My favorite part about my wedding was the ceremony and I’m glad I’m able to associate such a special moment with happiness and laughter. I honestly think it’s all because of Bethel. Bethel just has a way of structuring the ceremony so people can really see how you are as a couple (with the help of some homework). It was like the people we love and care about were able to look through a window into our relationship. They could see how beautiful the love we have is and how in sync we are even when we don’t even try. I’m happy Bethel was able to bring that out for everyone to see. I feel like people tend to not prioritize officiants, but I think it’s so important. You’ll constantly look back at your ceremony because it’s where you’re promising forever with your partner whether it’s just the two of you or in front of loved ones. Bethel made our wedding lighthearted, fun, and memorable. Don’t settle for anything less on your wedding- go with Bethel. I absolutely can’t recommend Bethel enough.

This is a long time coming but very much deserved. Bethel was first a friendor as we worked many weddings together, prior to her officiated my wedding. She is kind, thoughtful, inclusive, loving, respectful and above all else a true professional of her craft. She creatively writes the most beautiful, personal and special ceremonies for couples and when it came to my own wedding she was not only flexible and understanding of us having to move the date (2020) but she wrote the most beautiful ceremony for us and helped us craft our vows with great prompts and made us feel heard. We love Bethel and I recommend her to all my wedding clients.

We all know weddings are stressful, even with coordinators and the bridal party but in walks this bright eyed, smiling, peaceful woman and instantly I feel a sense of relief- and guys I’m not even the bride! Bethel is an angle disguised as an officiant. Prior to the ceremony things were in disarray and Bethel literally stepped in to help coordinate, above and beyond her duties. She also gave us (the bridal party) one of the most crucial tips- don’t lock your knees. Prior to the ceremony I knew the love story of my best friend and her fiancé but Bethels words gave such a visual to bond that the bride and groom had. I was balling. It was so touching and so personal. I was in another wedding only a couple weeks later and oh my gosh ! What a difference and not in a good way. I get it, to each their own but this priest, one didn’t even pronounce the last name correctly and 2 even kicked the brides veil from off his foot. I couldn’t even believe the difference not even just from unparalleled originality but differences in professionalism. I was single at the time but I told my bride, best friend that when I do get engaged, Bethel is a non negotiable. About 3 years later I was engaged and we interviewed with Bethel and she was officially our officiant. I never really thought about what it took for bethel to create such beautiful ceremonies but I learned through our homework how she was really able to embody both partners. She did such an amazing job with our wedding I’ve referred to all who will listen and now I’ve been to 3 bethel ceremonies. Ceremonies can be cookie cutter but they can also be something you and your guests never forget. Let your guests not only see your love but feel it too.

There are not enough effusive words in the world to describe how wonderful Bethel is! I am lucky enough to know Bethel from my previous career as a Wedding Planner and to be able to call her my friend. And when my partner proposed, I knew that Bethel was our only option for an officiant. During our engagement, Bethel checked in on us, asked us to work on assignments, and reminded us what the wedding was all about our marriage. Bethel understood our need for humor and ensured we did not have any words that reflected god or church, as we are staunch atheists. We know we are not for everyone, and we love that about one another, and she emphasized that for us. She has fantastic insight and can genuinely see how much love a couple has for one another but also how that love affects others around them. Our ceremony was a perfect marriage (no pun intended) of what we said in our assignments about each other, our love for one another, and beautiful words from Bethel. She absolutely killed it. It was the best way to start our marriage and continue our lives together. If Bethel is available for your wedding date, book her. She is an amazing human and an epic officiant!

The highlight of our wedding day was undoubtedly the ceremony, and we owe it all to Bethel. Throughout the entire journey, she was consistently considerate and kept the lines of communication wide open. She collaborated closely with us to ensure our ceremony was not only precisely what we envisioned but also a true reflection of our identity as a couple. Going into the process, we did not truly understand how important it would be to have an officiant that got to know us. We knew at some level this would be a one-time thing, but we did not want this to feel transactional. With Bethel, it did not feel that way at all. There were calls, and homework, and more homework; and the result was that we got the ceremony that we actually wanted. My mother-in-law said it was the best ceremony that she's ever attended, and she isn't easily impressed. Her dedication extended to taking care of all the necessary paperwork and the logistics of our marriage license, relieving us of any stress. Meeting her was a true blessing, and we wholeheartedly endorse her services.

I cannot say enough about Bethel. She was outstanding from day one. Her writing and reading of the ceremony were perfect. She made the process fun for us, gave us ideas to make us more comfortable and captured everything we wanted in a ceremony. Most of our friends who were recently married did so with a friend or family member as the officiant but didn't want our friends to have any jobs at the wedding. I am so glad we went the route we did. After the ceremony our friends and family were raving about her - she had so many compliments. She made us feel like she was part of our relationship from day 1, she gave advice and our day wouldn't have been as perfect if we went with anyone else. Highly recommend.

As a wedding florist and venue owner for 15 years, I have seen it ALL. So when I had to find vendors for my own wedding that met my very high standards, it was not an easy task. Bethel was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding! My husband and I were a bit stuck trying to sort out how we wanted the ceremony to go. Bethel was our officiant for our January 13 wedding at the San Diego Safari Park. We absolutely LOVED working with her, she is the BEST. If anyone is getting married in the San Diego area, I highly recommend booking with her as soon as possible. She made our ceremony magical and we couldn’t imagine having anyone else be our officiant, the wedding just wouldn’t have been the same. First we met her over zoom and immediately knew she was the perfect officiant for us. She had us each fill out questions without the other person seeing what we wrote and had us send them to us individually. We also met and talked about what we wanted in our ceremony, and she sent us tons of ideas. This helped us so much with figuring out what to do in our ceremony and even what kind of vows we wanted to do for the ceremony. We are so blessed that we were able to have Bethel marry us on the most special day of our lives, and we truly believe we have found a wonderful friend through this. Bethel goes above and beyond for everyone and truly gets to know the couple and the relationship. We even were able to send her love letters to each other before the wedding, and she mailed them to us along with everything in the ceremony and our own “marriage certificate” where we selected our wedding party to sign.

Bethel was phenomenal to work with! From the very beginning of our engagement, she walked us through all the steps to plan a wedding ceremony, thought of tons of considerations we never would have, gave us tons of valuable materials to streamline the planning process, and delivered a knockout performance on our big day. She had everyone in tears with the raw emotion of the ceremony. Everyone who came up to me throughout the night specifically mentioned how moving the ceremony was, thanks to Bethel! The secret sauce that made the ceremony great was in how Bethel communicated with us throughout the months leading up to the wedding. She would have a video call with us on occasion and emails to explain next steps, share helpful examples and resources to guide us through making decisions on the ceremony that would ensure it was a good fit for us, our value systems, and our relationship. She would always share more ideas if we needed them. She walked us guided sets of questions to source the material that would shape the ceremony. In the end, she weaved together all the inputs we gave into such an artful telling of our story and the history and vibe of our relationship in a beautiful way. She really has a special talent for storytelling. On top of all of this, she stayed on top of all the paperwork necessary to make sure we actually ended up legally married, which can be a lot to keep track of. She made all of this super easy for us, so we didn't have to give it a thought on our wedding day. Bethel gets my top recommendation, the best wedding officiant I've ever seen.

She even had the sweetest idea of drafting a love letter for each other (before the wedding) to read to one another on all our anniversaries in the years ahead (or birthdays or valentines days, etc. ) <3 After our wedding, she sent us the actual cards we read our vows from on our wedding day! And she has all the information you’d ever need on obtaining your marriage license, name changes, and all the tips for everything in between. She really does love her job! She is so invested in her couples & is the ray of sunshine guiding you to the *most* important part of your wedding day. We’ve kept in touch with her & will continue to do so as the years pass by. She truly is a gem in this world of revolving door interactions & you will not be disappointed!

Oh Bethel - I don’t even know where to start. I spent hours upon hours looking for an officiant. I had two requirements: they could actually speak in front of a crowd, and they could write us a ceremony that meant something. We hired and worked with Ceremonies by Bethel for our San Diego wedding. We must say that we are glad we did. Bethel has been professional, personable, endearing, supportive, and warm hearted since the beginning. We eloped just the 2 of us (plus Bethel and photographers) and we are SO glad we did! Working with Bethel was amazing and we really appreciate all the details she put into creating our ceremony. We were recommended Ceremonies by Bethel as an officiant and are super glad we decided to work with her. We answered separate questionnaires about our relationship, Bethel walked us through the marriage license process, offered us lots of options for different parts of the ceremony, and asked for clarification when needed. We also had a ketubah, a Jewish marriage license, which Bethel beautifully walked us and our witnesses through the process of signing while explaining the importance. My husband and I loved working with Bethel. What initially drew us to her was that she officiated weddings for such diverse couples and she incorporated various traditions. Throughout the planning process, she guided us and provided ample opportunities to personalize our ceremony. On our wedding day, she was attentive, kind, generous, and gracious. At first, my family was reticent of my husband and I not having a traditional Catholic wedding but after the ceremony they told us that Bethel did an amazing job to both respectfully and appropriately incorporate a few of our Filipino traditions, as well as integrate personal statements from my husband and me. Where to even begin. Bethel was referred to us as the best of the best, and once we met with her, we understood why. We considered having a close friend marry us, but after speaking with Bethel and working with her, I am confident in saying: hiring someone who does this not only professionally, but with passion and joy, was the best decision we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. While the cost was something to consider at first, looking back, I would cut out or cut back on anything to make a budget for her to preside. To start, Bethel is kind. Genuinely, radiantly, kind. She is an excellent listener. She is creative, fun, and a joy to work with. Bethel provided the structure that we needed to actually pull this wedding off. She gave us deadlines. She got super creative with us to help make a meaningful ceremony that would give everyone in attendance a perception of what they needed. (Ex: We are not religious and didn't care to have any religion in our ceremony. On the contrary, we had a parent who flat out said they could not honor our commitment/marriage and wedding if it wasn't done by 'clergy' or in a church, but Bethel was so legit, we won them over on the beach. She created areas for them to say their prayers/blessing/wishes which didn't feel inauthentic to us. She made it meaningful and personal for everyone!) She gets to know you and your partner and your relationship. She has you do homework which forces you to think deeply into your marriage, your partner, and why you chose them. It was everything that we needed and truly made getting married that much more special. She also gives you tons of options for vows, fun ceremony add-ins/ideas. She walks you through the marriage license process, She does SO MUCH!!! Also- she's an efficient and fast communicator, which I so appreciate. She makes the whole process fun, celebratory, exciting, and meaningful. We both agree that she was the best decision that we made and if we ever renew our vows- Bethel, you'll be there!! Our advice is - if you're debating it, stop- immediately sign the paperwork. You will not regret working with this incredible professional!

We met bethel during covid, so everything was via zoom. But she made us feel so comfortable from the start. She makes it organized but so fun and personal. She gives you tons of options and ideas. It really makes the ceremony feel 100% unique! She flexible with ideas, I know we changed our minds on things a few times. She was on time and holding a beautiful spot on the beach for us. When we finally met in person, I felt like we had known each other for years. Even after the big day, she’s easy to get a hold of, sends your marriage certificate very quickly. We let her handle all the paperwork and it was a breeze. She’s even answered questions for us weeks after the wedding. Bethel is worth every penny, she makes everything absolutely perfect.

It was so important to Lisa (my new wife!!) and I to find an officiant that we felt connected to; and from our fist email correspondence with Bethel, we knew immediately she was the one! She was so warm, kind and loving in her message to us, and then when we met her in person it just confirmed everything we already knew was true! Bethel made our day so unbelievably special. Look no further! Bethel is seriously the best! My wife and I video chatted with her when first deciding to select her as our officiant. Immediately we felt like Bethel understood us and our relationship together because she actively listened to us. She talked through our concerns about the pressure of certain traditions and helped design our dream ceremony. About 4 months before our ceremony she sent us some "homework." My advise, put effort into it then because it will make your ceremony that much more special. After our ceremony with many laughs and happy tears, we received compliments...MANY compliments from "that was the best ceremony I had ever been to" to "where did you find her!!!" Everyone kept telling us how Bethel made the ceremony special because she really shared with our friends and family how much we cared about each other. We sadly never ended up getting married by Bethel, but I felt the need to leave a review anyway because she's just so awesome. My fiancé and I had planned to have a destination wedding in San Diego, one of our favorite places, and reached out to Bethel after being wowed by videos of some of her past ceremonies. Upon getting on a call with Bethel, we clicked with her immediately. She is such an interesting, kind, attentive, and overall awesome human being, and she has the most creative ideas for non-traditional ceremonies. My fiancé is half-Japanese, and Bethel had planned to open our ceremony with a few words of Japanese (yes, she speaks Japanese!), and she had great ideas on how to incorporate my Chinese side as well. We were so happy to book her! ... Well, then COVID hit and we unfortunately had to cancel our wedding in favor of a more local celebration. Honestly, one of the hardest parts about this process was losing Bethel as our officiant. In response to our cancellation, she wrote us the sweetest email about how sad she was to lose us too, and she still keeps in touch with us on Instagram. When you book Bethel, you're not just booking an officiant - you're also making a new friend! If we ever find ourselves in need of vow renewal services, we'll definitely be reaching out to Bethel. :)

When I first came across Bethel's website I knew she was the one I wanted to marry us. She just seemed so "chill" (for lack of better words), spunky, fun, and a complete joy (check out her bio on her site, I am sure you will agree!) On our initial phone call where we were feeling out if she was the right officiant for us, she was also feeling out if we were the right couple to work with her. I think it is super cool she did this as it ensures she is working with people she really believes in and enjoys. We loved that! We had zero clues about what went into a ceremony. From day one Bethel guided us throughout the entire process and made the whole process fun, exciting, and seamless. She provided us with so many resources to ensure we knew all about what could go into our ceremony. Once we selected everything she liked, did some questions about us as a couple (they are actually pretty fun), she wrote the ceremony. One thing I appreciated is that nothing in the ceremony felt like a cookie-cutter script. Everything was so unique to us as a couple; she even weaves in pieces of your personal questions about your relationship throughout the ceremony but in such an eloquent and special way (and a total surprise as you don't get to see that part ahead of time) that it made both of us cry tears of happiness. After the ceremony, she also made sure we introduced each other as husband & wife which I never would have thought about but it was so special. Even after the wedding, Bethel is still here guiding us through the next step - finalizing the marriage license. She has taken care of every single detail so that we can just sit back and relax. She even mailed us love letters we wrote to each other before the wedding and will continue to do that every year on our anniversary. You can tell Bethel cares immensely about the couples she works with. The smile in the pictures from our ceremony shows how genuinely she cares. Extra bonus, she provides tissues for you when needed :). We are so, so incredibly thankful for her!

She was the most attentive and kind officiant ever! Having her for my sister’s wedding made everything a breeze. She was also very flexible when we had to change to a COVID safe wedding with only myself and another person as the wedding party/witnesses. Very understanding and vibrant officiant. Bethel is great! She doesn’t make you feel like you’re just a client. She goes out of her way to make everything go as smooth for you as she can. To me, it felt like I had known her as a longtime friend with how personable she is. Our friends had her as their officiant. And she made their wedding so fun and alive. I want to start this review off by saying: BOOK HER!!!!! Bethel is an amazing officiant who personalizes your wedding to suit what is you and your spouse! If you guys are silly... she brings the laughs. If you guys are hopeless romantics, she will draw the tears! We found Bethel at my best friends wedding, and instantly knew she was the one! She takes the time to get to know you through a meet up and then is very consistent with the emails. She wants to make sure you are satisfied with what she is bringing to the table. We were on the hunt for an officiant that would "get" us, and be able to create a special ceremony with us that fit both of our styles and spiritual beliefs. From the moment we met Bethel, we knew she was "the one"! Her passion and joy for what she does came through first on the phone, and when we met in person we felt a connection and a deep understanding with her instantly. She had us in tears at the first meeting! The process of how she works with you to create a very personalized ceremony is so much more than sending you passages and poems. She has a method of getting to the heart of who each of you are, and what you mean to each other that really works and is quite elegant and simple. It takes time on your part, but it is SO WORTH IT! We absolutely loved our ceremony, and Bethel's energy is infectious. She also helped us through a very challenging time with a painful death in our family close to the wedding, and we were down to the wire putting the finishing touches on our ceremony and vows. She supported us through it all like an angel. All of our guests commented on how personal and precious our ceremony was, and said it was the best they had witnessed. Working with Bethel has been one of the greatest experiences we had during wedding planning. Right out of the gates, Bethel wanted to set up a Zoom call with us (this was to be a destination wedding) and she took the time to understand who my wife and I are individually and how our relationship was built. She quickly learned that my wife and I bonded over video games and that the wedding would be gaming themed and Bethel was excited to help make it happen. Both my wife and I aren't conventional in anyway and we were anxious about how a non-religious, non-conventional ceremony would play out; and this is where Bethel shined. She understood who my wife and I are as a couple and started brainstorming different activities that would make sense for our ceremony. She worked with us extensively to make sure that our vision would come to life. My wife and I sincerely believe that without Bethels help and guidance, along with the time spent on calls, that our ceremony was going to feel more like a family obligation to attend rather than a true celebration of us. Outside of wedding matters, Bethel is a very kind, empathetic person and radiates charisma. She's very thoughtful and full of great ideas. We cannot recommend Bethel enough. We couldn't ask for a more amazing person to lead our ceremony.

Going into our elopement planning process, we didn't really know what to expect from an officiant. We assumed the person would suggest some readings and perform the ceremony. Bethel was so much more than that! Her process, from the first contact email to the ceremony prep to the follow-up communications, was authentic and personal. Our favorite part of the experience was the way she got to know us in order to write the ceremony. During these crazy covid times we opted to postpone our larger celebration and do a small intimate one with just family on our original date. During the whole process she was helpful, answered all our questions and even gave us some “homework” to help us put together our ceremony and write our vows. Bethel made our day absolutely PERFECT! Getting married in the middle of COVID this fall meant we needed to change our plans quite a few times, and she was so accommodating and flexible, all with a smile, as we needed to make alterations to plans. She took the time to get to know my husband and I remotely through questions we answered, and she wove them into our ceremony very thoughtfully. In such an intimate setting as your wedding, I'm sure it's easy for strangers to feel out of place - Bethel made us felt like we've known her for years and she just made sense in the middle of our small, intimate ceremony. Bethel was incredible. When we were looking for an Officiant, there was one that was the consensus winner, and that was Bethel. Wow, were they right. When we first met Bethel we found out that while we were interviewing her, she also was interviewing us. She doesn’t want to marry a couple that she doesn’t believe in. We loved that, and she believed in us as a couple, so away we went. Bethel made the whole experience of creating the ceremony very fun in what we had to do beforehand (homework on our relationship and how it grew) and being able to pick out anything that really showcased us as a couple. Bethel was also an incredible source of info, especially during COVID, on any questions we had, especially when it came to getting a marriage license during these crazy times. The day of the wedding, Bethel helped in making us feel comfortable and amazing during the whole ceremony and after as well. She urged us to reintroduce each other as husband and wife to everyone at our wedding, a small but very impactful thing we would have never thought of, but truly loved. She handled the marriage license after the fact, sent us the ceremony materials on beautiful paper, and will continue to be an instrumental part of our lives (she emails the love letters we wrote for each other every anniversary). We loved having Bethel as our officiant and could not recommend her enough to everybody out there!

I can’t not express how important an officiant is for your wedding. I completely understand that some couples love to have family members and friends marry them. That is a great option but hiring a professional officiant was the best choice I ever made, Bethel was phenomenal I can’t even express how thankful I am for her doing our ceremony. When we first met Bethel and we met at a coffee shop and we went over questions, concerns traditions, and everything that is important to us. She let us know what she’s seen other couples do and what has and hasn’t worked. She discussed first look vs. not having one, She explained the pros and cons and having a first look was the best choice I had ever made which I was against at first. She gave us homework assignment to do separately to see how we each view our relationship and how it developed and what it meant to us. She gave us so many options for ceremonies and puts it together with everything you want and send you previews except the stories she’s gonna tell. I have never been to a wedding having so much love present in the ceremony, the amount of guest that came up to me and said that the ceremony was filled with so much love was unbelievable. I understand that she is on the higher end of the officiant scale price but that is one place I would not cut cost on, she’s worth every penny and more! I hope you get to experience the amount of love we had at our wedding at your wedding.

After having a tough year my fiance and I wanted a destination elopement with just immediate family (4 + us) and with that we wanted a very intimate and special wedding. Living in NJ and never having been to San Diego I had to rely on the list of vendor recommendations the resort provided me. I reached out to Bethel from the list of names and it was the best decision we made. We had a few FaceTime calls together and "homework" assignments so she would get to know us and our personalities. The ceremony she crafted for us was perfect. We had plenty of laughs during the ceremony and her special private words to us after the ceremony have stayed with me. Her presence and personality set the tone for our event and made our day so special- for all 6 of us. I love seeing pictures of our ceremony and the smiles that Bethel was bringing out. She was so unbelievably thoughtful, organized, and detail oriented throughout the process of creating our ceremony for us. At times it felt like working with equal parts artist and power business woman. She is patient and just SO caring in what she does. Our guests most common remarks after our wedding were about how authentic, funny, and moving they found the ceremony - something we never could have created on our own. It felt like telling JK Rowling your story and her creating the wedding equivalent of Harry Potter magic from it. I want to say there was some doubts along the way but from the first phone call I knew she would knock it out of the park. It feels like she became a little piece of our new family, and we're so so profoundly grateful for it. Do yourself the biggest favor and hire Bethel, you will understand the magic if you do.

Oh my gosh!! Where do I start?! Bethel was our officiant for our wedding and I am so glad we found her. From before our first meeting to weeks after the wedding helping with all my name change questions, Bethel is there for you! She is communicative and so sweet. She put together our ceremony so smoothly and my husband and I are so happy with how it turned out. We got so many compliments on having Bethel as our officiant. After the ceremony, there was one main comment we kept getting from our wedding guests..."she was soooo good!" Everybody loved her. Bethel is absolutely amazing! The ceremony is the most important part of the day (you are marrying the love of your life) so it should be the main focus of the day. I cannot tell how much I cried, laughed, and smiled as I heard all of the answers to our "homework" being read aloud to our loved ones during the ceremony. Yes there will be homework. This review is certainly overdue. Bethel officiated our ceremony in May, but to say she simply was present on the day is an understatement. From our first meeting, we felt instantly comfortable as she exuded this warmth that we both loved.
