I am leaving a 3 star review, as I have been to Alexandra's twice now (once for myself, and once for my soon-to-be sister-in-law) and both experiences were complete polar opposites of each other. One I would give 5 stars and the other 0... so 3... is my happy medium.
When I visited in September 2022, I was looking for a wedding dress for myself, and my consultant was Sandra (Sandy) Jackson. Sandy was extremely pushy and very much unwilling to listen to any of my thoughts and ideas. I wanted to go into this appointment with a very open mind, as I had little luck at past bridal boutiques, but Sandy was of the mindset that I "had to know" exactly what I wanted and expressed disapproval when I asked to try on something that strayed from my initial vision. I felt extremely judged by Sandy, in my decisions, opinions, and dress choices, and this led to an overall stressful and unpleasant experience. I would like to add that I ~did~ end up finding a dress, but this was NOT because of Sandy—it seemed like divine intervention as I ran into a designer who was present for a trunk show and walking by my dressing room with a dress draped over her shoulder, that I asked to try on and then fell in love with. I later discovered, after taking my dress for alterations elsewhere (because I was dissatisfied with my Alexandras experience at this point and did not want to go back), that Sandy sized me incorrectly and provided a lot of false information about what alterations would be possible with my particular dress.
I never wrote a review after my experience because I 1) didn't want to relive it, and 2) convinced myself that it must have been what a "normal" experience is supposed to be like. I am writing now, however, because I visited Alexandras again this past weekend (August 2023) as a support for my sister-in-law who was looking for her wedding dress, and the entire experience was WONDERFUL and WORLDS DIFFERENT from mine. Her stylist was Kiana and we LOVED her. Kiana was sweet and kind and welcoming and down to Earth and the ultimate hype-woman. She listened to my sister-in-law and asked her questions, and I could tell that she genuinely cared and WANTED her to find the dream dress. Kiana felt like a combination of a best friend and part of the family. She at no point put any pressure on my sister-in-law to make a decision, and was open to her trying on several different styles and silhouettes. Kiana was also SO knowledgable about everything—showing us different bustle options and talking through alteration options and possibilities. I was SO HAPPY that my sister-in-law was able to have this amazing, magical experience...but at the same time I was feeling a little heartbroken that the same type of experience was robbed from me.
I just wanted to provide you with the insight of these drastically different experiences. After my visit, I honestly told a lot of people that I would not recommend your boutique. After this weekend, I would amend my opinion... as I do recommend the boutique, but with the right stylist...with Kiana!
