Hiring Carolyn as my Day-of Coordinator was a great decision and investment! Carolyn jumped in and handled all the little details leading up to my wedding day. She was very organized and detailed. She asked the right (and important) questions and connected with all of my vendors to make sure logistics were planned out and communicated thoroughly and smoothly. Carolyn was very professional, direct but yet warm and friendly to my family and wedding party during the rehearsal. On the day-of, she made sure my MOH and Best Man were in the loop at all times. She also checked-in with us throughout the reception and made sure we were ok from beginning to end of our event. Overall, we are super happy that we hired Carolyn! As a fellow wedding planner/coordinator myself, I knew it would be to my biggest benefit to still hire someone to execute all of my wedding plans, but most of all, to let go and be able to enjoy being a Bride on the day-of. Carolyn made sure that I did just that on my wedding day, with nothing to worry about other than being a Bride and having fun with my hubby and all of our wedding guests =) Thank you Carolyn for your fabulous service!
My daughter was married in July 2015 after a two year engagement. Neither of us had any experience in planning a wedding but I was going to try. Over a year before the wedding my daughter asked me about hiring a wedding planner. My reply was "only very wealthy people hire wedding planners and we're not wealthy". We talked about it and as she was in graduate school full time and working almost full time, we agreed that we should at least look into hiring a planner.
We met Carolyn at the Bridal Fair at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley and talked with her for quite a while. We really liked her style and after we persuaded the men (my husband and her fiancé) we hired Carolyn.
I could try to describe everything Carolyn did to make the wedding a great success but it would take too much space; however, I can provide some examples. She kept an eye on our budget, was available to answer questions all the time and gave us referrals to vendors she knew and trusted. She came to one of my daughter's dress fittings, the florist meeting, the caterer tasting, wine tasting, etc., and was available to meet a number of times with the wedding party. She is incredibly creative, has a great eye and helped my daughter create a beautiful setting - something neither my daughter or I could have done. She organized the rehearsal and corralled the "wild and crazy" groomsmen. As I stated above, these are only a few examples.
Carolyn took control from early in the morning to midnight the day of the wedding. She and her staff were always there but also "invisible". My daughter and my husband forgot her bouquet and he had to go and retrieve it from home. She treated it calmly, which made us all feel calmer. At some point in the evening my husband realized he didn't have enough gas to get us home. Carolyn handled AAA and all my husband had to do was sign the invoice.
Carolyn was instrumental in creating a stress free ceremony and reception. It was a relaxed, joyous and incredibly fun evening - most of the 90 guests told us during or after the wedding, what a great time they had - I had a blast!
I know if we hadn't hired Carolyn it would have been an entirely different experience - from the early stages of planning to the event itself. She never pushed her ideas on us, she listened to all of us and tried to make my daughter's vision a reality. I couldn't recommend her more highly. Thank you Carrie!
Carolyn was all around amazing. As a busy working professional, I truly appreciated her work style. She is organized and direct. Our time together was extremely efficient and, in the end, our day was perfect! Carolyn is also super knowledgeable. Its obvious she has done this a few times! She was super helpful during our consultations with other vendors. She thought of all the questions and details I never would have. Last but not least - she is a pleasure to work with. She gets stuff done, with a smile on her face! I enjoyed working with her from day one and would happily recommend her to my friends and family!
My husband, family and I were so lucky to have Carolyn throughout our planning process! I had no idea what I was doing and Carolyn walked us through it, organized everything and was able to take our vision and turn it into the best day of our lives. Without her help, skills and support I would not have been the calm, stress-free bride I was on my wedding day. Carolyn made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the entire planning process - finding vendors, keeping track of contracts, coming up with design ideas and details and keeping us all sane! Our day was truly perfect. We wouldn't have been able to do it without her and I highly recommend you hire her!
I hired Carolyn approximately 3 months before our October wedding, as a "day-of coordinator," but her services extended far beyond the day of! Carolyn was amazing - so thorough and detail-oriented. She thought of things that would have never crossed my mind when planning a wedding. The day of our wedding, she ensured the whole day went off without a hitch. Carolyn's presence at our wedding allowed my husband and I to enjoy the entire day, knowing that the details and timeline were in Carolyn's very capable hands. I would hire Carolyn again in a heart beat.
Carrie went above and beyond for our September 2012 wedding at the Bently Reserve in San Francisco.
The day I met her I knew she was the planner for me! I knew almost exactly what I wanted for my wedding having a back round in event planning myself but I needed someone to help execute my vision and Carrie did that and more. Her attention to detail was impeccable! She was in contact with all my vendors throughout the whole process and made sure they were on top of everything every step of the way. She wrote up and executed the most impressive day of event timeline I have ever seen, (I believe it was something like 20 pages!) making sure I was where I needed to be and we stayed on schedule. The days leading up to the wedding I felt like I could relax knowing that Carrie was on top of it.
I would highly recommend Carrie Wilson as a wedding planner or any event for that matter!

Carrie is the sole reason our wedding day turned out as beautiful as it did. Throughout the 1 year and 8 months long engagement, she was with us every step of the way, from looking at table linens to creating a day of timeline that ran absolutely smooth. Working with a slightly difficult vendor? No problem! Carrie stepped in and took over seamlessly to make sure that what we ultimately wanted happened. She kept detailed notes and put so much time into making sure that everything was in line. I am an overly detailed person and Carrie is my long lost twin!
On top of being an amazing coordinator and the professional pieces that come along with that, she is fun, has a great sense of humor, and everyone in our wedding loved her! She went above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined from a wedding coordinator.
A lot of our wedding was DIY, so I had a ton of left over material and random accents that I picked up along the way thinking they’d be cute but didn’t have the slightest clue how to incorporate them. Carrie told us to bring all of that with us on our wedding day and she’d use them where she could. My first thought? “Ummm, ok lady. Good luck working in these random pieces to a pretty planned out décor without it looking random. And these shaggy pieces of burlap? Aren’t these just garbage?” Oh man. I have never been so wrong in my life. She turned those extra pieces into a work of art all throughout our wedding!!! And I thought I was creative. Psh.
In addition to orchestrating a beautiful day that LOOKED good, she also wanted us to FEEL good. She made sure that on the day of the wedding my only job was to relax with my bridesmaids and family. In fact, while us girls were all getting ready I tried to bring in some martini glasses that needed to be assembled and she asked my nephew to take them away from me, telling me that my only job was to have fun (but also giving me the option of assembling them if I needed something to distract my mind). I kindly let me nephew take them out of the room and went back to sipping mimosas with my girls.
Carrie is gifted when it comes to listening to your vision, while offering her own ideas to build upon it and take it to the next level. I would not consider Carrie a "vendor" after this experience with her, but rather a friend. If you are looking for that one person who will coordinate your event like no other can, stop looking and go with Carrie. You will NOT be disappointed. You only get one shot at this day so I cannot stress enough that having that one steady person to organize all of your thoughts and the chaos of planning is a necessity to be able to relax and take in every precious moment of the actual day.
