We couldn't have given our daughter the wedding of her dreams without the Courtyard Marriott/Ankeny! Big shout out to Ann and her staff, especially Val. She was there for the bridal party with breakfast at 8 AM on Saturday, throughout the day...
, and there the next morning to serve breakfast again at 9 AM. I am not sure she even went home to sleep Saturday night! The staff did things to help that weren't even ask, but with their experience, they knew what needed to be done and just did it. Many, many thanks! I will be recommending Ankeny Courtyard to others for their upcoming weddings!

I was nervous about not having tried the food before we committed to booking the venue, but all of our food was delicious and it was easy to provide gluten/dairy free options to our guests with those needs. I can’t think of one bad thing to say about our experience here, these folks are fantastic and we would highly recommend them for any wedding or reception!

The event space was large and can accommodate a large number of guests. The catering manager, Ann Bockenstedt, was most helpful in arranging the event. Many options for your wedding day are available(rehearsal dinner space, gift opening the following morning space provided, and many complimentary services that were very much appreciated). A menu tasting event was greatly appreciated to savor some of the entrees was provided and we received many compliments on the quality and presentation of the food at the reception. The staff setting up the venue and providing the service were very friendly and professional in our dealing with them and any minor blips that occurred were professionally handled and taken care of.
The event is tailored to your needs with being as formal or informal an event as you would like. Definitely a 10/10 rating for Courtyard by Marriott-Ankeny and it is well worth a visit for parents/wedding couples to check this venue out for reasonable pricing, great customer service, complimentary benefits, staff assist with all set-up, teardown, and cleaning, and multiple options for pre and post receptions gatherings. The food was hot when it came out, the wait staff had drinks filled consistently throughout the night, and they were all very pleasant and easy to work with. My family was all very pleased with the rooms, room block pricing, and the availability of the back patio and lobby areas. Really, a fantastic venue area to work with!

it comfortably. I was very impressed with their ability to serve everyone in a short amount of time. All tables were served in 15 min or less. It helped keep everything running on time and prevented some from finishing before others were served.
Ann, who coordinates weddings for the Marriott, is amazing. She's well organized, easy to work with and very helpful. She had great suggestions and was always available to help when asked.

tations for our wedding reception. The staff at Courtyard went above and beyond to work with us to make sure our day was everything we wanted and more! Ann was very quick to respond to my e-mails and was more than willing to accommodate changes as they came up including numerous floor plan changes and bringing in Exile beer. Alyssa was fantastic the night of the event and made sure everything ran smoothly. When we came up a few chair covers short, the Courtyard team was on it - going so far as to contact our rental vendor to get a few extras! They made the room available to us as early as they could. The food was amazing and we got a number of compliments about how great the staff was throughout the night. The staff impressed us even more when they took the chair covers off for us - something we anticipating having to do ourselves early Sunday morning. The whole experience was well beyond what we possibly could have hope for thanks to this amazing team! You can be sure that any event at the Courtyard will be everything you could want!

t several months prior to the big day and allowed us to bring a total of 6 people. We of course brought our parents. They had the room set up just like it would be for the reception and staff onhand from all areas of service to answer any questions we had. They set up a meeting with us several days prior to make sure our event was as close to what we had dreamed as possible. I dropped of several framed pictures, tons of table runners and a few other decorations I had. They displayed our pictures in they entry and put out all the decor just as we had talked about. The space looked so wonderful! Just like I had visioned. From the moment we arrived till the last song was played, it was everything I had hoped and more. The service provided by the staff was excellent! The bartenders and servers were professional, kind and on top of everything. We were so busy the server even went through the line and plated food for my husband and I. They made sure we had everything we needed. Our parents and us are still recieving compliments about how wonderful the food was. We got to stay in the honeymoon suite on our wedding night, which was just the icing on the cake. The next morning our guests were treated to a wonderful complimentary breakfast. Our gifts were kept secured and our leftover cake was reserved until we checked out. When I went back a couple days later to pick up my decorations and table runners, they had all been folded and safely repackaged. I was so pleased with everything. I didn't have to lift a finger and got to enjoy the event worry free from start to finish! I would recommend the Courtyard By Marriott in Ankeny again and again!
All of the employees at the Courtyard were fantastic to work with. The food was great, the service was great and they made the room look amazing!

My name is Ann Bockenstedt. I am an Ankeny alumnus and a UNI graduate with a degree in Public Relations. Courtyard by Marriott Ankeny has employed me as the Catering Manager for the past 8 years. I enjoy working with area businesses on planning their meetings and events, along with bride and grooms to create their memorable wedding day receptions. I have both my Marriott Wedding Planner and CVENT Event Diagramming Certifications. I enjoy supporting my husband in his Military career with Iowa Army National Guard and being a board member for my daughter’s 4th grade basketball club.
