Alyssa “Lia” Mancao is a licensed psychotherapist with a decade of experience working with individuals and families. She served as a licensed clinical social worker in the community mental health setting, juvenile residential setting and is now the group owner of a private practice in Los Angeles.
Alyssa is a Filipina immigrant and moved to the US at age 4. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. Her work as a therapist incorporates the lens through which social issues impact a person's emotional and mental health, and she thoroughly enjoys creating content for her Instagram platform @alyssamariewellness where she hopes that information around mental health can be accessible. Her hobbies include going on hikes, spending time with loved ones, and learning new recipes. She currently has a newfound interest in learning how to care for plants.
Alyssa is certified in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Her experience ranges from treating anxiety, trauma, depression and supporting her clients with setting boundaries, engaging in inner child work, and improving their communication skills.
Alyssa received her Bachelor's in Sociology at California Polytechnic State University of Pomona with a minor in Social Work. She’s also received her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Southern California.
