We had multiple meetings throughout the planning process and we were always so happy at how patient, kind, and excited DJ Medina seemed about the occasion. Our wedding was a Guyanese/Brazilian/American wedding, so needless to say we thought this would be a tall task as there are many types of music needed, but DJ Medina effortlessly mixed in all types of music on the wedding day to keep everyone on the dance floor for the entire night! We had multiple people mention that this was the most fun wedding that they had been to, and a huge part of that was because of the music. He also was incredibly accommodating by arriving early to play music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, while also staying late to DJ for our after party which we greatly appreciated! We were incredibly happy with our decision to work with DJ Medina for our wedding and he was absolutely the best choice for the occasion. David has a super calm demeanor and he's so easy to talk to; although we'd spoken to multiple DJs, we actually knew right away that we wanted to work with David after our first call with him. It also helped that he had worked at our venue many times before, so he knew the drill. He was always very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly and clearly. He was very thoughtful and enthusiastic in learning about us as a couple, and he did a great job of not only playing our music, but also serving as an emcee. We had a lot of emcee instructions (including a marriage license signing, wedding games, and intros for eight speeches!) and he followed them all to a tee. He got all of the pronunciations right for our speakers, and he remained engaged throughout the entire night. We also had an electric violinist and he helped hook him up to the system; we didn't have any issues all night. He played many of the songs that we'd included in our list for him — including '80s songs that some of the older guests enjoyed, and songs like "Wagon Wheel" that appealed to our Southern families. The only thing we'd recommend to couples is be very specific about any types of songs you don't want to be played (not just specific songs or artists, but vibes or topics). We'd mentioned during our first call that we didn't want any raunchy songs since it'd be awkward for our families, but we failed to mention that during our final call with David (our fault), so we ended up having to dance to "Sexyback" and "It's Getting Hot in Here" in front of our parents lol. It wasn't a big deal, but just something to keep in mind! Overall, we highly recommend David and think he is an excellent DJ and emcee.

feel the same that trying to find the right DJ is tough because it’s essentially gambling that the DJ will know how to mix and has the experience. If I can do anything for you – please place your trust in this man. He is incredibly easy and flexible in his work. We met DJ Medina on zoom for the initial review and it’s hard to explain; but my wife and I were comfortable and put to ease. We come from different backgrounds and wanted to incorporate the differences our music culture and overall preferences; which he fully understood. One of the things that was helpful for us is that he provided a template. The template for any of you Type A individuals was a guiding tool for us to put any and all of our song preferences for the wedding (The must plays vs the absolutely do not play). It also helped us identify areas where music needed to be played that we quite honestly forgot about (ie. The song to play right when the ceremony ends). On the day of the wedding – DJ Medina was super punctual and ready with all of his equipment. NOW – this is a major plus to any readers. He has his own equipment; so you ultimately save on rentals. Just make sure you have an outlet and a food plate. It’s not required, but it’s very proper to feed your event team. Another major highlight – DJ Medina helped us with putting our wedding song together. My wife is European and I’m Spanish; so our first dance song was intricate. DJ Medina was able to piece it together to make sense; which ultimately helped our dancing instructor choreograph the steps even easier since we knew the timing. PRO TIP – provide this idea early on as we did this late in the game, but DJ Medina was again flexible and expedient with getting us our piece. Last pro tip – give DJ Medina creative rights. What do you mean? Earlier above – I mentioned the template for music preferences. One of the scary things (for me at least) is asking myself – will my guest like the music I picked? I like Daft punk and rock music, but I wouldn’t want my guests dancing to Slayer. What you want to focus on is enjoying your day with your partner; while you leave the music to the DJ. DJ Medina did an incredible job with reading the room and keeping the flowing of the dancing going. I can go on and on, but I strongly suggest choosing this man as your DJ. I hope this post put your nerves at ease. OH – one of the most important things – he is also very affordable!!
