ors. He could not pivot or go off script when asked to. He could not read the room. He did not listen at all to many of our previous asks when it came to length of genres, when to play the song genres, and etc. He is the definition of a "press play and go AFK" DJ where I often found him just playing a song and going to the bar and/or dessert table / late night snacks or just sitting there not engaging AT ALL with the dance floor. He was barely communicative once he got in his emotions or upset because people kept asking him to change the songs/pivot because the vibe was legit dead / no one was dancing and the bride kept asking to change the songs yet he refused to often times saying condescending comments towards anyone that requested change. Leading up to the wedding he tried to make it seem like he was the "second coordinator" yet he was the most unattentive/useless DJ I've ever seen and I've been to dozens of weddings. He was unable to transition any song. Often times he would abruptly change the song and just killed any momentum. Every single guest stood there scratching their head at one point as he switched to a new song mid-dance. If a DJ is unable to transition properly, then I'm not really sure you can call him a DJ. If your client gives you a list of songs and you do not spend a few minutes to listen and create a good transition, it shows incompetency, laziness, and careless behavior. There was literally not a single skillset I witnessed from him where I would be able to differentiate him between a regular person pressing play / delegating the dance floor. I'm genuinely shocked to see these reviews to be honest. If I were to message every one of our guests and ask them to rate this "DJ", they would not give him a 5-star rating. To me, my biggest gripe was his inability to read the room and pivot from his script, his overall rudeness towards everyone, and how disengaged he was. Our wedding night exemplified that Tom is not a true DJ and I am genuinely disappointed that I paid thousands for him to be there. We 100% could've done better if we just had a YouTube mixup or just had someone with an AUX cable just randomly play songs. That's how bad he was. The following day, my family had a get together, and the majority of my family mentioned that Tom didn't know what he was doing. This isn't just one person or two. It was the majority. The fact that he let his emotions and frustrations get the best of him is concerning to me given that he is a police officer. Based on his pretentious comments to the coordinator and MoH, I can already envision the type of officer he is. It's scary to know that he carries a badge and gun when he lets his emotions get the best of him because he couldn't pivot / go off script when asked to do so. It's your job. The fact that you can't pivot is sad. It was very obvious he just wanted to press play and be in his corner and do nothing. If you're reading this, although we gave you an undeserved tip, here's one worth giving: If the bride is requesting you to change the music / switch gears, you do it. You making comments like "Don't tell me how to DJ" or telling the coordinator "Don't come up here again, I don't work for you" when the Bride was asking them to go up to you is just intolerable and so condescending.
