Alea Beauty was fantastic! I loved everything about my experience with them. They were great to communicate with and they would quickly respond whenever I had a question. They send me reminders about payments, scheduling my hair and makeup preview, and last minute details before I even had a chance to reach out first. I was absolutely thrilled with my hair and makeup. I knew I wanted to book a hair and makeup team rather than two separate groups and I found Alea Beauty right here on the Knot. Carla the owner is so professional, quick to respond and great for advice. The company is completely remote so you can do your trial and bonus session in your home! I booked the Ultimate Bridal Package and I was thrilled with my look. My bridesmaids, mom and mother in law were all thrilled with their looks as well. I got married in MA and worked with the New England team of artists.

Rachel is amazing!! She did an incredible job with my hair & make-up and was such a sweetheart. I was really impressed with how organized and on time they were on the day of the wedding. I would suggest that they organize their messaging system a little better, some of my information would be lost and was forgotten. But overall, I was so happy and impressed with them.

I'm so grateful to Alea for all they did to make my wedding day special. Carla was wonderful to work with from the beginning, and made it super easy to book and manage my details in the portal. Sam totally had my back, from the trial to the wedding day she helped me turn my dreams into reality. I was so happy with how my wedding day makeup and hair turned out, I felt so beautiful and so taken care of. Emily was my girl for my rehearsal day and she also did a phenomenal job on my hair and makeup. Kelly was also with us for our wedding day and my bridesmaids were super happy. Overall 10/10 experience with Alea, would definitely book with them again in a heartbeat!

I can not recommend Alea Beauty enough. Alea Beauty truly delivers on their mission of elevating natural beauty. I don't wear a lot of makeup normally so I wanted to make sure that I still looked like myself. I was so happy with how natural my makeup looked. I also have very fine and thin hair, but was able to have a beautiful updo that made my hair look so full. Carla was great to work with and communicate with. They were incredibly clear and responded in a timely manner. I highly recommend the ultimate bridal package. Having the extra day of service was super great! Sam was the main artist that I worked with and I can not give her enough positive reviews. I had very little vision on what I wanted but she was able to ask great questions to help get to the final look. She was super nice and was able to explain why she was doing what she was doing. She was able to make my older relatives who were also getting their hair and makeup done feel confident and comfortable. Taylor and Abby also were a part of my day-of team and they helped make all of my squad look good.

Wow, wow, wow!! I don't know enough nice things to say about Alea Beauty. They are the most wonderful team of women and all extremely talented. From my bridal trial with Rachel, to the day of the wedding, every little detail was perfect. We had the pleasure of working with Rachel, Casey, and Natalie the day of the wedding and wow, did these women deliver! My bridesmaids told me they have never felt more beautiful after working with these women and each of them were glowing all day. Personally, as the bride, I was brought to tears with the wonderful job Rachel did on my hair and makeup. All three women were kind and comforting and made the morning of my wedding unforgettable! Can't thank this team enough!

The Alea Beauty team was wonderful! They helped me wrangle my 20+ women that needed hair and makeup on the day of the wedding. From the flower girls to grandmothers and everyone in between, everyone felt pampered and beautiful! It was so helpful that they were able to come to our venue to make it as easy as possible for me on our wedding day! They were flexible when we had some last minute changes (as a planner I am so grateful for this), they were able to accommodate a rehearsal look for my bride and from my perspective, kept everyone on time and CALM during a wedding day. Wow, we were so beyond impressed with Alea Beauty. In the planning process, hair and make up was our last vendor on the to do list. As two brides with a small wedding party, we knew we wanted a company that was inclusive and accepting. Our photographer told us about Alea Beauty. From the first set of communication to make up trials to the day of, we were so happy we chose them. We couldn’t be happier that we chose Alea Beauty to be a part of our special day. The wedding was an absolute dream and we owe so much of that to Jessica and Rachel making us look and feel incredible. The two of them were so easy to talk to and provided such a calm presence during a very hectic day. They were the perfect people for us and our bridal party members. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted and that we felt comfortable for a long (and fun) night ahead. Rachel with Alea Beauty was amazing. She is an excellent hair stylist and did a great job on the hair of all my bridal party and myself. She is professional but also helped make our morning getting ready so much fun. She stayed as long as we needed her and never made anyone feel rushed. I would recommend her to anyone! One thing to note with Alea Beauty as a company is that they are not very flexible after you sign the contract (I had one less person getting hair done than I initially thought and they would not provide any kind of refund for this) so just make sure you have your final count before you sign it!

zing and we are so grateful to have her on our team. I apologize you were not satisfied with our policy for making contract changes. We do have one of the more flexible contract policies in the industry. We allow clients to make changes up to 90 days prior to their wedding, which is stated within the contract upon signing. We also check in with our clients multiple times prior to this deadline to see if they need to make adjustments. The reason for the policy is due to the nature of weddings. We block out the amount of artists needed and the amount of time needed exclusively for you based upon the number of services your reserve. Although we offer flexibility in this, we must have a cutoff point for changes. As we get closer to the wedding day our artists are less likely to be able to rebook those services. We highly value our artists' time and out of fairness to them we want to make sure they are compensated for the time they block out for you. Unfortunately, you had informed of us the change just a few weeks prior to your wedding day. We did offer to substitute the service for something else or give everyone a full size touch-up lipstick so you did not suffer any loss. We always want to do what we can in the circumstances, but we realize we cannot always grant every request. We greatly appreciate you as a client and value your feedback. Best, Carla

I cannot say enough good things about Alea Beauty! From the moment you book, they are transparent, accomadting and communicative with everything about your day. And they’re so beyond professional. The portal was amazing to book through and to easily see all the services that I had selected. They were so easy to talk with if I had to make changes. Ok so now I’m going to gush about Leigh Ann, my artist. She was incredible. She was fun and approachable and incredibly talented. I actually went for a second hair trial when I decided I wanted to go a different direction and she was so accommodating. She made me feel comfortable and that I could share my opinion without getting defensive or offended! It created such a wonderful collaborative relationship that resulted in a perfect look! The whole team that showed up for my day (4 artists in total) were all amazing. I loved that they had an elevated natural vibe for the makeup. All of my girls and the moms looked stunning, but still like themselves. They were prompt and got us all done a little early which was a huge stress relief! I promise booking Alea is worth it. From the end product to professionalism and everything in between, they were a vendor I immediately trusted and would not hesitate to recommend.

Carla and her team were absolutely amazing throughout all of my wedding planning! Between my engagement party and my rehearsal dinner trials, to the big day, everything was perfect. Alea beauty went above and beyond and were so responsive when I had questions, and my wedding day hair and makeup lasted all day through the tears and the dance floor! Carla also helped me order my halo extensions which made all the difference in making my dream wedding look come to life. I couldn’t be happier and all of my bridesmaids raves about their services as well!

I booked 8 months ahead. I was told I needed to wait till a few weeks before my wedding date for trial so weather/skin would be similar on my wedding day. It was known I was traveling from out of state( 5hr drive). 1 hour before my apt it was canceled due to artist being sick. This left me not many options to book due to work restrictions. They offered a full refund. I agreed on 9/5/23. A month later I am still waiting for my refund. I am sure they do great work but customer service is not great with follow through.

I am very sorry that our service did not live up to your expectations. We try our utmost to ensure that our clients have a positive experience. From our ratings and reviews, you can see that we do a great job of delivering, at multiple locations, across multiple years. As for the optional previews (aka trials), we do recommend that those are scheduled closer to the wedding day. The reason, everything will be finalized: veil, accessories, length of hair, extensions ordered, and your hair, skin, and the climate will be most like it will be on the actual day. Additionally, it will be fresh in the mind of both you and your artist. That being said, we are, and have been flexible, to do our best to accommodate your schedule, especially for our out of town brides. We do have certain, industry-common, limitations, which is why they are noted in your contract. The main reason being that we cannot accommodate previews on weekends because we are likely with our brides, especially during busy summer months, such as August. The bulk of our work is on the weekend. Our artists typically get up at 3 or 4am to work 12-16 hours on Friday-Sunday, working a 30-40+ hour work week in 3 days during peak season. Most of our artists also work in salons during the week on top of that. Add to that, they have families and personal lives and sometimes they get sick. Unfortunately, your artist awoke the morning of your appointment extremely ill and had no choice but to reschedule. When an artist gets sick on a wedding day, we send another artist. For a preview, we attempt to reschedule before switching your artist so as to not disrupt the entire wedding day schedule. Your appointment was in the afternoon and you were notified at 8am, not an hour ahead like you stated. Knowing that your mother was traveling from out of town with you, we offered to reschedule with a different artist, but you expressed you'd like to stay with your original one. We then had a thread of over 20 emails trying to accommodate you. You had very narrow parameters as to when you were available and your original artist could not meet those. We then offered for you to work directly with our owner and you still refused, at the same lower rate. We also offered the option of a video appointment knowing that your schedule was limited. Again, you refused all our attempts to work with you. At this point, we had no other options and we offered to let you out of your contract, with a full refund, which we were not contractually obligated to do, as it seemed no matter what we did you would not be happy. Per our contract, refunds can take up to 14 days to process as it has to go to our accounting office, who handles many clients. Your wedding was scheduled on 9/16. The card we had on final for you was no longer valid, so we reached out to see how you would like us to send your payment. You requested a check by mail, which was sent. Throughout the process, we have replied to all your emails and phone calls, usually within 24 hours with the exception of some weekends for obvious reasons outlined above. At no time have you been ignored. Again, we are very sorry that you were not happy and chose to not work with us following your artist getting sick. We take customer service very seriously and appreciate the opportunity to learn how we can better serve both our clients and our team. Wishing you all the best and congratulations on your wedding. I am so glad I chose Alea Beauty to do my hair & makeup for my wedding!! Carla and Paige were wonderful to work with and were so fun. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day! We ended up having thunderstorms and being very humid on my wedding day, and our wedding was mostly outside, under a pavilion without siding. My hair and makeup held up ALL DAY AND NIGHT against the weather - my venue coordinator was so impressed she said she'd never seen anyone's hair and makeup last through this kind of weather like mine did! 10/10!!

Leigh Ann, Rachel, and Alli were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. They worked around my erratic medical residency schedule to coordinate our planning sessions. We had a very large party of 12 wedding party members + 2 moms + myself. They arrived in a timely manner despite our airbnb being an hour north of Columbus down a difficult to find dirt road. They put me and my party at ease during our morning and did an amazing job. I was unable to do a trial session because I live out of state, but I had nothing to worry about. Other makeup artists have had difficulty matching my pale complexion, but Leigh Ann’s makeup was perfectly blended for the natural look I had envisioned. Rachel also did a great job walking through any concerns or insecurities I may have had prior to and the day-of to ensure I was happy with my final look. ~Stephanie

If I could give Carla 10 stars I would. It took me a long time to find a vendor since I'm a perfectionist. When I spoke to Carla on the phone, I knew she was the right fit. She asked me what I wanted, looked at pictures, and explained how I would feel with those looks and what they would entail (e.g. will it feel like a lot of make up, will I need hair extensions, etc). After speaking with her, I felt at ease. The preview was a fabulous experience. She was patient, kind, and calm. The few times I asked if she could change something, I realized what she did originally was perfect. She knows what she's doing! The wedding day was perfect. It's so important to choose someone whose energy and personality align with yours, since you will spend half a day with your hair and makeup artist(s). She gave me a cute bag with all the necessary touch up essentials, but I barely needed them! Carla is a master at what she does. I couldn't be happier!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Alea Beauty! As someone who really does not wear much makeup or bother to do my hair most days, my top hair/makeup priority on my wedding day was to still look like myself. Enter Alea's "you but elevated" ethos. Communicating and booking was seamless - it was so easy to choose the right package for us. Leigh Ann was amazing in my preview session, and even gave my groom a tutorial on how to properly place my veil (as part of a religious pre-ceremony ritual). On wedding day, Leigh Ann and Natalie provided hair and makeup for two bridesmaids, the mother of the bride (who has never been happy after anyone has touched her hair... ever!) and me, the bride. They handled themselves with warm professionalism and were clearly extremely experienced, knowledgeable and, yet, speedy! They matched and embraced our overall getting ready vibe while diligently performing their tasks with skill. They adapted easily to the surroundings and came extremely well prepared. It was so great working with Alea Beauty! As someone who is not typically a "makeup person" or who has her hair done regularly, I was skeptical and nervous about the whole process. However, from the first 5 minutes of my trial, I knew it was going to be better than just okay. Denise made me feel completely at ease, listened to what I wanted, and asked for my feedback every step of the way. At the end, I was super excited at how it all turned out. On the big day, Denise and Taylor were wonderful and made me and all my bridesmaids feel totally at-ease and calm. I was particularly thankful for Denise's flexibility when she learned that both me and my mom had gotten new inspiration for our hairstyles at the last minute. She made an easy transition from what we practiced at the trial and it came out exactly as I had envisioned it would. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Alea Beauty was such a fantastic choice for my wedding day. Sam and Katie were wonderful - so personable, laid back, and of course great with hair and makeup. For someone who wears pretty minimal makeup, this was a great choice. Sam and Katie made me feel like an elevated version of myself but made sure I still felt comfortable and looked how I wanted to. We had a great time getting ready and all appreciated their efficiency and professionalism (we even ended up running ahead of schedule!). Leading up to the wedding, Natalie was incredibly communicative and responsive - making it a smooth and easy process to coordinate for the day. I just got married and Alea Beauty was one of the best decisions I made when choosing vendors! 12/10 would recommend to anyone that I can! I was so nervous to find a beauty vendor for my wedding and I wasn't getting good responses or pricing; let me just say, having those items listed clearly upon inquiry or on site are what gets you 75% of my attention for business. They have a very user friendly online portal and your main contact would be with Carla as she coordinates everything else behind the scenes. When I first had my phone meeting to gain more information, Carla sold me within the 1st 5 mins, it was just a matter of confirming the pricing seen on their brochure and that they could accommodate my party size within the allotted time. After that meeting I could not wait to lock them down as my vendor! My beauty techs assigned to me were Rachel & Alli and could not have been more pleased with both my bridal trials and wedding day. Both Rachel and Alli are super sweet, down to earth and very well versed in their trades. I met Rachel for my Hair Trial first and we could not stop talking. She put me at ease and was very easy to open up to, I showed her my inspiration and left the rest to her. Toward the end of the trial, it was (what I felt was) an exact replica of what I asked for. By the time my Makeup Trail came around, Alli was very clear to ask about any allergies and what I typically do for my makeup routines. Outside of me mentioning my sensitive skin and not doing a lot of make up or wearing makeup regularly to Carla, I feel Alli would ask those questions of anyone. She is a well-versed esthetician and stays up to date on trying to use as many natural products that do that job it needs to do. Pardon if I don't explain that right, but as she knows, "I don't do make up" but I am trying to and also trying to better my skin care regimen. She replicated my look to exactly what I wanted based my inspiration and the fact that I said "I want simple glam". She nailed it; it was such an elevated look and nothing felt cakey and my skin was the softest it had been in days! After the trial, she was also open to sharing the links to the products she used on me so add to my skin care regimen as I told her I was struggling with red and dry skin; what a game changer! Both artists did say they were open to any last minute changes on looks, not that I needed or wanted anything major, but I loved and appreciated how open and accommodating they were. On the wedding day, they managed their time super wisely and even coordinated with the photographer for some "in action shots"! Will definitely share those with Alea the moment I have my portraits. Everything went seamlessly and, in my opinion, honestly didn't feel like another "job" to them. I have had previous experiences in other bridal parties where I tell the technician I trust their judgment because it is better than literally anything I could attempt to do and I would get told, "oh you don't have the right look or hair" as if to manage my expectations even though I know that I don't look exactly like the model photo, but not Alli or Rachel with Alea! They were open to the challenge and excited to get the looks that the girls and I were going for. So glad I found them. Long story short, go with Alea! They've got it all and their pricing is very reasonable; well worth the experience that they provide. <3

All the artists we worked with were very professional and friendly and worked efficiently - we were all ready with plenty of time to relax before the wedding. Everyone's hair and make up stayed in place the whole day despite tears and lots of dancing at the wedding.

The hair and makeup artists from Alea Beauty were very skilled and very professional. My bridesmaids and I rarely wear makeup, so their expertise was much appreciated. We loved working with Alea Beauty for our wedding! Carla was extremely helpful as we figured out our getting ready timeline. My partner and I had a morning wedding, and the whole team arrived very early (6 am!) to get us started on our day. Our stylist Rachel, in addition to being a hair/makeup genius, was an excellent listener and gave us exactly what we asked for. I'm not someone who wears a lot of makeup, and she made me feel very comfortable and helped me to find a gorgeous natural look for my wedding. I loved the way that I looked, and my hair and makeup stayed intact all day. I would recommend Alea to anyone, but for queer couples in particular: Alea is the real deal. My spouse and I live in San Francisco and had mixed experiences with vendors while planning our queer wedding in Columbus. Everyone at Alea was wonderful to us. They used our correct pronouns, there was no pressure to change our gender presentations for our wedding day - they made us look like more elegant versions of ourselves. A wonderful experience all around - highly, highly recommend!

Let me first say that we all looked STUNNING. The team brought in for our day were efficient and helped us all feel effortlessly beautiful. The booking process for Alea was super organized and efficient - loved the portal and platform for communication and payment. The packages were creative and competitively priced for the amount of talent the team brings. Alea is a group of artists so you may not know who your stylist will be until closer to the wedding date. We did run into some scheduling and availability challenges the week of the wedding due to personal events on the Alea team, but with additional communication, the team heard my concerns and made sure we were super prepared for wedding day. Samantha DeAngelo was a true stand out - so calming, talented, adaptive, and sweet!
