Adirondack Flower

If you want flowers to arrive at your wedding or event, you should find a DIFFERENT FLORIST! Adirondack Flower could not make this happen for us. They were DISHONEST and blamed us every step of the way for their failures. My wife chose this business because we wanted to support a local company. It was this florist's negligence which wreaked havoc on our wedding. My wife was extremely and understandably upset by what occurred on that day. I asked her to wait a few months to write the review, to allow cooler heads to prevail. Even after all this time, we still have not received an apology or even acceptance of any responsibility. What JoAnn says simply DOES NOT ADD UP. There are 3 things you need to know about this florist before you decide to do business with her. First, JoAnn is DISORGANIZED. My wife went to Adk Flower in mid-March, she explained what she wanted and agreed on a price. On March 22th, my wife stopped back in to let Adk Flower know that she wanted this order delivered, the staff said that no payment was required at that time, but my wife WANTED TO MAKE SURE that everything was order so she insisted that the staff take a PAYMENT OF HALF up front. We paid for DELIVERY. The invoice states that the wedding would be held at NOON on 5/5/18. The invoice states that 50% of the bill needs to be paid 1 week in advance. We did it more than a MONTH before it was required. Staff asked for my wife's e-mail address, and nothing else. My wife was concerned about this and offered a phone number as well. My wife explained that the wedding would be in Saratoga Springs at the Knights of Columbus, which JoAnn KNEW because on the day of, she said she was driving around looking for our wedding. Nothing other than my wife's e-mail addresss written on the invoice, and we accept some responsibility for not being more insistent that more information was taken. Staff at Adk Flower said they preferred to communicate via email. We received NO e-mails from Adk Flower even though they had our e-mail address correctly on the invoice. My wife assumed, based on the staff's insistence that they knew where the wedding was. There are a lot of moving parts to a wedding, and we thought, mistakenly that everything was OK, and we didn't need to worry about the florist, because they do stuff like this all the time. OUR MISTAKE and I accept responsibility for that. Unfortunately that's not where the problems ended. That brings us to the second, and biggest thing you should know about Adk Flower. THEY ARE DISHONEST. My wife called the morning of the wedding once it had become obvious that there was a problem with the flowers. She spoke DIRECTLY with JoAnn who said she was driving around Saratoga Springs in the delivery vehicle looking for our wedding. My wife gave the address to the Knights of Columbus again. This is the part that is ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE and exposed the lies. JoAnn said that she couldn't make the delivery in time, because she would need to go back to Glens Falls to pick up the flowers. My wife asked why the flowers weren't in the delivery vehicle, if JoAnn was driving around looking for our wedding?! That was the point at which JoAnn started blaming my wife for not giving adequate information. This indicated to us that JoAnn was lying, and that there is a very real possibility that the flowers were never ordered at all. My wife, who had remained calm up to this point, understandably lost her cool and spoke to JoAnn in a regrettable way. We apologize for this, and ask anyone who is reading this review to understand that my wife was in her wedding dress and ready to walk down the isle in 30 minutes. JoAnn wanted to argue about whose fault it was, we just wanted the DAMN FLOWERS. The third thing you need to know about Adk Flower is that they ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to any accept responsibility. We accept responsibility for not checking in a week prior to the wedding. We had paid half already and were assured that our flowers would arrive, but had we continued to babysit them after payment, they might have gotten this right.

I would highly recommend this place for flowers! We only used real flowers for the bouquets and the corsages and boutonnieres, but everything was fresh and breathtaking. The lady worked with our budget, knew a lot about flowers, and the extra bouquet to throw so I could keep my original was given free of charge. I got so many compliments about them.
