I cannot say enough good things about Blue House Catering. Ron, the owner, is a joy to work with - responds very quickly to emails, flexible, no-nonsense, and no drama. If you ask him whether he can do something, chances are he'll figure out a ...way to do it. Pricing is reasonable and straightforward (unlike some other caterers who had a lower per-head cost for the food, but then wanted to charge me for plates and silverware, for example). The staff who were there on the wedding day itself were amazing - we had a buffet, so I figured we'd have a bunch of food up at the front and a guy hanging out in the corner watching to make sure we didn't run out of rolls. But no - the staff were everywhere, refilling water glasses, checking to make sure people were doing ok, pouring wine (we bought our own wine and they served it for us - awesome), cutting the cake lightning-fast, then bringing around coffee. It was so much more like having a plated dinner than I would have expected - totally elegant and lovely. Oh, and did I mention that they also flipped the room for us between the ceremony and the reception, and set it up perfectly on the basis of a diagram and photo I'd given them? Finally, the food. Oh, you guys, the food. It was so good. You know how you go to a wedding and you get a sad dry piece of chicken and some sad green beans and a roll, and you're like, oh, wedding food? This was not that. This was delicious, moist chicken, beautiful roasted vegetables, lovely pasta. (Oh, and that reminds me - Ron was also incredibly helpful in including stuff for our vegan guests - really good vegan stuff - as well as for our carnivorous selves.) It was not wedding food. Just food. Tasty food. Yeah. Blue House Catering wins.
