We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Twin Owls Steakhouse. Our guests were amazed at how pretty the views were. The staff was incredible to work with, and was so helpful to make sure ...
that our night was so special. We will be back as guests for dinner whenever we can because we love Twin Owls.
We had our son’s rehearsal dinner at this venue. I can’t say enough good things about the venue and the staff! The venue is absolutely stunning in the mountains. Kathy Bell was ou...
r planner and she handled everything with such professionalism and was so wonderful to work with . Their chef, Rich, prepared such a delicious meal and the staff took wonderful care of everyone. It was exactly what the bride and groom wanted. It was everything that we had hoped for such an important event!
I have been wanting to go to Twin Owls for quite some time. I finally made reservations this Holiday season. The waiters and staff were exceptionally wonderful. The food on the o...
ther hand was not bad, but atrocious. The elk kabobs appetizers were great. The beet and house salads were great as well, but then came the entrees, buffalo ribeye and my friend had the elk sirloin. Both were way over cooked
and the taste/seasonings was terrible and was practically uneatable. I brought the leftovers for my pets. I told the waiter that I never return food and didn't want anything else. He gave us some crème brulee as a consolation. It tasted as though it had no vanilla and wasn't sweet at all. It tasted like whipped heavy cream and eggs. The caramelized sugar was scorched black. Overall, it was hands down the worst food I have ever had at a fine dining establishment.

t say enough about the incredible food, professionalism, and the personal service I have seen them provide on couple's wedding days. Twin Owls has always been a personal favorite of my husband and myself for dinner which makes it easy to recommend for weddings and rehearsal dinners. I have also delivered cakes to the Taharaa Mountain Lodge venue location which, in my opinion, has one of the most stunning mountain views from their gorgeous Great Room setting with its surrounding walls of windows. With the beautifully appointed lodging rooms right on site for couples and their guests before and after the festivities, it is convenient for everyone to focus just on celebrating the wedding day. By blending all of these, the beautiful open setting, incredible food and service, on site lodging, I could not imagine a more perfect mountain location for your wedding day. I can't say enough about the dedication of Sandra, Thad, and their staff to give each couple a wedding day that exceeds their dreams.
I cannot even begin to express how amazing my wedding was, thanks to Sandra and her team at Twin Owls Steakhouse. My wedding was 11/3/19 and at the old location at Black Canyon In...
n. I am sad that the steakhouse is now moving off Black Canyon Inn because the log cabin this steakhouse is in is absolutely magical. It is so cozy with a large fire place. The dark wood gave such a warm mountain feel, it was everything we were looking for in a venue.
Although the location is going to be new, I would still highly recommend based off of the coordination with Sandra, the service of her staff and the quality of the food. My husband and I upgraded to the filet on the menu and I would HIGHLY recommend! It was delicious! The buffet had pork loin, steak and black canyon chicken with was a HUGE hit. Many guests went up for seconds! Sandra was very accommodating to my gluten free and vegetarian guests, providing them with their own plated meals. We had the elk bites and bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer which were amazing!
Some of the reviews mention Sandra is hard to get a hold of. This may have been the case in the beginning - it would take a few days for a response however once the event became 1 month away, she was very attentive and responded to my emails very quickly. She plans MANY weddings along with running a restaurant, if your wedding is a decent time away - she will always respond, just be a little patient. I would NOT let that deter you from booking this venue. I have helped plan several other weddings and this is always the case until the actual wedding date gets closer.
Look no further, book this venue! You will not be disappointed!!
I held my wedding reception at the Loft above the restaurant on August 17, 2019. Everything was absolutely perfect! The food was delish, the room itself was cozy and bigger than ex...
pected. The staff were on point and very accommodating to everyone. Michael and Cathy took care of us and our party. We had thirty guests including ourselves and it was perfectly comfortable. Sandra, thank you for working with us and executing a lovely reception dinner at your restaurant. Good luck on the new adventure! Thanks again everyone!
Twin Owls was the perfect venue for our intimate reception dinner after our destination wedding in Estes Park. The entire booking and planning process was a breeze thanks to their ...
use of online proposals, huge menu selection and online payment system. When we arrived to our venue, the staff was top notch. They took wonderful care of our guests and kept everyone eating or drinking for the entire evening. The venue was the perfect size for our group of 32. The food was delicious! We are so happy we chose this venue and look forward to visiting there again in the future.
Hands down best venue in Estes Park, Co. working with Sandra was such a breeze and the venue has that perfect Colorado cabin feel. The food was delicious. My guests were very satis...
fied with everything. The staff was AMAZING. I can’t say it enough how helpful they all were. We booked the small space upstairs for 35 people. It was a little snug, but it worked pretty well. We had a small dancing area for first dances and toasts. I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for that intimate cabin setting in the middle of beautiful Estes Park.
Twin Owls Steakhouse is a local favorite, that definitely means something! Now I understand why, our wedding guests cannot stop raving about the food! The entire evening came toget...
her better than I could have ever imagined. Sandra was great! She answered all of my questions, gave advice when I asked and worked hard to meet Mitch and I's planning needs. She even went above and beyond. My Matron of Honor's husband was taking care of their one month old baby in the condo. I had asked for his meal to be boxed so that he could pick it up. Instead Sandra had his food hand delivered. My husband and I also instantly had food and drinks in front of us upon sitting down. That was awesome considering most couples say they do not get the time to eat at their wedding. If anything needed to be done, Sandra had someone to do it. Therefore we were able to focus on enjoying our reception. The only concern we had about the venue was how our guests would be broken up into different rooms. We had around 150 people, so we needed to use the main room, the loft and the garden room. In the end it really didn't matter. We put people together that would have a good time and after eating, everyone was mingling or dancing in the main room of the venue. Twin Owls Steakhouse is an amazing reception venue that I could not recommend enough. Sandra has an organized and efficient system in place that will give you a flawless reception.
Choosing a venue seemed like such a monumental decision to me, and my husband and I finally decided on Twin Owls. And let me tell you, it was SUCH a wonderful decision. Let me lay ...
out the reasons:
1) One of the main reasons we decided to book was the fact that it's mostly-inclusive. Meaning, we didn't have to hire caterers or any event rentals for tables and chairs or anything. Not having to deal with potential catering glitches or timing problems day-of was INCREDIBLE.
2) We had our ceremony right next door at Black Canyon, and then cocktail hour on the lawn* (*it actually rained so we moved it indoors), and reception in the steakhouse. That made it a very convenient flow for us and our guests.
3) Twin Owls has so much natural beauty in its rustic, yet elegant ambiance. We hardly had to add anything else to make it perfect for our reception, which cut our decor costs (and stress) WAY down.
4) Sandra is a very detailed, organized person, and she helped us figure out the flow of our wedding, and was flexible when we needed to make changes.
5) Having separate rooms (the main room, loft, and fireside room) made it really fun for guests to mill around, rather than being in one room the whole time. It was a very unique setup.
6) Lastly, but CERTAINLY not least, the food was AMAZING. Everyone was commenting on how good it was, and Sandra even accommodated my tricky food allergies (dairy, gluten, and peanuts), and somehow the food was STILL phenomenal. OH, and she set aside a whole plate of appetizers for my husband and I since we were doing photos during cocktail hour :)
It was such a dreamy wedding, and all the guests who flew in (it was a destination for pretty much everyone) were enchanted by the "cabin in the mountains" vibe. I've had so many people tell me it was one of the loveliest weddings they'd been to, and that's in large part due to Twin Owls!
First of all, let me say the actual wedding day was great. The food was amazing and everything went smoothly without a hitch. However, the planning part was unnecessarily stressful...
. Sandra is not the best at communication. It often times would take her about 3 days for her to respond to an email. When she did respond, it was with a frustrated and rude tone. Forget trying to actually call her on the phone. She's never available. Her assistant manager Nelly was always very kind and took the time to answer my bridal questions. I understand my questions might be seem dumb for someone who hosts weddings several days a week, but it was my first.
Not to mention, she does charge a 20% gratuity fee, which is expected, but she also placed tip jars without my permission. It may not be a big deal for some, but it really rubbed me the wrong way.
It was very frustrating to easily have paid this vendor the most and they were the worst with costumer service.
On a positive note, she definitely has the system down, but being a little more organized in communicating and being nicer via email would have gone a long way.
It has been several months since our wedding, but my husband and I both still agree that we had the absolute best wedding venue possible. Our wedding was a destination, and many of...
our guests had never been to Colorado let alone Estes Park before. Nearly all of them told us (and are still telling us) that it was hands down the best wedding they had ever attended. My husband and I are foodies, our families are foodies, and may of our friends are foodies, too. So, so many of them told us that our wedding food was also the best wedding food they had ever had. I completely agree. Sandra and the staff at Twin Owls were incredibly kind, easy to communicate with, and so attentive to our every need. They enabled us to truly relax and focus on our wedding and guests while they provided the perfect atmosphere and the most amazing food. Our reception ran flawlessly because of the professionalism of the staff and warm, comfortable ambiance of the Twin Owls. My husband and I went back the next night for dinner and were greeted with the sweetest smiles and kindest words. Magical is an understatement for the wedding experience the Twin Owls provided. If I could do our wedding over again, I would choose the Twin Owls a thousand times over. It was the wedding I never thought I would have and the wedding I will dream of with the sweetest memories for the rest of my life. I cannot wait to go back for anniversary trips for years to come!
I got married at Black Canyon Inn and had the reception at Twin Owls Steakhouse in June of 2017. We had a fabulous experience start to finish. Sandra is the REAL DEAL. She is a ...
total professional and knows this venue like the back of her hand. She always provided us with clear and honest advice (even when it meant that we would be spending a bit less money). Sandra was open to accommodating any special requests we had. The venue, the staff, the food, the booze, all of it- 10/10. Thank you for making us feel so special!
For a bride planning a destination wedding from Illinois, having never been to or seen Twin Owls prior to my wedding day, I was nervous but Sandra made everything SO easy and stres...
s free! Beautiful restaurant, very elegant and classy. Location is gorgeous; phenomenal maintain views. Everything is clean and well kept, outdoors included. Very cozy environment, very intimate for a smaller ceremony (our guest lists was approximately 50.) Staff is very polite. The Garden Room got a little toasty with so many people in a small area. Bathroom is very small for someone in a wedding dress, but clean. I would definitely recommend to others and return myself!
This venue for a reception and cocktail hour is spectacular. The location is gorgeous, with a marvelous view of the mountains. The grounds are well maintained and my 100 guests ...
found parking with ease. The restaurant is so COZY and when you add your wedding decorations, it looks so amazing. Not to mention, it was literally steps away from our wedding venue, so very convenient for guests. (The wedding was booked through Black Canyon Inn). The cocktail hour included a signature drink that we got to create with the bartender, which was very fun and cool. The food was marvelous. We had the pork tenderloin, the pasta and the chicken saltimbocca. We also had elk medallions and the pastry wrapped beef wellington steak rolls, for cocktail hour, along with cheeses and crackers. All of the food was delicious! The beverage selection at the bar is quite large, so our guests had plenty to choose from. The venue can be set up in various table formations and the coordinator sends you a link to a very cool website, SocialTables, where you can view the floor plans. I appreciated this tremendously.
The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is the difficulty I had in contacting the coordinator throughout the process. It all worked out in the end, but I think more prompt responses would have alleviated my stress, especially when the wedding date was weeks away. Thanks Twin Owls Steakhouse for making our wedding memorable and absolutely beautiful!

recommend checking out Twin Owls. It's super convenient if you are getting married at Black Canyon Inn, but would be a lovely site even if you were getting married somewhere else.

ls is beautiful inside and provides a rustic yet elegant atmosphere. Also, the food was amazing and we had a lot of guests that were raving about the prime rib and mashed potatoes. We worked with Sandra for the two years leading up the wedding and she was helpful, responsive, and flexible where she could be. It was really nice going to Twin Owls for our tasting as we had a chance to talk to Sandra face-to-face and an opportunity to try some meal options. It was such a fun meeting and Sandra took a good amount of time with us to ensure she had all of the information she needed and also gave me time to ask questions and make requests. Sandra was really accommodating and even offered to provide Sangria as our signature drink, as well as a S'mores bar for our wedding reception. Thank you, Sandra! On the night of the wedding, Sandra was there to make sure everything was running smoothly and she even provided a take-home box of food that my husband and I could enjoy the next day as we didn't have a ton of time to eat the night of the wedding. My only complaint is the time restrictions. The ten o'clock hour comes quick and I would have loved to have just one more hour of dance time. However, we knew our time limitations going in and we still had such an incredible night with family and friends at Twin Owls! Looking forward to going back for dinner soon!
-Everyone very much enjoyed the food.
-The loft room was so hot, guests were unable to enjoy themselves/be comfortable. Most left immediately after the cake. The waitress said the ...
air conditioner was on, but it couldn't have been (I was sitting underneath and it was very hot). It was so warm, one guest spent most of the time outside and didn't eat his meal d/t over heating. Since everyone left early, guests didn't drink all the alcohol purchased because of temperature.
-The waitress did give that guest a take away box so he could later eat his meal, unfortunately it was in his room where the temperature was more comfortable.
-Childern that ordered the chicken nuggets only got chicken nuggests, not "served with ranch dressing and vegetables"
-There was a live acoustic guitar player downstairs, we were unable to play our own background music because the guitar player was louder.
-One of the 2 servers was a gentleman unable to serve alcohol (minor). He spent most of his time standing around while the waitress ran up and down the stairs. If there was a bar area in the loft room, why wasn't this utilized to save trips up and down?
-The waitress poured the champagne for guests, but because she was going up and down the stairs, there was a 15 minute delay/waiting for the n/a toasting beverage to be poured (for grandma and kids). She apologized for forgetting, but everyone was trying to leave because of the heat.
-The cake was not cut the guidelines/standards. The person who cut our 2 layer cake left the top layer on when cutting the bottom. The bottom layer slices were all small pieces and left the cake butchered with more leftovers then anticipated. It was also disproportionate because it was cut incorrectly.
Convenient location if you're getting married at Black Canyon, lacking in areas and can't do anything about it after the fact.

This venue is gorgeous! Sandra and her team were so helpful and my night was flawless. The food is amazing and my guests couldnt stop complimenting this venue choice.
Food was delicious! Best food I have ever had at a wedding by far. The bartenders were awesome, very fast and no waiting. The steakhouse was beautiful with a rustic feel. The only ...
negative I have is that they were not flexible with seating arrangements and gave us 1 seating chart with how tables were laid out and there was no changing this. I was upset about this during the planning process but the wonderful service, food, and drinks the night of the wedding made up for this

d the steakhouse right in the center of it all. We had alot of out of town guests, so we wanted to make sure they could enjoy the night without having to drive or taxi. The day of the wedding the staff could not have been any better. They truly work to make the night one to remember. Our guests loved the food and bartender the best. Because the venue is smaller, it makes for a very intimate wedding. This is exactly what we were looking for. Sandra and her team were very attentive the entire night. They love what they do and you can see and feel that. Little decoration is needed because the location itself is perfect. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.

al for us and our guests. Our dinner was held in the loft above the main floor and it was a nice space where our party could be kept separate from everything else. The food was delicious and we were able to offer multiple entrees to our guests to choose from. The bar package was easy to set up with plenty of drink options. The servers were extremely attentive, helpful, and courteous to our guests. I’m glad we chose this place because it set the tone for a great wedding weekend.
We looked at this venue over a year before we planned to get married and booked it right away!( I would recommend this if you love it because it gets booked up very quickly). It is...
rustic and glamorous with a log cabin feel and huge chandeliers. We had some trouble and communication issues while trying to arrange which package we wanted and how many guests we would have but this was quickly solved.
On the day of the wedding, they allow you to decorate at 12:30 pm which worked out perfectly since my ceremony was at 4, cocktail hour at 4:30 and we wouldn't be going into the restaurant until 5:30 for dinner. One other thing I loved on the day is that when my husband and I were about to walk in for our grand entrance they came up and asked us what we wanted to eat(we choose a buffet) and brought our food to us first so we would be able to eat and then have plenty of time to mingle, very classy!
The one downside is cost, this is a 5 star restaurant my friends so they do not let you get out easy! We paid about $100 a person which included a buffet with prime rib, tortellini and Alaskan cod as the mains. As well as sides, unlimited soda, juice, tea, wine and beer. It worked perfectly for us, and all our friends and family were raving about the food for weeks! Overall, I had a great experience with Twin Owls, although they were pricy they helped make my day incredible and everything went so smoothly!

sat down so that we would actually have a chance to eat something. There are a number of strict rules around decorations (especially candles) so make sure to read the contract carefully. I found speaking with Sandra directly to be the easiest way to work out anything. This is definitely not the cheapest venue but it is well worth it.

ing. The food was good then, but I wasn't blown away. Everyone at the wedding RAVED about the dinner they had. And the waiters/waitresses were super attentive to me and my groom. Would recommend this place to anyone!

the picture. They were all so incredibly accommodating and helpful when planning a destination wedding. I never felt stressed and received prompt responses to all emails. Sandra made sure that our day was perfect! We opted for the buffet and everyone at the reception commented on how delicious the food was. I highly recommend the spicy elk tenderloins for an appetizer, you won't be disappointed!! Since returning home I have not stopped telling all of my family and friends about the phenomenal experience we had at Twin Owls Steakhouse. I cannot wait to return there.
We decided to have our intimate rehearsal dinner at Twin Owls followed by an "open house" for the everyone invited to the wedding after the dinner. We met with Sandra, the manager ...
of Twin Owls, who agreed to give us the entire restaurant after 7:30pm on a Saturday night to allow all of our guests, many whom were out of towners, to come and drink, eat and socialize before the craziness of the wedding. We felt it was important to have a night that we could actually have time to personally see and talk with all of our guests before the wedding. The day of the wedding is so hectic and the bride and groom are constantly being pulled in different directions, so it was nice to have a night to actually see people and enjoy it all. We had our rehearsal dinner of 30 in a smaller room at 5:00pm and then the entire restaurant was opened up to our party at 7:30pm. We had a platted dinner for the small dinner party with an open bar and then were able to provide appetizers and beer and wine to the rest of the guests. The place is beautiful with the rustic log cabin feel and a huge fireplace in the center of the main dining room to make it still feel "cozy." We would highly recommend Twin Owls because of the beauty, the affordable price, and the flexibility of the staff!
It's a shame to give this low of a rating because we were so excited to use Twin Owls for our Reception. The food here is INCREDIBLE. The restaurant is beautiful and rich in histor...
y. The staff was flawless our wedding night. Our guests raved about the food and the service. The selection was wide and varied. And the price was very reasonable.
Unfortunately it was the planning process that left us feeling neglected. We had a great initial impression with the owners. We dined in the restaurant the night before we met to discuss possibly booking the venue for a wedding and we fell in love with it right away. We were blown away by the food. And one of the owners came by our table (not even knowing our reason for dining there) and swept us off our feet with his personable approach and hospitality. The next morning we met with his wife Sandra, the co owner and again were blown away by the personable approach and packages they offer and we booked a date immediately.
That was the end of our good experience in dealing with them. Sandra was difficult to get a hold of. Responses were usually one word answers or none at all. Finally we submitted our final plan 2-3 months before the wedding as required with our idea with linens and lighting etc. Of course no reply so we sought one out, and the response was "yes" it was received. Not answering any of the questions we had.
Come to find out the week of the wedding after everything was reserved, that our linen plan wouldn't work b/c of the type of tables they use. It was apparent that our plan wasn't even fully reviewed until then. Fortunately I had a planner who was able to change our linen order in time and hunt down Sandra to get the answers we needed on multiple other items. We were staying on site the whole week before the wedding and tried to meet to make sure everything else was set, but we were unable to find her so we eventually had to talk to another staff member who was unsure of most of what we were asking. The only time we saw her all week was at the very end of the night to collect payment. When there was a problem with the card all of a sudden she was readily available the whole next day calling multiple times to make sure she got paid.
Another disappointing thing we were shocked to discover the night of the reception was that were not "permitted" to order shots from the bar. We purchased the highest available food and liquor package with the understanding the whole bar would be available. We were told in advance that shots and doubles would have to be paid for in cash, so when we had money left over to meet our minimums our hope was to open another bar tab for just that purpose. Well the night of the wedding going to order a shot as husband and wife and the bartender told us shots aren't allowed because "people get too drunk". That is not what was in our contract and highly disappointing for all the money we paid to be told as adults were aren't allowed to do a shot the night of our wedding? just bizarre and unacceptable.
It was still a beautiful reception with great food, and our guests enjoyed it, but for us it should've been a better experience as a whole.
The food here was amazing but even better was the atmosphere. The steakhouse was rustic and romantic with the great fireplace in the loft upstairs. Everyone enjoyed dining here.
We had our wedding reception at Twin Owls and could not have been happier. We had a great experience from the beginning. Sandra was great to work with and easy to get in touch with...
, and whenever she was unavailable her assistant, Julie, was just as great. We had a couple of minor contract issues but Sandra was very responsive and was able to fix them as soon as they were brought to her attention. They are very flexible and accommodating. The venue is GORGEOUS - we had very minimal decorations and it would have been fine with even less - and of course the food was delicious. We are still getting tons of compliments on our reception!
Food and service was great! Beautiful and private loft to have a small wedding reception.

ils and phone calls is slow; it sometimes took days to get a response. However, they were very accommodating to any changes I wanted to make or any concerns that I had. The value is great, while there is a food and beverage minimum, there is no rental fee. However, we had decided to pay for an extra buffet option, but come the day of the wedding the food was not available for our guests. While I was refunded the money, I was still upset that it was not made and it was one of the things I was looking forward to eating. But, the rest of the food was amazing and was leaps and bounds over normal wedding reception food.

el to it. My biggest complaint was that the coordinator only works a few days a week, so when we were getting down to the fine details, she'd often be unreachable which was really frustrating. Everything turned out ok, but it felt very last-minute, and I like to plan ahead, so this was really stressful for me. My only other complaint was that the noise restriction forced us to end our reception at 10:30pm, which is really really early, in my opinion. The service on the day-of was great.
Great food, great staff, great drinks, great location, inside is really cool looking
Twin owls did a great job with our wild group of ladies. The service was great, the food was amazing, we had a great time overall. Sorry again about the penis confetti! :)

od was excellent and our guests were still talking about it a week later. It was the perfect amount of space for our guests and I wouldn't have done it any differently. Their wedding coordinator Sandra was easy to work with and patient. They worked well with our florist and cake company and were very accommodating.

if ever we needed. They worked with our DJ to coordinate everything behind the scenes so my husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing. We had a little less than 120 guests so filled the main room, loft, and had the buffet in the garden room. It was a little tough that they opened for decorating at 12:30 on the day-of ... with the wedding at 3:30 I was already getting hair and make-up done and wasn't able to do up the steakhouse on my own. It was tough - I didn't want to ask bridesmaids or mom/stepmom to do it because I wanted them with me during hair and makeup. So that was a little frustrating and "inflexible" The food... holy moly it is the best food we or any of our guests have ever eaten. This is NOT "wedding food" I mean... baked brie, elk bites, NY strip... unbelievable. So good. But WOOOOOWWWW do you pay for it. That is the only reason I had to give value 4 stars... not that it is more expensive than anywhere else in Estes for a wedding... but everyone up there charges too much. So just throw down and do it!!
