l be a group tasting with other couples, and you will be given one day to make it work (mine was a random Tuesday night). -Similar to another review below, fine tuning of details is needed. For example, my cake was put out 6 hours early and unfortunately melted. Also, the Photo Booth that we paid extra for broke multiple times throughout the night and ran out of paper. -This is not an “all-inclusive” package. You will be responsible for ironing out little details. For example, a golf cart is provided to drive to and from Cuvier Park, but only the coordinator is allowed to drive it and it will not be available to you after dinner service starts. So we ended up having to rent an additional golf cart. Be careful with your signage as well, our welcome sign was bent. These are examples of how the little things will not be covered as part of your package. This isn’t an “above and beyond” type venue. This venue would be a good fit if you live within a close drive to the venue and are looking for a very basic out of the box experience. If you are more of a Type A bride (like me!!) or want to add customized touches/experiences to your wedding, I might recommend another reception venue. You don’t want to have to stress over the little things if those details are very important to you! The ceremony space at the park truly is beautiful, but you do not have to go through Cuvier Club to experience the beauty of Cuvier Park!

ent we started planning a year ago, everyone was so helpful in planning our magical day the way we wanted it. They even gave us great ideas to make it even better! We had zoom meetings throughout the year to make decisions and plan things out. We used all of their recommendations for hair/makeup-Fuse, music-Supreme DJ entertainment (DJ Seize), flowers- Emerald & Ivy, cake- SugarBears, photo/video-True Photography, and Level up Event Design-custom digital gobo. The day of our Event, everything was so organized and everyone was ready to go. One thing that stood out to me the most was how calm and collected everyone was. When I showed up I was running late and stressing. Brianna and Amanda were so calm and reassuring that everything was going to be just fine. Seeing them calm and not stressing made me calm down and I was able to focus. They were amazing! They got me where I needed to be, and guided me the whole way through. I'm so grateful for them. I also want to give a shout out to Tyler our Banquet Captain for the night! He made sure everything went smoothly from the food, to the cake and our late night snacks! Overall, we had the best experience and got so many compliments from our guests! They also had an amazing time and thought everything was beautiful! Thanks again!

From the very first meeting, we shared our vision (neutral black-and-white), and she helped us bring it to life with attention to every little detail. On the big day, Karamia was our day-of coordinator and an absolute sweetheart. She was incredibly attentive and appreciated how we labeled and organized each decor box to help her team execute efficiently. I highly recommend all future couples do this—it made a huge difference! We held our ceremony at the Wedding Bowl, and it was a dream. My now-husband surfs regularly, so incorporating the ocean was a must—but without the hassle of sand. The Wedding Bowl was the perfect spot: oceanfront views, no sand in sight, and accessible thanks to a ramped walkway. A 10/10 ceremony location! We also really appreciated the vendor partnerships through Cuvier Club: SugarBears Sweet Provisions: We opted for a cutting cake and cupcakes—our guests couldn’t get enough of the strawberry ones! Supreme DJ Entertainment: Cesar was fantastic. He truly made the night. Level Up Event Design: Federico was amazing to work with! We added uplighting and a monogram wall to elevate the romantic, moody vibe. Emerald and Ivy: Mishele was such a joy. She helped us stay on budget without sacrificing style. Be open about your numbers—she’ll work magic within your means. Your Wedding Belles: Our officiant created a beautiful, personalized ceremony based on a thoughtful pre-event survey. It was so true to us, we skipped public vows entirely. Wedgewood Catering: We went with the buffet and upgraded to prime rib—highly recommend! It was generous, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. The only small downside: the bridal suite doesn’t have a restroom due to the historical design of the building (built in the 1920s). But otherwise, this venue was everything we hoped for and more. Highly recommend!

f my package and the D.J didn't consider my music selection. I also found the food warm and tasteless. Everyone stated that they didn't see my sign book, or favors table. I only had 9 people sign my guest book and only 3 people saw the card box to place gifts in it! Reason the card box was only left out for 30 min. So the people that stayed behind to take pictures didn't get the chance add anything to the box or sign the book! The people there are wonderful, just some fine tuning is needed!

It was a perfect day and everything went smoothly thanks to them. My wife and I are so thankful for their help in putting it all together and we're so glad we chose Cuvier Club as our wedding venue. Mandi was our wedding coordinator, Tyler helped us during the reception and made sure everyone was happy, and Anders and Amanda helped us iron out the details earlier on so our wedding day went according to plans. Definitely would recommend this beautiful venue to anyone looking in the area.

She was training new staff, one of whom, Amanda, ended up taking over for our final meetings and the wedding day itself. I was initially bummed that we wouldn’t have Anders on the big day, but Amanda honestly exceeded my expectations. She picked up right where Anders left off, handling everything with so much care and attention to detail. Amanda was so sweet, always checking in on us leading up to the wedding and executing our decorations perfectly on the day. She made sure everything went smoothly, no hiccups, no stress—just how you want it on your wedding day! The whole team of ladies at the venue is super skilled, and I truly can’t recommend them enough. They made our day perfect from start to finish

s were coming from the east coast and is less than a 30 minute drive from the airport. The reception hall is beautifully decorated for every event, so you don't need to worry about excessive rentals. The florist, baker, and DJ included in the premier package were all spectacular, and our guests raved about the bartender! Wedgewood's packages are super customizable and are a GREAT value for all you get at Cuvier. They even threw in a few free enhancements along the way, and you don't even need a final guest count until 10 days out. The planning team is amazing and is super attentive and responsive. About a month after booking, we discovered we would be expecting and the team was so accommodating, even offering to shift our date as far as 10 months out. We ended up following through with our original date, and the team made sure that I still got the full experience with N/A signature drinks and cider. We loved our day of coordinators Bri and Amanda who made sure everything went smoothly! Choosing Cuvier was easily the best decision of our wedding planning experience!

There are SO many things to do and to consider and SO MANY QUESTIONS that you have and are worried about. Rest assured that YOU ARE IN GREAT HANDS IF YOU CHOOSE CUVIER CLUB!!!! I cannot sing high enough prasies to the Anders and the team here! As a GAY couple, my love and I worry about some things that are often taken for granted. Safty, acceptance, equality... we've made progress but there is much more progress needed and it is especially important to feel "normal", if you know what I mean. Look no further if that is of value. Each Wedgewood managed venue had these elements built right in, but with Cuvier Club being located in town we wanted to ensure these were part of the surrounding community as well. Love is truly given and felt to all who come here. Also, please ask about the amazing history that this place has pre-Wedgewood! This place was just meant for uniting people!

times. My husband and I began our search in 2023 to find a wedding venue that was not only nice and beautiful, but also warm and welcoming as an lGbt couple. We toured a few of the other Wedgewood owned venues that were more local to us in Los Angeles, each with their pros and cons, but before deciding on one of those, we decided to humor ourselves and take the 3 hour trip down to La Jolla to tour the Cuvier Club, and I am SO glad that we did. The Cuvier Club is absolutely beautiful. From the plant life, to the magical interior and the absolutely breathtaking ceremony sites, we knew immediately that this was the venue for us. Our first impression of the Cuvier Club was made so incredibly special by Anders. She was so incredibly informative, and we instantly felt a connection and knew that we were in good hands with her. She showed us around the venue, the various ceremony sites, and told us so much about the local area for places to take our wedding photos, where to have rehearsal dinners, and things to do for fun. The entire team - Anders, Lauren, Mandi, and later Janae and Selina - were absolutely wonderful. They always had smiles on their faces, helping to make our wedding day the best it could be. Like any event, nobody is perfect and there were some small hiccups along the way, but nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing that made a huge problem that couldn’t have been corrected with ease. On our wedding day, because we resonated with Ander so well, we requested her to be our day-of coordinator because we had so much confidence in her, as a fellow member of the lgbt+ family, to make our day the best it could be and we could tell deep down in her heart that she truly cared about us and wanted our day to be perfect, and it was. In addition to Anders, on our wedding day, Federico was our banquet captain with Sofia as our head server, and they were on it. They made sure we were taken care of at every moment, and I couldn’t commend them any more than I already do. 10’s, 10’s, 10’s across the board! From the DJ, to the officiant, to the planning team, to the management, you were all so fantastic and perfect, and I truly could not thank you enough, especially as a same-sex couple, for making our day as amazing as it could be. It’s not often that gay couples find a match, and even less often that they get married due to bigotry and hatred still shared by so many people, but you will find NONE of that here. They didn’t even slightly treat us any differently, and again, I cannot thank Anders enough for making us feel so welcome in the establishment. I would recommend this venue so highly to anybody, but I recommend it SO SO SO SO SO SO highly to anyone who may be a same-sex couple looking to find a venue that will accept them without hesitation.

appier! Just over a year ago (July 2023), we took the 3 hour drive down from Los Angeles to tour the property with Anders and immediately put our deposit down for our wedding. As a same-sex couple, it was a bit nerve wracking to find the perfect place for us to have our wedding, especially in this political climate. Without a doubt, Anders, as well as the entire team, truly made us feel welcomed and safe. The grounds were well taken care of, the property is beautiful (inside and out), and the location is just PERFECT. It's important to mention that the Cuvier Club is so versatile too because they allow you to have a ceremony on the edge of the ocean-side, or alternatively, in their outside garden space. Anders truly knows everything about Cuvier Club, its history, and the process of running the show. Over the year of working with her, Anders has become like family to us and we couldn't be more happier to say that she is truly EXCEPTIONAL. During the planning process, they set up our essential meetings, provided us a binder with important information, and walked us through how to get started with the Cuvier Bowl permit (the outdoor ceremony site). The whole team we worked with (Anders, Lauren, Mandi, and toward the end, Janae and Selina) were absolutely wonderful. There was not a day that they didn't have a smile on their faces to help make our wedding day the best it could be. Of course, there were a few hiccups during these planning stages (occasionally unavailable via phone call, some little details fallen behind after a meeting, etc.), but nothing that overshadowed how great our wedding day was. They also always let us know that if we had any questions to just email or call over the phone - email always seemed to the better option for them as busy as they can be. I can't praise them enough for how well they adapted to us, our guests, and any special accommodation that we needed. The whole team was extremely reassuring and was always there to help, as this was our first rodeo planning something like this. Come the wedding day, we had everything organized with each vendor (which Cuvier Club helped us organize) and all necessary information sheets for the planning team. Please be aware, depending on the package you choose, you will not have to pay for some of your florals, desserts, or officiant (not everything however!). Our Banquet Captain, Federico, and the head server, Sofia, absolutely killed it. It was a dream come true. While we were out taking photos with our photographer, everyone else was ensuring that our guests were having a great time. There were only a few hiccups on the day, but again, nothing that overshadowed how truly magical it turned out. Any hiccups that were bigger, Megan Bootz, the general manager, really aided the experience by making sure everything was okay. She is a sweetheart! If you have the opportunity to work with Cuvier Club, please do not pass up. You will be so very happy and will never forget your big day and how amazing it was. Once we were about 1 month out, we were able to meet with Anders, Mandi, and Petr who quelled any concerns we had towards the end of the wedding planning process and we felt reminded that we were in the hands of professionals who do this every day. We felt very taken care of on the day of by Mandi and our event captain Morgan and we and our guests had an absolute blast! We also very much appreciated the cards and framed photo we received from Mandi and the entire team. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone that wants to take the stress out of wedding planning!

She immediately understood our vision and helped us see what it could look like IRL. She was an excellent resource for us as we began our wedding journey. It was a tough decision to move on from Cuvier because we liked Sarah so much and joked we wanted to bring her with us to the venue we chose. If you have your wedding at Cuvier Club, you will be in the best hands possible.

to see the venue we asked about dining outside like the picture being shown. Instead of telling us the price he said what a labor intensive problem it would be. Isn’t it his job to up-sell us and not make it sound negative? Give us the price and let’s move on to other details. We also offered a couple thousand dollars to temporary remove some of the hanging lights we did not like, he refused..this tour guide does not like money. We just did 3 tours prior and it was a completely different experience. He seemed like he did not want to be there, he even told us I’ll give you directions to walk over to the ceremony location… What if we never find it, are we supposed to pay 30k+ for a venue we have never seen, that we drove hours to see. Hope other people have better experiences, we will passing on this venue.

She guided us through any question or uncertainty that we had about our wedding, allowing us to build the perfect wedding we envisioned. The wedding coordinator provided to us by the company was Federico Tomas, a person who excels at being the absolute best at this job. Federico remained in constant communication with us during our planning process, offering us the best ideas and collaboration for our big day. On our wedding day, he was an amazing source of support that was never too far away, making sure we were having the best time. On top of these two incredible workers, was our event captain David and his amazing team of servers during our wedding night. All of our guests raved about the beyond friendly servers and how smooth their process of getting food and drinks to everyone was. There was not a single hiccup or delay during the event. With all this wonderful service, the food served was out of this world. Our chefs Kyle & Kody serve nothing but the best food, and ensured that even our guests with dietary restrictions were taken care of. The Cuvier Club by Wedgewood Weddings gave us the most perfect wedding. They offer nothing but the best in all corners of the planning process and leave an everlasting impression on everyone that attends their events.

Meanwhile, the indoor hall area was clean, spacious, and the perfect area to accommodate all our festivities, eating, and dancing. We went with The Abbey Catering's all-inclusive package, which made planning the wedding and hiring vendors so easy, especially since we were out-of-state during much of that time. Petr was our coordinator and an absolute pleasure to work with! Him and the all the staff orchestrated the day perfectly and we couldn't have done it without them! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We had the ceremony at The Wedding Bowl, which was breathtaking, and used the golf cart package to give guests a quick 1-minute ride to the Cuvier Club for reception. Everyone who attended kept talking about how perfect of a day/ night it was. I cannot say enough good things about the Cuvier Club and highly highly highly recommend if you want to have a wedding even better than your dreams!

The staff at the Cuvier Club during the wedding were all so kind as well and so attentive to me and my groom as well as all of our guests. The food from The Abbey Catering Company was phenomenal, we are still hearing about it today from everyone who was there. We were able to get married at the Wedding Bowl and the reception was held at the Cuvier Club, both venues were absolutely breathtaking and I could not imagine getting married anywhere else. We also utilized their all inclusive wedding package, this made my life so easy. We used their vendors for our photographer, videographer, DJ, florist, and cake. Everyone we worked with was so professional and understood what our vision was. We wanted to not have to stress out about any of the planning during this whole process and we were able to accomplish that and truly appreciate the day because of everyone involved. I would recommend anyone planning a wedding to go and visit the Cuvier Club because you will fall in love with the sights and the staff.

l" churning out 2-3 weddings a weekend, every weekend, but we decided to go with the CC "all inclusive" package because we wanted a smooth experience and didn't want to go find all of our own independent vendors. First, we think it's very fair to talk about what went well. Our coordinator, Chuck was fantastic on the wedding day itself. My bride and I were waited on and attended to and very well taken care of by Chuck and the team during the reception. We also want to note that the food, which was provided by The Abbey, got great reviews from friends and family and we enjoyed it as well. Also, we want to note that after the ceremony, most things seemed to flow just as planned during the reception and this was Chuck's good work and planning. We are very appreciative of this. When it comes to the experience as a whole, and how we felt dealing with Chuck/The CC before the day of, and the feelings that we got after the reception upon talking to our private ceremony coordinator, we were not totally pleased with our experience. When you are spending as much money on a one day event as we did for a 160 person wedding, we expected a better feeling, and our private coordinator assured us that we should not have felt the way we did. The CC did not negotiate about hardly anything involved in the process. To the very end, we felt nickeled and dimed for small things. At one point, our private coordinator had a conversation with Chuck about our feelings regarding the wedding planning so far, and I believe the term used was "That can't be possible, look at our reviews online, people love the Cuvier Club". Needless to say... that did not make us feel any better about spending $XX,XXX on our special day. Unfortunately aside from Chuck being super helpful and attentive on the day of the event, the rest of the actual wait staff and bartenders gave many of our guests (including the parents of the bride and groom) a feeling of "this is just another event, let's get it over with" . Multiple reports of rude or "I could care less" attitudes were made to our private coordinator who then relayed this unfortunate information to my bride and I at the end of the night. Not to mention, there was a bit of a fiasco at the end with the wait staff going in and clearing out the mens dressing room before the end of the night, although we were told specifically that this would not happen. This lead to one of the groomsmen thinking his stuff was stolen, when he brought this up to a member of the staff, it was handled very poorly and at one point he was told "Here's a trash bag full of stuff, you can find your own stuff" by a staff member. (nothing was stolen, but it was still poor communication and attitude from the staff that was unprofessional) At the end of the day, the CC is a beautiful venue, the food was phenomenal from The Abbey Catering, and our contracted vendors that the CC had recommended all performed flawlessly and we could not recommend Chris at SD Photo Studio for video, Deborah Shields Photography, or Mike Kleeman at Sleeping Giant Music more. The CC itself and our experience dealing with the planning, and the eventual execution of the event was what could have had a massive improvement. Very far from ideal, and we will not be recommending the Cuvier Club to our friends.

Catering all inclusive package we selected made life SO EASY. Call me lazy, but having 3-5 recommended vendors to choose from made planning SO easy! My day of coordinator, Fede was also a dream come true. He helped calm any panickey moments we had leading up to the big day. Everything was so smooth and painless when Fede got involved.

nd I like royalty. He alleviated any stress I had and made sure I had fun! We had the Abby Catering serve our dinner and it was delicious! The best wedding food I've ever tasted, we had to many compliments from our guests. I would definitely recommend the Cuvier Club as a venue, for their staff and food.

great the food was, and how awesome it was that we were able to have an open bar for the entire night! I feel like this place is a hidden gem! You don't often find it in magazines (San Diego Weddings) and I think a lot of people have the misconception that the venue is in La Jolla and may be to expensive but trust me this place will not disappoint when it comes to pleasing your guests and also the cost of your wedding will remain plenty reasonable. We brought in a lot of our own vendors besides the catering aspect but Abbey does offer it all. You need a DJ, they have it, you need a florist or make up artist, they have it. Petr was great to work with. Very understanding when I had several candle stems that still had the sticker on the bottom. Sorry Petr! Anyways, highly recommend this place if you want to have a wedding of a lifetime!

Chuck Ferrante was an outstanding coordinator throughout the planning process. And I cannot praise Petr enough! Petr was the most incredible coordinator. He had everything under control (and I do mean everything). From decor, to issues, to the flow of events, everything went just as planned. He made me and my wife feel calm the entire evening, and was just an amazing person to work with. The venue is very charming, and fit our guests (120) easily. Do yourself a favor and have your wedding here. You will not be disappointed.

We had our cocktail hour in this space, and guests mingled there as the sun set, although it is also a great option for the ceremony (we were lucky enough to have our ceremony ocean-side at the nearby Cuvier Park/Wedding Bowl, but we would have gladly had the ceremony in the courtyard had we not been able to get the necessary park permit -- though if you do get the permit, it’s a very easy walk (we also used a golf cart for transport :))). The ballroom was beautiful on its own and full of possibilities. We ended up with a little over 100 guests, which fit comfortably and allowed for ample dance floor space, but it easily could have accommodated a much larger or smaller crowd - they are great at arranging the tables to meet your size needs. The space is already decorated with lanterns and market lights (and with the option to add uplighting and other decor), so we didn’t do much else to decorate the space - centerpieces and a few votives on each table. It’s a blank enough canvas though that you could add much more if you wanted to really personalize the space. They also have a perfect bridal room and plenty of other nooks and crannys if both the bride and the groom will be getting ready there (which was the case with us - and they were experts at making sure we didn’t see each other!). I will also add a mini-review for The Abbey Catering (mini because I - and many others - have done separate reviews specifically for this dream team). Bottom line: they are 100% top-notch. This is a spectacular group of wedding professionals who absolutely know how to make your big day as perfect as you ever envisioned while taking much of the stress of the planning process of your shoulders. Highly-organized, supremely detail-organized, and as friendly as they come are only a few of the praises these guys deserve. We personally had an awesome experience with Jack, Megan, and Chuck (though I can’t imagine there is a bad egg in the bunch). We could not have imagined a more perfect day than we had with the Abbey team at the Cuvier Club.

start to finish and we are beyond thrilled with how our wedding turned out! The entire staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgable and patient. I would most highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding planner/ caterer- they will make the process as simple as possible for you, and take away so much stress! Food was just incredible, but the service even more so- for example, I almost always got an email response within a few hours, even if I sent the email late night or on a weekend!
