I went to Bellevue my second time around after a previous outing where I didnt love anything. I had narrowed down my preferences and went to Bellevue with the hopes of finding “the” dress. As a size 18, I only had a few options to try on in my ...size. That’s disappointing, but I understand not being able to have sample sizes available for every size. I like one and loved another but it didn’t fit all the way, needed just a little more give in the chest and hips. The third one I died for but the largest they had to try on was a 10 so she had to pin it to me. While this was better than not trying it on, I didn’t want to buy a dress without trying it on for comfort - I need to be able to dance and sit down at the wedding, but I never expressed that to the woman at Bellevue. So she told me my options were that they would call designers to see if they had other sample sizes that I could pay $100 to have them ship to Bellevue for me to try on - perfect!! I asked about other retailers that carried the designers and confirmed with her she would reach out as some of their partners may have access to samples in my size. I understood if other retailers had it they could also ship to Bellevue for a cost.
Told me she would call next day. Long story short I receive a few emails over the course of the next few days pretty much telling me it’s a no go. I wrote back asking about others who also carry the designer and (jokingly) asked if I should contact them and she replied that I should. Confused, I asked her if she was actually telling me to take my business elsewhere, and she was!
She didn’t even ask me if I wanted to purchase one of the dresses I loved, offered zero help with other options (I figured she would at least mention a seamstress being able to alter the dress if it came in and I needed parts fixed!), and never once asked what I wanted to do next since they couldn’t find my size.
The lack of communication, resistance to help and doing the absolutely bare minimum for customer service was extremely disappointing to say the least. Especially because I had such a great experience in there trying on the dresses.
If you don’t fit into sample sizes, they will not provide you with customer service to find other options. Huge huge let down.
