This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in customer service. Late was miserable to work with, made numerous mistakes, and then acted as if we owed her something. This company was recommended by our wedding planner, but after hearing of our awful experience, she will no longer be referring clients. This Kate girl has zero idea of how to run a business. And being so reckless and careless with such an important occasion is just ridiculous. Our groomsmen ended up doing without their bow ties because she just couldn’t get the order right. She was late showing up with the tuxes the day before. Most didn’t even fit, when she was the one that did the fittings herself. Her attitude was awful. She very clearly has no respect for her clients. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR.
Modern Gent: Atlanta, GA - As another reviewer stated, this vendor was our worst of all of our wedding vendors, by far. The communication was poor, to say the least. When we had our final fitting (2 days before the wedding), only 2/5 guys had everything they needed in the right sizes. One of the guys didn't have one single piece of clothing that fit. Not one, and Kate measured him herself. I completely understand that mistakes happen, but this amount of errors is carelessness, not honest mistakes. I passed on one style of suit specifically because it was single-button, which I shared with Kate. The suit she ordered me was, naturally, single-button. The shoes were by far the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life, even compared to other rentals. I told her we didn't want vests, and she ordered us vests. I told her I wanted a gray suit, and she planned to order blue until I corrected her. Kate is a nice person, but in spite of all the issues with clothing sizes, I honestly don't remember her saying 'sorry' once. She was very aloof and uninterested throughout.
Terrible communications. We started off good on the same page and it went downhill from there. My brother-in-law had to meet her 3 times ON MY WEDDING DAY to get the proper tux for one of my ushers. The shoes were horrible and not what we were shown. In the end we still did not have the correct suits that we originally picked out. The groom wanted a 2 button jacket, not one. Not that demanding of a detail, right? She was horrible to communicate with and caused so much more stress than was necessary. I'd go with anyone but this company!
As with another reviewer, we had an absolutely horrible experience with Kate and The Modern Gent. Kate's customer service and general demeanor was terrible (i.e., probably one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, related or unrelated to a wedding). This company does not deserve to be in business.
We ordered 11 tuxedos-- me (the groom), 7 groomsmen, 2 ushers, father of the bride, and my step son. On the day before the wedding, she arrived for the "tuxedo fitting." She ordered the wrong color for the father of the bride, and was COMPLETELY MISSING four tuxedos. She didn't even apologize, and offered no clear solution. Rather than fit the best man (one of the four missing tuxes), she just gave him my father-in-law's tuxedo saying "it was close enough." The next day, she brought the correct tuxedos but I always had to contact her first to check on status. It was literally non-existent communication from Kate. Our groomsmen had to cancel brunch so we could wait for her on our wedding day. She arrived around 11:15 AM, and only informed us of her arrival time after 9:30 AM.
I don't mind honest mistakes. But she did not even seem to acknowledge that mistakes were made, offer any resolution, offer an apology, or thank us for her business after the fact. Her attitude was noticed by almost everyone in my wedding party.
If everything works out, then people seem to think the Modern Gent was satisfactory. However, if there ANY issues, don't expect help from Kate. She was very unpleasant to work with. We would never recommend her to anyone.
If i could give zero stars, I would. Worst vendor we had to deal with at our wedding, by far. This Kate girl was flaky from the first moment we contacted her. The day of the wedding, she forgot the. ow ties for the tuxes. When she finally showed up with them, they were the wrong ones. Instead of apologizing and offering to make it right, she actually argued with my fiancé. She is incredibly unprofessional and I will make sure everyone in Atlanta knows it. She had me literally crying just an hour before my ceremony. Horrible experience that we won't soon forget.
We loved working with Kate. She is highly professional and dressed the guys to a T. I am very happy with how it all turned out.
Kate is Great! My husband was so handsome on our wedding day. She is very professional, and fun to be around!
