I just celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary...and I bought my dress and veil here back in 1993. The fact that this place is still on the map at the very least reflects staying power! It's definitely a vibe. And I know I waited awhile to leave a review...I had a really good experience back then, and I hope all brides to be find their perfect gown for the special day! 🩷
Linda was amazing! Had a wonderful experience in a clean beautiful well maintained store!! I highly recommend for others to give them a shot!!
My mom, sister and I went to meet with Linda. We absolutely loved the laid back atmosphere, no pressure for what we wanted to do which was just try on Gowns for the first time. We got to pick from the many racks and try on as many as I wanted. After the first couple Linda truly got me in dresses that I started to love more and more. Needless to say after only 6 dresses I found the one!! Linda was so accommodating with letting us take pictures, have as much time as we wanted and really get the feel for everything. I can't believe I found a dress at my first place , but I could not be thankful enough that it was at Bridaltown and with Linda. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone!!! It may look outdated and may not be the in your face experience some may be looking for, but it was perfect for me!!!
OMG! Thought this building was an old vacant building that could not possibly be an open bridal shop.
The place stunk so bad, and not surprising since there are sections of the roof and walls that are water stained and or falling down. Also, there were not many price tags on the dresses, so you have to ask the sale women the price and she has to call the owner for the price. Seems VERY shady to me and why not just have the prices on each dress so you can shop and not feel like you are being stereotyped or something.
Lastly most if not all the dresses looked to be either worn before or sitting so long they are starting to look yellowish.
Driving up, the site was a bit dated but quaint and pretty. I worked with the owner to try on dresses - she even went as far as to get us a space on the first floor so that my elderly grandmother wouldn't have to walk up steps. She carried down tons of dresses from the second floor for us. She even stayed open late to make sure I got the dress I wanted. She was extremely caring, accommodating and thoughtful.
I only give 4 stars because I don't live in the area and while they accommodated my needs to ship the dress to me, it was hard to get in touch with their shipping services and the communications were unclear on when it was going to arrive. They assured me it would arrive on time, which it did and although I was a little freaked out at the time, everything worked out perfectly in the end. I would absolutely recommend Bridaltown to anyone looking for the dress of their dreams on a budget.
I drove 5 hours to get to this store and I was so nervous since the reviews were not good. If you look past the ugly building and the outdated decor this place is great. I needed a shop that had a lot of dresses and a dress I could buy off the rack and this place had both. I tried on probably 30 dresses and had trouble narrowing it down to just one. I was there from 10:30 to 2:30 and my consultant was amazing the whole time. I went on a Sunday and bought a dress for more than 50% off. My maid of honor sent them a thank you card and I gave my consultant a big tip. If you want a quality dress for an amazing price go here!
When I initially came to Bridal town I was a little nervous because of the reviews. But I received great customer service from Jen who helped me try on a variety of dresses in front of 6 of my family members. When we went upstairs I found the dress of my dreams on the rack. She helped me get into it and show it to my family. We all cried! I knew I was on a tight budget but they gave us an amazing deal. I paid less then 75% for the retail value of the dress. I was very excited. I then got the chance to work with Elsie who is the seamstress. She was amazing for being the a little elder German women. She reminded me of my grand mom. She made sure my dress fit perfect even to the very end when I waited for the last touch ups. The day of my wedding I felt beautiful and everyone thought my dress was stunning!!!
This place is horrible. I ordered a size 4 and when my dress came in it was a size 12!! We spoke with the owner on the phone and he did not care. He yelled and was mad to be bothered on his day off. He blamed everything on his employee and tried to say the dress should not have been showed to me. I waited 4 months for the wrong dress and they had no sympathy for their mistake. I was supposed to receive a phone call about when a new dress would be in because they wouldn't give a refund and they never called ssshowedstotome.
Bridaltown had a lot of bridesmaids and flower girl dresses to see/try on. The employees were very friendly, but I didn't have a lot of confidence when it came to taking sizes for my bridesmaids. She was measuring everyone differently, and came up with sizes that were several sizes larger than what they were going to order. I understand that some dresses are made differently, but when they finally came in and my girls went to their own tailors, every single dress had to be taken in several inches. I even had a small argument with the employee the night that my girls were being measured. I know that they mark up the dress prices for services, but I wasn't pleased with the services provided. In the end, my girls looked beautiful in their dresses, but I would warn future bridal parties about the measurement process.
I loved the dress I got from Bridaltown. I was a little disappointed when my bustle partially broke. The prices change on the owners whim so you never know if you are getting the best deal.
Went to Bridaltown just to look. My consultant said she had the perfect dress for me-and she was right. Tried on others, but that was it. Bridesmaids dresses were gorgeous as well and in the exact shade I wanted. All dresses and alterations were done on time and were perfect.
I am a plus sized bride, so I had a lot of apprehension about dress shopping. Bridaltown's website lets you read reviews & choose a consultant, so I was able to work with someone recommended by other plus suite brides. Linda was very kind - even though I went shopping with a group of 11! I got my dress 50% off - their Sunday special! Anna in alterations is so sweet! The selection here isn't huge, but the service is outstanding & I found my perfect dress!
My dress was beautiful and fit me perfectly...but my experience was not very good, I called ahead for an appointment, showed up at my schedule time and they said that they did not have anyone to show me the gowns after waiting for 20 mins or so my sister in law went up and asked to speak to the manager, the manager (a73 year old man) took it oponed him self to show us around, at this I had no one helping me in and out of gown or even showing me the right sizes. It was very disappointing experience to say the leased!!
Promises everything and delivers nothing. Very rude!!!!
My dress was better than i had dreamed and i got the sample dress at a steal. two pieces dress with a second party skirt and jacket and purse and shawl for around $600. Like i said great value but the service was very poor and i almost didn't get my dress on time. I had to fight twice after driving the hour and a half to pick it up and it wasn't even ready. Even though they called me to say it was and made a pick up appointment for me. Then I was told the dress might not be able to be cleaned in time for my wedding which was 6 weeks away and i should just take it and clean it my self. Had to fight for the cleaning as well. In the end I got the dress 2 weeks before my wedding, it was beautiful. But still never received an apology for the mess up or the extremely nasty employee or refused to let me see the manager/owner because apparently he was bizy. I would definitely not go through the hassle of shopping there again even though the dresses are beautiful.
I got married on November 11th, 2012. i used Bridaltown for my wedding dress and I absolutely loved the selection. In the end I was very please with my dress but the service was terrible. The atmosphere of the shop is 1970s old ranch and it has not been updated since. I paid for everything at once, dress, alterations ect...after I read all of the alteration reviews online I decided to use another alteration place after I already paid at Bridaltown. I could not chance my dress falling apart at my wedding. Bridaltown does not communicate well, if you are not on top of them about your order you will never get it because they dont call when it comes in. In addition they charge for weekend alterations which is not explained until you get there and they ask for you to pay the fee. Although I got a beautiful dress from here I would not ever go back.
When I came to bridal town I was at the point where I did not care what I wore on my wedding day. I tried of three dress and found the one. They was having a trunk sale plus if you paid for the dress up front you got another discountso that made the dress of dreams affordable!!!!!!
My mother and I made the trek from Philadelphia to Collegeville, and unfortunately it was not worth it. When we arrived, they said they were closing soon and believed my appointment was half an hour earlier. It was not and they agreed to still work with me to find a wedding dress. My consultant seemed like a nice woman, but was fighting a cold and I was worried about catching it as well throughout the entire consultation. The owner was really the irritating part of the experience. He decided to follow myself, my mother, and the consultant to look at gowns. He hovered over her and corrected her in a very unprofessional way. He talked up the more expensive dresses and actually criticized the dress that I liked the most. He said the dresses were so affordable because they are all knock offs made in China, but in reality they cost more than at other salons with the real designer gowns. One dress I found at Ashley's Bridal Shop was over $500 more at this store! And as I said, it's a poorer quality knock off design. Please do not come here, the quality and service are extremely poor.
When I went to purchase my dress my consultant listened to everything I had mentioned I wanted and didnt want. I wound up picking out a beautiful dress. Dresses take a while to come in (approx 6 months), and when I went to pick it up it came in a bag wrinkled. I wasnt pleased. The seamstress was very rude. My tiara wasnt not ready when I picked up my dress either, however they did ship it to me once it came in.
Though I loved my dress that was purchased from Bridaltown, I did not have the best experience. When I was originally measured for my gown, the woman measured me incorrectly and my dress did not fit me. Though they were able to take out the side seams so that I was able to get into my dress, it did not fit me correctly and it made for a very stressful situation for me. Though they eventually paid for the alterations for my dress, if I could go back, I would have found my dress elsewhere.
First off I have to say when I originally found my dress the lady was fabulous. However, after I purchased my dress the level of service went down hill. I suggest if you find your dress take it home with you so nothing happens to it. The seamstress is a miracle worker and she is just a really nice person. The place is in need of an extreme makeover but they have quality dresses at quality prices
If you can, go elsewhere....while the lady, Catherine who helped me was nice, they do a lot of high pressure to get you to buy your dress on the first visit....and then they nickle and dime you, still not sure how they are able to charge me an additional $50 for my gown because it is plus-sized when it is already priced in the size....very shady owner....the place is not kept well, smells like mildew and looks like something out of a B horror flick.....by the time I was done there, dress $600, plus-sized charge $50, alterations $500, Bag $20, Veil $65.....and I'm pretty sure the gown came from China, it never came in when it was supposed to and no one called me to tell me even though I had an alterations appointment. And they never call you back.
remember the old saying, don't judge a book by it's cover? pulling into this place, i almost turned around because of the tacky outside dwelling. i decided i was close to desperation point, so i might as well just go in and get a laugh. i was greeted by THE most non-pressure awesome bridal consultant, gail. she asked all the right questions and LISTENED to what i said i had in mind as far as look and budget. she was awesome and introduced me to THE dress. it was exactly what i had in my head and $100+ below my budget. i love my dress and didn't even spend $400. gail was no pressure, no frills, and like I said, she listened to me. amazing experience.
bridaltown was absolutely horrible. they brought in the wrong dress and their customer service was absolutely terrible. do not go there.
There are beautiful gowns that are reasonably priced. However, I recommend that you buy your dress right on the spot...do not order it, unless you are ordering it at least 1 year in advance. I ordered mines 6 months in advance and 45 days before my wedding no one knew when my gown was going to arrive. My bridal consultant that I originally ordered my gown with left the company about 2 weeks later so I couldn't reference her, again, no one else knew much about my order. In addition, I ordered my 6 bridesmaids gowns, my mother's gown and my Godmother's gown from here as well, from the same bridal consultant but again, because she was no longer with the company when these gowns would arrive was a mistery. I had to constantly call and call and call just to get answers. Mr. Titz is the son-in-law of the owner (Mr. Bitner) and he pretends to be concerned but I am not certain that he cares at all because once they have your money that is it...there is no refund and if your gown doesn't come in time for your wedding then you're up, you know what creek! Next, my gown finally arrived 3 weeks before my wedding but my veil never came so I ended up buying a veil off the rack, it was $100 cheaper then the veil I paid for but they refused to refund me the difference and I needed a veil so I had to do what I had to do. The alterations there, I could not comment on because I was so tired of all of the nonsence that my girl's and I took our dressed to another seemstress. I will say that my gown was definitely something that looked like I stepped of of the cover page of a magazine and believe me you have the feeling of once you've seen one dress, you've seen them all but my wedding was on September 4, 2011 and people are still complimenting me on my gown (all over facebook:-)). Also, the store is a bit outdated and run down, a lot of stains on the floor and a bit of a muggy smell to it but again, the price, quality and choices are right!
I got a really nice dress for an awesome price but they are hard to find. Many dresses that look cheap. Consultant was not helpful at all and pushed the sale too hard.
I loved Bridaltown! I think the dresses are so unique compared to some of the other "chain" stores. My ballgown was so gorgeous people are still talking about it!
I absolutely loved Bridaltown. They let me try on all the dresses I liked and were able to get my dress in for me quickly. They did everything possible so that I would have my dress a week before the wedding even though I ordered it only 3 months before my wedding day!
On my first trip to try on dresses, I found the perfect one at Bridaltown. At first I was a little nervous since the building is a big pink monstrocity but it adds to the charm. They brought dresses that fit my budget and what they thought would flatter my body. I found the perfect dress and it was something I never thought I would pick...and I came in under budget. Alterations were done on site and that was also perfect.
This is horrible, terrible business and should be closed down. The owner is a mean, nasty liar who likes making girl's cry (he laughed at me while I was crying). The staff failed to order 3 out of 6 of my bridesmaid's gowns. They didn't even do anything until channel 6 and channel 10 news got involved. Check out their "F" rating on the BBB website. I finally got the rest of my dresses less than two weeks before the day. Thanks to some wonderful seamstress' the dress where able to be hemmed and fitted at the last minute. Save yourself the hassle and don't put money in the pocket of a monster.
There was an amazing selection for brides on a budget! great service!
