We ended up being lucky enough to get Lisa as our officiant at the actual event (Ceremonies with Lisa is a small business run by Lisa and made up of her and a group of wonderful officiants with whom she works closely). My husband and I are from Colorado but were living out-of-state prior to our wedding, and knew we wanted to do an elopement/micro-wedding back home in the mountains, which led us to Lisa. Lisa spent a lot of time getting to know us in the initial call and shared her amazing backstory, too. We immediately felt we could trust Lisa in that she provided high value in her expertise, character/warmth, and well-run small business at an affordable price compared to many other officiants elopements. After we booked her, she helped us decide on a location and time, and our ceremony fell into place. In the year before the ceremony, we received outreach emails with thoughtful ideas for us to prepare for our upcoming nuptials, and her wedding questionnaire was honestly such a lovely process itself that brought us closer together over many meaningful dates answering those questions. She shared tons of resources online and guidance during the year to help us get our venue booked with instructions to find it in the mountains for us/guests, marriage license organized, vendors squared away. We decided to get our own wedding photographer and found Dylan Crossley (who is amazing and we recommend highly, they know each other well from working prior weddings together though Dylan is not officially connected to Ceremonies with Lisa) since we prefer to have one individual photographer whose style/portfolio we love specifically vs a collective/group of photographers. Lisa was super flexible with this process of us finding the right photographer, and had many other recommended vendors! :) (S/o to wise artistry + Dawn for hair/makeup; birch and bramble for flowers). When it came time for the actual ceremony, Lisa organized the morning in such a seamless way that kept us calm and excited; she made sure the guests were positioned in the Sunrise Amphitheater for pictures, got everyone hyped up, coordinated the groom's + bride's entrance beautifully. During the ceremony, she did such a lovely job with our introduction and readings, and also had us pause multiple times to reflect on specific memories in our relationship that really had us tearing up and connecting deeply to the emotions of the day. She also stepped back when we read our personal vows to give us space to enjoy the moment and each other. During the ring exchange and pronouncement, she helped us feel the weight and gravity but also the lightness and joy of the moment. She has fun traditions of taking selfies with the bride+groom and made the signing of our marriage certificate another memorable moment. Such a special day, such a special officiant. THANK YOU LISA!

We also wanted to go somewhere we'd never been, and the bride wanted pinterest-worthy mountainside elopement pictures. We settled on Boulder and followed a Pinterest trail to Sharee, which led us to Ceremonies with Lisa. Lisa confirmed she works with Sharee and shared more about all the things CWL offers. As much as we wanted that super intimate experience, the idea of randomly stepping off to the side to exchange vows mid-photography session felt extremely awkward. The structure and support of having Lisa there during our ceremony is what made it feel like an actual ceremony. She helped ground us to the moment and guided us through the ceremony, which flowed perfectly and was so comfortable and specific to us as individuals and a couple. She did step away while we exchanged personal statements which gave us an even deeper element to that intimacy and also allowed for some beautiful photos. Aside from officiating, Lisa also was extremely helpful and informative during the entire engagement and wedding-planning process; being from out of state, her recommendations for other vendors and things to do during our trip was invaluable. She checked in with us periodically to see if there was anything we needed and had a lot of helpful information not only about the actual elopement but in preparing to create our own ceremony and write our own vows. Lisa has such a bright, loving energy and really makes you feel she is genuinely excited for you and wants to be there for you in any way she can. That excitement and encouragement has meant so much to us! If you're on the fence about working with CLW (and if you've read this far to the end of the review) we could not recommend her more.
