There are not enough words to explain how amazing Mandi is!!! From the first phone call and throughout the entire wedding planning process, she was so responsive, organized, and above and beyond helpful. Her pictures truly speak for themselves and I can’t even tell you how many strangers have reached out to tell me how beautiful the pictures are!! She also got them back to me in absolutely record time. On wedding day, I didn’t have a wedding planner, and she helped me put together a timeline and made sure everything went off without a hitch. She was soooo much fun to work with, was so laid back (while still being assertive and corralling our wedding party/family for pictures) and made sure everything was low-stress. Most people complain about their wedding portraits and how long it takes, but one of our favorite parts of the day was taking our portraits with Mandi and her second shooter (who was also so fun and fantastic). We are so, so happy Mandi was a part of one of the best days of our lives, and it wouldn’t have been the same without her!!

Mandi was absolutely amazing!! She was our wedding photographer and had packages to fit our needs as we had a more intimate, smaller wedding so we didn’t need a full day of photos. The best part - she had us a highlights gallery the next morning before 10am! We had photos before we even left the hotel. Also, I can’t even begin to explain how obsessed I am with the photos!! I can’t recommend Mandi enough!

Mandi did our engagement and wedding photos. For our engagement photos, she was comminicative, flexible, and gave great suggestions for how to look on our shoot day. It was SO humid on our shoot day. She must've spent hours enditing out our sweat stains! For out wedding, her and her partner, Jenna, worked from 1pm-9pm. They captured everything we could have asked for with very minimal direction from us. I felt so sick all day from stress, but the photos definitely did not reflect that! Mandi hyped us up all day and I felt beautiful! Thank you so much for all your help, Mandi and Jenna! Who knows...maybe we will be reaching out in a few years for family shots!

Even before we were engaged I was eyeing Mandi’s photography on social media and knew she was our top choice photographer. Mandi is the absolute BEST!!! We could not have imagined anyone else as our photographer for our wedding day. Mandi is amazing at what she does, and all of our photos turned out stunning. From the very beginning of the process, Mandi was so helpful and patient and gave us amazing advice. Mandi is simply the best. After having our originally booked photographer fall through 3 months prior to our wedding, she coincidentally (despite planning to take the weekend off for her birthday) made herself available for us. We did a last minute engagement shot with her and realized how lucky we were that we ended up with her as our wedding photographer. This past weekend she shot our dream wedding (with her wonderful assistant) and made the entire day flow so effortless. She kept her composure when things didn’t go accordingly to schedule and helped my husband and I feel totally comfortable and at peace the entire day. She made the day so much fun. Less than 36 hours after the wedding, we got our sneak peaks and every single one was flawless. I would highly recommend Mandi if you want a sweet, fun and extremely talented photographer to capture your big day!

Mandi is the BEST! We did an engagement session with her a year before our wedding and I knew we were going to be so thrilled come our wedding day (and I was right!!!). Her bubbly personality put us at ease and helped our pictures turn out beautifully for both our engagement session and wedding day. Her light and bright photos captured our vibe perfectly. She was a highlight of my wedding, and I cannot recommend her enough. We also paid for a second photographer Jenna who was also wonderful!

Choosing Mandi as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions I could have made!! Not only is she so sweet and amazing to work with (especially with all of our COVID-related changes!), she captured every detail of our wedding day exactly as I had wanted, and then some!! In addition to taking the perfect pictures, Mandi helped with my dress buttons, my bustle, and calmed me down multiple times throughout the day when I thought we were running behind. I cannot recommend her enough!

Mandi is the absolute best and there just aren't enough words to describe how amazing she is. From the beginning, she was always super sweet and gave great advice as we planned our wedding. Our engagement photos were absolutely perfect! I instantly knew that Mandi was the perfect photographer for us. On our wedding day, not only was Mandi an amazing photographer but an amazing friend. I couldn't have survived the day without her. She helped the day flow so smoothly and if anything crazy came up, she handled it! We had flooding on our wedding day and the original spot we were going to take pictures was not available. However, when I was told this, Mandi already had a plan in place. She looked for an alternative spot to get our photos on the water that wasn't far from the venue! She honestly saved me from having a meltdown lol. She also gave me tips throughout the night that really calmed my nerves and allowed me to relax. Even the small things (such as removing my hair tie from my wrist before walking down the aisle!) she did not forget. My wedding was amazing because of her. Our pictures are absolutely fantastic. I cry every time I look at them. They are so beautiful and the variety/angles from throughout the day are astonishing. Mandi and her assistant are so talented. Your wedding day will go by quickly, but if you have an amazing photographer like Mandi, you will see the full day captured moment by moment. I have received so many compliments of our photos and have already hung large prints up around our house. They are just perfect. Thank you again Mandi!

Mandi was amazing to work with for our engagement and wedding photographs! In the beginning stages, she was very responsive and receptive to my somewhat out of the ordinary request... To shoot our photos at sunrise. She thought outside of the box for us to create a package that fit for our vision and our day. Our engagement shots were awesome, shot at sunrise in two locations with an outfit change. Mandi rolled with it all seamlessly and our pics turned out incredible! Then on our wedding day, she basically played coordinator when ours dropped the ball and helped make sure we got all the important photos we wanted. Our photos are candid, gorgeous, bright, and natural ... full of amazing photos we’ll cherish. We may have had more than a couple things for our wedding go awry, but choosing Mandi was not one of those things!

If you want quality work, Mandi is the person for the job. We both happen to be type-A, organization freaks, which meant I had the upmost trust in her from the start. She worked with my schedule and always made time to put my worried mind at ease by answer my questions quickly and thoroughly. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work and support I received from her on my wedding day and the planning days leading to. Her work is gorgeous. Before we said our goodbyes the night of my wedding I told Mandi I'd see her again...for my maternity-shoot, baby-shoot, and family portraits for years to come. She has a client for life.

Our photographer was one thing my (now) husband and I both knew we wanted someone who was top notch and photos we could have and love for a lifetime. Mandi was the answer! I actually found her on Instagram (thank you social media!) and immediately fell in love with her style and her photos. The light, bright, airy, effervescent glow that came across in every single one, was exactly what we wanted. Not to mention how genuine the photos seemed, whereas when we'd seen other photos some of them seemed posed. From start to finish, Mandi was wonderful to work with. She met us in Georgetown for our engagement photo session (which was a blast!) and worked with us for over an hour, (which was the allotted time). On our wedding day her team, (Mandi, Madeline, and Julie) were all wonderful. Mandi stayed with me, while Madeline (her second shooter) worked with the groom, they captured some of the most breathtaking photos we've ever seen (and we've only seen the previews!!!). Throughout the day she checked in, and kept me calm. Julie (her assistant and mom) was amazing, and helped me with my dress and veil and maneuvering around. We never felt pressured by her to add anything, in fact she was incredibly reasonable when we entered our contract with her and explained why we might want the 8 hour vs 10 hour package. We went with 8 hours, based on the number of guests and length of our event. I cannot recommend Mandi and Chesapeake Charm Photography enough, from her style, to her professionalism, to her team - and down the road would 10000000% seek her out and keep my fingers crossed for her to photograph other life events; e.g.: baby photos!!!). Thank you Mandi!!!!!!!!

Mandi was a literal lifesaver for us! Our original photographer fell through, and she last minute (2 months out) agreed to photograph our wedding! She even gave me a custom package since I did not need engagement photos. Mandi, her second shooter, and assistant (her Mom) were all so incredibly pleasant, professional, and helpful! (Down to her mom feeding me cheese inbetween takes, haha!) Me, my husband and all of our party are terrible at posing and they gave us great direction. Our photos are GORGEOUS and beyond my hopes and expectations. They are so colorful and bright, and I think really capture genuine moments and emotions. She took so many, too! Overall, I would absolutely recommend Mandi to anyone. All of our friends and family comment on how beautiful our photos are, and I feel that she truly captured our day fully.

Mandi is wonderful! She did our engagement photos and our wedding photos and all of them came out amazing!! I don't know how we will be able to pick what photos to frame, because there are so many great pictures!! It rained the whole day for our wedding and you could not tell in the photos Mandi took! She even worked with the rain to take a stunning photo of us at the end of the night. When my husband and I got engaged, I knew one of the most important parts of our wedding would be the photography. As someone who loves photos, I wanted hundreds of beautiful pictures to help us remember our big day. When I came across Mandi from Chesapeake Charm on Instagram, I did some research, looked at her portfolio, and knew she was THE ONE (ya know, the photographer "the one", my husband still gets the title of "the one"). I immediately contacted her and we scheduled to meet. From first meeting her to getting our final photos back after our wedding (ahem, we have thousands), Mandi has exceeded our expectations! The words have not been invented that adequately describe the experience that is working with Mandi Thommen of Chesapeake Charm Photography. The best I can do is to say that she is professional, talented, passionate, prepared, and above all, a true pleasure and joy to work with. I’m writing for both myself and my husband when I say we could not have picked someone better to cover our engagement session in August 2016 and our wedding in October 2016 where she tirelessly covered nine absolutely packed hours and still found the time to implement some different techniques that made our photos all the more stunning. Everything was so well organized and she truly takes the time to prepare and understand each of her clients and their unique ideas, and plans, and venues and it shows. She took charge on my wedding day and I didn’t worry once that a photo hadn’t been taken when it should have been because that’s the amount of effort she took preparing for our wedding. Mandi even showed up with a set of umbrellas for our wedding party to use and pose under since our perfect day ended up being perfectly rainy and those photos are some of my favorites. I’m also thankful someone thought of umbrellas because we may or may not have forgotten. We have been endlessly complemented on one photo in particular for being unique and stunning and all we can say is “We had a great photographer.” Mandi managed to capture more than three thousand magical photographs, both candid and posed, between the two sessions and to this day, I can’t help but smile…no…beam when I look at them. I would not hesitate to use Mandi again in the future and certainly plan to! We walked away with such a positive experience and a new friend.

*Had to update the review after seeing our wedding photos!* *I was already raving about Mandi after our engagement photos, but I have to again for our wedding photos after having seen them on her website and the sneak peaks she gave us. Mandi is an absolute genius when it comes to light. We had an after-dark ceremony with lots of lanterns, candles, and other random lighting elements, and the photos perfectly captured the fairy tale it felt like. I know it can't be easy shooting a wedding at night, but Mandi just thrived.* Mandi shot our engagement photos this past fall at Oriole Park at Camden Yards and each and every single picture was to die for! Not exaggerating. Mandi is great a capturing candid moments, but can also pose in a really natural and effortless way. She made us feel so comfortable the whole time. She also knows how to use natural lighting to her advantage, and all of our images (and her whole body of work) are just so bright and full of life. Not only is Mandi an amazing photographer, she's also just a really cool person. She's fun to be around, really easy to work with, and it's so obvious she's passionate about she does. I can't wait for her to shoot our wedding this October!

Mandi was amazing! She did our engagement photoshoot back at our college in southern Maryland, St. Mary's College of Maryland. She took the time to speak with us and really listen to what we wanted out of our photoshoot. She made sure to go to all the places on campus that were important to us. She gave great direction and we felt comfortable the whole time. She had us smiling and laughing for almost every picture! She was able to capture our candid happiness, which is so important. We are so thrilled with her photographs and have them in an album and framed in our home. We used one for our Save the Date cards and got so many compliments! Mandi is gifted with photographing in natural light! I would highly recommend her.

Mandi is amazing. She did our engagement pictures which included our (at the time) 10 month old daughter. The pictures were absolutely beautiful. In November 2017, Mandi photographed our wedding and I could not be happier with the pictures. Posed and candid pictures were all done so well, and she even had a sneak peek of about 25 pictures at the reception! They were ones of all of us getting ready for the wedding. Besides her wonderful skills, she is professional, kind, and she has a great sense of humor. I cannot say enough good things about Mandi 💕
