My first impression of Josh and his work was that I knew he was the one I wanted to video the biggest day of my life. I watched all of his videos on his website and I loved the style: light and airy colors, loved the song choices, etc. It was e...
xactly what we wanted. After my initial conversation with him on the phone, I found out that he was already booked on our date but he assured me that his associate videographer, Mikey, was amazing and that he wouldn’t let us down. I was told that Mikey would reach out to me shortly after my call phone conversation with Josh, but it seemed that there was a huge lack of communication between Josh and Mikey. Mikey didn’t reach out until 2 days before my wedding which had me very worried & stressed, but I don’t believe this was Mikey’s fault at all.
On our wedding day, we were very happy with Mikey. He was very personable and patient, and he ran back & forth for me a few times when something was needed. During family pictures, another videographer shows up to take Mikey’s place. I was not happy about this as I was never told that there would be another videographer coming. We tried to not let it bother us, and the 2nd videographer was super funny and we enjoyed his sense of humor. We felt that everything went well, with the exception of the change in videographers without any knowledge of it.
Mikey sent me a sneak peak of our video just a few days after our wedding which was so thoughtful of him and it meant so much as we were expecting to have to wait 8 weeks to see it. The video was in Mikey’s style, so it wasn’t exactly what we were hoping for, but it was an awesome sneak peak video. When signing the contract, Josh assured us that he would be the one editing our final video so I assumed that it would be in the style of all of his other wedding videos that I had loved.
After 10 weeks (2 weeks past promised turnaround) I had not heard anything from Josh. I finally reached out to him to ask about our video. I felt that I had been super patient, but the no communication was not cool. He sent an email back stating that he had sent the video 2 weeks ago but it must not have gone through. I was quite bothered by this.
Our initial thoughts of our video were that we loved it. We were in the moment & reliving our big day all over again. After watching it again, we realized that our video was missing so many important parts. The style of the video was dark. It was so different than the work I had seen of his. The most important part of the day, the ceremony & sand pouring, our heads were cut off the whole time. This happened in many parts of our video which was so sad. I expressed all of my concerns to Josh & he assured me that he would fix what he could to the best of his ability (12/9/22).
On 12/27, he told me he was back in the office after the holiday & would begin working on our video. We waited & waited. No communication from Josh, and no video after 2 months. I emailed him again on 2/20 to check in. No response. I emailed him again on March 7th & told him it would be my last time reaching out since I had not heard from him & that if I didn’t receive it by the end of the week I would assume that he wasn’t going to do what he said he would. No response, no video.
His communication was terrible throughout the whole process & very unprofessional. He made a promise he couldn’t keep. Unfortunately, all of the positive reviews we read about him didn’t turn out to be true for us.
