Anna was absolutely fabulous!!! She pulled the most beautiful dress that i ended up getting and every visit after I was excited to put it back on. So glad it was my first and only stop dress shopping.
I found my beautiful wedding dress here! Ana was such a tremendous help in finding my dress and communicating any changes I wanted. Their seamstress also did a great job. If you are on the hunt for the perfect dress, I highly recommend Ferndales.
I looked at dresses at several different shops and finally decided on this one! They are very sweet and personable and made the experience feel natural. The shop is not as fancy and modern as some others, but it gives that family owned feel. I was able to come in on the weekends for my fittings, the delivery of my dress was on time, and the alternations I needed were perfect. I had Connie customize my cathedral veil by adding pearls throughout and it turned out amazing!
I was supposed to have an appointment with Ferndales in March and unfortunately due to COVID-19 and stay at home orders that appointment was cancelled and needed to be rescheduled. I was getting antsy, knowing my wedding is early next year in 2021 and needed to order my dress in time, so as soon as the restrictions were beginning to be lifted I contacted them to see if they were accepting appointments again, and they were! If you are nervous about COVID-19 like I was, rest assured that Ferndales has taken all precautions. Throughout the waiting the family was very responsive via email, and once I made my appointment they sent detailed instructions of what to do. They did require that I wear a mask during the appointment, and I was allowed 1 person to come with me to help, and they set up a Pinterest board so you can view the different dresses they had in stock to send to them for the consultant to pull and have ready for you in the dressing room before you got there. When we arrived for the appointment, we were greeted at the door and allowed in, we were told we could look at the dresses, but not touch them in the rack in case we found something else we wanted to view. They had wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and tissues on the counter that you could take if you wanted. We were the only ones in the salon along with the consultant, so you could easily stay 6 feet apart. When I was ready to try on, traditionally the consultant helps you in and out of dresses, but they took the dress off the hangar for you, and allowed you to get into it yourself, the only part they helped with (if you needed it) was to zip up or button up the back, which luckily for me the zipper was low and I was able to do it myself. the universe spoke, and they just so happened to have my DREAM dress that I thought I couldn't get from a Morilee 2018 collection, in my size, in their warehouse as a sample. I was one and done, which was good for them because that meant they didn't have to sanitize or "quarantine" any of the other dresses I was going to try on, and would be available for the next bride. They allowed 2 hours between appointments so they could thoroughly sanitize and wipe down everything we were near/touched. It was nice to feel safe during a time of uncertainty, and to know they took every precaution to keep you healthy but also give you a great, personalized and attentive appointment. It also made me feel great that I was able to support a family run business during these tough times, and have them assure me that they could additionally personalize my dress to be the dream I wanted it to be. As someone who hasn't left their house for 2.5 months due to the fears of COVID-19, it was a scary thought to go to a public place but knowing I needed my dress, it was exactly the comfortable environment I needed to find "the one". If you are still uncertain, they do offer video virtual appointments and put dresses on mannequins for you to see, and do home appointments so you can try them on in the comfort of your home with a consultant waiting outside on FaceTime to take the dresses back to their store and help with any questions you can. 15/10 would recommend, COVID-19 or not. Can't wait to go back in December for my fitting/customization alterations!
Finding this salon was a miracle in and of itself. I was a bride with a very strict budget but also a very set vision. And it didn't help matters that I was a plus sized bride. I had fallen in love with the designer Maggie Sottero due to her amazing vintage inspired pieces but I knew she was wildly out of my price rage. I knew buying off rack or online was an option but it made me nervous to buy a dress I had never tried on. This is where Ferndales came into play.
They work with a website called The Gown Loft which has lots of designer dresses that are off rack or used to be samples. You just tell the salon which ones you want to try on and they get them in store. It helps the process feel more like a traditional salon appointment but helps save you a ton of money.
I was lucky to find the dress of my dreams that fit like a glove. We did run into some issues because of my larger chest size but they worked with me over the two months leading up to my wedding to find a solution and everything went well in the end. They were always very quick with alterations and while I may have been able to save money going private or shopping around I trusted them with the dress and knew they would provide quality work in a timely manner.
I have no regrets going through this salon for my wedding dress and would recommend them to anyone who is a ess than traditional bride.
This review is super late! But I went shopping for my wedding dress last June for my wedding this year March 31. Ana helped me find my dream dress. She was really nice and made me feel very comfortable trying on dresses. I let her know what I was looking for when I got there and the first dress I tried on was the one! After purchasing the dress it was ready a few months early! I was thrilled. Thank you so much Ferndales and Ana!
Connie & Team are complete pros and made finding the perfect dress a dream. They have a great selection, work with your budget and have in-house alterations.
I never worried once about my gown. Highly recommend!
I had the absolute best experience during my bridal appointment at Ferndales. Ana was my consultant and I couldn't be happier with her service, knowledge and help! Her years of experience really shined. I selected a dress and a veil. I was thrilled to hear about their seamstress capabilities as I found many stores are limited as far as the customization process to dresses. I felt like I could really trust and depend on the Ferndales team as a whole. Great experience and definitely recommend!
I love everything about Ferndales! My photographer recommended to me, and when the time came, I went dress shopping at 2 stores - the first was fancier, they gave us a Bellini to sip when we came in, and every dress was out of my budget. Then I went to Ferndales, the smaller, adorable, family-run shop, where every dress I tried on was under my budget! It may not be as fancy shmancy, but once you are there they treat you like family. Crystal led my appointment and helped me find the perfect dress, she was so sweet and constantly reassured me that I looked good in the dresses I was trying on. I found the most perfect dress by Estee' Couture. When it came time to order it, I made the cardinal mistake of ordering my dress a size smaller with the intention of losing weight. Come time to try my dress on at my first fitting, and it didn't fit, it was too small. The seamstresses, Ana and Connie, were life-savers! After they talked me off the ledge, they assured me they could fix it and I had nothing to worry about. After many months of stressing, a few extra dress fittings, and putting complete trust in Connie, come my wedding day my dress fit like a glove and couldn't have been more perfect. And did I mention that Connie makes the most beautiful veils?! She made me the most beautiful, dramatic veil, and it was absolutely breath-taking... One more anecdote - my cousin came to my second fitting with me, at that fitting she casually mentioned to Ana and Connie that she purchased her dress there too for her wedding in 2010. And Ana said 'oh yeah, I remember!' and proceeded to describe my cousin's dress in detail! If that doesn't tell you how much love and passion they put into what they do, I don't know what will. Ferndale's will always hold such a special place in my heart.
My mother got her wedding gown here (technically their prior location but same company) back in the 80s and we went a month ago for me to look for mine. It was such an incredible experience. Ana was so easy and wonderful to work with. We came in with a pretty big group and the whole place was so accommodating. In my appointment I managed to try on over 15 dresses and still didn’t feel rushed at all. I found the one and can’t wait for it to come in so I can go back in for my first fitting!
I absolutely loved Ferndales. Everyone was so amazing and such a joy to work with. From day one they were amazing and I was so happy to get my dress from them. I tried on the same dress somewhere else before but trying in on at Ferndales and all the great assistance, I loved the dress and was thrilled with each fitting. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law both got their dresses from Ferndales. They were so accommodating and helped me sew on custom sleeves and a little pocket made out of my mother's wedding dress to the inside of my dress, so I could add a penny that my best friend gave me that her mother wore on her wedding day. They were always a joy to work with and I am so lucky I was able to find my dress there. Everyone was amazing and the seamstress worked her magic. Thank you, Thank you!
I was hesitant to get a dress through Ferndales after my sister did and her alterations were not done two days before the wedding - and they were poorly done at that. But, as I had a six month engagement, I needed to find a dress. I found a dress that I was happy with and was told it could be altered to become the dress I loved. I bought the dress and paid for expedited shipping so it would get to me a month before the wedding. I was called two weeks later saying that my dress would not arrive until ten days before my wedding. At that point, I lost all confidence in Ferndales and I made arrangements to take my dress elsewhere for alterations (the dress turned out beautifully). I would recommend Ferndales to brides if they are looking for simpler, inexpensive dresses. But I would never recommend using any of their services as they have proved themselves twice to be incompetent.
I found the perfect dress at Ferndales Bridal in Orange, and the owner Connie brought my 1960’s dream to life with her inspired alterations (she made sleeves out of the extra polka dot fabric). ADORABLE. Everyone gushed over my unique dress. It’s so cute I’ll keep for special occasions…like a trip to Vegas or anniversary dinner.
Ferndal’s has a super selection of affordable and designer dresses. And know that Connie’s team can customize a dress to suit your exact style.
I called and made my appointment with Ferndales a couple weeks ago and the girl who I spoke with was so kind and very accommodating. When I arrived with my bridal party yesterday we received a warm welcome as if we were family. My consultant was Kristen. She was AMAZING!! It was my first time trying on wedding dresses and after I showed her 1 photo of a style I like she went around and pulled what she thought I would like. She did an amazing job with her choices and making sure I was comfortable throughout the process. She let me know it was ok to be a harsh critic and be sure that I am choosing the dresses I like because I like them and not because of the opinions of others. I finally narrowed it down and found my dream dress! It was truly a special day and I am so glad I found Ferndales! I highly recommend coming here and finding the dress of your dreams.. I did and cannot be happier Thank you Ferndales!!
I am so thankful that I went to Ferndales! Ana was so kind, patient and helpful as I tried on dress after dress. I was especially thankful that she did not show me anything outside of my budget and when myself or my mom asked to try something outside of budget she would caution us and advise us on how to achieve the look I was going for within my budget. I did not once feel rushed or pressured in the two hours I was there trying on dresses. Even when Ana knew I liked a dress that was going to costs my entire budget with custom work still needed, she pulled me the perfect dress that was HALF of what I was willing to spend but was absolutely perfect for me. Overall the entire experience was so positive for myself and my three guests!
I visited several bridal salons, and called three times as many, knowing exactly what I wanted, and Ferndales was the only one to make it happen. Not only did no other store come close to having what I wanted, but no other salon came even close to the level of customer service of Ferndales. They were quick to respond, attentive to any questions, flexible with their time, and went out of their way to make my dream dress happen. They went above and beyond my expectations, and I have bragged about their outstanding customer service to all of my family and friends.
Tom and Connie were so sweet, and such a great team. It has been an absolute pleasure working with them. It's no wonder they've been in business for so many years!
Connie and the Ferndales’ team was amazing!
This was the second place I visited to try and find my wedding dress. After trying on a few, Ana and team helped me find the perfect dress. We event cancelled our next appointment because I knew it was THE DRESS. I cannot thank the team enough, they were AMAZING and they have a really good selection of dresses and very well priced.
My dress was delivered and fit great! I only needed a few alterations and Connie immediately stepped in a knew what to do. I had a few different fittings, even while they were moving locations. They made me and my family feel special, always fit us in and had the alterations ready when I came in for my fittings. I received a lot of one-on-one attention from Connie and Ana, they made me feel so special and beautiful.
My dress was absolutely perfect for the big day and was exactly what I’d always dreamed of. Definitely add Ferndales to your list if you’re shopping for your wedding dress.
I got my wedding dress here because they carried the specific style I wanted to try on. They let me come in without an appointment to try it on, and I immediately fell in love with it. Although I did not need that many alterations done, the few that I got were done beautifully and I could not be happier with my experience at Ferndales Bridal!
I can honestly say Ferndales Bridal changed my entire outlook on wedding dress searching. I had gone to David's bridal the day before and had a truly awful experience. Almost no help getting into the right kind of dresses, being fitted, etc. I was left feeling completely insecure and terrified I'd never find a dress that actually made me feel beautiful. The next day I called Ferndales Bridal on a whim to see if they could accommodate a late-notice appointment. I spoke with Connie who said they were closed, but she offered to come in and see me anyway! First of all, this was the customer service I had so badly wanted thus far. As soon as I walked in I had a great feeling. I had read reviews that the place was old, which is true- 60 years and counting I believe?!! Nonetheless, it gives off a very hometown, family-run feel and the dresses are absolutely stunning. So many styles and variety. I was looking for a very minimalistic sort of gown... not your typical sparkly cupcake wedding dress. They had exactly what I had pictured!! Connie helped me try a series of dresses on, being honest about how she felt it would work with my body type and with my vision, but also being encouraging and complimenting... this is exactly the experience a bride wants! I'm so happy to say I found "the one"... and I would highly recommend ANYONE to give this shop a try. The selection and prices are fantastic, and above all the service is better than any wedding vendor I've worked with thus far!
ANA IS WONDERFUL!
I went to Ferndales after finding some dresses at other bridal shops that I liked, but didn't love, and was astonished when I opened their huge doors and saw hundreds of beautiful designer wedding dresses. My appointment was with Ana and as I walked through the store grabbing a couple dresses that I liked, Ana grabbed a couple that she thought I would like as well. As I began trying them on, all the while Ana being very helpful and making me feel a lot less uncomfortable for being almost naked in the dressing room with her, we found a couple dresses that I really liked. Finally, Ana pulled out a dress that she had grabbed without me seeing and although I was weary of it, she convinced me to try it on, and I ended up saying YES to her recommended dress. It was the perfect dress for me, and I wouldn't have even picked the dress up. On top of being a beautiful dress for my special day, the dress fit beautifully, and besides a couple alterations here and there (that their alteration's specialist did perfectly), I could not have been happier. THANK YOU, ANA! I would recommend YOU and this bridal salon to any bride!
I cannot say enough kind words about Ferndales bridal in orange ca. The owner Connie is a joy to work with and she helped handle any mistakes or communication needed. The fit on my dress ended up being perfect thanks to her and her seamstress, and the beading was amazing!
The worse experience ever, this is not the only bridal boutique, stay away from them!
I went to this bridal boutique because my sister has bought her wedding gown many years ago and we thought it was a good place to go back. Everything went well I found my wedding gown until I had a call from a very unprofessional and disrespectful lady named Ana. Ana called me less than 24 hours of my second fitting (3 weeks before my wedding) to “supposedly reschedule my appointment” because the owner, Connie had an “emergency” I panicked because I knew the big day was approaching. After an argument over the phone my mother called the store and asked Ana not to cancel my appointment, we couldn’t believe that without Connie’s approval I couldn’t try my gown???? Really??? We ended up going to the appointment and the reality was that they did have the dress ready for my second fitting, no alterations were done. When I finally picked up the dress we were upset at the fact that they overcharged for such a shady job and the dress looked awful…Connie insisted that it look great and that it was my fault they job was done like that. She also said to my fiancée, who had to call her to complain for the shady job she has done that I didn’t have a job so I kept on asking her for a better deal….WHAT??? When did I talk to you about not having a job???? Really??? I didn’t know I was unemployed lol… Not worth to deal with her crap, unprofessionalism, and rude staff… I had the worse time and experience at this place and I do regret buying the dress from this negative vibe and having it altered in there. I took my gown to another seamstress who laughed about the shady job this lady did. I wish I read the store’s reviews before walking to that store.
Awful staff, awful experience and pricy for their shady job!
Great service, Thank you Connie!!!
I found a lovely dress, the only disappointment was that they did not have my size. I had to have it significantly altered to fit.
I bought a sample dress from Ferndales. I had to pay with cash-no check or credit card but I was able to get a Maggie Sottero gown for a really great price. Since it was a sample it needed extensive alterations which were done at Ferndales. The alterations seemed a little high but they really worked hard on the dress and I think I had four or five fittings. This store isn't all fancy but they have a great selection of gowns and they are really good people. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!
I am the mother of two adult daughters and we originally found Ferndales in 2007 when my first daughter was married. We had a first rate experience for her wedding so it was a no brainer when my 2nd daughter was married June 2014. Now, after being a widow for 4 years I have found love again and I am getting married this December 2014. Once again we are having a fabulous experience working with Ferndales. We also purchased the bridesmaids dresses for both daughter's weddings and now we are purchasing dresses for our soon to be blended family for all four of our daughters. All of our dresses are beautiful and the knowledge, experience, and care the staff at Ferndales provided made our wedding dress shopping and planning beautiful.
Bride Debbie and Mom of two Brides
Ferndale's went above and beyond expectations, not only designing my dress, but with their customer service. These women know their stuff! Thank you ladies for making me look extraordinary on my wedding day! My dress was exactly what I wanted, " unique, and elegant" My husband loved it!
Ferndale's Bridal is THE bridal shop to go to in Southern California (and beyond). The staff is amazing, and the dresses are gorgeous. The tailoring is impeccable too! LOVE!
my two daughters and me drove all the way from vegas after someone told us about their sample sale in november.
Let me just said we had a small budget but the girls over at Ferndales were so nice and treat us like we were spending a million dollars there.
To top it all off they did all the alterations on my mother of the bride, my daughter the bridesmaid and the most important THE BRIDE in one weekend.
best bridal shop!
I was going to get married in jeans & a t-shirt(not really just not a dress person). I walked in & spoke to Connie for a few minutes & she asked me what I was looking for. I explained that I wanted very simple & NO BLING!! She said that she would be right back & in what seemed like a minute was back with 6 - 8 dresses & proceeded to help me try on each one until we found the perfect one(which by the way had bling) & I fell in love! The staff is great & I recommend all of my friends getting married there! They made me feel like I was the only bride in the store every time that I went in for fittings. The fittings were very smooth & easy also! I would definitely use them again &/or recommend them! I absolutely loved the staff there also.
I purchased my bridal gown at Ferndales and couldn't be happier! The process was quick and painless. I found my dream dress, which was "in stock" through the designer (Maggie Sottero), and it came in very quickly. The prices are fabulous and they offer everything from bridesmaids, mothers, tuxedos, alterations, shoes and accessories. We were able to dress everyone in the bridal party and our parents. They also work with a custom jeweler called Gem Finders that can make affordable jewelry to match any gown. They made me a beautiful chunky necklace to wear on my wedding day and my wedding band with my late grandpa's diamonds. The consultants are very friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. Plus, I was so impressed with their collection of gowns. They have a style and price for everyone! It is a simple family-owned business and that is what I love about this place. I will recommend everyone I know to go to Ferndales!
Love this place, found the perfect wedding dress. I loved the fact that everyone there is so friendly, it is family owned and they really make you feel like you are part of the family. We ended up getting all the dresses for my bridal party, as well as the grooms tux too. Needless to say, we were all satisfy. Since then I have gone back to buy dresses for other weddings I've been too.
I first heard of Ferndales Bridal thru my sister who got married 4 years ago and she had a great experience. So naturally it was the first and only place that I was going to go to get my wedding dress.
They have a huge selection, price ranges, and endless colors and styles. The staff is very friendly, patient, professional, knowledgeable and right from the start they make you feel like family and you know that they will take care you.
I fell in love with the second dress I tried but they suggested to try a few more just to make sure.
My experience was amazing and I highly recommend them :)
I love this store. They listed to what I wanted and showed me plenty of options. They never rushed me, totally guide me until I found my dream dress. They adjusted it perflectly.
It was a beautyful Maggie Sotero dress and when I found out the price I fall in love!! I totally recomed it.
My Fiancé's aunt purchased her gown here years ago, and was telling me all about it. The way she talked about it, she was so excited and even pulled out her gown to show us, and was still excited about it to this day. I figured I might as well go there, it was pretty local, and my last experience at David's Bridal was terrible and not at all personable (I had to stand in gowns I didn't like just waiting for the consultant to come back and change me out. It took me 2.5 hours to try on 5 dresses. Shameful).
First off, since I work a lot, and don't have much time for phone calls, it is easiest for me to email people. I have had issues with this before with other places which is so disappointing because it is business lost. Well Ferndale's is pretty on it with their emails! They always respond the moment they open, or an hour or two later, and their emails are always very sweet and inviting. I have only emailed with Emily, and she is very quick, which is much appreciated.
When we went there, I had no clue it was there, even though I frequently go to the gun store in the next parking lot. The signage is pretty unnoticeable, and there aren't any big feature windows that would grab the attention of a passerby. We walked in and my consultant there waiting for me, and she already knew who I was. She got an idea of the look I like, and picked out some gowns, while me and my girls were permitted to browse around and pick out gowns too! When we got about 7 or 8 gowns picked out, she brought me into the dressing room area. It is located right next to the mirrored room where my bridal party was, which was nice because we could still chat about the options while I was changing. The consultant, Ana, was so nice and friendly, and really had a feel for what I liked and didn't, and complimented me so kindly, and not in a fake way, which was really sweet of her. She helped me into the dresses, explaining the interior of the dress before getting me into it, and she stood with me while I showed my bridal party the dresses. It was nice because she was able to listen to input and offer different dresses for me to try. I was so very happy that I had her all to myself, as it is a big decision, and not one that happens every day, so her assistance was much appreciated. We were able to narrow my selection down to two choices, and I am going back tomorrow to try them on again and make my decision!
Let me add that I was beyond shocked when I heard the prices!! They have AMAZING prices! My future sister-in-law is purchasing my dress, and had set a budget of $4k, and none of the dresses that we looked at were under $1k! Pretty incredible if you ask me!
If I had to say one thing about what they could improve, I think it would be the carpet. That is about it. It would be nice to have it be tile or something smoother, as it is hard to see the flow of the train because it wants to catch on the carpet.
After my gowns were tried on, they let me and my bridal party browse around the place, looking at other gowns, different sashes, and the different dresses that are offered for the rest of the bridal party.
I cannot wait to tell others about this place, and be as excited as my fiancé's aunt years down the road.
for the past 4 years i been a bridesmaid at least twice a year and all the dresses came from Ferndales, they are always so nice to you from the moment you walk in and the plus is they have the best prices!
I'm sure when my time comes i will be purchasing my bridal gown from there too.
I purchased my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses from Ferndales. They have an excellent selection and are competitive in their pricing. After purchasing the dress I did not hear from them unless I called to check in to see if my dress/veil/bridesmaid dresses were in. Two of my bridesmaid dresses came in HUGE, which was strange because they got measured by Ferndales consultants. I was disappointed that Ferndales did not take extra steps to make sure that the dresses got altered and fit properly. I decided to go elsewhere for alterations and am glad I did.
I went here to purchase my wedding gown during their sample sale. I was treated like the perfect bride and found an amazing dress for an amazing deal. Their staff was amazing and so helpful. It made my dress buying experience Perfect.
I had a great experience with Ferndales, the staff was easygoing, always held my appointme
nts, alterations were done precisely and great value for name brand dresses. FOund my dream wedding dress here!
I was recommended to this place by one of my good lady friends. They helped me pick out a dress in the style I was looking for but they also picked a couple they thought would look good. Needless to say...they were right. The dress was a winner not only by me but by all my girls too and it was an AMAZING steal! My girls also picked out their dresses there the same day!! The alterations were very reasonable and they knew exactly what they were doing! I highly recommend this place to and newly engaged bride!!
Beautiful dresses! Helpful and accommodating. Alterations were very last minute though.
Love Connie and all the girls. Found the dress of my dreams at the first appointment. This is not a flashy joint. Been there done that. What you get here is great value and women who are down to earth. Not at all snotty like alot of bridal shops. I'm the second one in my family to use Ferndale's and have recommended them to several friends who have been just as pleased. Great selection at a variety of price-points.
This bridal shop was nice and accommodating. Ordering the dress was easy and it was delivered on time. Alterations were easy as well. I do have two complaints though. 1) I was due to pick up me dress the day before the wedding the store was closing early for some event, however they didn’t tell me, not even a phone call. I barely made it, if I had been minutes later, they would have been gone! A phone call would have been nice especially since they knew i was picking up that day and my wedding was on the following day... 2) when I went to take me dress out of the garment bag, they had my dress stuck in the zipper, I had to cut a bit off (thankfully it was the inside of the dress) AND, the tag to the dress was stuck in the dress’ zipper…they could have been a bit more careful rather than rushing for their event.
I got my dress and shoes for my May wedding from Ferndales. They were very helpful and spent alot of time with me from trying on dresses to the alterations. They have a huge selections of beautiful dresses that vary in price range. Alterations turned out perfect. They even helped me find jewerly to match my dress.
I went to ferndales to look for a dress and the first dress that I tried on I bought. The staff was so helpful Emily did a great job assisting with fittings. Connie was such a joy to work with..
Ferndales had a wide range of selection for a variety of budgets, and I actually found two dresses I loved there and picked my favorite between those. Their personal service while trying on dresses was top notch. I came back a second time after I narrowed it down to 2 dresses and selected mine. The ordering process was smooth, and I picked out a veil and headpiece as well, at a slightly discounted package rate. They are close by and very convenient. The gown quality was very high and a wide variety of designs, fabrics, and prices.
I had the best experience buying my dress. They were having a Sample Sale and I thought I would go & just try on some dresses since I have never tried a wedding dress on before. When we got there, the lady that helped us asked me what I was looking for and she picked about 8 dresses out and off to try them on. After trying on 8, I narrow it down to 3 and then to my dress. Every time I tried on the dress that I bought, my mom kept telling me that my face would just light up. I could not stop smiling when I had my dress on. Yes, I got it for very cheap but I would of paid the full amount if I had to. I just knew this was my dress. As I was walking down the aisle to my husband, I could hear people in the background saying how beautiful my dress was. Thanks Ferndales….
Ferndales is just a basic salon in need of some updating and is a bit crowded and cluttered making it hard to look at their entire selection. But if in today's internet era, as long as they carry your designer, does appearance really matter?
Staff is very friendly and efficient. They were very nice to my young niece who came along on my initial visit and offered water to all of us. Not pushy at all.
My only complaint is relative to the final details and alterations. First, when I came for my final fitting, I opted not to retry on the gown as I hadbn't had any alterations done other than having a bra sewn into my strapless gown and the bustling. The satff wasn't prepared for me to take it home that day but offered to steam it on the spot.
Even though I bought my dress elsewhere, Ferndales was such a fun shop! Nothing was off limits and you were able to browse yourself. My consultant, Ros, was such a crack up! She didn't gush after every dress I tired on and would even make faces at the 'no's' and would tell me to 'get it off' in her thick British accent! My mom ended up getting her dress here (she also bought her wedding dress here in 1979!) and was given a big discount for paying cash!
I bought my dress from Ferndales during their sample sale. It was a $1400 dress I got for $250! They had to do magic to get this dress to fit me! Im a size 2 and the dress I bought which was the sample was a size 14! They were awesome! I had to go to like 5 dress fittings so they could get it right but in the end it fit like a glove! I love my dress & all of my guests commented on how beautiful it was! Very nice relaxed dress shop no high pressure sales here.
Loved my dress and my consultant- Jennifer who is no longer there- actually picked it out! She was very helpful!
The only complaint I had was the lack of service when I arrived. I went to the bridal shop about a total of 5 times and 3 of the 5 times I had to search for someone to help me. granted I didn't have an appointment but I expected someone to be at the front desk or ask if I needed help once I they saw me.
I bought one of the most expensive dresses there - $1010 and the alternations (bust cups, bustle, shorten, wires on the side) put me back $300+. A bit expensive for me.
I had a great experience at Ferndales from beginning to end. They offer a wide variety of dresses at very reasonable cost. I had an amazing bridal consultant (Roz) help me who was really knowledgable in bridal fashion and knew the right dresses to show me for my shape/size. I also liked that I did everything at Ferndales (got the dress). They also did my alterations and made sure my dress was steamed and ready for pick up a few days before my wedding.
I made quite a few alterations to my off the rack dress. I purchased an Impressions Bridal Freda wedding dress for an amazing price and took off one strap as well as put in a corset back. Although I did have a few more fittings then I originally imagined I knew I was in good hands the entire time! Service was amazing and friendly. My dress turned out to be 1000% better then what I could of ever imagined!
It was the perfect dress and I wasn't even looking for it. The veil I bought from them matched perfectly. The alteration prices weren't amazing, but overall it was like a dream!
I looked for dresses everywhere but I was able to find the one at Ferndales. I ordered it in November and it was ready in April. It is a Casablanca dress. I got a few things customized like corset back which made it take longer. When the dress came in I was not sure if it was the one but after a few alterations it was amazing. I live about 2 hours from the store which made it difficult to get to. At my second fitting they made it very easy for me. They did all the alterations the same day so I would not have to travel to the store the again.
Overall I was completely satisfied with the end product. The staff are not amazing at customer service but my dress made up for that.
My dress was perfect! it came in before the estimated delivery date! I didnt have a single problem with this shop. Ana always helped me and did an excellent job!
I am so glad I found my dress at Ferndales. I got an amazing deal and couldnt have found a more perfect dress anywhere else. The owner and her daughters were so helpful. Especially Emily. Thank you for helping me find the perfect dress in my budget.
I knew that employees at Ferndales could be very rude, from reading other reviews; I experienced that too, but didn’t think it mattered. What a mistake! Terrible, terrible experience with alterations on the wedding dress that I bought here. I had spent months looking for the perfect dress, and they mangled it.
When they finally got around to hemming the bottom, after the third fitting, they cut it terribly uneven, and too short in patches. They didn't even hem the underlayers, just left jagged cuts, like a drunken child with scissors had gone at it. My fiance was shocked to see what they had done to my beautiful dress. They insisted that nothing was wrong, particularly insisting that having the bottom an inch off the ground was not too short, and that wanting it longer was just “a personal preference.” They said that what they gave me is how the dress is supposed to look, that no one would notice, and that I am just too particular. Over $300 on alterations, and they couldn't even be bothered to properly hem it. This is besides all the tears, holes, ironing-scars and runs that they put into it, and the improper sewing of the pleats at the waistline, leaving an open, fraying seam. The title of this post, by the way, is what a seamstress at another bridal shop said when she saw how Ferndales had left my dress.
Do not get your dress altered here, or you will be taking a HUGE risk.
They were very kind, and prices were great. Alterations were extremely affordable
I went to David's Bridal and Paradise Creations before finding out a friend of mine bought her dress here. Since nothing had really popped out at me anywhere else, I figured why not? It was the best choice I could have made!
You can actually LOOK at the dresses and pick what you might want to try on. Brenda helped me and she was FANTASTIC! I didn't have to show her any pics; I told her what I tended to like and she picked two gowns to add to the three I chose.
The first one I tried on (a dress she picked) was the ONE. I can't tell you how relieved I was when I finally realized I COULD find a dress for me!
I absolutely LOVED the entire experience. David's was nice; good service and nice dresses, but they kept putting me in gowns that were "in", not dresses I was looking for. Go to Ferndales and you will not need to go anywhere else.
