When my wife and I were searching for a wedding DJ for our big day, we had a lot of different options to wade through, especially living in New York City where there were plenty of DJ's advertising their skills. Trying to find a perfect fit for our imagined wedding day definitely wasn't easy but we knew we found a diamond when we first talked with David. We had a specific type of wedding dance floor vibes that we were looking for, but beyond a couple buzz words didn't know how to describe it. It's been 6 months since our wedding and we're still in awe of how much fun we had! I reached out to DJ Medina after a friend recommended his services, and although he was booked that day, he coordinated with DJ Marlon and we were able to work together after all. Thank god! DJ Marlon kept our guests dancing all night long and brought so much joy and spontaneity to the party. Michael and I had a wonderful experience working with David for our wedding ceremony and reception in August, 2024. We had an initial call with David about a year ahead of our wedding and were looking for someone with a chill, organized and fun vibe - he was all of that! We had a fairly eclectic playlist and he did a wonderful job working off the crowd to ensure everyone had an amazing time. I would highly recommend working with David for your wedding or event!

David knows music through and through, was versatile, and able to quickly switch from vastly different genres seamlessly through the night. We instantly knew we loved DJ Medina from our first introductory call. He not only is SUCH a professional at what he does but he has a great way of connecting with humans and making them feel comfortable and at ease, we knew we found the perfect person to be a part of our wedding. During our first meeting with David, we immediately felt at ease and understood! We knew that we would be in good hands for our wedding, and that he would cultivate a wonderful vibe and keep our wedding running smoothly. David’s energy is pure, his taste in music is impeccable, and he can read a crowd with precision, crafting the moment better than any DJ I have ever experienced. He is trustworthy, responsive, deeply kind, and is a consummate professional. We are so fortunate to have him at the helm of our wedding, and would be so happy to hire him for our next event!

David was our DJ for our wedding at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn. We immediately clicked with David from our very first call. We loved his energy and his kindness, and it was clear he was very experienced. David has a super calm demeanor and he's so easy to talk to; although we'd spoken to multiple DJs, we actually knew right away that we wanted to work with David after our first call with him. It also helped that he had worked at our venue many times before, so he knew the drill. He was always very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly and clearly. He was very thoughtful and enthusiastic in learning about us as a couple, and he did a great job of not only playing our music, but also serving as an emcee. We had a lot of emcee instructions (including a marriage license signing, wedding games, and intros for eight speeches!) and he followed them all to a tee. He got all of the pronunciations right for our speakers, and he remained engaged throughout the entire night. We also had an electric violinist and he helped hook him up to the system; we didn't have any issues all night. He played many of the songs that we'd included in our list for him — including '80s songs that some of the older guests enjoyed, and songs like "Wagon Wheel" that appealed to our Southern families. The only thing we'd recommend to couples is be very specific about any types of songs you don't want to be played (not just specific songs or artists, but vibes or topics). We'd mentioned during our first call that we didn't want any raunchy songs since it'd be awkward for our families, but we failed to mention that during our final call with David (our fault), so we ended up having to dance to "Sexyback" and "It's Getting Hot in Here" in front of our parents lol. It wasn't a big deal, but just something to keep in mind! Overall, we highly recommend David and think he is an excellent DJ and emcee.

David was absolutely excellent We are a bicultural couple with very strong music preferences and David nailed the vibe perfectly pleasing both sides, he kept the party going with hit after hit and everyone loved the music! It took only a few minutes on the first call to decide he was the one we wanted for our event and since then working with him was super easy and reassuring. Can’t recommend him enough.

DJ Medina = Nothing less than fantastic. My wife and I came across DJ Medina via “The Knot” and we are incredibly grateful that we did. For those reading this – I’m sure you will feel the same that trying to find the right DJ is tough because it’s essentially gambling that the DJ will know how to mix and has the experience. If I can do anything for you – please place your trust in this man. He is incredibly easy and flexible in his work. We met DJ Medina on zoom for the initial review and it’s hard to explain; but my wife and I were comfortable and put to ease. We come from different backgrounds and wanted to incorporate the differences our music culture and overall preferences; which he fully understood. One of the things that was helpful for us is that he provided a template. The template for any of you Type A individuals was a guiding tool for us to put any and all of our song preferences for the wedding (The must plays vs the absolutely do not play). It also helped us identify areas where music needed to be played that we quite honestly forgot about (ie. The song to play right when the ceremony ends). On the day of the wedding – DJ Medina was super punctual and ready with all of his equipment. NOW – this is a major plus to any readers. He has his own equipment; so you ultimately save on rentals. Just make sure you have an outlet and a food plate. It’s not required, but it’s very proper to feed your event team. Another major highlight – DJ Medina helped us with putting our wedding song together. My wife is European and I’m Spanish; so our first dance song was intricate. DJ Medina was able to piece it together to make sense; which ultimately helped our dancing instructor choreograph the steps even easier since we knew the timing. PRO TIP – provide this idea early on as we did this late in the game, but DJ Medina was again flexible and expedient with getting us our piece. Last pro tip – give DJ Medina creative rights. What do you mean? Earlier above – I mentioned the template for music preferences. One of the scary things (for me at least) is asking myself – will my guest like the music I picked? I like Daft punk and rock music, but I wouldn’t want my guests dancing to Slayer. What you want to focus on is enjoying your day with your partner; while you leave the music to the DJ. DJ Medina did an incredible job with reading the room and keeping the flowing of the dancing going. I can go on and on, but I strongly suggest choosing this man as your DJ. I hope this post put your nerves at ease. OH – one of the most important things – he is also very affordable!!

David was our DJ for our two-day, half Indian / half French wedding in Brooklyn. He was phenomenal to work with and provided us with amazing music for both nights. Many of our guests commented unprompted that it was the best dance floor music they had been to at a wedding, and everyone had a blast. We started off with a Zoom call to discuss our tastes in music, and because we were having a multicultural wedding (Indian one night, French the second night), he helped us figure out how we could blend both cultures in our playlists. The result was a wonderful mix of our favorite songs, Indian music and French music with a perfect dance floor sequence that left people dancing until the venue kicked us out. We wouldn't hesitate to work with David again and will recommend him to our friends! Thank you David!

My wife and I had David DJ at our recent wedding in Brooklyn. David is not only a very talented DJ, but also a tremendous pleasure to work with. He gave us great tips for throwing a fun event that our guests would enjoy. He prioritized representing my and my wife's music tastes with some twist to heat up the dance floor when needed, and delivered a set during our reception that we loved. Additionally, he was great with emceeing our wedding, delivering announcements engagingly but without unnecessary gusto. To all future married couples, we highly recommend having David DJ at your upcoming wedding, regardless of your specific music tastes.

DJ Medina and DJ Marlon were easy to work with and were recommended to us by our photog/videographers (for fearless hearts). Started with a phone call to get to know us and our taste in music. Unfortunately DJ Medina was not available but he did recommend DJ Marlon to us and had a 3-way zoom call. They were not pushy or trying to upsell us props like other vendors we had spoken with. We felt like they understood both of our tastes in music (we have different tastes btw). 40% deposit was required to book and the remaining was due the day of. They gave us a worksheet to fill out to gauge what we wanted (and didn't want) for the dance floor but also to help us organize what we wanted for the ceremony as well as reception intros (which didn't even cross my mind except for my music to walk down the aisle). Two weeks prior to the wedding, they did a follow up zoom call to make sure everything was set. DJ Marlon also made sure he got all the pronunciations correctly for the reception intros. When the day came, he had people on the dance floor before I (the bride) even finished eating my meal! The dance floor didn't clear up until the end of the wedding and it was what we had envisioned. Everyone had a great time and DJ Marlon was amazing!

Without any kind of planner, my wife and I were worried about so many other details of the night and music was never one of them. David took the time to talk with us, figure out the shape of the event, and pinpoint our taste all before ever setting foot in the space. And for every bit of indecision that we had, he brought his experience to make those choices feel effortless in retrospect. When the day came, he ran a quick rehearsal with us before the ceremony proper, rolled with any last minute changes, deftly carried the night, and snuck in every request the two of us had while also pleasing an eclectic crowd and keeping them all on their feet. All age groups were accounted for and every seat was empty! Abandon any idea you had about making your own playlist. Put it out of your mind now. Your playlist cannot do what DJ David Medina does. Whatever you thought was possible, David can do that and more!

We worked with DJ Medina for our August 2023 wedding ceremony in Brooklyn. It was beyond fantastic! From initial meeting to night of, David was personable, accessible, really focused on understanding our needs and wants, and delightful. We had a significant mix of musical needs/styles that we wanted at our event due to our Trinidad, Jamaica, Southern US, West Coast, and NY attendees. Plus, as the bride, I am a HUGE fan of dancing for hours, as are most of my undergrad and grad crews, so downtime on the dance floor was not an option. DJ Medina helped achieve that goal. He also did a great job in helping us keep the evening flowing with the schedule laid out, without coming across as pushy or invasive. Very good balancing skills. My husband and I had a blast, our guests had so much fun, and I was beyond thrilled with the night. I would definitely recommend David Medina. We thank him for being a key part of our night's success.

David was an incredible DJ, and amazing to work with. We met by zoom initially, and David asked us all about us as a couple, our music tastes, and our guests music tastes. He told us about his expertise and experience, and we just knew right away he would be the perfect DJ for our wedding. And we were not wrong! David gives his clients a very thorough worksheet before the event, so he can gather as much information as possible. He asks for your favourite songs, your must plays, and of course the do not play list. He checks in with how to pronounce everyone’s names in the wedding party, which was very thoughtful. The actual day was a complete hit - as soon as the dance floor was open, you could not keep people away from it! Dancing the night away was truly the most fun we have had, and DJ David was definitely keeping the vibe absolutely on point! Would definitely recommend DJ David to anyone who is looking for a DJ!

DJ David Medina was the perfect DJ for our wedding. He is extremely easy to work with and has years of experience. His pre-wedding handout was such a great tool to organize our day and communicate the type of music/vibe we were looking for. We truly did not stop dancing for a second (which is exactly what we were looking for!). David by no means is a "traditional wedding DJ" meaning he doesn't stick to a one-size-fits all wedding playlist and customizes the music to reflect what you're looking for. Everything was absolutely seamless. We can't recommend David enough!

For context, we are ethnically filipino and chinese and he knew a lot of filipino and chinese hits that would be great for our guests and family. Additionally, he had great ideas and creative ways to engage the crowd and make sure that the guests were equally happy as well. His attention to detail was unparalleled, he left no stone unturned and this manifested through a seamless progression of events throughout the night, precise and clear pronunciation of many very difficult names, timely and tasteful bits to get the crowd going, and friendly and approachable demeanor. We had an amazing time and that was in huge part due to David Medina's spectacular work. We highly, highly recommend David and would work with him again in a heartbeat!!!

DJ Medina is very professional, knowledgeable of different cultures and provides guidance to couples like ourselves that were planning our own wedding. From the beginning, DJ Medina was thorough yet easy going in terms of his interactions with us, making sure we had everything covered (speeches, dances, songs, announcements). He made us feel extremely at ease - we were in the right hands. While we picked the majority of the songs, he made sure to sequence them and add some songs here and there based on our needs wherever we had gaps. His experience working with multiple cultures (e.g., Latino, Indian, and European, as select examples) meant that he knew all of the "hits" that would make people dance, and all of the "classics" of all the cultures at our wedding, that made all generations attending feel included. We asked DJ Medina to cover the cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party (our ceremony was at a Church). We had a blast at the wedding reception and received so many compliments throughout the night because of the atmosphere he helped create. We would recommend DJ Medina 1000 out of 1000 times to any couple who's looking for someone with the experience to know how to take care of you as well as the flexibility to work with your specific needs. DJ David Medina was an incredible MC and DJ for our wedding. Music is very important to us and we could not have asked for a better vibe at our wedding. Our wedding planner had forwarded us a short list of DJ's that would match our taste in music for the event. After listening to a couple of David's sets through his website, we knew he would be the right fit. David seamlessly mixed in what we like to listen to jamming out at home, with a spot on mix of genres we wanted to enjoy with our family and friends. The perfect mix of Indian and Western, our vibe as a couple. We would work with David again in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic experience with DJ David Medina at our wedding in Brooklyn! David was very professional and did a great job with the music. He did a perfect job coordinating with our violinist during the ceremony, and our guests had a lot of fun on the dance floor at the reception!

When we secured our venue The Box House Hotel, David Medina was consistently recommended as a DJ for our event. We set up an introductory phone call and found out that he has a lot of experience there, knows the staff, is familiar with the layout, and is experienced with the equipment and weddings in general. The biggest things that stood out to us during our call was his professionalism and wide range of familiarity with different music genres and artists. He was also super nice, patient, and understanding of our musical preferences and the vibe we wanted to create for our event. After the call, we felt confident that he was the one for us. We went on to fill out a document of songs/artists to play and not play, and then had another call near the event date to discuss our plan for our ceremony, entrance, and first dance. On the event date, David not only executed these details to perfection, he also played an absolutely amazing set of music for our cocktail hour and dance party that really had so many people dancing on the floor, even the elders. It was a pleasant surprise how lively that made our wedding and people had so much fun, it was truly like we hosted our own private club. We loved his music so much that after the event, we requested for his playlist that night and he shared it! Now we can relive the memories. David is the absolute perfect DJ, and I wish we can host another wedding just to have him play for us. We love David and can't recommend him enough!

David was awesome! We found him through our venue’s preferred vendor and he knew how to coordinate with the venue because he’s familiar with the setup! David is thorough and if we have trouble finding a song for a specific part of the wedding, he gave us lists of popular choices to pick from! Would highly recommended David to anyone getting marry!

Working with David was seamless from the beginning. He was very responsive and took the time to speak to myself and my husband as many times as necessary. He coordinated with the venue so that I didn’t have to be the middle man. David followed our plans closely and did not miss any details! We gave DJ Medina a tough job and he delivered with flying colors! We had strong opinions about the music and he had a mixed audience (different ages, backgrounds, and nationalities) to entertain. Nonetheless, he did an amazing job keeping the party alive at all times (even my grandma was up and dancing for a good while). David listened to our requests and incorporated our preferences in a thoughtful way, while reading the room well. He coordinated well with our other vendors to make sure that our away guests joining via livestream were able to participate in the ceremony. Overall, David was a joy to work with and we would highly recommend him!

Hands down my favorite wedding DJ ever!!! David was also my favorite vendor to work with during wedding planning/coordination. He is incredibly professional, responsive, has a wonderful personality, inclusive and open to all music types, communicates clearly and will follow up if there are any issues or reminders coming up. Music is what was going to tie our biracial/bicultural wedding together. It was so important for my Moroccan family to feel affirmed and acknowledged through music AND they did! David, even handled my very bossy aunt and her friends with so much grace and patience. He played my chosen must play songs which is just a mood booster. Experienced DJ not your cookie cutter DJ Loved David! He came highly recommended by several folks who knew him during his days of DJing at salsa spots. What I loved about David is he wasn't your cookie cutter wedding DJ. He plays a range of songs from Salsa, Samba, Afro, Pop, Funk, etc. And his run of show the week before is on point. He knows what he is doing so much so my MC said, just give it to David, he is the real deal. Thank you DJ Medina for making my wedding dance floor packed every song and making our wedding one to remember.

The way David seamlessly included everyone's music taste and culture was mind blowing. All of our guests have been talking nonstop about the music, vibes, and dancing. We will never forget the spectacular experience, it felt like a movie.

We had a hard time finding a DJ that would play our music taste and David was totally down to play our weird requests! Every meeting we had was fun and exciting and left us so happy we picked him. With wedding planning, things can be so stressful but we never had any doubts/ stress after we found David which was the biggest relief! Can’t thank him enough for the great time we had.

David was absolutely outstanding as the DJ for our wedding. Our wedding planner had recommended David right off the bat given she had worked with David many times before, and we are exceedingly happy with the selection. The whole process was easy - David met with us a few months before to get to know us and get a sense of who we are, then in the month prior to the wedding met with us again to really hammer home our preferences. In addition to the usual popular songs, he was able to basically accommodate anything we asked - including abridged versions of songs, uncommon songs/tunes for different parts of the wedding. He is flexible as well - for some parts of the wedding we selected very specific songs, for other parts we selected a type/genre/time period and he basically filled in the gaps perfectly. During the wedding, everything went off wonderfully, from the elegant greeting period/cocktail hour, to our first dances, to the eventual rocking dance floor. David was energetic, seamless in his transitions, and made for an amazing party overall. One of our friends literally said that it was "the best dance floor she had ever been on". It was an amazing wedding from beginning to end, thanks in large part to David Medina. If you're looking for someone detailed, organized, energetic, who will produce an amazing result, yet incredibly easy to work with, we highly recommend David!

David was very professional in his communication throughout the entire planning process, made sure to answer all of our questions, and was great during our wedding itself. My husband and I met at a 3-day wedding celebration dancing through the streets of New Orleans. He’s from Bensonhurst (the streets where Travolta struts in Saturday Night Fever), my Cuban-Italian family hails from Miami. Needless to say, the music at our Brooklyn waterfront wedding had to be dance centric from start to finish. But no hokey New Jersey Sweet 16 playlists featuring Journey piano send-off’s or “Tonight’s gonna be a good night…” And no music too hardcore or niche to give any of our multi-generational guests a reason to take a boogey break unless they HAD to. Ya know, we all gotta eat. We interviewed many DJ’s. Elite Miami club staples, highly-recommended NYC celebration experts. All lovely. But none of them, not one, compared to DJ Dave Medina. We’re thrilled to tell you why: From the jump, DJ Dave was warm and welcoming. In our initial phone interview and every time we spoke leading up to our big day, you could tell he was invested in our guests having the musical experience we envisioned: a dance party to remember. He listened to us unpack our musical tastes, approximated all the genres we were open to, parsed out our do-not-plays (bye, Journey), and offered us the most reasonable quote we’d come across. Dave’s a family man, a Brooklynite himself; it was clear he wasn’t trying to gouge us. He’s also Dominican-American and ran a Cuban salsa show years back (bring it back, Dave!), so he understood the cultural importance of weaving in different kinds of Latin music to pay homage to our respective heritages. He didn’t bat an eye when we asked about additional live percussion to amp up the island feel, and offered his incredible percussionist Nestor at, again, a SUPER reasonable price. We didn’t want a ton of needless introductions or MC-ing to the nines; Dave totally understood why. Anything to strip down an all-too cookie cutter event to its purest joy—getting everyone, young and old, shakin their tail feathers. We also had a crazy idea to dance from our waterfront park wedding to the hotel reception celebration, much like a New Orleans second line. Dave made our dreams come true, and Nestor drummed us and our guests from our I Do’s straight into a beautiful, bumpin cocktail hour that everyone is STILL talking about. They say your wedding day will be a blur. Truly, it was. But the most memorable part of that blur, the part we hold on to to this day and that others continue to echo is what a gorgeous ride our musical experience was. One hot feel-good jam after another, over and over, all reception long. Thanks to Dave, our parents’ LONG musical father-daughter and mother/son dance selections were finessed to a socially-acceptable clip. Every announcement was energetic, warm and real. Every shift in genre and mood was expertly handled. We couldn’t ask for a more perfect night of get-down. Oh and Nestor? Played alongside Dave till they finally popped the lights on. It was a dream start to finish. Hire him, hire him, HIRE HIM. You’re signing on for pure magic, and true soul.

From our very first conversation with David, we knew he was the right fit for our wedding. His calm and collected nature paired with his upbeat attitude and genuine love for music made him our perfect person to work with. As music lovers ourselves, we had a lot of strong opinions and ideas about how we envisioned our wedding playing out. From live performances to speeches, announcements, the ceremony, and our exhaustive list of what we wanted to have played on the dance floor, David was able to masterfully navigate the big event without a hitch. David made himself readily available and remained fully attentive, keeping a watchful eye on everything as the night unfolded. He was very dialed into what was going on and even made some quick on-the-fly adjustments to keep things running smoothly. One thing we were very admant about was not having was a lot of MCing/hype-up-the-crowd DJ sort of stuff. David heard our every word and acted with the utmost grace, tact, and professionalism. His announcements throughout the evening were clear, concise, and timed to perfection. Of course, this wouldn't be a complete review without mentioning the most important piece -- the DJing. David absolutely crushed it! He was somehow able to incorporate our niche, alt-indie favorites into an eclectic mix of high energy dance music that got everyone from ages 2-70 up and dancing. We couldn't be happier with how it all turned out and we owe a large part of that to David and his undeniable professionalism, expertise, flexibility, and guidance. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

DJ David Medina is hands down the best dj for your wedding, not to mention his positive attitude and professionalism. We started working with David in 2020 and then the pandemic hit. He was so patient with us and was willing to continue working with us as we decided to wait until 2022 to have our wedding. Throughout this entire time, David was always responsive. When we finally had a date, he made it so easy and fun to create our wedding playlist.
