Top tier of cake was dry
Went over order several times. The second time I went over it with her, she didn’t have anything on file
Cake arrived the color white instead of cream like I ordered
I ordered the most basic design and yet it somehow still costed more than my husbands wedding band
Our wedding cake was absolutely delicious. They were able to get us exactly what we wanted with our cake design and flavors. Charity even helped me out and had them add a tart flavor that I had asked for, but at that time they didn't have. They delivered everything and made the presentation absolutely gorgeous on the day of the wedding. I want to get married all over again, just to have another cake!!
The cake was very delicious and looked beautiful for our wedding day. We had more than enough to feed everyone and ourselves for seconds! It was reasonably priced for a moderately sized guest count.
Charity is so talented at what she does and made the most beautiful and yummy cake for our wedding! We went with the Churro flavor with cream cheese filling and it was to DIE for. We got so many compliments from our guests. I would highly recommend her to any bride!
I hate to leave bad reviews, but am doing this in hopes that the same thing does not happen to someone else. IF YOU ARE PLANNING A WEDDING PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH WHO YOU TRUST WITH YOUR INVESTMENTS!! Our wedding cake was delivered by Charity Fent Cake design on October 15, 2021 around 3:20 pm. The Cake at first glance was beautiful and we thought we’d be happy with the almost $700 investment that we made (which my mother actually paid for). When my husband and I cut into the cake at 6:30 pm it was very dense and dry and so crumbly that about half of the top tier just fell off straight onto our plate. As there was much anticipation for the Cake, this was very embarrassing. I then called my mom up to slice the cake for everyone and watched as it completely fell apart and got all over the table. The frosting was falling off of the cake in chunks and the cake itself almost had no form, it was just completely falling apart. Although we went on to have a good night we were very disappointed by this and my mother expected some of her money back. We contacted Charity about the situation and she claims this happened because of the 50 degree weather outside when the Cake was delivered. We are not Cake experts but also know a cake shouldn’t completely crumble to pieces at 50 degrees. Charity said that she checked her watch and remembers how cold it was, and claims there is nothing she could’ve done about that. This is true, but being the cake expert if this is normal, she could’ve told us what would happen, she could’ve given us some sort of heads up to help protect our investment. We would’ve happily moved the Cake inside. This was not done. She offered to make us a 4 inch cake to make up for it but does not take responsibility at all and refused to refund my mom any of the money for the cake. It is quite evident that this business only cares about making as much money as possible and not care about helping protect their customers investment. I am saddened that this is who we trusted with the most special cake of our life.
Wedding cake flavor was just ok. Disappointed in the quality of the finished product. Maybe simple designs are harder to show quality? Charity does not provide take home containers for the leftover cake, so be sure to have that conversation with her way before in case you need to provide your own. Otherwise, you will be caught ill-prepared. Cakes are too tall for standard containers, so you need time to find then right one. We felt that the value was just not there for what we paid.
Charity did both our wedding cake and our groom's cake for our wedding. Not only did the cakes look absolutely amazing, they were delicious! Our guests were in awe of her work. Charity is extremely talented. She is also very helpful and responsive. I even texted her after hours on numerous occasions and she was always quick to respond. I would highly recommend Charity to make your wedding cake!
Not only did the cake and cupcakes look absolutely beautiful but everyone raved about how good everything tasted! Charity was great to work with and delivered an amazing wedding cake!
Charity creates the most beautiful and delicious cakes! She’s an absolute doll and I look forward to working with her again in the future!
Charity made the most beautiful and absolutely amazing cake I've ever seen for our wedding. We had perfect summer flavors that were beyond delicious, and the design was flawless. She worked with us every bit of the way and was beyond kind. We highly recommend her services and will definitely be coming back in a year to enjoy more of her cakes!!
Charity made my wedding cake and it turned out amazing! It looked exactly like I envisioned, and it tasted delicious. Her strawberry and raspberry fillings are sooo yummy! We got so many compliments on the cake, I can't recommend her enough.
My (now) husband and I met Charity at a wedding expo for our cake tasting – we decided to go with a white cake, triple berry filling, and buttercream frosting. I wanted a clean and classic look for our three-tiered cake with champagne and white colored gum paste flowers for the top. A month or so after our tasting it was time to decide on the flowers for the top of the cake. My (now) husband and I had recently visited Charleston and fell in love with Magnolia Plantation while we were there, so we knew we wanted at least one of the flowers to be a beautiful magnolia blossom. My absolute favorite flowers are peonies, so I requested that as our other flower – I wanted them to be a beautiful champagne color to match our wedding colors. Charity suggested that I pick a filler flower to fill in any spaces that would be left on the top of the cake, so I chose hydrangeas. Several times I made it clear that I wanted both the magnolia and peonies to be the main flowers on the top of the cake, so if the cake size needed to be increased to accommodate both, that would be fine. I was reassured that the current cake tier sizes would be sufficient. The flowers and cake remainder were paid for and we waited anxiously for our wedding day to arrive. Our wedding day arrived and our ceremony was beautiful. We had hired a wedding coordinator to set-up our reception venue. When we arrived at the reception venue, our wedding coordinator met my husband and I outside and informed us that there was an issue with the cake. We were told that Charity had informed our coordinator that both the magnolias and the peonies were too large for our top tier of the cake, so Charity had made the decision to use only the magnolia and hydrangea flowers – and both were plain white. What’s upsetting is the fact that we still had to pay for all of the gum paste flowers that were used, even though none of my beloved peonies were used on the cake. I will note that the cake was very moist and delicious. It’s too bad it did not have the aesthetic appeal that we had requested for our special day.
About a month after our wedding, I found out that I was expecting. We knew we wanted to have a Gender Reveal Party and debated on who should make the cake or cupcakes for such an event. We decided to give Charity another shot since her cake was delicious. I contacted her and requested four-dozen cupcakes – half white, half dark chocolate, all with yellow buttercream frosting to resemble bee hives (our theme was “What Will it Bee?”), and half of them with a bee decoration on top. We paid the $120 for the cupcakes and again, anxiously awaited not only our party, but also the gender reveal of our first child. When my husband picked up the cupcakes for the party and brought them to me I assumed there would be four large boxes. Instead, he had one box. I opened the box to find extremely small cupcakes – smaller than a “normal” household muffin/cupcake pan one would use. I was livid, but again the show must go on. I remember my mother looking at the cupcakes displayed on our huge cupcake stand saying, “You paid how much for these? These are smaller than the cupcakes you can make at home.” The only redeeming quality would be if the cupcakes were delicious, like our wedding cake. I expected to bite into a cupcake and get that same dense, moist cake like our wedding cake. What we received tasted like an airy box-mix cake I could have made at home.
It's no exaggeration when I say this was the most beautiful, delicious cake I had ever had! We had the white cake with raspberry and lemon fillings. It was a big hit! I whole heartedly recommend Charity Fent to do any cake you need for a special occasion.
I cannot say enough about My wedding cake from Charity Fent! The cake was so intricate and absolutely gorgeous and it was hands down best cake I have ever had! I had several people come up to me just to tell me how delicious the cake was. Charity Fent was super easy to work with and the cake was so good at the tasting we got another cake through her for the bachelorette patry!
