James Simmons was very approachable from the beginning. He took his time to make our special day unique and personal. He was also very flexible and understanding. We got a lot of compliments by our guest saying he made them feel at ease. Over all he was amazing!!!!!!

When my Husband and I were looking for officiants James Simmons stood out the most. We were able to meet with him through Zoom and he walked us through the ceremony when we didn’t even know where to begin. He was able to help me visualize my wedding before it began which brought tears to my eyes. We knew at that moment he was our guy. His experience is extensive and his charisma was off the charts. He offered extra time, a family dinner, and a willingness to travel far for us. His story about his unity ceremony with his wife moved us so much that we too did the wine box ceremony for our wedding. I was busy getting ready for the wedding so I did not get to see him much beforehand but my husband told me how well he mingled with our families. The ceremony AC broke during our ceremony (Texas in June is not a great combination) but he didn’t even flinch. He conducted the ceremony just how I imagined and I so thankful for him being there for us. It was such a relief while we were planning the wedding to know that the ceremony was in great hands. He even helped walk us through the marriage license and informed us of many other recommendations which we didn’t think of at the time. From the little time we have known him it was very apparent that he is a family centered man and truly a genuine person (which often is hard to find these days). I would highly recommend him to any of our friends looking for an officiant!

He is prsonable, funny, and clearly koves what he does. He was super helpful in getting us started on what to write/say during the ceremony. He was also open to ideas as well. During the ceremony he did exactly what we asked for. We had several guests comment on how awesome he was and asked if he was a family friend since he seemed to know us so well as a couple. 2 weeks of being married and a quick shout out to @austinareaweddings and Rev James Simmons. We knew straight away from his smiling face on his website and videos that we wanted James to be our officiant to marry us. This decision was solidified when we did a zoom call with him a few weeks into choosing James. He made the process from start to finish a breeze and went through how the ceremony would work and was available at all times to answer any questions. Making us feel completely at ease all the way through. On the day itself James conducted the ceremony in such a beautiful enthusiastic way. Receiving so many compliments from our guests afterwards. We will never forgot our beautiful day and certainly never forget James. Anyone getting married in Texas, there should not be a doubt in your mind who should conduct your ceremony.

We had a destination wedding in Austin. We didn’t know anyone, didn’t know where to start, and read reviews hoping to land someone that would fit our personalities. We met James through Zoom, called, texted, had so many questions and he had all the answers. He will customize your ceremony exactly how you want it. He is the bridge between the dj/mc and wedding coordinator. He makes the guests engaged and comfortable. He takes care of the details. And careful- he will bring you to tears of joy. He’s absolutely phenomenal. Heart of gold, years of experience, and it really shows!

My husband and I absolutely adored working with James! He’s incredibly positive, sweet, and he LISTENS. He made our wedding flow so naturally and it took a huge weight off of our shoulders to have him there. 10/10 RECOMMEND!!!! you will not regret it.

My husband and I's main criteria for choosing an officiant was that he had to have charisma, look hearty and have a Texas twang. Rev. Simmons blew all of our expectations out of the water and delivered even more than that— he is the consummate professional. A great speaker with an impeccable sense of balance between seriousness and humor. Everyone at our wedding raved about how it seemed like he was an old friend of ours! He also dropped off our marriage license immediately and even fixed an issue with one of our signatures the same day we got notice of it. Don't bother looking any further— this is your guy!

Having James marry us was like finding a new best friend you feel like you've known since you were a kid and they just happened to be ordained! He is humble, sincere, humorous, and can read the crowd/couple. We were nervous day-of (duh) but once James started his spiel, we both felt at ease and let his words wash over us in comfortable familiarity. Clearly James has done this hundreds of times so he knows the phrasing and timing, but it still had our personalization and desire level of serious:humour ratio. I cannot recommend James highly enough, he is a commensurate professional and overall gem of human.
