Alexis Jones is a multimedia journalist based in Brooklyn, New York. As an Assistant Editor for Women’s Health, she contributes content to both print and digital. Alexis’ previous work has been featured in Marie Claire, Harper’s BAZAAR, Prevention, Woman’s Day, Redbook, and Business Insider. She graduated from the University of Virginia and then earned her Master’s from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Alexis declares herself to be Jeopardy’s number one fan and an avocado hater.
Experience
While attending the University of Virginia, Alexis interned with C-VILLE Weekly and freelanced for Borrowed & Blue. In the summer of 2016, she interned with The Knot through the American Society of Magazine Editors’ Magazine Internship Program. Following her undergraduate graduation, Alexis started her Master’s Program at Syracuse University and spent a semester as a Research Assistant. Alexis first joined the Hearst magazines team as an Editorial Fellow for Redbookmag.com and WomensDay.com. She was later promoted to Editorial Administrative Assistant to VP of Content and Editorial Director of Content Strategy and Assistant Editor for Women’s Health. In 2021, Alexis was hired as a Senior Editor for Health.
Education
Alexis received a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Media Studies from the University of Virginia and a Master’s Degree in Magazine, Newspaper and Online Journalism from Syracuse University.
