Zen - an elegant space for hire

I'm am so thrilled my husband and I decided to have our wedding ceremony and reception at Zen in downtown Greenville! We toured 5-6 other locations in Greenville and 4-5 other locations in Asheville before deciding on Zen. I'm so happy we decided to utilize the space at Zen. We had the absolute most perfect day! We worked closely with Samantha, who was always quick to respond and answered any questions we had. We faced several obstacles, the main one being COVID-19. Samantha and the staff at Zen were all very communicative on any guidelines we needed to be mindful of and supported us in our decision-making every step of the way. The spaces at Zen are phenomenal! We chose to have our ceremony in the Bamboo Garden and it was gorgeous! They have an excellent rain plan (the lounge), so leading up to the day, I was confident everything would run smoothly! The spaces were clean and set-up exactly how we discussed! Our reception in the Studio allowed for plenty of space for our guests, caterers, and dance floor! My bridesmaids and I utilized the bridal suite to get ready, which was super easy! We were able to leave our personal belongings in that space for safekeeping during the reception. Our groomsmen got ready in the Lotus Lounge and enjoyed their time, as well! Zen is in perfect proximity to plenty of hotels, restaurants, and bars. If you have a lot of family and friends coming in from out of town, this is the place for you! Plenty of activities are within walking distance! I cannot recommend Zen enough! It's the perfect place for your wedding day!!

My daughter's wedding reception was held in this fabulous venue and we could not have been more pleased! From our very first visit the owner Jeff and his event planner Cameron went out of their way to accommodate our every need. The caterer, the band, and the florist all told us up front that Zen is one of their favorite venues because they are so easy to work with and now I know why! The reception went off without a hitch. They provided ample bar tenders so there were no long lines at the bar and our every request was taken care of.

The staff at Zen were all so kind and helpful during the wedding process! We had both the ceremony and the reception at Zen. The staff at Zen helped answer any question we emailed them before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, my bridal party was able to get ready in the suite upstairs which was so convenient! The staff at Zen sets up and takes down everything, which gave us and our families more time to relax and get ready. EVERY staff member we spoke with at Zen was so kind and supportive. We loved having our wedding there! It was beautiful and they made us feel special.

Brides beware... The space that will be marketed to you as a “Bridal suite” in their loft area is completely impractical and unrealistic for beauty teams of hair and makeup artists. Zen bans the use of all sprays in this space—hair spray, setting spray, shine spray, dry shampoo, airbrush makeup, etc. Basically everything your beauty providers will need to use on you to help you look your best on your big day. They actually require you to walk down all the stairs and out into the garden area to spray your hair or makeup OUTSIDE. I’m not sure how you would even accommodate this if it were raining outside. All of the chairs and tables are low and swanky, and white, but definitely not the least bit practical for bridal suite purposes. Do yourself a favor and if you choose Zen as your event space, find an alternate destination for your primping the morning of.

Where do I even begin! The staff at Zen is top knotch, the spaces are beautiful, and the location is perfect. Everyone at Zen is beyond wonderful to work with from start to finish. You can tell they all care dearly about the events the put on and all your guests will know as well. Our wedding would not have been what it was without Zen and everyone that works there❤️

You will be proud to entertain guests in this modern venue with it's excellent service. Jeff, Cameron, and Rhonda were friendly, professional and responsible throughout the planning and execution of my son's rehearsal dinner. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

We had my daughters wedding reception at Zen last weekend and cannot be happier. The space was beautiful! We rented the entire space for our reception of 200 people. Cameron was very accomodating and flexible. The bar service was great and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend!

DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE. I got married here a few months ago, and days later they called blaming us for breaking a glass sink at the venue. I did NOT break the sink and my wedding party DID NOT break it. Before I left the venue, I cleaned up the area I was staying in and the sink was fine. They're blaming me because they think they can get away with this. They're forcing us to pay or they will take us to court. Take your services to another venue who will actually care about you. They are lovers of money. Run!!

Zen was one of the first venues we considered and while the price tag may feel steep, it’s because everything is INCLUDED! You get the venue, staffing, most of the rentals, and so much help along the way. Our wedding reception was perfect and our out-of-town guests were GUSHING over how beautiful the space was. They also provide bar services in-house and were the most affordable we found in town. The staff was phenomenal and Cameron made every step of planning feel effortless – she is truly a gem. We rented the entire facility with a reception for about 200 and it was a perfect fit. I could not recommend this space more!

Zen was a fabulous venue for our daughter's wedding. Nancy and Rhonda were wonderful and so easy to work with. On the night of the wedding, Zen was transformed into an elegant and beautiful environment for our daughter's special night. Zen's employees were all great especially the Bar Staff. Zen worked great with the caterers, DJ, photographers, florist and wedding planner. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. Although I had my doubts about the venue size, it easily fitted comfortably 168 guests and 24 tables. The ceremony went off without a hitch and also was spacious enough for our guests. all of our quests raved about this venue. And Best of All The Bride and Groom absolutely loved it and had a fabulous wedding.

We were married at Zen in October of 2015. I couldn't imagine saying "i do" anywhere else. To be honest, after looking at photos online, i wasn't sure Zen was the place for us ... but once we visited the first time, we knew it was perfect! The entire space is gorgeous. You don't need many decorations at all, as each room is already modern and so elegant as is. I was a little nervous, it was hard to get an idea of how everything would go and turn out, but it couldn't have been any more perfect. Zen and their staff were so accommodating day of, Amy is amazing and checked on us all day making sure we had everything we needed. We were married in the bamboo garden, again, no decorations ... it is so beautiful and peaceful! We had cocktail hour in the lotus lounge, which is an awesome little space, and the reception in the main room. There is a really cool place upstairs for people to get ready or for your bridal party to hang out day of. This entire place is just perfect. So many of our guests have raved about how amazing Zen is, we even have a friend who decided to get married here! I can't say enough good things about it. You get what you pay for, and Zen is worth every penny! If you want a wedding that is different, elegant and modern, Zen will not disappoint!

Zen is by far my favorite venue in Greenville. Not only is it the most unique and inviting space, but the quality and customer service provided by the Zen staff surpasses all expectations. The entire team at Zen is flexible in accommodating it's clients with fitting their needs, and customizing a gorgeous event meant for only them. From the uplighting, to the the gorgeous landscaping in the garden, Zen take pride in providing a beautiful space for all of their guests. I can't wait to attend another event at Zen!

Our search for the best most elegant venue began one year before the wedding date of March 7, 2015. I had emailed many, many venues in and around our area. I have to say that everyone was very cordial, courteous, and prompt with seating numbers and prices. The bride to be called the places she was interested in and made appointments for tours and information. We started early that Friday morning and ended late that afternoon, seeing 8 venues that day. The first 7 places were a definite no from Ayrn. Our last stop was Zen. We stepped in to the foyer and saw the beautiful sleekness of silver and black of reception area and the soft colors of the area for the ceremony. Ayrn knew as soon as she stepped one foot inside that this was where she wanted her ceremony and reception. The event coordinator was so very helpful in every aspect. She worked with us through everything. She also answered what seemed to be a 100 email questions. They met us at Zen on numerous occasions to let the groom and catering chef see the different areas. The owner Jeff was also great to work with. He is such a nice person and helped us make lots of decisions on the best way to decorate certain areas. The evening of the rehearsal went smoothly with lots of help from the staff. A gorgeous Saturday morning awaited us the day of the wedding. We arrived around 11:00am. All of the chairs for the ceremony and tables were in place for the reception, which had been decided on at a prior date. Everything went smoothly from ceremony to reception. We had marvelous food ranging from pork loin to waffles w/chicken. The wedding cake which was made by a special friend who owns Chubbs Cakes which is located in Donalds, SC was picked especially by the bride and groom. It was a red velvet cheesecake with cream cheese icing. It was out of this world! Not one piece was left at the end of the evening. We also had 6 different flavors of cupcakes. We had and open bar for the bridal party and a cash party for guests. We had over 160 in attendance and special friends danced the night away with the newly weds. DJ music was done by JO-JO from Honea Path, SC. As the evening came to a close and guests were leaving I was told by many of them that this was the best and most fun wedding they had ever been to. That made my heart swell with joy and delight. The pictures were all taken by CS Photography from Honea Path, SC. Carrie outdid herself. All of the pictures are wonderful and will hold so many memories for so many people who had a part in the glorious union of Matthew Gilstrap and Ayrn Sexton.

We had our Wedding at Zen on 10.31.14. We had the ceremony and reception in the Lotus Lounge with about 100 people. The entire staff was a real pleasure to work with. They were all very helpful and set up the place exactly the way we wanted it. They helped us design signature bride and groom drinks. We had a great experience and would recommend this venue to anyone.

Nancy did an amazing job during the event planning process and very prompt to responding to my requests. Jeff went above and beyond to ensure all events went as planned as well as executed the impossible to exceed my expectations. I highly recommend Zen for any event you want to host in or near Greenville, SC. Kudos to the staff and management for delivering an unforgettable weekend for my clients.

The space is amazing and comfortably fit 340 people. It doesn't need much decoration other than flowers as the space is so pretty by itself. I worked with Cameron and she was always available and quick to answer any of my many questions or meet me to review things. Everything ran beautifully and our guests thought everything was awesome. Definitely worth the money!!

Zen is such a beautiful space for a wedding and/or reception! I live across the country, so between a really positive scouting trip by my mother to Zen, and the constant responsiveness via email and phone with Cameron, we chose Zen for both our wedding and reception in April 2014. We worked primarily with Cameron throughout the year of planning, and she was always incredibly responsive and friendly. All of our questions were always answered within a day and suggestions for placements, etc., were promptly provided when requested. We rented the entire space, using the bamboo garden for the ceremony, the Lotus Lounge for a cocktail hour while the wedding party had photos taken, and then the Studio for the reception with buffet dinner and dancing. We also used the upstairs suite with full bathroom for the bride and bridesmaids to do final preparations. Because all areas are so attractive on their own, they required very little decorating from us, which made things very easy! We added no decorations outside in the bamboo garden, because the natural full greenery was very pretty without any additional decor. And the only decor added inside were floral centerpieces on each of the dinner tables in the Studio, as well as one very large floral arrangement at the entrance. As the big day neared, Cameron communicated directly with our vendors, as needed, to answer any questions, and she met with us a couple of times the week of to ensure we all felt comfortable with the plan. There was a chance of rain, so she helped come up with a backup plan, which thankfully wasn't needed! The day of, the Zen team was helpful in making sure we had a perfect day. Many guests commented what a great venue Zen was, and I couldn't agree more! It's a modern space, simple yet elegant, and the staff is so easy to work with. I cannot imagine choosing a better place for our wedding/reception and would highly recommend it to others!

I would recommend Zen for any event - but we held our daughter and her new hubby's wedding and reception at Zen. The staff and our rep was so accommodating - we had the best day ever! The space is elegant and beautiful and you have so many options to do whatever, go simple or over the top!

Zen has a beautiful outdoor garden where we can our ceremony and a modern indoor feel for the reception. It was the perfect space for my husband and I!

Zen was the perfect venue for our wedding and the service was great. We had our ceremony and reception there. It was absolutely beautiful!

Zen was a fantastic experience. Our wedding reception exceeded expectation and everyone was impressed. Their service was great and we never had any problems with communication. They did a very great job planning how we exactly wanted everything and worked very well with our other vendors. Zen was also great in that it was only a few blocks from the downtown hotels so that all of our guests could walk home that night.

My daughter was married in August 2013. The reception was at the Zen.Everything was great.The staff as great to work with.The facility was beautiful. I do not have a bad thing to say about our experience.I would recommend the Zen to anyone.

My husband & I almost missed out on The Zen. For some odd reason, this particular place did not come up when we googled "wedding reception venues in Greenville, SC", so we didn't know about it. We almost made a decision on another venue, when we decided to google one more time. This particular time, this place came up first & I called immediately. I scheduled an appointment to go see the place & my husband & I immediately fell in love with it. It was so different, elegant, & beautiful! After a few days...the place was booked! The coordinator that I was personally working with & the owner were awesome throughout my entire planning! With over 350 people...our reception ended up being the BEST ever. Thanks Zen...I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!!!

My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception at Zen, and it was PERFECT! The staff we worked with leading up to our wedding were incredibly helpful and professional, and they were great on the actual wedding day when we made a last minute decision to do the ceremony inside instead of outside. Everything was beautiful and went off without a hitch. It is a beautiful, open space that is neutral in color, so you can really do anything you want to with it decor-wise. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue to any couple!

We chose Zen as our reception site after being there for a previous event. We loved the modern atmosphere and unique design. For 6 months we worked with the staff to plan the reception; every person we contacted or talked with seemed so knowledgable and offered great ideas. We were welcomed into the building each time we came (even the afternoon of)! The night of the recepetion was perfect. The layout was perfect, the staff and bar tenders were so polite and helpful. It was literally gorgeous! We were married on December 17th, so the holiday decor was perfect and kept with the modern feel of the building. I highly recommend Zen for any event! Both rooms are beautiful and fit for a great time.

After 9 years of dating and a year and a half of planning, my wedding week had finally arrived! I had planned and executed every last detail myself to assure that I would not have anything to stress over come the week of. My fiance and I had chosen a beautiful outdoor venue but we were not prepared for the hurricane threats flocking every news channel and weather site we visited. With only 4 days to spare we had to make the decision to change our venue with hardly any time to notify our guests or re plan the entire event. After several calls to various venues, I came across Zen and fell in love with the images posted online. I just knew that such an elegant space would be beyond our budget but called them anyway. They heard my plea for help and made an unbelievable offer allowing us to use their space and providing a full staff to ensure the everything fell into place accordingly. After my initial meeting with Cameron, I felt a major weight lifted off my shoulders and knew immediately that we were in good hands. We were given access to the entire facility for our Ceremony and Reception and felt the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The venue itself was breathtaking and more than I could ever have dreamed possible for my wedding. The night could not have gone any more perfectly. I would absolutely recommend Zen and their hard working and professional staff for any event. The experience was an unforgettable one for all in attendance.

We recently had our reception at Zen on July 16th 2011 and it was perfect!! The place is absolulty amazing and my guests are still raving about it. It is not your normal boring reception hall. Its so much more than that. Cameron is one of the staff members I worked with the whole time up until my wedding day. She was wonderful and always got back to me quickly on all of my questions I had. I wanted my guests saying that was the best wedding they had been to. And with the help of Zen, they did!!

I fell in love with Zen from the moment I laid eyes inside. The modern warehouse feel is exactly my style with amazing art, chinese lanterns, and white and black leather furniture. Zen is truly a unique space, especially in Greenville, SC. Don't worry--you pay for it. My heart was set and I wasn't having my wedding and reception anywhere else though and I was willing to pay for it. The atmosphere and decor is worth every penny, but the organization of the staff leaves a little to be desired. When I signed my contract there were lots of small perks added in and some things that were explained that became issues. The parking was free at first and then a month before the wedding it was $2 a car. Of course I didn't pay it, but it is just something I felt they are trying to tag on. Then my bar service was through them and when I signed the contract they didn't have a specific liquor list, but they assured me it wouldn't be all off brand liquors. Three months before the wedding she sends me a liquor list with all off brand liquors for the price I agreed to ($7/hr/pp). I ended up having to may $8/hr/pp, which was ultimately $400 more just to have Smirnoff, Jose, Jim Beam, and for the inconvenience I demanded Crown Royal. In the end, the place was beautiful and the staff was helpful, but they have a little work to do to be perfect.

We held our wedding reception at Zen in March. We had approx. 500 guests and rented out both rooms. We were looking for somewhere trendy, different, and beautiful. I could not imagine a place more perfect - from the staff to the decor to the layout of the facility - Zen had everything we were wanting, and more! Cameron, Jeff, and the rest of the staff were always there to help with any questions we had while planning and had wonderful ideas to contribute! Their experience and creativity helped make our reception go so smoothly. The location of Zen was prime. We used their shuttles to transport guests from the parking lots to Zen. This was great, especially for the older crowd (or the girls with uncomfy shoes)! The industrial - modern style of Zen was perfect. From the high ceilings, to large glass windows, to murals and even the gorgeous bathrooms - Zen was not only beautiful, but UNIQUE. We did very little decorating and played up the large windows with votives. I still have people commenting on how beautiful everything was. We set food up in both rooms, had a bar in each room, and our guests loved roaming around to find new things. The balcony overlooked the dance floor and was perfect for guests that wanted to see everything going on. The patio area was beautiful. The side entrance made a wonderful exit as our guests could all line up to send us on our way! Zen was absolutely perfect and I would recommend Zen to ANYONE for ANY occasion. The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the decor is breath-taking.

This venue was perfect for our Wedding and Reception. We had a small ceremony on the secluded patio then enjoyed great food, beverages, and music indoors. It was perfect.

Zen was the perfect venue for our daughter's wedding reception on January 15, 2011. Everything was beautiful, elegant, spacious, and quite sophisticated. Our daughter's dream recepton was fulfilled in every way. The support staff was fabulous and went well beyond expectations to work around snowy, icy parking lots to insure the safety of guests. The bar and bar staff were excellent. Service was impeccable. The recommended caterer prepared the most amazing food. Zen provides a variety of wonderful spaces in one facility to meet he needs of any guest and any event. Our guests were very complimentary during and after the event. Would definitely use and recommend Zen again!

Zen was, indeed, an elegant space in which to have our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception for our son and his wife. The smaller area was perfect for the rehearsal dinner, and the reception fit beautifully into the larger area. They rented the tables, chairs, linens, dishes, silverware, glasses, etc. and set everything up for us. There was a perfect space for the band to perform. We also used the audio/visual equipment. Zen was also responsible for the bar and wait staff. The personnel were extremely helpful, efficient, and professional. Zen was perfectly beautiful and was an excellent facility for our family and friends to enjoy. Also, it was very accessible for those members of our family who needed assistance in order to be part of our celebrations. I would not hesitate to use Zen again for any function that requires beauty, efficiency, and elegance. Good Life Catering worked beautifully with Zen to provide a beautiful, delicious presentation of foods for both events!:-))

My husband and I had an after reception party at Zen in September. Everything was beautiful and everyone really enjoyed our party. The space is beautiful and the staff is really easy to work with. The caterer and DJ recommended by Zen were absolutely wonderful! The food was delicious and Shane at Good Life Catering was super accommodating. The DJ was great and went above and beyond to help make everything perfect.

I had my ceremony and reception at Zen in October, and it was great. They were very accommodating, and the facility is gorgeous. Would definitely recommend!
