Mariana and her team from A La Heart are truly a gem. Mariana is more than just a caterer, she was so in tune with the whole concept of my vision for my wedding, beyond food/beverage. She is very organized and super responsive to all communication. She helped with ordering linens, tables, glassware and dining ware etc., and figured out exactly what we needed for our day so that things ran flawlessly. Not to mention the food, which is amazing! Mariana and her team are wonderful to work with and a welcome calm presence on a day that sometimes feel hectic. We would hire them again no question about it and I recommend you do too!
Marianna at A La Heart is the best!! The food was incredible, guests from my wedding still talk about how amazing the food was. She also coordinated everything with multiple rental companies to get exactly what we wanted for the chairs, tables, silverware, dance floor, etc. I can’t express enough how happy I am we chose them for our wedding. From set up to take down everything was perfect.
Hands down the BEST caterer we could have ever asked for! Mariana and her team at A La Heart went above and beyond to ensure our wedding went smoothly and perfectly! From the very beginning, Mariana was super responsive and accommodating, and extremely helpful in making sure we knew what all of our options were so that we made the right decisions for what we wanted and for our budget. They also handled all the rentals, which was a total lifesaver when it comes to wedding planning! The food was absolutely incredible, the presentation of everything was beautiful, and our guests are still raving about it!
The level of detail and care Mariana put into our wedding is a true testament to what an amazing person she is and how great she is at her job. Thanks to A La Heart, we knew we could enjoy our wedding day without having to worry about a thing because we knew we were in the best hands!
We cannot say enough good things about A La Heart Catering! The amazing team- chief of ops, chef, servers, event leader and bartenders- helped make our wedding so amazing!!
I could say a lot about the food itself - it was incredible. We got (and keep getting) compliments from guests about how delicious and beautiful the food was. We wanted food that was fun and reflective of our personalities and didn't cost a fortune. We went with a fajita dinner (steak, chicken AND tofu) with award-winning corn bead, simple salad and a ton of different sides (rice, beans, salsas galore). Our appetizers were an absolute hit - pork sliders, grilled cheese & tomato soup shooters, charcuterie displays, etc. It was a great balance of kid/pub food and wine country beauty. To top it all off, we had fondue with donuts, fruit and more! I'm not kidding when I say that everything that was prepared for us during our tasting (and of course the actual wedding day) was delicious. We had a really tough time choosing since A La Heart offers so many wonderful options!
There were a lot of options when selecting a wedding catering company. We were blown away by Mariana's responsiveness, helpfulness and positive attitude. A La Heart is so professional and eager to please in the best ways. I loved how supportive Mariana was of our vision and she's so willing to make things work within budget. I had been so disappointed in our search for fun food that was affordable and bountiful until I found Mariana and her team!
A La Heart does so much more than just serve food- they basically served as wedding planner and coordinator too. Mariana helped think about so many details leading up to the big day that I wouldn't have thought of and it ensured that our day was thoughtful and perfect for our guests. Cinnamon was our Event Leader on our wedding day and made the whole flow of events absolutely seamless.
We are truly going to miss working with A La Heart since it was so easy and delightful. Thank you for all that you did to make our wedding such a great and perfect event!
We got married at The Highlands Estate in September 2017 and hired Mariana and her team at A La Heart to caterer our event. From the moment I spoke with Mariana on the phone, I knew A La Heart would be right for our wedding! First and foremost she was willing to work within our budget which was incredibly important for us in our selection of caterer. We didn't want any surprises when it came to costs and her itemization in detailing out the cost estimate was meticulous and accurate. We also found that A La Heart was much more reasonable in pricing compared to other caterers in wine country. Second, the amount of options they provide spanning from appetizers to main courses are incredible and the food tastes amazing! Everything is fresh, seasonal and provides the perfect farm-to-table vibe. Last, she was incredibly professional, so kind and she has years of experience in the wedding industry. I would highly recommend A La Heart to anyone getting married in wine country or the Bay Area!
A la Heart Catering was by far the best part of our wedding. Marianna and her staff acted more like wedding planners than caterers. They took care of everything from food to rentals to rain plan options, to making sure I had everything I needed leading up to the wedding. Marianna worked SO closely with us to ensure that we got the best price and the best meal for our wedding guests. She went above and beyond to make sure that we had the exact menu we wanted (skinny cut french fries included) and even made our wedding cake, which I was going to make my self, it turned out beyond delicious. There as not ONE thing I would change!! The food was phenomenal and people are still talking about it. The service was spectacular and Cinnamon, the Event Leader was so kind and on top of it from the start that there was never room for error. There are not enough words to show my gratitude and appreciate to Mariana and her staff. It was truly a pleasure to work with them and I would recommend them to anyone in need of amazing food for an event.
They Made My Day!
I have worked with A La Heart for many years in my professional capacity and have entrusted them with many important corporate and charitable events which they have executed flawlessly. So, when it came time to hire a caterer for my own very important event (my wedding!) the decision was a no-brainer. My husband to be was so impressed with the tasting and the pre-wedding communication was very timely and thorough. The day of execution was flawless and they added some special touches they didn't charge me for such as a clever napkin fold for my menu cards. They also surprised us by meeting us at the gate of the wedding garden with trays of champagne which was such a lovely treat and a great first impression for our guests as a transition from the ceremony to the reception. Even the simple appetizers we selected looked gorgeous and tasted amazing. I highly recommend the mushroom risotto...it is a personal favorite and received rave reviews from the guests. I've eaten many of their menu selections and have never had anything I didn't like. Plus, they'll work to create a unique menu for you if you like. Very reliable, dedicated and professional staff. I've seen many of the same catering staff on their team over the years which says a lot for the company. I highly recommend them!
A La Heart did a great job catering our wedding. We really enjoyed the samples when we first met with them that they had freshly prepared, just for us. They also were flexible on the menu and helped us figure out how to navigate different challenges that people planning a wedding are faced with.
They were also transparent and communicative leading up to the wedding; handling adjustments with ease.
On our wedding day they arrived promptly and got everything up and going really swiftly and with little guidance needed. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Bay Area for any kind of catering service.
Even when it came to break-down/clean-up they were mostly invisible to the wedding party leaving no trace behind. It was great!
First, I want to say that the food at my wedding was very tasty and we paid a very reasonable price. But I took off two starts because there were SO many day-of mistakes.
1. The wrong appetizers were served! I selected three appetizers (stuffed mushrooms, pizzeta with figs, and corn fritters)-- my favorite of the three, the corn fritters, was NOT SERVED AT ALL at the wedding, and instead Deb served polenta that I found to be flavorless. When I confronted her about it she said "well your husband liked them! "-- my husband used to eat plain rice with hot sauce for dinner so this doesn't say much.
2. Our bartender was Deb's daughter, and she was a pilot by profession. She did NOT know how to make drinks. The groom's signature drink was a whiskey smash, which she served by pouring Whiskey into a glass then pouring simple syrup on top and garnishing with mint. Essentially all of our guests were handed a water glass full of whiskey when they arrived (but hey, they all got drunk so I guess its okay). The bar ran out of limes before I even arrived at the reception 45 minutes later (after photos) and so she was serving drinks with large pieces of orange already floating in the glass. Everyone complained that she was very slow.
3. We were supposed to receive PLATED salads, which were supposed to be included in the price. THE MORNING OF THE WEDDING, Deb emailed me to tell me that she was not going to do plated salads because she had not ordered enough plates and did not have enough servers. When I complained she said, "You never confirmed the plated salad" even though we had emailed and discussed a few times and I had plated salad written on my timeline that I sent her MONTHS in advance.
4. Seating charts screwed up. The day of coordinator did not have the seating charts on the tables before guests arrived and when she did put them out they were in the wrong places!! Groups of people were split up and my cousins/ bridesmaids ended up near the back and far away from me. I am sure they felt snubbed.
