I worked with Heather Sheffield and have nothing but good things to say about her! She was so patient and helpful. After trying on a few gowns that I had picked out she knew exactly what I was looking for and came back with the dress I ultimately said yes to! The manufacturer says I was sized wrong and also said that a bra or supportive undergarments were needed with my dress and that was never communicated to me- I was told by the store no bra was needed for this dress. They also mentioned that the clip in support it has is not how you’re supposed to be sized and I was.
There were 3 separate issues with the dress (no hook, a random stain, and then the dress boning basically becoming undone after 10 minutes of wearing this dress. It is completely inappropriate for a bride to experience this on her big day. My alterations only hemmed my dress and added the belt, absolutely nothing else was done so this is the store and Eddy K’s responsibility as I bought my dress through them. The way this dress wore was uncomfortable and made me self conscious the whole day and I had no other option. I would hate for this to happen to any other bride who gets this same dress.
I tried to be patient, kind, and understanding despite my frustration and all my photos being ruined, but no one is willing to help. Beware. All blame is being put on others instead of taking responsibility for the poor experience and clear issues here.
Note: Eddy K Joyce is the gown. First two pics are wedding day and last two were taken a week before. I spent $1400 on something that’s supposed to last a lifetime and be passed down- that has now been taken away from me.

It is very disheartening to receive a bad review. Our last negative review was from another bridal shop pretending to be a customer. As our many 5-star reviews show, we care so much for our brides and customers.
After her wedding, Gabriela con...
tacted us and told us that her wedding was ruined by the photographer, makeup, hair, caterer and pretty much everyone. However - she said her one bright part of the wedding was the dress and us. But here we are now - 7 months after the wedding - only worthy of a 1-star review.
We communicated back-and-forth with Gabriela and facilitated the conversation with the manufacturer, just to make sure there wasn’t anything wrong with the dress. The manufacturer repeatedly stated they never told her the dress was sized wrong. We even went up a size to accommodate for the bust.
Gabriela did not go to one of our recommended alterations companies. After final try on and picking up of the gown, we cannot be responsible once it’s taken to alterations. We go over this carefully in detail with every bride. It’s impossible for the hook to be broken/missing at the store. We would have discovered this at the final try on. We would never let someone leave with a gown missing a hook.
From review - “The manufacturer says I was sized wrong and also said that a bra or supportive undergarments were needed with my dress and that was never communicated to me.” ------This is exactly what an alteration professional is for. Everyone’s body is different. There is not a one size fits all wedding gown.
The photo of a “missing hook” was taken at Gabriela’s alteration lady’s home. This was not at the bridal shop. Somehow the hook was there at our shop when she picked the dress up.
From review “The way this dress wore was uncomfortable and made me self-conscious the whole day.” ----Once again, this is an alterations issue. Brides go to alterations to get the dress fit to them. Wearing a bra or additional undergarments is usually decided at alterations.
We are very disappointed that this was not a great experience for you. However, it seems every aspect of your wedding was not to your expectations. We value you as a customer and appreciate you supporting Classic Bride and Formals.

service was perfect for getting my dress ready for the wedding day. It was a cool experience to be their first bride in a black wedding gown! My now husband cried when he saw me walk down the aisle which is a big win for me 😂❤️We love all things unique or vintage and I’m glad he loved it almost as much as I did! They also recommended an alteration shop whom they knew could alter the style of my gown, which was super helpful. The atmosphere of the boutique is amazing and lead a friend of mine to also purchase a gown from them also since she found it much less overwhelming than other bridal shops. I love everything about my dress and so do my friends and family! Definitely come see them if you’re searching for your dream wedding dress!

browse their gown room, tagging the ones you think you’ll want to try on. And then get You settled in the private room. I had my best friend/MOH and My daughter with me and a handful of people on zoom. HEATHER was incredibly sweet, and receptive. She observed and listened well enough to tell me when I wouldn’t like a gown based on the things I had previously said I didn’t like when trying on other dresses. She could even tell when I was overwhelmed and needed a minute to breath.
I picked a dress, went home and realized I hated it for me. I got ahold of her and explained my thoughts. Needless to say, I went back less than 48 hours later, by myself, and simply enjoyed the experience. Heather helped walk me threw the process and made me feel like an absolute princess. I ended up finding my dress that day. The one that made me feel beautiful. That made me feel like a princess. Like a bride. Without anyone opinions.
It’s was the most magical experience and I could never thank Heather enough for such amazing customer service, expertise and hospitality.

Both times, the ladies who were assigned to assist us went above and beyond gathering all the dresses, zipping all them/ straightening the train, offered us all mimosas, and were honestly great hype women. I can’t remember who helped my sister, but the lady who helped me was named Aly and she was new, but I would’ve never guessed if she hadn’t said, she was awesome! at as much as I loved the big, poufy dress, it wasn’t the best choice for my venue (outside in July here in NC). The other dress was equally wonderful but totally different. Then my lovely stylist told me they could make it with an ivory underlay below the lace instead of the champagne/beige color I was wearing. We found another dress by the same designer with an ivory under-layer to give me a better idea of what the final product would look like. The results were absolutely magical! I knew right then it was my absolute dream dress! It was everything I wanted but could only partially put into words. I am so happy that my best friend (and fellow Classic Bride) recommended we make the trip to this salon! My experience was nothing short of perfection here, and I fully recommend anyone who lives even remotely close to the salon go look for “the dress” here!

I ended up choosing a gorgeous dress there and was given 10% off even though the sale technically ended in late July when I first went and came back to get the dress in early August. I highly recommend shopping here. It was my favorite out of all the bridal shops I’ve been to and was much bigger with better pricing than average.

The Classic Bride team contacted me after my appointment with a personalized thank you card in the mail as well as an e-mail and text message inviting me back in if I had not found my perfect dress. I went on a second visit to the shop and still was unsure of my dress. When talking about other dresses I had tried on, Phaedra told me she knew the one dress I was talking about was my dress, I just didn't know it yet. Phaedra did not have the dress in stock, but offered me a "try and buy." She found the dress, in my size, and ordered it for me. Needless to say, it ended up being my perfect dress! Even though it was about a 45 minute drive, every visit to Classic Bride was well worth the trip. The personalized service and attentiveness to brides is one of a kind. mentioned that I had a cat and they wanted to help me keep it perfect! After alterations, they steamed the dress and veil for free and made that process effortless. They did such a great job that even after a 1.5 hour trip home from Classic Bride and a 10 hour trip to our wedding, I didn't even have to touch up the steaming! I refer everyone I know to this shop because they are without a doubt the best :) Thank you Classic Bride team for helping such a stressful part of wedding planning so easy!!!

I was even able to utilize their end-of-year sale for a free vail and discount! They were very flexible with appointment scheduling. I forgot to bring my vail to the steaming and they were able to do it for me on the spot when I picked up my dress. Phaedra and her team are incredible! I felt beautiful and perfect on my wedding day thanks to that dress!
