550 is BEAUTIFUL!! Minimal decorating is needed because the space looks so good on its own. I loved that there were separate places on site for bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready. Roger was so helpful and was quick to answer any questions I had.
We fell in love with this venue as soon as we stepped in. Roger walked us through and gave us the entire history of the building, designs and all, and really made us feel at ease. Our wedding itself was more magical and memorable than we could have imagined. One thing we would like to have changed, is a heads up on tours going on during our rehearsal and while preparing during our wedding day. Otherwise the staff at 550 is amazing, the venue is absolutely gorgeous and fit our Disney theme, and plenty of space for lots of guests and dancing. Would recommend for anyone needing a wedding venue!
We loved hosting our wedding at 550! Everyone on staff there is super kind and easy to work with. The venue is STUNNING!
OMG. This place is awesome. The pictures from our wedding are stunning. The venue is classy and unique. I am so happy this is where we had our fabulous wedding.
We celebrated our wedding reception almost two weeks ago at 550 Trackside. I can’t praise Roger and his team enough for providing great service and this big, beautiful venue. Roger really worked with us on a lot of details and helped us with so many decisions from how to manage the bar tab to linens, to seating arrangements and decor. The venue itself is beautiful and has a lot of history. I highly recommend!!!
Roger and the team at 550 trackside did a phenomenal job in making our wedding day perfect. The venue is absolutely beautiful!! Roger was very flexible and allowed all day set up for my wedding. For months leading up to our wedding date, every time I had a question, Roger would get back to me almost immediately. The rest of the staff were so nice and the bartender, Claudia, was awesome!! Everyone told me after the wedding how beautiful 550 Trackside is! Definitely would recommend this place to host your event!
Perfect, beautiful venue. Roger & staff were wonderful to work with. My daughter had the perfect wedding!! 2/9/19 The Bridal Room was lovely. We highly recommend this venue for you special occasion!
It was truly a fairytale wedding and the staff at 550 trackside were so helpful in making sure everyone was taken care of. Every time I look at the photos I get so emotional because my wedding was and looked truly a dream come true. The space speaks for itself!
My husband and I got married at 550 Trackside on 08/25/18 - it was a beautiful day! We had our ceremony at the venue, the main area was flipped while guests attended a cocktail hour just outside, and then our reception was indoors.
The staff:
Roger was incredibly professional, helpful, timely, present, and always responded within 1-2 days of a phone call, even if it was on a weekend or after hours! Roger was flexible enough to let us use the space 1-2 days before to set up decorations since the venue wasn't booked for other events. And because we were on our honeymoon immediately after the wedding, he was incredibly lenient with the deadline for our final payment.
The other staff at 550 were always kind and accommodating a well.
The Venue:
We loved the venue, a former cotton mill, and so too did our guests. The space doesn't need much, but I was concerned about lighting and had my brother's electrical company hang string lights. That being said, the only thing that I would change is the lighting. Our pictures of the ceremony itself aren't the most beautiful; my suspicion is that it's because of the constant need for harsh flash and lack of natural lighting. That's the only reason why I leave a 4 instead of a 5. Everything else was phenomenal. We did take photos just outside the venue and the well manicured garden, character rich brick walls, and small grassy area made for beautiful couple shots.
Thank you to Roger and all the staff at 550 for an incredible day!!
Trackside is BEAUTIFUL! and the owner is great to work with, very friendly and always available to answer our questions. We could not have been happier!
We got married at 550 Trackside in October 2017. Roger, the owner, is very enthusiastic and proud of the work that he and his wife have poured into this building to turn it into a beautiful event space. Most of the decorations throughout the building are antiques collected by his wife from around the world. Roger was very helpful and made sure everything went exactly as planned. Below are a few notes from our experience: 1. All alcohol sales are done through the venue, and Roger is very flexible - you can do open bar, cash bar, beer/wine only, or switch between any of the aforementioned at any point (ex: after 9PM, 200 drinks, etc.). He has a base brand for each type of alcohol, but you can serve a “premium” option for an upcharge (he can obtain most brands if you give him enough time to track them down). He also has a signature cocktail served in a large decanter, which was perfect for cocktail hour. You can also decide how many bartenders/runners you would like. 2. The venue is very popular and has events almost every night of every weekend. We decided to hold our rehearsal elsewhere due to an event at 550 Trackside the night before our wedding. We could have held it there the morning of our wedding or around lunchtime the day before, but that didn’t fit well with our schedule. Overall, this worked out fine for us, but it’s something to consider. 3. You get access to the venue starting at 9am, and it’s yours for the entire day. The venue includes a room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in, which allowed us to bring the hair and makeup vendor to the venue and made the day much more relaxed/smooth. Having the venue all day also allowed us to take pictures throughout the day. 4. You can hold your ceremony outside, if you’d like. We held our ceremony inside since the interior is so beautiful, then had cocktail hour on the patio outside while the inside room was flipped for the reception.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier we choose 550 Trackside!
First I would like to thank Roger for letting us host my sister's wedding at his beautiful venue. He was honest , friendly and always there to answer our questions. He accommodate us with anything we needed to make our day a memorable one. He has an amazing crew that made our day go smoothly. They were there to help and assist us withanything even if it was not their duty to do so.
I want to mention some names for their amazing job, Broderick , Greg and his wife. Absolute wonderful people that actualy went beyond and above to make the day a memorable one. Thank you all :)
There was one person to the exception Lisa. She was rude and negative all the way.
Anyways I just said the above line just to mention her name but the overall experience was absolutely successful and wonderful.
Thank you again Roger and his crew.
Loved everything about 550 Trackside for our wedding! Roger, the owner, was accommodating and great with all the details! The managers that were there during the wedding did an amazing job and the crew handled the room flip between the ceremony and reception seamlessly!
The venue itself is gorgeous (down to the bathrooms). The bridal room is amazing and such a romantic room to get ready together with bridesmaids. With so many building materials (brick, stone, and wood) there are so many amazing picture opportunities and decorating is a breeze!
I always recommend this venue to brides with full confidence.
I could not have been more pleased with 550 Trackside for our reception venue. Roger, the owner, was so easy to work with and had great suggestions for an overwhelmed bride-to-be faced with so many decisions. I loved that we were able to use our own caterer but that he helped me with the beverages. The venue is BEAUTIFULLY designed down to every last detail with a lovely outdoor space that was perfect for a cocktail hour while we finished up photos. I loved that Roger had tons of experience hosting events and had the logistics down to a science, but he wasn't an inflexible "stickler" like some venues can be.
We could not be happier with how our wedding turned out at 550 last night! The venue was beautiful! The staff was more than accommodating and helped to ensure everything was absolutely beautiful. The cocktail hour room flip went off without a hitch and the room was set up before we even walked in this morning. Such a special venue for a day I will never forget!
We used 550 Trackside for our wedding day and were so impressed!!! The customer service was excellent from the very beginning. The manager Roger was very flexible and made himself available for multiple tours for my family, friends, and I while coordinating for the wedding, he was very patient and timely answering numerous emails and phone calls with all my questions, there is a perfect place for everything no matter what layout you choose, Roger and his staff were professional and well prepared the day of the wedding, the venue was beautiful and one of a kind. At one point we ran out of plates (somehow they were misplaced- we never found them) and were able to borrow dinner & cake plates from the venue and avoided a major catastrophe! I could say so much more! We received so many compliments from guests. We are so grateful to have had such a wonderful vendor for our big day. Thanks again! Highly recommend :)
The only cons I would mention: flip time from ceremony to reception was quoted at 20 minutes maximum and it took about 40 minutes and we were not told the table assembly was not included with the room flip and did not find out until the morning of the wedding when we arrived.
550 Trackside is the perfect venue for a wedding and many other special events and occasions. It is one of the most beautiful venues that I have ever been to. I would describe it as elegant rustic. All of the décor in the building has been hand-picked from all over the world by Roger and his wife to add beauty, elegance and character to the venue. Roger Kahn, the owner, is so easy to work with. He is always available to answer questions, offer suggestions and is so very helpful as the date gets closer. He was very accommodating when we wanted to visit the venue to gage how we would decorate, what we needed or when the coordinator and photographer wanted to look at the venue. You are able to get in the day of the wedding as early as 9:00 am to get ready and to decorate. There is a beautiful bride suite for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready in. My daughter had 6 bridesmaids plus the mothers and we all were very comfortable in the suite as we had our hair and makeup done and got dressed. Plenty of room for everyone. The groom and groomsmen use the office once they arrive. 550 Trackside has huge a catering kitchen which our caterer loved. The venue is set up for the wedding with the reception tables off to the side, so you can set the tables and decorate them prior to the wedding. After the wedding, guests are ushered outside for appetizers and drinks during the 20-30 minute flip. The bridal party and family stays inside for pictures. The patio is beautiful and shaded with bistro tables and chairs. After the flip the guests are invited back in to a beautiful reception hall and the party begins. Roger helped us decide how we wanted to stage all of the things (cake, photobooth, DJ, bar, buffet, gift table, etc). Roger was amazingly helpful during the seven months prior to the wedding. 550 Trackside is a comfortable, beautiful, elegant, spacious, and simply wonderful venue for a wedding or any other special event. I cannot say enough good things about the owner, Roger, his staff and 550 Trackside. I would highly recommend 550 Trackside!
We had our wedding reception at 550 Trackside, and we are so glad we chose this venue. The venue is beautiful and full of historic details. It is close to the train track which gives it a local, rustic charm. We received so many compliments from our guests on the reception venue. We had an early afternoon church ceremony, so it was important to find a venue that was flexible for the reception hours. The owner, Roger, was wonderful to work with, and allowed us to customize our start time to avoid any gaps between ceremony and reception. We did not have a wedding planner/ coordinator, but Roger made our planning stress-free, and assisted with the set-up. We would definitely use this venue again. I highly recommend this venue for any type of big event!
550 Trackside is a gorgeous, one of a kind venue. Roger, the owner, is very friendly and easy to work with. All of my guests were impressed with the venue and how amazing it looked. Highly recommend.
I love love love this venue. It's a gorgeous restored building next to the railroad tracks in downtown Lawrenceville. It's so unique and every detail in this place is stunning - from the Bride's room to the bathroom. The owner is great to work with and he was available every time I wanted to come to a walk through. He let me come check on things at the venue whenever I wanted, and he was always available to give my other vendors a tour. I had just my reception here, but 550 Trackside offers ceremony and reception services. All of my guests commented on how beautiful the venue was!
First off, this place was beautiful!! I loved having my wedding there. A few cons: the price is very expensive. It is located outside of Atlanta, and the owner of the venue, roger, is not very organized. Pros: it is so beautiful. If the space is available, roger will allow you to come in early to set up, which I hear is unheard of.
We were actually looking at another venue when the owner of that venue mentioned 550 Trackside. We looked it up on the way home and called to make an appt. Roger at 550 Trackside was great !!! He was very friendly and easy to work with. The place is full of great hsitory and beautiful. Very rustic, granite and mortar walls and big banister ceilings. Roger let us meet with our vendors there and allowed us to start to set up the day before (since he didn't have anything booked that night). We can't say enough good things about Roger and 550 Trackside !!! We would do it all over again right there :-)
My fiance and I found 550 Trackside by chance. My stepdad had heard about it through word of mouth. As soon as we stepped foot inside with refurbished cotton mill from 1905 we knew it was the place for us. Situated by train tracks it has the kind of unique beauty that fit with our rustic theme. Our guests felt the same way when the entered it on our wedding day. Roger, the owner, was very kind and helpful in setting our date, helping with our alcohol and recommending vendors. The only downside was that our rehearsal dinner was dependent on if someone picked else booked the venue the day before. However, Roger was very helpful when the date got closer in helping us work out other options should someone book. Luckily for us, the Saturday before our wedding was open and everything went as planned.
I have never received so many compliments about the wedding venue. Even the threat of passing by trains did not ruin our ceremony. In fact the train came by right when the minister said, "I now pronounce you husband and wife!" truly magic. My guests did not believe it was unplanned. The venue itself was a little pricey to rent since it does not come with normal packages (the security, tables, chairs, food, coordinating, alcohol, etc) is all at a separate cost. I got married on a Sunday which was discounted but still at a cost.
That being said I would recommend this venue to anyone. The only other downside is that they only serve beer and wine, so if liquor is a big part of your day that makes it tough. Otherwise it was wonderful and being that it's a new venue I'm guessing it will only get better with time.
Our wedding was beautiful and 550 Trackside will always hold a special place in our hearts!
Roger, the owner of the venue is a great vendor to work with. He gave us a great military discount and was very hands on with the whole process. We had the venue for the whole day and were free to do so much with it! I couldn't have dreamt of a more perfect wedding. The building itself is historic from the 1800's and very picturesque!
I was thoroughly impressed with 550 Trackside when I first toured the venue. The main space is absolutely beautiful--the building is grand and has a lot of character. Roger, the owner, and his wife have put a lot of thought into all of the design and functional elements of the space, and it really shows. The price for the venue is also extremely reasonable, and because you can bring in your own caterer and rentals/decorations, we had more control over the cost of these items and also had a lot of creative freedom. Roger was extremely helpful throughout the process in making suggestions as to how to set up the room for the reception and recommending other vendors (caterers, florists, etc.). Roger also allowed us access to the venue the entire day of our wedding, so I was able to take pictures with my bridal party before the ceremony. I did not have a single negative experience in working with Roger and I absolutely love how beautiful this venue was--I HIGHLY recommend this venue for anyone planning a wedding in the Lawrenceville area!
550 Trackside was the perfect location for our wedding! Accomidating our 300 guests comfortably, Roger & staff made everything go smoothly. An absolute MUST for Lawrenceville brides!
We did not want the classic ballroom reception. We wanted a vintage, rustic, and unique place to fit 250+ people which is hard to find in Gwinnett Co. We did! The detail in the design of this venue is impecable, the space is great, and your guests will love it. It is in the heart of a historic downtown community and right beside active train tracks, which made for some AWESOME pics. They have tables and chairs provided. They let you bring in any caterer. You do have to find your own linens and pay him for alcohol.
