Owner Michelle Elaine (she/her) is an experienced event planner who got started in the events industry nearly 15 years ago designing numerous fundraising events for nonprofit organizations like the Y, Teach For America, Leadership Greater Chicago, the Cancer Research Foundation, and more! Her work encompassed everything from intimate, in-home gatherings to large-scale galas with more than 500 people in attendance. Bustle and Lace plans weddings throughout Chicagoland and all across the Midwest.

Michelle and her team at Bustle and Lace are the absolute best! We brought Michelle on as our coordinator for our November 2024 wedding and it was truly one of the best decisions we could have made! She went above and beyond throughout our time working with her. Michelle did an amazing job understanding our vision and provided us with great suggestions during our organized check-in's. She is extremely kind, calm and a complete joy to work with. We cannot recommend Michelle & Bustle and Lace enough! We had the absolute best day and Michelle and her team were an integral part in making everything run smoothly!
We had the pleasure of working with Michelle for our September 2024 wedding. Michelle was our day of coordinator, but far more help than just on the day of. We had an almost 2 year engagement and from the start of working with Bustle & Lace, Michelle ensured we stayed organized and on track along our planning process. Leading up to the final months and day of our wedding, she was so helpful with the communication and set up with other vendors and the venue -- I couldn't imagine doing it without her! I recommend Michelle and Bustle and Lace if you want to have a stress free wedding day (:
Michelle and team are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! She went above and beyond in helping our vision for our big day come together. She attended all our vendor meetings and met with us multiple times before our wedding. She knows her stuff! We truly don't know what we would have done without her - we can't recommend her and her team enough.

Michelle was absolutely wonderful. She helped us find/secure an amazing venue (Salvage One!) and kept us on schedule throughout the entire process. Extremely well organized and responsive with helpful templates/recommendations for all of the different decision-making parts to wedding planning. We especially appreciated how calm and even-tempered she was (and also adept at handling unexpected extra parent questions!). Our wedding of 200 people that included some extra parts (tea ceremony) went off without a hitch and we are so thankful that Michelle helped make it happen!
Michelle was the absolute best vendor we hired for our wedding. Unlike other day-of coordinators, Michelle plans additional check in's throughout the planning process that just made us feel so much more comfortable and on track at every point in the process. Michelle was always prepared and organized for every meeting and vendor session. We also ended up booking almost every vendor that Michelle recommended to us - including our officiant, florist, bakery, hair & makeup artists, and rehearsal dinner venue. She understood exactly what we were looking for and gave the best suggestions. The timeline created by Michelle and her team worked out perfectly and we stayed on time throughout the entire day. Michelle made sure that everything was exactly how WE wanted and envisioned for the day and did everything she could to help bring our vision to life. Michelle is the person you want in your corner during the wedding planning process. Her calm demeanor, organization skills, expertise on budget, vendors, and more, as well as her kindness and humor were such an asset throughout the planning process as well as on our wedding day. We felt so taken care of leading up to and on our event day - it really allowed us to be fully present and enjoy our day. Do yourself a favor and hire Michelle as your wedding coordinator NOW!!! My husband and I got married last weekend, and both we and our guests are still raving about how perfect the day was - the timing, the decorations, the vendors, everything was absolutely beautiful and executed to perfection. This was all thanks to Michelle and the Bustle and Lace team! We hired Michelle as our wedding coordinator about 1.5 years before our wedding date, and we had helpful check-in meetings every few months to make sure we were on track in hiring vendors, pulling together our day-of schedule, planning for decor, etc, etc, etc. Michelle kept us on track throughout the planning process, and always had helpful templates and advice for every part of the process! Michelle is so responsive and has an answer backed by experience for every question that was asked. Our day was absolutely perfect, and it was all thanks for Michelle and her team working behind the scenes!
We truly cannot imagine our wedding day without Michelle- she made it possible for us to have the best day of our lives worry-free. We didn't have to fret about little things, made sure we had everything we needed, and gently kept us on time. We had a great experience with Michelle. She was a calming presence during all of the wedding planning and especially on our wedding day. In fact, most people in our wedding party (including our mothers) commented that she was one of the chillest wedding planners they’d ever interacted with. Michelle was always incredibly organized throughout the experience and helped us work through a multitude of details that we surely would have missed without her. I am sure that her expertise and guidance more than paid for itself. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Michelle and Bustle & Lace!
Hiring Michelle was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. There are not enough words to describe how awesome she is! Michelle is exactly what you need for your wedding- a calm, easy-going, genuinely kind human to run the show. From the very first meeting, we knew we had made the right choice. Michelle was always very responsive via email, had so many great suggestions, and helped us plan an even better wedding than we could've imagined. Michelle helped us create a perfect timeline that allowed our vision to come to life. The week of our wedding Michelle handled all vendor communication so that we could relax. The day of the wedding we did not have to do a single thing, we got to be fully present and enjoy our wedding while Michelle handled everything. Anything that came up that needed taking care of, Michelle would just smile and say- "it's handled" over and over again. Our families had nothing but great things to say about Michelle as well, they noticed how she handled everything so smoothly and appreciated her hard work. Michelle went above and beyond, and we couldn't be more thankful. She is such a kind person and we are thrilled she got to be a part of our day. I truly cannot say enough good things about Michelle and Bustle and Lace. Michelle was an absolute dream to work with. She’s so kind, calming, and wonderful. She was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond throughout the whole planning process. During the wedding itself, she was absolutely invaluable. When our DJ wasn’t playing our slideshow the way we wanted—Michelle handled it. When a guest didn’t get the meal she wanted—Michelle handled it (and the guest said she was so sweet about it.) When it was time to get drunk guests out the door at the end of the night—Michelle handled it perfectly. She was also so so helpful in keeping us on schedule during the wedding, helping us with last minute details the morning off, taking care of details with our vendors, and just being an all around great presence. I had high expectations going in based on the other reviews I saw, and Michelle honestly surpassed all of them. I can’t recommend her enough.
Michelle and her assistants were one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Michelle was incredibly helpful throughout the whole wedding process, always happy to answer the hundreds of questions we had. She was organized, thoughtful, and never pushed us to do anything we didn’t want to. There were multiple times where I asked Michelle about how to do something on my checklist, only to find out Michelle already had it handled! The day of, Michelle and her assistants made the day go on without a hitch - they set up our decor perfectly, made sure we had everything we needed, and moved the night along perfectly accordingly to our timeline. Plus, Michelle is just a total joy to work with!! She was such a bright presence throughout our wedding planning and we really couldn’t have had our perfect day without her. We cannot thank her enough!!

Michelle is quite literally the best wedding coordinators in Chicagoland! After reaching out to a bunch of wedding coordinators/planners, I knew right after our first phone call that she was a perfect fit. Being a "type A" bride, I did opted for the wedding coordination package, which included day-of services with Michelle and another team member and 5-6 check in meetings leading up to the wedding. Michelle asked all the right questions to make sure we stayed on track, made sure we were aligned with the timeline and so much more. There weren't many curveballs (luckily) but when there was, Michelle communicated everything in such a calming manner. She is quick on her feet and honestly made the day run so smoothly. About a month before she took over all communication with vendors and provided a highly detailed timeline that went through every single hour of the big day. Our wedding couldn't of been more perfect -- all thanks to Michelle and her team!
If you are looking for someone to treat you and yours like family and to treat your wedding as if it were her own...look no further. Michelle provided the day-of-coordinator services for our wedding on June 9th, 2023, but she provided FAR more than we expected. While Michelle went above and beyond as far as her job description goes, we were twice as impressed with the kindness and thoughtfulness demonstrated toward our family bridal party, and guests. Michelle is more than a hired day-of-coordinator to us, we truly think of her as family! She helped to execute all wedding visions beyond measure, and more than that, helped us to stay in the moment, and enjoy every aspect of our day. Without Michelle, I guarantee our wedding would not have been the same. We are deeply grateful for the love she showed us and the deep attentiveness she showed to every task, challenge or change of plan that she was presented with. From seating charts to vendor securement/communication, to decor and little details that will make your wedding day feel authentic to you, Michelle makes sure that you stay on track with every step and goes above and beyond to make every aspect of your wedding event special and uniquely tailored you. My husband and I looked forward to all of our monthly calls with Michelle and honestly we were a little sad the wedding ended because it meant we wouldn't get to work with her further! Michelle is the BEST. I hired her for as a "Day of wedding planner" but she did way more than just be there on the wedding day. Michelle of Bustle and Lace was easily our best wedding investment. She came highly recommended by my friend in the industry. We interviewed a couple of planners who were recommended but we liked Michelle from our first meeting. She was kind, calm, and thorough. Throughout our prep meetings, she helped us realize and prepare for things we hadn't even thought of and gave us great ideas! On the day of the wedding, she was in the background seamlessly taking care of everything. We planned our wedding in three months and my friends said it was better organized than weddings that have been in the making for years! Thank you for everything, Michelle! Even though our wedding was just a week ago, we already miss you!

Working with Michelle was an absolutely incredible experience! We hired her as our 'day-of' coordinator but she went above and beyond in helping us plan so many aspects of the wedding. Our meetings with her were always so helpful and made me feel like I knew what I should be doing next to stay on track. In all honesty, it all came together because of her organization and attention to details. She was professional, responsive, and supportive, with great communication. On the day of, she created the timeline and skillfully managed all of our vendors. She also helped set up decor and helped my family and friends know what to do. I was worried that on my wedding day I would feel too much like a "host" and she really helped take so much off my shoulders so I could enjoy the experience. Would recommend 1000% for any event.

The day of our wedding was so well organized and everyone commented on how seamlessly things went (especially since we had a nontraditional day of timeline and a lot of moving parts). The day of I could could just enjoy myself while she handled everything behind the scenes. My wedding day was incredible and I attribute a lot of that to her
We were blown away by how amazing and helpful Michelle was for us. From the get-go, she was well-organized, kind, and helpful. She was always a step ahead and ensured all the pieces of the puzzle went into place.
Then came a true test. Right before our wedding day, we got some unfortunate news that necessitated us to cancel our reception venue completely. This terrible news was handled amazingly well by Michelle. She talked though the situation with my partner and I and gave us options. We ended up having the reception in our family's backyard and needed to change the plans for the caterer, alcohol, DJ, and cake all in the last few days.
She went above and beyond and stepped up for us in the final days and hours before our wedding, and was an absolute superhero on our wedding day.
The amount of work she did was phenomenal. Some extra details that stand out to us are:
● All of the work and coordination to get things running smoothly a new venue in such short notice (and with all the changes that had to occur from our plan).
● Her going out of her way to get my mom a meal for her dietary restriction
● Pinning on the groom and groomsmen's boutonnieres
● Sheltering the bride from the rain
● Passing out appetizers
● Passing out cake
● All of the myriad of things she did that we don't even know about.
The amount of work she did for us blows our minds. Choosing her was, in hindsight, the best decision we could have made!
After having talked to multiple planners and not feeling like we had found "the one," our venue passed along Michelle's information and we couldn't have been happier with our decision to work with her!
Throughout the planning process, my husband and I continually would say to each other how happy we were working with Michelle and how supported we felt every step of the way. Michelle's advice, attention to detail and willingness to discuss any concern we had truly made the planning process that much easier and our day extra special. Our only regret is that we didn't utilize more of her planning services!

I don’t even have the words to begin to explain how helpful and wonderful Michelle was throughout our wedding planning. For the first few months of our engagement we tried to plan on our own, but it was stressful and overwhelming. As soon as we hired Michelle, wedding planning became way less stressful and more fun. Michelle was genuinely so excited for us and for our wedding celebration. “Above and beyond” doesn’t even begin to describe all of the things she did for us during wedding planning: she spent hours on zoom calls with us patiently helping us make decisions, she communicated back and forth with all of our vendors, she was so thorough and responsive to emails, she created the most organized spreadsheets, checklists, and to-do lists, she visited our venues on her own time to get the lay of the land, and I could go on. She really took the time to get to know us and help us make our vision a reality. Michelle put not just her labor but her absolute heart into planning our wedding. On the day of the wedding, she handled everything as it came up, smoothing over any issues that arose without us ever knowing so that we could just be present and enjoy our day without worrying about the logistics.
Along with her enthusiasm, Michelle is just incredibly kind. She has the most calming presence, which was super helpful throughout our planning because our heads would be spinning from trying to figure things out on our own and she would just quell all our worries and take everything off our hands. Truly, she was our favorite person throughout the wedding planning and we recommend her to everyone we know who is getting married. We got so many compliments from family and wedding guests telling us how impressed they were by Michelle and what a lovely person she is. If you do nothing else, hire Michelle. She is phenomenal at what she does, she has a gift for creating magic, and she single handedly changed our wedding planning experience from stressful to stress-free and enjoyable. Michelle is the best!
Michelle right off the bat was so easy to talk to, she listened to what we needed for the day of our wedding. She is personable and also such a calming presence to have by your side on the day or your wedding. She was super organized and helped me organize everything with vendors to timeline, also picked up anything I needed last minute for that day. She definitely took off the weight for me to have to communicate with all my vendors. She also had really great ideas for the wedding day to make it go more smooth. She is also just such a pleasure to get to know and work with.
My wife and I used Bustle and Lace for our wedding earlier this year. From day one, Michelle was attentive, responsive and more than willing to address our every need (no matter how frivolous!). We hired Michelle a bit later in the process given that we had a number of things outstanding with only two months in advance of our big day. Despite this tight timeline, Michelle quickly got up to speed and independently coordinated with our other vendors to make sure that everyone was on the same page. Her organization skills and detail-orientedness made the weeks leading up to our wedding seamless.
On our wedding day, my wife and I experienced what any couple wants for their big day - a fun, stress-free day creating lifelong memories with their loved ones! It’s safe to say that we owe all of this to Michelle! Michelle made sure that everyone was prepared and adhered to the timeline. She also exceeded expectations by incorporating special moments for all of the guests to enjoy. For example, my wife’s birthday was the day before our wedding. After Michelle learned of this, she ordered a birthday cake (making sure to ask me what my wife’s favorite flavor was of course!) for me to present to my wife, which was a highlight of the wedding! This was only one instance of Michelle going above and beyond to ensure that our day was special and memorable. Another time she exceeded expectations came when a new COVID-19 requirement was placed only one month out from our wedding date. The mandate required our guests and vendors to take action and Michelle handled all correspondence needed with the tight timeline. Whether messages we needed to send or information our vendors required from our guests, Michelle held our hand through all of it. We cannot recommend Michelle enough - she is incredible!
Michelle was so awesome to work with! The weeks leading up to the wedding weekend could not have gone smoother and she handled everything the week of. The wedding day was completely stress free and Michelle was a huge part in making it so amazing. She did a great job working with all of our vendors and creating a timeline that really worked with our vision for that day - she was just a huge help throughout the entire planning process which was not always easy with COVID. I would highly recommend!!
