DJ Celli is a professional cello duo based in Rochester, NY, specializing in wedding events. Cellists David Skrill and Jennifer Carpenter will bring top-quality services and tailored sounds to your big day. While they received training as classical musicians, DJ Celli also performs in a variety of genres including jazz, pop, and rock.
After meeting during studies at Oberlin Conservatory, these two talented musicians have gone on to obtain graduate degrees from The Juilliard School and Eastman School of Music. Recently, they have appeared in concert at Bowdoin International Music Festival, Eastman School of Music, and have streamed live from Rochester. Absolutely wonderful to work with! David and Jennifer provided beautiful music for our daughter’s ceremony and wedding brunch. They were very easy to communicate with, professional, and well worth the money we spent. They played exactly what our daughter wished and added such a beautiful touch to the day. DJ Celli performed during our ceremony and cocktail hour at our wedding in October. Guests loved that they included a variety of pop and classical pieces. DJ Celli incorporated two personal touches into our ceremony, which we are still so appreciative of. They learned a piece of music that had sentimental significance, and also incorporated another musical performance into our ceremony. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking to book cello musicians for any special event.

DJ Celli totally elevated our wedding ceremony! We came across them after looking up different instrumental performers for our wedding ceremony. We wanted something different and elegant. After reaching out, they responded right away and were so accommodating and kind. That goes a long way for a bride and groom planning a wedding. We knew they would be great, but we were floored with how amazing they sounded that day. They kicked off our wedding in such a beautiful way and we are forever thankful for their talent. DJ Celli went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. They were very responsive and had excellent communication throughout. When I last minute realized I needed one more song for our ceremony, they not only accommodated me, but also offered to learn a brand new song for me so that I could have a traditional Jewish ceremony full of meaning. I would highly recommend Jennifer and David to anyone looking for a classy ceremony or cocktail hour. We received tons of compliments from our guests! Thank you again for making our day so beautiful!

I'm so glad I hired DJ Celli peform at my wedding ceremony! As a classical music fan, I knew I wanted something a little more off the beaten path than Pachelbel's Canon or Mendelssohn's Wedding March from A Midsummer Night's Dream. I told DJ Celli some of my favorite composers and eras of classical music, and they sent me an extensive list of options for my processional and recessional based on my preferences. I ended up choosing a couple of pieces from Italian Baroque composers I'd never have come across otherwise.
The music at my ceremony was everything I hoped, and I've also heard from guests how much they enjoyed the music DJ Celli performed before the ceremony, as guest were being seated. My wedding was very low-budget and DIY, but I definitely feel like it was worth the money to have live music performed by musicians of this caliber.

Their song list is extensive and full of classics and modern music. We also requested a few additional songs, and they were so accommodating. We couldn't recommend David and Jennifer enough!

DJ Celli performed at my cocktail hour from 6-7pm and did a fantastic job. They were very professional to work with and were quick to respond. They did a beautiful job at our cocktail hour doing a mix of old/current songs and all the guests commented on what a nice touch they were.

DJ Celli was amazing to work with! From start to finish, they were extremely professional and responsive. They were flexible to my requests and very clear in communication regarding their contract. Their song list is extensive and they will work with you for any other requests. Of all the wedding vendors we used, DJ Celli was the swiftest and most professional at communicating. I knew exactly what to expect on the day of our wedding and was never worried about them holding up their end of the bargain. They were on time (early actually), professionally dressed, and prepared. We received many compliments from guests on how elegant the music was! Highly recommend!

Jennifer and David are brilliant musicians, and particularly gifted at collaborating with the ceremony flow and unusual elements. At many points we had cello music interwoven with poetic readings. Their suggestions for music helped to flesh out the plans we had.

Jennifer and David of DJ Celli are absolutely wonderful! Their music provided the cornerstone of our ceremony and all of our family were delighted by the beauty and richness of their cello duo. Jennifer and David were kind enough to learn a few new pieces for us (arrangements of Wagner, Couperin, and Schumann not in their list) which were tailored to our ceremony readings. Following the indoor ceremony, they set up outdoors in a garden setting and continued to charm us all. I cannot say enough good about them. They traveled several hours each way to make it to our venue at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. We are so grateful to have had them play for our wedding! They were crucial in achieving the magic we had hoped for.

DJ Celli was an excellent choice for our wedding. They had an extensive song list with a wide variety of genres to choose from, performed beautiful and elegant renditions of some classic songs, and were also willing to learn any additional songs we wanted to hear. In addition to performing during our cocktail hour, they also performed the songs we walked down the aisle to before and after our ceremony. They played continuously throughout the time we booked them for, so there was never a lull or even a second without music. Our guests absolutely loved their renditions - we couldn’t be happier with our choice to book them.

My husband and I hired Jennifer and David for our small intimate fall wedding and it was the best decision! During the planning process they were super easy to work with and very helpful! When they played at our reception it was spectacular and our friends/families raved about how wonderful they were. We decided to have them play our first dance songs and it was so beautiful. We hired DJ Celli for our outdoor wedding this past weekend, and they were absolutely incredible! They were professional, showed up right on time, and displayed excellent musicianship. They even learned a new song by request for our first dance as a couple and it sounded amazing. They played a fantastic mix of classical and popular songs.
