I never actually got the chance to work with Jessica in person, because I decided to cancel her services and hire another bartender. My experience with Jessica was extremely unimpressive and frustrating. To start with, when I sent the deposit a...nd signed contract in the mail I had to email her twice, first asking to let me know when she receives it, and a second time after that asking if she already received it (because I didn't receive a response for 9 days.) The communication following was the same thing. It would take weeks sometimes to receive a response back from an email, if I even got a response at all. Last month, I sent an email that I didn't get a response for over a month. In that email, I asked numerous questions and only got a response for some of the questions I asked. But before I got a response, I had to email her AGAIN asking "did you get my email?" She claimed that she did not see it until my follow up email. (Which means she doesn't check her email on a regular basis.) At this point I was more than frustrated and felt as though I couldn't count on her to communicate well with me. I sent her another email stating that I'd like to cancel her service. She responded back again saying she didn't see my original email until I sent her a follow up one. She also said I should've called or texted her if I didn't receive a response within 24hrs. It is not my job to track you down via every contact method you've given me. What's next, sending a carrier pigeon with a letter? If an email is a contact method you've given me, you should be able to rely on getting responses via email. It's unrealistic to expect a client to send you an email, a text, and a phone call just to get a few questions answered. As a business owner, you should check your email on a regular basis and respond to your clients in a timely manner. Not to mention, after I bring this up, she then starting claiming she never even received the original email. Which is incorrect, because she (finally) replied and answered some of the questions I sent in that one. If she truly didn't receive it, how would she be able to answer my questions from that email? In the 6 months I've worked with her, the entire time I have been unimpressed with the communication and just can't count on it going smoothly the day of. I hope that Jessica realizes this was an issue, and is more diligent in the future with other clients so this problem is avoided.
