recommended to me by a coworker of mine who has a wonderful style and whose mother used to shop here. It is just a few blocks from my house and I honestly had not stepped in before - but now I had the chance. I would recommend making a visit here for ANYTHING if you are visiting New Orleans or of course if you live here - even just to browse - it is FULL of character, color, festivity, and suits everyone of all ages - SO New Orleans. I visited now that I had a very low key, intimate wedding to get ready for - I was going for very inexpensive, very non-wedding dress at first - and Annie helped me as soon as I walked in - she worked within my price point exactly and had me wearing a dress that she called "Pippa" - no explanation needed. I went back to try it on again and agreed to try on some of the BEAUTIFUL lace gowns they had - because deep down while I was trying to stay non-traditional, I did love lace vintage gowns and this store has them literally hanging from the rafters like clouds, such a wonderful experience! They have a darling antique dressing room and as much or as little attention as you'd like to have is available to you. Annie worked with me so wonderfully - I came on my own both times and she just built my confidence, my sense of style (I have none ha), and was the first person to make me so excited about everything. They had such UNIQUE dresses and they have the seamstress right there ready to show you how any dress could look perfect for you. They have such a range of styles, so much vintage, and price points also. The ONLY reason I did not end up purchasing there is because I went to my hometown in Jersey with my mom and we on a chance whim found a dress in a basement sample sale and having my mom with me made me get the "Jersey" dress. But I would have definitely purchased one that Annie picked out just for me. I can't wait to go back for everyday dresses for fun and for work, work clothes, jewelry, lingerie, perhaps a ball gown someday, a hat for the track, and I will always take my visiting girlfriends there just to go. Definitely don't miss this shop on your hunt!
I love this small boutique in uptown New Orleans. Good service & attention to detail. They provide free fittings and alterations for their dresses (I had 3 fittings! The seamstress' english wasn't great, but she really tried to communicate and get me what I wanted, and she was honest and fast with her alterations). It took 6 months for my dress to come in, so order it early!! I got a dress for $1400 ($1700 after tax & shipping) that looks comparable to $5k dresses in other stores - in other words, very high quality for the price. I loved my dress.
Several of my friends purchased a wedding dress from Yvonne La Fleur and suggested I look there for my dress. The service was great and the dresses were suspended from the ceiling so it was easy to see each one. The dresses are beautiful but they don't have a large selection of dresses or veils. They do offer to do free alterations but I have heard bad things about their alteration service,so I decided to have them done elsewhere. Overall, I loved the relaxed atmosphere because I am easily overwhelmed and the overall experience is great. Once you find your dress they do a champagne toast!
Very unique boutique!! Wonderful people and exceptional service!
I am a larger girl in the chest, so every bridesmaid, ball gown, specialty dress I get has to be massively altered to fit correctly. At Yvonne's, every dress they have is less than $2000 and alterations are FREE! Ask any woman who has had to get their wedding dress altered, this will save you hundreds! With that said, the dress I wanted was all lace with a specific neckline, but because of my chest size, I had to get a strapless dress for support. Yvonne's created the neckline I wanted and added it to the dress for FREE because it was alterations! All I had to do was buy the lace. They were so friendly and helpful. I ended up with a 1 of a kind dress that was exactly what I wanted.
It was just a dream to walk into her bridal shop! The first day I looked for a dress was the day I found it in this shop. Yvonne's own daughter helped me as I walked in, and I was the only person she talked to the entire time. I was treated like a princess, every girl's dream! They popped champagne when I said this was "the one" and even gave me a six pence to put in my shoe the day of the wedding! Impeccable Service!
Yvonne and her employees were absolutely wonderful. Very helpful and patient and the alterations were done very well. I got so many compliments on my wedding gown! It is definitely the prettiest wedding gown I've ever seen! Her store and her dresses are beautiful and the service there is great!
Thank you to Yvonne La Fleur, I found the perfect dress there for the perfect price. All of the dresses there are less than $2000 and alterations are included. My experience there was great and my dress was perfect.
I have shopped here for many years and always dreamed of the day I would be able to try on some of their fabulous wedding gowns! Stella helped me to pick the perfect dress! The staff at Ms. Yvonne's provides an enchanting shopping experience that is second to none! Champagne and a Sixpence included ; )
The dress I got from Yvonne La Fleur is GORGEOUS. The service was ok...Make sure you request the BIG bridal room for when you try on your dress. Apparently just making an appointment does not get you into that room. The staff is great! I think everyone in the store approached me and wanted to help with anything and everything. If you want good service and a good quality dress, GO HERE!
Wonderful experience picking out my dress, which I absolutely loved. Free alterations, too. The salespeople can be a little pushy, but I think that's to be expected in a boutique. Overall, great local experience.
extremely reasonable pricing. Seamstress was wonderful.
I had visited Town and Country before going to Yvonne La Fleur. The difference in service is not even measureable. Yvonne takes such good care of her customers. I was in the bridal section by myself with no other brides trying on the same dresses or watching me choose. The dresses were all hanging or on a manaquin so no dealing with tons of dresses shoved together and in plastic bags. Yvonne and her staff are exceptional. You will definitely receive first class service here! I received so many compliments on my dress and veil. I truly felt like the most beautiful girl because of the expertise of Yvonne and her staff.
I found my wedding dress at Yvonne La Fleur and I fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on. Stella, Yvonne's daughter, was the one helping me the day we purchased the dress and it was a lovely experience- my mom, dad, and best friend came with me to buy it and after trying it on one more time, we all had champagne in the store to celebrate. Stella took my measurements that evening and 6 months later, the dress arrived and I was asked to come in to get fitted. This was in August, and my wedding was not until January so I agreed to come in, but asked Yvonne if I could have a second fitting once it got closer to the wedding. She acted annoyed and said that they get very busy after the summer with events, Mardi Gras ball gowns, etc. and it was best for me to get all of my fittings in now. I reluctantly agreed and went to meet the seamstress the following week. When I put the dress on for the first time, I could tell right away that it was at least a size too big. The sample size in the store was a 2, and my dress was a 6. This was obvious to my mom and I, but Mary Jane, Yvonne's other daughter, and the seamstress acted like it was fine. When I showed them how much extra material there was around my hips and waist, the seamstress started speaking in Spanish and acted aggravated with me for wanting it taken in. They advertise "free" alterations but as most too good to be true deals go, it was. I stood there in a baggy wedding dress while the seamstress complained to Yvonne because the 7 layers of lace were not going to make this an easy alteration. I understood that, but they should have never gone up 2 sizes from the sample dress that was tight, but zipped and fit me in the store. After seeing the tension between Yvonne and the seamstress, she came back and told me that this lace material is very delicate and it would likely "shred" on my wedding day if they took it in. So, I could proceed and they would do the alterations, but she made it clear that it would not be their fault should my dress shred and fall apart on my wedding day! To make matters worse, Mary Jane then decided to tell me that she understands how I feel- "You think you are fat, but you're not" and that I have "Body Dysmorphic Disorder" all because I wanted to have my 1-2 size too big dress taken in to actually fit me. At this point, my mom and I had had enough. I'm 5'6", 118 pounds, and I do not think I am fat. We decided to just take the dress as is and ended up bringing it across the street to Vanda Couture. A few hundred dollars in alterations later, I had the dress I had originally fallen in love with- a trumpet style that fit perfectly. It is just a shame that Yvonne La Fleur has such a great selection of beautiful, well made dresses, but the customer service was so poor that I do not recommend doing business with them. I'm sure they all meant well, but the way this situation was handled was disturbing and completely unprofessional.
I spent three days searching for a wedding dress and eventually found my dress at Yvonne's. The dresses at Yvonne's were different than the rest of the bridal stores in the area...they just seemed more elegant and of better quality. Overall, the dress was amazing!! My only complaint has to do with alterations. I ended up having to go somewhere else to pay for alterations. The seamstress at Yvonne's told me that my dress was perfect; however, I ended up having to take 4 inches off the bottom and 3 inches at my waist.
We had tried several chain dress vendors with no success. The service, quality, and atmosphere of Yvonne LaFleur's boutique made the entire experience worthwhile, and I left with the dress of my dreams!
I purchased my wedding gown from Yvonne La Fleur’s, and it was absolutely perfect for me. I loved it as soon as I saw it! However, the service from the girls in the shop was a little off. The two girls who helped me to try on dresses at my initial appointment were really sweet, but they initially discouraged me from trying on the dress I ended up purchasing because it was in a really large size and they said I wouldn’t be able to get a good feel for it. I tried in on anyway, and with a lot of clips and a tightly knotted sash, I knew it was the right dress. Then, when I ordered it, they insisted that my measurements were the same size as the huge dress I had tried on. I said it seemed obvious that they weren’t, but they said it was right and that alterations would make it perfect. I didn’t argue, but called back a few days later to switch my order to one size smaller. The dress was still way too big (I probably should have ordered 3 or 4 sizes smaller than what they initially “measured” me as)! I was moving overseas and getting married in New England, so the shop shipped it to Massachusetts with no problems, and I paid a seamstress in MA hundreds of dollars to take it in. The cost of the dress was VERY reasonable, though, so I didn’t mind the alteration costs, and if I had the dress altered at Yvonne’s it would have been free, which for other brides is probably wonderful. When the dress was being fitted in MA, the seamstress also showed me how the dress was really supposed to fit, with wide shoulders and a slimmer silhouette, very unlike the way the girls at Yvonne’s pulled it tight on me with narrower shoulder straps and a ball-gown-like poof. I loved the way it looked anyway, but it would have been nice if the girls at Yvonne’s knew what they were doing and how the dress was supposed to fit. Overall, the dresses in there are gorgeous and affordable… you just might want to be careful with fitting!
The staff here is amazing. They are very quick to give out compliments. My wedding dress came out beautifully and was exactly what I wanted for my special day. The only complaint that I have is that they didn't even call me when my dress came in, I had to call them. That was a little disappointing but other than that they were fabulous!
There are a lot of dresses to choose from and they were beautiful. When we were there they were very attentive. But make an appointment because there is not a lot of staff. Dresses are a little more expensive but there are free alterations.
I love the way the store is set up. It is a lot easier to browse through dresses here because they hang from the ceiling instead of having to look through racks of dresses. They were very great in helping to pick out the perfect dress, which I did find there. After the wedding, however I was a little disappointed. I called to ask them a question about the fabric of the dress and was told they were really busy right now and they couldn't help. That definitey rubbed me the wrong way and I wouldn't go back or recommend them to others due to this. I feel that because I wasn't purchasing anything at the time, I was pushed to the side.
A wonderful shop, and wonderful experience. I loved my dress!
Ms Yvonne, Stella and their staff went above and beyond to ensure my dress had a perfect fit. On-site alterations (included in price) was so convenient...great job...fast...perfect! After I ordered my dress, I lost a lot of weight - 3 sizes. My dress was perfect. Stella's blusher veil was the perfect accent. This shoppe remembers what customer service is all about...they cannot do enough for you. They made me feel like I was the only bride on earth. I'm an older, larger women - they were honest in helping me find the dress of my dreams and guided me away from styles that were not appropriate. I'm hooked on Yvonne's for all my dress, clothes and accessories! You just can't go wrong!
Found the perfect dress. They were very nice to deal with. I enjoyed the experience. They listened to me and got me what I wanted.
i would reccomend this store bride to be's that want special individual attention and the dresses are FABOLOUS, however I wanted a certain style to fit my body shape.
This shop is perfect. Individualized attention given. Top of the line service and quality.
I was hesitant to go to Yvonne's at first because I thought it would be uppity, but it was not at all. The dresses are hanging from the ceiling, so you can really see everything without having to wrestle with them on racks. The service is really hard to beat - they listened to what I wanted and then picked the perfect dress for me. They do a great celebration when you buy the dress, and they have helped my mom and I with every little detail from then on. I think every bride should have a Yvonne experience - it is truly unbelievable and really hard to find in today's market. Their alterations were included and the seamstress that did them was great. My mom got her dress there as well, and she loved it. She doesn't dress up often, and they really made her look fabulous and she was so comfortable too. If you are buying a dress in New Orleans, you absolutely must go to Yvonne's. Oh, and they said right when we walked in that no dress was over $1500, so it's also not overpriced.
I absolutely loved my dress from Yvonne La Fleur. It got many many compliments. When you walk into the back to see the the dresses hanging from the ceiling--It is like being in a wedding Wonderland. The prices are extremely reasonable for the wedding dresses and veils in my opinion.
Jana was the consultant that I worked with when I picked my dress out and she was phenomenal. She made the experience enjoyable and knew her stuff. I never felt like I was being pushed to make a decision or being thrown into a dress arbitrarily. Advice: DO NOT go on the weekend. I went on a Tuesday morning and had the shop to myself. Although it is by appointment for subsequent visits, I would recommend requesting the same consultant throughout (if you like them). Otherwise, you get someone different every time. That to me is the only downside because having the same person streamlines the process. I had to call Jana into further appointments to help me with a few snafus that she was able to work out in an instant because she had established a great working relationship with my sister and me from day 1. My dress is something I will treasure for the rest of my life!
I loved Yvonne La Fleur. This wedding shop is lovely. They have a decent selection of wedding dresses. I know several people who have found their dress here. They have great customer service, but typically work by appointment only. I love this about the store because it was only you, the designer and an assistant in the shop. They are very personable. They are reasonably priced. The shop has other dresses for the Mother of the Bride/Groom, and everyday attire. I highly recommend you visit this shop while searching for your wedding gown.
