I reached out to Cody before I toured my venue and she gave me so many tips, tricks, and insights into the venue without even having me as a client. I felt so warmed and welcomed by her generosity and was sold on hiring her from then on. Throughout my 18 month planning process, Cody and I had weekly calls to discuss my vision for the wedding and what we needed to do to accomplish that. Cody was the best support system during that stressful process! She truly will help you achieve your dream wedding, while also ensuring you know the risks to certain decisions that you may not think of as a non-wedding planner! I reached out to Cody during my initial search for a wedding/day of coordinator. We chatted on the phone about my vision, what I was looking for, my theme, and she gave me so many recommendations; as well as suggestions, as I was planning a wedding out of my local area. My fiancé came home, and I cried to him; telling him I fell in love with Cody over a 30 minute phone call, and I wanted her so badly. Cody was hands down worth every single penny! From zoom meetings to weekly phone calls, and every email in between- Cody was available, responsive, caring, and open to every need I had. She embraced my vision, worked magic with all of my other wedding vendors, and most of all- got to know me! I feel like I made a friend for life in Cody- she was there for my best moment- and every detail leading up to it. Let me start out by saying I can't count the number of times before and after I got engaged that I said I would never get a wedding planner and could do it all myself with my mom (I laugh as I just typed that by the way). Well, that was until I met Cody Smith! As I began booking vendors, I continued to get asked who my wedding planner was and kept saying that I did not need one. They probably thought I was nuts. It wasn't until I booked my photographer that he explicitly told me I needed a wedding planner and the wedding planner I should hire was Cody Smith. That was hands down the best advice I received during the planning process. From our first call with Cody, we knew she was definitely our girl! As we began working with Cody, we loved everything about her. Cody is incredibly talented at what she does and on top of that is so kind and truly cares about you not as just a bride but as a person. Cody took every idea that we had for our wedding and brought it to a whole other level that I could never have imagined. The time she puts in, the detail, energy, and dedication that Cody brings makes you feel as if you are the only bride she is working with. Cody was exactly what I never knew I needed but can't describe how lucky and grateful I am to have had Cody as my wedding planner. Cody is so much more than just your wedding planner; she becomes your family. My wedding was the wedding of my dreams and perfect in every way. I can 100% say that my wedding day was perfect because I had Cody as a wedding planner. Cody, I can't thank you enough for all that you did for us and our wedding. I am so grateful for you. When my venue required a day coordinator, I sighed because it would be an extra cost I did not account for in my wedding budget. I Googled "day of coordinators" in Charlottesville and Cody Smith popped up. I immediately knew after the initial call I wanted Cody on my wedding team because she put me at ease and laid out a game plan. The thing I appreciate most about Cody is her responsiveness. Whenever I text and email Cody questions at random times of the day, she'd answer them right away. Over the next few months we became good friends! As my wedding day got closer and closer, I realized hiring a day of coordinator was a fantastic investment! I didn't have to stress about creating my wedding timeline, communicating with my vendors about the day of, or setting up my reception tables for the guests because Cody did all of that and did an amazing job (I got plenty of compliments from guests)! Even my vendors told me they had worked with a variety of day of coordinators and Cody was one of the best they've worked with! On the day of the wedding, her staff, Meg, did a phenomenal job steaming the bridesmaids dresses and my wedding dress and veil. Meg spent the day following the ladies around during the ceremony and cocktail hour making sure we were hydrated and made sure all our stuff was ready to go at the end of the night. The other staff, Binta, also did a phenomenal job steaming the groomsmen and groom's suit. Binta also followed the groomsmen during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Cody's staff were so helpful the day of the wedding and made sure both the bridal party and grooms party were on schedule! Cody's husband, Damian, even came out and helped. He drove the late guests from one part of the venue to the ceremony location in his pick-up truck. Near the end of my wedding reception, lots of guests came up to me and told me how lovely cocktail hour was and how much they enjoyed the wedding day. I told them it was all due to Cody's hard work, everything ran smoothly because of her! Cody also packed all my things after the wedding and put everything in my parents' car. Cody packed everything so neatly and everything was there. If you are looking for a day of coordinator or a full planning wedding coordinator, I highly recommend Cody. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She's got your back all the way and is an awesome person!

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Cody before our wedding planning, but now she is one of my favorite humans on this planet. Cody takes the time to get to know you and goes above and beyond to make your wedding the best day ever. When things go wrong day of you will never even know about it because she just handles it. She is incredibly professional while also being kind, compassionate, and flexible. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND HIRE CODY! Everyone in my family fell in love with her and I keep getting compliments from everyone months later on how great my planner was. She is simply the best! She knows the best vendors and does an amazing job at keeping you in your budget no matter the budget. The weekly calls kept me sane and on track. She has amazing google docs that plan and track every moment and every detail. Before hiring Cody I picked a bad hair/makeup vendor and when the time came to fire them Cody handled everything and even got back all of my money. I was such a high stress bride but our mantra for our wedding was “In Cody We Trust.” And she never let us down. I cannot speak highly enough about her and her entire family.

Superlative. So far and away beyond any expectation I had for a wedding planner. Cody not only gives world-class, above-and-beyond services, but she’s also a really awesome and cool individual to whom I was very sad to say goodbye. When a primary vendor backed out on us only 6 weeks out, Cody found a backup nearly overnight which was better than our original. I forgot my shoes and handbag en route to my rehearsal dinner (which would have made me 30 minutes late!), and Cody brought them to me so I would be on time. She had spot-on recommendations for elevated style choices throughout the process, great vendors which we loved, and was available around the clock for us. Her day-of team took care of everything - steaming our wedding party garments, setting up the welcome table and all the ceremony decor, moving (a LOT) of flowers from the ceremony to the reception area, setting up the reception dining decorations, and then packing all my things from my get-ready afternoon into my car during the reception. I could not imagine more from a wedding planner nor recommend her enough. Thank you so much Cody for making our wedding come together and be so gorgeous!!! From start to finish, Cody was there for us every step of the way. She brings a level of passion, organization, warmth and love to her work that is truly rare to find in any field. It's so obvious that she loves what she does, and she is very very good at it! One of the things I appreciate most about Cody is how accessible she was through the entire planning process. Planning a wedding can be nerve wracking. There are so many details. Cody was always available to talk us through decisions and always responded very quickly to texts and emails. She has a thorough knowledge of all the local vendors and was always able to come up with suggestions for us when we were stumped. The value she brings to the table was well above and beyond what we were expecting. I really don't know what we would have done without her. For the day of the wedding, Cody and her team Binta and Meg made sure everything ran like clockwork. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves completely thanks to the amazing job they did of making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be there. I hired Cody in December 2018 when she was with her previous business to help me plan my April 2020 wedding. Little did either of us know the wedding we were planning did not actually happen until April 2022! Throughout the craziness of replanning and rescheduling (several times), Cody was the biggest help and the constant support I needed. I was living in Texas at the time, and she made planning from afar incredibly easy- from looking at venues, photographers, catering down to making sure I had a nice hanger for pictures of my dress. She schedules weekly calls with each of her brides where together, you go through your amazingly organized spreadsheet and for me, she would give me very specific to-dos (this is EXACTLY what I needed!) and I would assure her that I didn't have any questions because she had everything handled. When my now husband would want to be included on certain details she worked around his crazy schedule (and odd hours in different time zones) to make sure his voice was heard as well. On the day of the wedding, I cannot tell you how amazing she was. If anything went wrong that day, I had no idea about it because Cody made everything perfect and flawless. Her day-off staff (Phoebe and Binta) were so helpful to everyone in the wedding party and I received so many compliments about the event and how organized and beautiful it was, and I told them all the same thing- "Thanks! My wedding planner did it!" Cody made our dream wedding happen and we couldn't be more thankful.

If you hire no other vendor for your wedding, HIRE CODY. She was incredible from start to finish, and there is no way I can put into words how much she did for us and our wedding day. We hired her for full-planning services on the recommendation of a friend who is a vendor in the industry (if someone has been working in the wedding industry for 10+ years and recommends someone, you know they are going to be excellent). As soon as I talked to Cody on the phone for the first time, I felt my stress level reduce and knew that everything would be great. From the start, she made planning feel manageable by giving us a task list with due dates, sharing contacts and spreadsheets to keep us organized, and scheduling weekly phone calls to check-in and discuss progress. She was extremely accessible, available to chat at ANY time outside of our scheduled phone calls, and was my go-to person for everything wedding related. She became both a friend and a professional guide (even a bit of a therapist!), which is exactly what you want in a wedding planner. Cody has planned 500+ weddings over the course of her career, and her expertise was invaluable. She is hyper-organized and fully dedicated to her couples. She was an advocate for us throughout the entire process, managing vendor and family drama with immense finesse and professionalism. She worked within our budget to help craft the wedding of our dreams, and I definitely think we SAVED money by hiring her because she helped us decide what was and was not worth the expense to meet our goals! Beyond everything she did to plan our wedding, I cannot say enough about what she did to SAVE our wedding on the day-of. Despite a mid-March wedding date, we had a huge snow storm move in the morning of our wedding. There was a layer of ice underneath inches of snow, whiteout conditions, high winds, and we LOST POWER AND WATER at the venue for 7 hours. Cody had already come up with Plans B and C for bad weather leading up to the date, and was in constant communication with all of our vendors (and the power company!) to make sure everything happened according to plan. Since the road was dangerous during the morning, she had her husband shuttle our vendors up and down the mountain and got a generator put in the bridal suite so we could still get our hair done. She had already put into place her plans for getting generators for the bistro lights and the DJ, and worked with our string trio to extend their booking so we would have live music for cocktail hour and dinner. The power and water luckily turned on an hour before the ceremony started, but honestly I had so much confidence in Cody's ability to manage the situation that I never even got stressed about it! Throughout the entire day, I knew that Cody had it covered no matter what, so I was able to enjoy. Looking back, I know that had anyone else been managing the wedding, it likely would have fallen apart. But Cody kept everything together and made our day-of experience extremely special. Her staff, Phoebe and Binta, were amazing and made sure we stayed on time, felt cared for, and had nothing left to worry about. Even the vendors on the day-of kept sharing their astonishment that things went on without a hitch despite the conditions. I cannot rave enough about our experience working with Cody. She is exceptional, and the wedding planner that you need.

Hard to express how excellent and invaluable Cody Smith was for my daughter's March 12 wedding on a mountaintop. (We had blizzard conditions, 60-mph winds, a long power outage the day-of with 120 guests already there.) I've never seen anyone work harder, smarter, or longer. Who knew communicating with the power company was part of the job? She was brilliant, and the wedding was GORGEOUS. I was surprised by how attentive she was to the guests once things were underway. I expected wedding coordination. I didn't know she would be so kind and helpful to every single person in attendance. She became family to us. We will miss her now that it's over!

Cody is the absolute greatest! If you are even considering a wedding planner for your wedding, you NEED Cody. We have been working with her to plan our wedding in March and we are so grateful for her guidance, professionalism, and coordination with our venue and vendors. She has helped us navigate the most economical routes for many things, helped us plan for things that would have been huge oversights, and done all of this in a manner that feels like working with someone who is one of your closest friends. Her decades of experience in wedding and event planning are reflected in everything she does. We cannot recommend her enough, and will be our personal recommendation to any friends or family getting married in the future.

If you truly want to know just how incredibly Cody is, consider the fact that I am writing this review and my wedding is still 10 months away. When I was inquiring of what felt like hundreds of wedding planners, Cody was the only one who emailed me within the hour and immediately requested that we jump on a phone call together to talk more about the wedding and me and my fiance as a couple. It was less than 5 minutes into the call that I knew she was the wedding planner for us. Cody has truly gone ABOVE & BEYOND in helping me plan my wedding from creating our layout, giving me a list of vendors & recommendations to secure, helping me negotiate rates with the vendors and pointing me in the right direction when I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. Shoot, she even secured me an incredible caterer after they had already told me my venue was too far away because even the catering company knows she is worth it. Cody is so incredibly knowledgeable on ALL things wedding related. I honestly couldn't imagine trying to plan this wedding without her. She may not have a ton of reviews just yet, but I guarantee you will not be even the slightest bit disappointed with her service.
