Lisa was the perfect officiant for our wedding. She set up multiple meetings with us (including an introductory call before booking) to get to know us, to help us write our vows and ceremony, and to practice. It was so great to be able to customize everything with her. On the day of the wedding, it was a relief to see her and interact with her during the ceremony. Many of my guests complimented her and loved how connected she was with us on the alter. I would recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a unique ceremony experience (or I am sure she could put together a perfectly traditional ceremony as well). We are so happy that we went with Lisa for our officiant for our wedding on 10/14/23. She did a great job gathering information about us in order to create a meaningful and special ceremony. The ceremony was one of my favorite parts of our whole wedding weekend, and that's because of Lisa and her beautiful words. If you want a meaningful, poetic/creative, personalized vow ceremony focused on you and your spouse's love story, for an elopement or intimate small/micro wedding, and you would like an officiant who is wonderful at corralling you and/or your small groups/families, who is a naturally charismatic performer (former musician) but also deeply connected to the quiet sacredness of the moment, and will step back and give y'all space and time to enjoy and feel your vows - look no further! Work with LISA! :) LONG ANSWER: Lisa is phenomenal, and has earned all her 5-star reviews! We ended up being lucky enough to get Lisa as our officiant at the actual event (Ceremonies with Lisa is a small business run by Lisa and made up of her and a group of wonderful officiants with whom she works closely). My husband and I are from Colorado but were living out-of-state prior to our wedding, and knew we wanted to do an elopement/micro-wedding back home in the mountains, which led us to Lisa. Lisa spent a lot of time getting to know us in the initial call and shared her amazing backstory, too. We immediately felt we could trust Lisa in that she provided high value in her expertise, character/warmth, and well-run small business at an affordable price compared to many other officiants elopements. After we booked her, she helped us decide on a location and time, and our ceremony fell into place. In the year before the ceremony, we received outreach emails with thoughtful ideas for us to prepare for our upcoming nuptials, and her wedding questionnaire was honestly such a lovely process itself that brought us closer together over many meaningful dates answering those questions. She shared tons of resources online and guidance during the year to help us get our venue booked with instructions to find it in the mountains for us/guests, marriage license organized, vendors squared away. We decided to get our own wedding photographer and found Dylan Crossley (who is amazing and we recommend highly, they know each other well from working prior weddings together though Dylan is not officially connected to Ceremonies with Lisa) since we prefer to have one individual photographer whose style/portfolio we love specifically vs a collective/group of photographers. Lisa was super flexible with this process of us finding the right photographer, and had many other recommended vendors! :) (S/o to wise artistry + Dawn for hair/makeup; birch and bramble for flowers). When it came time for the actual ceremony, Lisa organized the morning in such a seamless way that kept us calm and excited; she made sure the guests were positioned in the Sunrise Amphitheater for pictures, got everyone hyped up, coordinated the groom's + bride's entrance beautifully. During the ceremony, she did such a lovely job with our introduction and readings, and also had us pause multiple times to reflect on specific memories in our relationship that really had us tearing up and connecting deeply to the emotions of the day. She also stepped back when we read our personal vows to give us space to enjoy the moment and each other. During the ring exchange and pronouncement, she helped us feel the weight and gravity but also the lightness and joy of the moment. She has fun traditions of taking selfies with the bride+groom and made the signing of our marriage certificate another memorable moment. Such a special day, such a special officiant. THANK YOU LISA!

Working with Lisa was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Aerial and I felt drawn to Lisa from her website and that energy was validated over and over in our months of working together. Lisa was such a great advocate and guide during the pre-wedding process, taking the time to invest in getting to know us and our love story, and giving us the exercises to prepare and make meaning out of our ceremony and the entire wedding prep experience. The most common comment throughout the wedding night was - "that was the best ceremony I've ever seen," which is more validation to the end result, in addition to the wonderful prep experience. When we began thinking about what we wanted our wedding to be like, we knew we wanted to elope - we had both had big weddings before and agreed the prices in the wedding industry are exploitative and that they seem to have become parties for the guests, which takes away from the true essence of the occasion. Thinking about what we wanted to feel on that day and in those moments was our guide in making decisions - 'will this decision cause us to feel that way, or not?' We knew we wanted an intimate experience where we could fully honor the commitment we were making and to focus on our love for one another. We also wanted to go somewhere we'd never been, and the bride wanted pinterest-worthy mountainside elopement pictures. We settled on Boulder and followed a Pinterest trail to Sharee, which led us to Ceremonies with Lisa. Lisa confirmed she works with Sharee and shared more about all the things CWL offers. As much as we wanted that super intimate experience, the idea of randomly stepping off to the side to exchange vows mid-photography session felt extremely awkward. The structure and support of having Lisa there during our ceremony is what made it feel like an actual ceremony. She helped ground us to the moment and guided us through the ceremony, which flowed perfectly and was so comfortable and specific to us as individuals and a couple. She did step away while we exchanged personal statements which gave us an even deeper element to that intimacy and also allowed for some beautiful photos. Aside from officiating, Lisa also was extremely helpful and informative during the entire engagement and wedding-planning process; being from out of state, her recommendations for other vendors and things to do during our trip was invaluable. She checked in with us periodically to see if there was anything we needed and had a lot of helpful information not only about the actual elopement but in preparing to create our own ceremony and write our own vows. Lisa has such a bright, loving energy and really makes you feel she is genuinely excited for you and wants to be there for you in any way she can. That excitement and encouragement has meant so much to us! If you're on the fence about working with CLW (and if you've read this far to the end of the review) we could not recommend her more. You will 100% not be disappointed. Our elopement was incredible and everything we hoped for, and there is no doubt in our minds this would not have been the case if we had chosen not to work with Lisa.

Our experience with Lisa was above and beyond anything we could've imagined. We sought out Lisa to officiate our wedding because we wanted a unique ceremony that would be the highlight of our wedding day. Lisa helped make our wedding ceremony everything we’d hoped it would be. It was meaningful, personal, and fully captured the spirit of our relationship. Throughout the process she was so thoughtful, kind, and fun. We cannot recommend her enough!!

Lisa was absolutely amazing! She takes the time to get to know you before your big day, sends helpful emails to help with vows, resources on places to dine and stay, especially if you are from out of state; like we were. She also helped us all to stay relaxed through the entire ceremony with her confidence and warm smile. Everything went smoothly and she makes you feel like she’s known you for a long time, and believes in your love and your marriage. It wouldn't have been the same without her. I definitely recommend anyone getting married in Colorado to hire ceremonies by Lisa.

Everyone loves Lisa! I'll tell you why with a few reviews in one here. My review - I really appreciate her sincerity, positive energy, and focus on truly knowing a couple to develop a ceremony that represents who they are and what they want the ceremony to be. She provides relationship tools and support to the extent you want it too which is nice and customizable. She's easy & fun to work with, professional & prompt and quick witted on the fly day of. She just nailed it! Hubby Ben's review: yeah, she's cool. Wedding guest (in astonishment): OMG WHERE DID YOU FIND HER? SHES AMAZING. DOES SHE COME WITH THE PLACE? (my response: um google). We met with Lisa around 6 months before our wedding, and during that time period she spent hours with us as a couple truly getting to know us, what was important to us, and helped us find and develop our core values together. On our wedding day, it was as if Lisa had known us for years, and the storytelling and ambiance she was able to do for both us and our guests was nothing short of magical. It was an extremely emotional and memorable day, and Lisa played a major part in that! We are blessed to have found her, and cannot recommend her enough.

Lisa was a DREAM to work with! You get what you pay for and she made our ceremony so unique and special, we had several people come up to us and say how it was easily one of the best ceremonies they had ever been to. She spent so much time working with us and revising our ceremony to make it tell our story just how we wanted it. So graceful, professional, and memorable. 10/10 would recommend Lisa, she will tell your story how you want it told but in a way your guests will always remember! We will cherish our ceremony and her calming presence up there with us!

When I think of Lisa I think of Maya Angelou’s quote, “…people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” From our first meeting Lisa made us feel so comfortable. She spent time in the consultation really getting to know us and learning about our coming together. You could just tell that she was genuinely happy and excited for us. Lisa has an incredible program in place with workbooks, activities, and meetings leading up to your wedding day. We learned so much! We loved creating our ceremony and truly making it our own, all with Lisa’s guidance. Lisa is a gifted writer. Our family and guests were captivated by the way she shared our story. Every party of the ceremony was so perfect and we extremely grateful for Lisa’s part in that. Lisa has been absolutely magical right from the start - she has a wonderful way of being warm and kind, while still remaining professional. She took time to really get to know us as a couple, and truly cares, checking in regularly even after our wedding to congratulate us on anniversaries and give us lovely little "love adventure" activities. The preparation process she uses to create ceremonies is beyond amazing, she's so incredibly detail-oriented and asks couples to really dig deep into the core of their connection to find what's most important to them in their marriage. I seriously wonder if she's ever had couples decide NOT to get married after asking themselves some of these tough relationship questions! LOL But for those of us who have a genuine connection, it only deepens the bond and allows us to articulate our feelings. And in the process, she hones in on exactly what we need to create the perfect wedding ceremony. The ceremony itself was simply magic. Lisa couldn't have been more at ease, which put us at ease, and her upbeat yet centered energy with the bridal party and audience made sure her delivery was outstanding. The ceremony she created for us was very non-traditional and earth-based, but she did it in a way that even the devout Catholics in our family weren't phased, because the entire thing was just beautiful and full of genuine love. We had so many people come up after Lisa left to tell us how much they enjoyed her! Lisa made the whole process of preparing for our wedding, and the big day itself so special... I wish we could get married again! We may very well have her come do some other ceremonies with us in the future. :)

We had a unique experience due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Colorado wedding was rescheduled TWICE due to COVID-19 and we ended up just eloping in Hawaii instead. Even though we only ever met virtually, from the very beginning Lisa was a fantastic officiant -- she goes way beyond the "officiant" role and really felt like a premarital guide helping us explore our relationship and values as we planned the wedding(s). When we decided to elope, we asked if she would continue working with us, and she guided us through writing our vows, wrote our ceremony for our friend who was officiating, and even met with her via Zoom to help her prepare to officiate for the first time. Lisa was a really integral part of our wedding experience and continually reminded us to focus on each other and our relationship amid all the logistics. Her ceremony- and vow-planning exercises and activities brought us closer, made us think deeply about our relationship, and made our wedding even more meaningful than we would have imagined. We ended up with a beautiful ceremony that would only have been better if we'd been able to have Lisa there. Totally recommend her!

We hired Lisa as our officiant for our June wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens, but you have her for so much more than just your ceremony! Her process of getting to know you as well as her tips, exercises and advice for a harmonious marriage are absolutely amazing and a welcome part of the months leading up to our big day. On the wedding day itself, Lisa knocked the ceremony out of the park and every.single.person in attendance thought that she was a close friend that we had known for many years! A quick side note, Lisa is also a fabulous singer! There were a handful of snafus/issues with the sound system and AV techs at the gardens, but Lisa kept the whole thing moving without a hitch and with plenty of humor. :) We cannot thank Lisa enough for her expertise, warmth, and passion for what she does! The ceremony was amazing and everything we hoped it would be.

With her warmth, sincerity and compassion for what she does, Lisa Hunter was everything we hoped for in a wedding officiant. Lisa was the perfect fit for us, as we wanted to create our own unique ceremony mixing traditional with non-traditional religious and wedding customs. Initially we were hesitant about designing our own ceremony, but as soon as we talked to Lisa, it was a go! She reassured us that we could do and have exactly what we wanted and that she would walk us through the steps to achieve our dream wedding ceremony. Lisa talked with us, took an interest in us and in our family, and encouraged us to enjoy and connect with each other on a deeper level throughout the planning phases of our wedding. Through her “soul of my wedding” emails, we came to realize that the process of planning our ceremony would be as important as the ceremony itself. With lisa’s ceremony prep documents and guides, we were able to create something of our own that was unique and personal. Lisa was right there to guide us, always open to our thoughts and ideas and sharing her expertise. Lisa’s website says. “Elopements and weddings with heart and soul”. We say, nothing could be more accurate! Our backyard wedding -surrounded by our kids and other family, and with Lisa who felt like one of the family, was so full of “heart and soul” and joy and love. Because Lisa took the time to get to know us, and listened to what we wanted and hoped for, we had the wedding ceremony of our dreams.
