Elegant Catering

My husband and I got married on 9/9/17 at Riverside Landings. Elegant Catering was absolutely wonderful. I received so many compliments on how delicious the food was. Most wedding food is very bland, but not ours. Ours had so much flavor! (We had chicken Romano and prime rib). The chef even came out after dinner to ensure my husband and I were happy. Also, Joy was our event coordinator, and was the BEST. She is the sweetest most positive person, and was always there when I needed her. She did such a great job, and my day would not have been as perfect without Riverside and Elegant Catering.

We were married 8/12/2017 at Riversides Landing and Elegant Catering handles their event management. The food was beyond delicious and there were substantial portions. The guests still complement how delicious the food was when we speak to them. Joy assisted and guided us thru the whole process and alleviated any hesitations we had. Joy, thank you for being a part of our beautiful day and thank you for being a big part of that!

We originally had Yes, We Cater as our caterer for our Oak Lodge wedding and reception, because I first called Elegant Catering and was told "you can't afford us". That was unfortunate because we then went with a caterer who filed for bankruptcy and took our downpayment, so we then had to resort to Elegant, who we could indeed afford once they finally sent us menu options. In fact, we weren't even at the low end of their menu budgets, so I don't know why I got such sass on my first phone interaction. They were great though in taking over our well underway wedding plans, and I was super obsessed about having a hot cocoa bar during cocktail hour, which the other caterer had promised. They said they could do it, and that they could do the "his" cocktail of an apple cider cocktail. Now, this was a premixed apple cider, plus rum, plus whiskey, plus agave nectar and lemon juice kind of cocktail they assured us they could premix and serve. This did not happen, even after we gave them the recipe at our tasting and twice through emails, in the end our guests were asked when they got an apple cider if they wanted rum OR whiskey added. So I was treated rudely initially, received a phone call two weeks out from my wedding where they asked things we had already nailed down at the tasting-leaving me unsure as to whether or not things would be done right, and though they had the cocoa bar, they messed up the "his" cocktail. If it weren't for those fairly major things, I would've given them more stars, because I cannot emphasize enough how AMAZING their food is! We had a barbecue, homey, fill you up right kind of menu for both our rehearsal and for our reception and we LOVED the food! The mac and cheese, we had both nights, went over SO WELL with the kids, and all the barbecue meats were so full of flavor. I had several people tell me that was the best wedding food ever, and I agree. I just wish their costumer service had been better, that would've saved me from booking with another company to begin with.

This catering company had very good wedding food. I have been to enough weddings where I do not like the buffet style meals because it tends to be cold or not flavored enough. This company did such a great job. They even allowed us to taste our food options before ordering them. I would choose them again!

The buffet for our wedding was exceptional! The entire process of planning our reception was easy and enjoyable. They made us feel comfortable and worry free. All of our guests raved about the food. Their waitstaff and bartenders we extremely pleasant and entertaining.

They catered our rehearsal dinner and our reception as well. I had such high hopes for them. They were great in the planning process, catering to our every need; however, it was sometimes very difficult to reach them via phone or email. We worked with Jeff and Nancy in the planning process, but never saw either one at our events. There were a lot of mistakes made. Lots of things forgotten....inexperienced servers and bar tenders. We also rented our tent, tables, chairs, linens, etc. from them. Our tent was terribly dirty. They promised that they would set everything up for me on Saturday morning. My sister went to make sure everything was taken care of, and she ended up spending the whole morning helping THEM set up and therefore missed my wedding ceremony. They asked us about every detail of how we wanted things, but when we got there, nothing was done as we had instructed. When we showed up, the staff was still running around like crazy to finish setting up. Some of the staff were rather rude to my family after some liquor had been misplaced. Overall, the food was great (although the meat was overcooked), and the staff who paid particular attention to us were fantastic. Nothing that they did completely ruined our day (other than my sister missing the wedding), but it was still pretty disappointing.
