I had such a wonderful experience working with Jessica of Epic Event Planning! It turned out to be one of the best decisions we made in regards to the wedding.
I had originally planned on just coordinating all my wedding planning myself. Howev...er, as the number of vendors was growing and I was spending a growing amount of time fielding emails, I felt like I was falling behind on keeping up with them all. At about 2 months from the wedding date, my (then) fiance and I decided we needed a hand.
When we started looking into it, we saw Epic Event Planning was consistently rated at 5-stars and was beloved by all. Compared with other event planners, their prices were also more reasonable and had more flexibility. When we contacted Jessica, even just speaking with her on the phone during that first meeting started to lift some of the stress. She was friendly, professional, and reassuring. When I told her about the obstacles I was facing, she clearly had tons of experience with those exact situations and was able to offer suggestions. After hanging up the phone with her, we had no second thoughts about hiring her immediately.
The "weekend of" package that Epic Event Planning offers is perfect for the couple that wants to do a lot of the planning themselves, but wants someone to take the reins toward the end. Starting about 2 months from the date, they start collecting all the information from you about your vendors, your venue, you vision for how the schedule will go. This was initially a fair amount of work, but was actually helpful in itself to consolidate all the information in one place. Once I had done this, Jessica reached out to all the vendors and established herself as a contact for them. She also helped put the vendors in contact with each other and facilitated conversations between them, with me cc'd in. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, I felt less and less stressed as Jessica handled almost all the behind the scenes coordination. She was great about offering suggestions and solutions when asked, but never forcing her opinion or making me feel like I was not in charge. She double and tripled checked all the tiny details. For example, I had forgotten that I never quiiiiite got back to the organist at the church about what song I would walk down the aisle to until Jessica reminded me. #winning
On the day of, she showed up first and left last. She kept us on track when it was time for the band to start but the photographer still wanted to take a few formal pictures at sunset. When we ran out of ice about 3 hours in, she ran out to the store and bought more. She made sure all the gifts and decorations made their way into our cars at the end of the night, and when we forgot the photobooth picture book anyway, she grabbed it and is mailing it to us. All of these things were handled smoothly and did not require me at all, letting me just enjoy the day! Several of the other vendors were so impressed by her that they asked for her information so they could recommend her to others of their clients.
Overall, Jessica was a top-notch coordinator and she really made the whole event run smoothly! 10/10 would hire her again and would recommend her to anyone that needs a little help keeping things together in the craziness of wedding planning!
