Cincy Event Planning is a full service special occasion event and wedding planning company that was created by our founder Julie Schmidt. Julie planned her first wedding in 2003 and by 2006 she was planning weddings and event full time. In the fall of 2015 Stephanie Porter took over ownership. At Cincy Event Planning our goal is to help ease the stress of event planning at any stage of the planning process. We focus on classic, elegant design with modern style and a touch of whimsy. We have no rules when it comes to planning events and we actually prefer to break a few! Let us help you ease the stress of event planning at any stage of the planning process!

Throughout our longer engagement, Stephanie was a constant source of support, regularly checking in with us on how we were feeling during the planning process. It meant so much to have her thoughtful guidance throughout the entire planning process.
Stephanie and her team took care of so many details, from picking up our wedding cakes, delivering décor to the venue, and even arranging for my flowers to be preserved after we left for our honeymoon. She meticulously crafted our timeline and ensured that every special moment and photo we wanted was captured (and as a Type-A bride, there were quite a few!).
We chose CEP’s partial planning service and it exceeded our expectations in every way, and was worth every penny we spent. The planning checklist alone was invaluable, breaking tasks into manageable pieces and helping us avoid becoming overwhelmed. Stephanie was instrumental in helping me refine my vision, from décor and color palette to flowers and accent colors, and the end result was more beautiful than we ever imagined.
We received so many compliments from vendors, family, and guests about how exceptional Stephanie and her team were—many remarked that they couldn't imagine having a wedding without someone like her as part of their day. Hiring Stephanie was truly one of the best decisions we made. It allowed us and our families to be fully present for every moment, knowing that if anything unexpected arose, she would handle it seamlessly (and if something did go wrong, we still don't know about it).

My husband is Muslim and we needed to ensure no food had pork (difficult in Cincinnati) and that some family members were not served alcohol. Stephanie did not bat an eye at those asks and ensured everyone in our families felt comfortable.
Having Stephanie's team there made it possible for me to be in the moment at the wedding for every second. Stephanie made sure that everything happened on time and in the right sequence.
The other thing that impressed me was her knowledge of vendors in the area. When I was overwhelmed and didn't know where to start, she always had vetted vendors that she trusted and recommended.
She was so patient with me--answering all of my questions, going with me to vendor meetings, staying even-keeled when I was stressed.
At the last minute I realized that I had not booked microphones like I thought for the ceremony. Stephanie figured it out and sourced a microphone for the ceremony during the eleventh hour during one of the busiest wedding weekends of the year.

They do it all! We placed an order for a late night snack and when it came time for it to be delivered, it didn't show up. Jules also has great relationships with other vendors, which is super important (and I mean, seriously, who wouldn't love this woman?!) And aside from Julie, the rest of her team the day of the wedding kicked some serious ass. Team CEP did everything from bandaging my 13 year old sister's blisters from her shoes to finding my groom at the end of the reception when I couldn't. This is an amazing group of women and I would 1000000% recommend CEP.

elected the day-of-coordination package, Julie was great to work with, she helped us find a package that was in our budget and best met our needs. Our day of coordinator, Therese, was AMAZING!!! She reviewed all my timelines, if I had any concerns about vendor contracts she read over them and gave me her opinion, and she was always prompt to reply to my emails.
She did a great job coordinating the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. The peace of mind alone was well worth the cost. Everyone kept telling me, something will go wrong on your wedding day....they were wrong. WIth the help of CEP, everything was perfect. It was an absolute dream come true. Having these girls around made it easy for me to relax and enjoy my wedding day. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. I would HIGHLY recommend them to any of my friends or family getting married. They're a delight to work with.

town as we did. We even paid more to specifically have Julie as our Planner vs. someone on her staff. But in actuality, we had to do 85% of the pre-planning by ourselves. Julie only went to 1 of our vendor appointments which was 1 that appeared to be a friend of hers that she was encouraging us to use. Communication was absolutely horrendous! She literally did not call me one time to check and see how I was doing. Every conversation or email we ever had was initiated by us. Her personality is that of a corporate event planner not one that deals with emotional events such as weddings. We would wait 2 or 3 weeks for email responses which is unacceptable. It came to a point where we had to request a discount because of the disappointing service. Which she agreed to as she could not deny her faults. She even told us that she did not coordinate rehearsal dinners for clients when in fact some reviews mention her coordination of their dinners. I have only given a 2 rating instead of a 1 or 0 based on the satisfactory service that was provided on the Day-of. We truly can't figure out if there was a reason why we seemed to receive such poor service when most other reviews are so positive. We are not difficult people. If you choose this vendor, we truly hope that your experience is many times better than ours as dealing with Julie was just about the most stressful part of our wedding planning. Unfortunate to say the least.

The day could not have been more amazing- I left many of the decisions to Julie and her team as I really was unsure about many details. When we arrived to the reception, I got a sneak peak of the room and almost had tears (happy tears that is). Every detail was perfect. Julie really got to know me and what I liked, pulling together the most amazing reception I could have asked for.
