We found Michele via Yelp, and decided to sign up for 5 classes, using 3 for ourselves and each using 1 with our mother/father. This was the perfect mix. We had zero expectations going in, and after the first lesson, we immediately felt confident in what we would bring come the wedding. Our first dance song was a bit atypical and offbeat, but Michele had zero trouble laying out our options for steps/moves within minutes of listening, and worked with our comfort levels in mapping out something we were genuinely excited about. A true joy to work with and be around, Michele is honestly a MUST have on your wedding checklist. Do yourself a favor.

the tempo of our song, cut out parts that weren't necessary so it wasn't too long, and choreographed every detail. Michele teaches in a way that is light and easy. At no point did we, who initially felt very insecure about our capabilities, ever feel embarrassed or overwhelmed. Michele is so patient and easy going. She will have you laughing as you learn, and that’s exactly the kind of supportive and fun environment we needed for our lessons. The months leading up to the big day can be chaotic, and this was a really wonderful way for us to forget about budgets and seating charts for a while. It allowed my husband and I some good one on one time together—both while in lessons and in the evenings we spent practicing along the esplanade or on the comm ave mall. My wife can dance but I truly doubted anyone could teach me and am happy to report that Michele made us both look like pros and the compliments we got from the first dance are still pouring in. She was great at realizing we were all beginners, and gave us some tricks on what to do if we mess up, and how to start and end the song. We went back for a one hour private lesson which was great for us to get some extra time. Here we really worked on choreographing and what worked for us/our song. In the end we looked alright on the dance floor and we nailed the dip, to the surprise and awe of our guests.

We had five lessons with her in the two months leading up to our wedding and she was able to put together a truly phenomenal dance routine and make two novices really move in synch with one another. When we look back at our wedding day the highlight for both of us was the dance. Michele did such a great job preparing us that we were both completely relaxed and having so much fun. One of our favorite things to do is to look look at faces of our guests in photos during the lift - they were all so surprised and it really set the tone on the dance floor for the rest of the night. I can't recommend her highly enough and if you're an engaged couple it is a really fun thing to do together leading up to the wedding and ensures that your first dance will really be something you remember for the rest of your life.

FECT! Michele is such a great teacher. She breaks the steps down so they are easy to understand and walks you through everything. We built a custom routine with traditional steps, a fun section in the middle and a great ending with a big dip! I can still hear the "ooohs" and "ahhhs" from our wedding guests as we twirled our way through our first dance. Michele is wonderful!

I really wanted to do the Jennifer Grey lift from Dirty Dancing but Michele was realistic and worked with us to find a happy medium seeing as we are not professional dancers and I did not want to have to make a costume change of my dress mid-reception just for the dance. Michele has been choreographing wedding dances for years she can help you come up with some great ideas if you have none and incorporate many of your own if you do. My husband and enjoyed working with Michele and looked forward to our bi-weekly-ish dance lessons amidst the chaos of wedding planning. You should certainly go with Michele if you are at all considering dance lessons for your big day! Our guests are still in awe of my husbands dance moves (haha! no one believed he would do it) and still talking about our amazing surprise dance! :)

She taught us ballroom dancing from the ground up (think "this is how you count music" and how to lead/follow) and by the end we had a choreographed routine that included lifts, dips and plenty of twirls. Michele works within your timeframe and your desired number of lessons. She is also just a truly fun and talented person to be around (we loved having her dog Tango visit during our lessons). Our first dance ended up being the number 1 part of our wedding that guests commented on (we received stellar reviews :)). It is so worth it and turned out to be more than just lessons on how to dance; the team building experience that you go through with your spouse when practicing in and outside of the studio is something you can carry forward into your marriage for a lifetime.
