Allen's Wine & Spirits

Allen's Wine & Spirits catered my wedding at the Glen Manor in Portsmouth. Without having any experience planning an event of this size (around 100 people) it was hard to guess at the amount of alcohol we would need. Luckily, I heard about Allen's Wine and Spirits from the venue, and they came highly recommended. I reached out to them and Alex immediately put me at ease. Not only did he work with me to figure out what the right amount of alcohol would be, he also gave me good suggestions, and flagged any special deals or savings that he could offer on a particular brand vs another. The best part, is they offer to buy back any unopened bottles from you, so that you can have a few extras and not worry about running out of booze (imagine that)! We were coming out of state, so another big boon to us was how professionally Allen's handled all of the day-of coordination. They coordinated the drop off and pick up directly with the venue (Glen Manor) and the caterer (Russel Morin). All in all, we had a perfect experience and if you are looking to have someone cater your event, look no further!

My husband and I used Allen's Wine & Spirits to provide the alcohol for our wedding this past May. Our caterer Glorious Affairs recommended going through them to purchase our own alcohol as a way to potentially save money (which we did!!). We were having a Sunday evening wedding, and we weren't really sure how much our guests would be drinking. Alex was super helpful in guiding us to the best options within our price range. Then when my Dad stepped in and complained/requested other options Alex continued to be super kind and helpful until we settled on a really wonderful selection of wine, beer, and sparkling options for the day. We wound up having plenty of drinks for our guests, including some leftover after the wedding, which saved us a good bit of money in the end! I also really appreciated that Allen's Wine & Spirits dropped the alcohol off at the venue and picked up the leftovers at the end of the event. That was really helpful, since on the wedding day there are so many details to worry about. It was nice not to have to worry about the alcohol at all. They also kept the bottles with damaged labels for us so that we could keep them for ourselves for our own use. We'll be using them for a house-warming party sometime in the near future! I am so appreciative for the kindness of Alex and everyone at Allen's Wine & Spirits! They did such an amazing job, and I highly recommend them!

My husband and I worked with Alex for our wedding day and post-wedding sail. Our wedding venue, Glen Manor House, recommended his store. We were seeking a liquor store that would deliver, pick up leftovers and allow us to return anything that was unused. Their service was great! Alex was knowledgeable, patient (with multiple rounds of revisions) and responsive. We appreciated his recommendations and his quantity estimations were close to perfect. We were also impressed that he was able to order specific wines (for our events) that were not sold within his store. That added to the personalization of our selections. Alex’s coordination of delivery and pickup details with our vendors was incredibly helpful to us! Once our selections were made, we no longer had to think about it. He was reliable and delivered on his promises. Lastly, we didn’t have to pay for anything until all of our returns were processed. This was unexpected, and we appreciated not having to deal with refunds. We were also able to save some money by using his store rather than our caterer. We would use Allen’s again for any event!
