Comfort Island was a dream setting for our August wedding. Stephen and his team worked closely with us and our planners to bring our vision to life. The property has so many beauti...

ful, distinct spaces that every part of the day felt like its own little vignette. We got ready in the historic bedrooms, did our first look on a bluff overlooking the river, and before getting dressed, our wedding party even snuck in swims at the beach, which set such a joyful, easygoing tone for the day. Our ceremony on the side lawn was breezy and cool on a hot summer afternoon, followed by an open-air dinner on the wraparound porch perched above the river. Later, we moved down to the lower lawn and gazebo for dessert and dancing, and ended the night with a tour boat pulling into the docks to whisk everyone away on a catered afterparty cruise down to Clayton. There is truly nothing else like this location in the 1000 Islands. Comfort Island gave us a wedding day that felt deeply personal, timeless, and completely “us,” and we are so grateful to Stephen for opening his incredible home and creating a place where memories like this are possible.

My daughter and son in law were fortunate enough to get married on Comfort Island in September 2024. From the planning of the event to the day of, my expectations for how the day ...

would unfold were exceeded at every turn. The home and grounds on the island were immaculate. The wedding party were able to get ready in the stunning upstairs floors of the mansion, and as the guests arrived, there were ample places for them to sit and explore while waiting for the ceremony in the gazebo to begin. Our chef prepared meal was served on beautiful china dinnerware with silver place settings and crystal drink ware. The guests were all seated on the front and side porches which gave an incredibly intimate feel to the dinner and speech portion of the day. The host met our every need, was warm and welcoming to everyone associated with the day. In the end, this wedding was the most beautiful and unforgettable experience I have ever had, and though I may be biased as the mother of the bride, this sentiment was echoed by all of the guests who spoke to me about thus incredible event. Without hesitation, I recommend the Comfort Island venue for an unforgettable and unique wedding experience. With the mansion and the River as your backdrop, this venue is guaranteed to create a memory that will last for years to come.

y showcased the river's magic—and this was it! The Highlights: • The Atmosphere: From the moment guests arrived on the island, they were transported. The restored Victorian estate is so stunning and views of the St. Lawrence dotted with islands looking down the channel toward Boldt Castle is truly something special. • The Experience: Dining on the wrap-around porch with the venue’s Waterford crystal and fine china felt like an intimate, elevated gala. • The Property: The layout is perfect for exploration. We moved from a waterfront ceremony on the peninsula to a live band in the side yard, capturing sunset portraits on an antique wooden boat in between. • The Accommodations: The third-floor primary suite and the light-filled bedrooms provided the perfect, spacious settings for our wedding parties to get ready. Stephen has maintained an absolute gem of a home on the river. Our guests are still raving that this was the most unique and beautiful wedding they’ve ever attended. If you want a historic, elevated, and authentic Thousand Islands experience- this is it!
