We are not super familiar with La Jolla and were looking to have our rehearsal dinner as close to the beach as possible. Enter The Knot and Brockton Villa.
From the moment that I contacted them less than a month before our July 14, 2018 nuptials, Delaina and the rest of the staff at Brockton Villa were wonderfully professional and on the ball.
We were able to reserve the dining room and veranda for a cocktail hour and buffet dinner, for a very reasonable minimum. We ended up very close to the minimum solely based on menu, but we had everything we wanted, namely a Mediterranean chopped salad, lemon garlic grilled asparagus, homemade truffle mashed potatoes, pasta primavera (my absolute favorite!!!), stuffed pork loin, seafood paella, banana leaf wrapped steamed halibut, roasted beef tenderloin with wild mushrooms port demi glace, and mini vanilla creme brulee for dessert. Even keeping an open bar, we just barely went over our minimum (please note they do not serve hard alcohol, as I missed this, not that it mattered all that much in the end).
The food was on point and I plan to go back and order each and every one of these things again sometime in the very near future. The staff was also phenomenal, which I do not say lightly. They kept drinks refilled and tables bussed, but in the most quietly elegant way I've ever seen.
Overall, we got some great pictures, enjoyed watching the sea lions, and we ate our hearts out. It was the perfect way to kick off one of the best weekends of our lives!
My bridal shower was held here. The service was excellent, parking was very difficult and not convenient to the location at all. Coast Blvd is very busy, especially on the weekend, which made getting to the venue hard on my guests.
Because it is right next to the ocean, we had a really nice view from the event space. The food was fantastic. They let my bridesmaids bring in their own flowers, decorations, and cake, and gave them some time before the event start time to set up.
