Fox Hill Event Center

We had our wedding fall of 2023 and it was an amazing day. Julie was great to work with helped us throughout the entire process and did very good communicating with us. The food from Blue Herron Cafe had our guest raving about it, everyone loved the pork roast. It was a beautiful fall day with great places for photos.

After meeting with Julie and getting a tour of Fox Hill, we instantly knew it was the perfect location for our fall wedding. Throughout the process, Fox Hill was always prompt with responding to our inquires, gave excellent recommendations for vendors, and did an amazing job setting up the ceremony and reception spaces. We couldn’t have been more happy with our special day!

Fox hill event center was an absolute joy to work with. Julie goes above and beyond and leaves no detail behind! She was so organized and easy to work with; when I say I had minimal stress the day of I mean it! I know between my awesome vendors everything would be taken care of. The venue itself is so beautiful it doesn’t need much else to make it your own and absolutely gorgeous! The lights in the courtyard add just enough “romance”. The property with the fall leaves and the sun peaking in was the best photo op! Thank you Julie for everything you were amazing!!!

We loved our special day with Fox Hill Event Center. Between the ease of planning, food, easy set up/tear down and our day of coordinator Georgie. Our day was absolutely stunning and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you for having us at your venue!

Julie eith Fox Hill Event Center made me feel welcome, warm, and at home from the first interaction the the end of our wedding day. She was friendly and kind and accommodating and patient. Also very great with communication and organization! She was very helpful with timelines and made everything flawless for my husband and I. The location is stunning, with its beautiful greenery, small trickling waterfall behind the altar, and complete with a firepit for family and friends to enjoy. The venue was affordable and perfectly sized for everything we needed. There are also hotels right near by to accommodate rooms for family and friends! Everything about this venue was perfect for us. We had a great experience with Fox Hill. Our wedding was beautiful. Julie was very accommodating and made sure everything was as I wanted it. The venue itself is very pretty, which makes decorating very easy. You can do very little decorating and everything still looks amazing. Food was good, came out at the time we discussed, and there was plenty to feed all of our guests. We had a great time.

Fox Hill is an absolutely gorgeous venue! Julie was great to work with and helped make sure every detail was taken care of. So many of our guests complimented how beautiful everything was, and our photographer even said it was one of the nicest venues she had been too. The packages are reasonably priced and make it easy to get everything you want. It was so nice not to worry about renting tables and linens. The food was AMAZING. Everyone loved it and I wish I could eat the whole meal again. I'm so glad we chose Fox Hill and I wish one of my friends would get married there so I can go back again!

Julie was highly professional, knowledgeable, and a wonderful communicator. The process was easy from beginning to end and we didn't feel excessive pressure to do more than we wanted. The venue was gorgeous and we received countless compliments on the venue space from our friends and family following the ceremony and reception.

Fox Hill took all the stress out of my wedding day. I never had to worry because everything was set up early and took down for me. The food was fantastic and the waiting staff was phenomenal at making sure my husband and I had whatever we needed. Julie was magic creating a schedule and room layout. I truly just had to show up and enjoy my day, and I couldn't be more thankful!

Julie was excellent to work with. Very flexible, offered great advice and asked questions we didn’t even think of. The entire process was very clear, organized and exciting. Our buffet line was filled with delicious food. Everyone really loved the whipped garlic potatoes! The staff was prompt, polite and helpful throughout the night. Fox Hill made my food allergy a non-issue during our reception and it made my night. I (the groom) even had a waitress waiting at the end of the buffet line to hand me a plate of dairy free food. Julie helped organize the flow of the ceremony with ease and made our wedding day simple, elegant and fun. Our wedding at Fox Hill was amazing! The team was amazing. We changed our minds a few things in the months leading up to the wedding and they had absolutely no problem adjusting to our wishes! Julie also sat down with us multiple times and kept in continues contact with us regarding decisions needing to be made and never batted an eye when plans changed. The food was amazing and they sent home a plate for me and my husband at the end of the night. The whole property is beautiful: from the pristine entrance of the building, to the back end butting up with a golf course. I couldn’t have been happier with the ceremony and reception. Very affordable for all that comes with the venue. I anticipated my wedding day to be high stress with lots to get taken care but the crew at Fox Hill handle everything and I was able to just enjoy my wedding day. They are amazing!

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! The venue was beautiful and Julie (the owner/coordinator) was extremely helpful. Her communication, professionalism, guidance, and kindness eased my wedding planning stress. Our guests especially raved about the food! Blue heron is the exclusive catering company- everything was tasty and fresh, with so many different options that were not your typical buffet food. They exceeded our expectations in every way!

I’m not sure where to start as my husband and I have been on quite the journey with Fox Hill since 2018! Like many couples, we were affected by the pandemic and originally scheduled to be married in 2020 but unfortunately had to postpone. Throughout the process (even before the pandemic), Julie and her team have been wonderful especially as we live out of state. We live in Massachusetts but my husband is originally from Michigan. When COVID reared its ugly head, Fox Hill was very accommodating in rescheduling us TWICE! Julie and her team were always very communicative whenever we had questions and we were overjoyed that we could include our pup during our big day. When our big day FINALLY came this past May, everything went so smoothly. Although to be fully transparent, we are pretty easy going and after basically 4 years of wedding planning, we were ready to just celebrate with our friends and family. The food from Blue Heron was SOOOOO GOOD that we might have to stop by the café when we visit family. Our guests also shared this sentiment by also going back to the buffet 2-3 times. We really can’t say enough good things about Fox Hill and so glad we were able to find this venue that made wedding planning so much easier especially from a few states away.

While we didn't have our reception at the event center, the caterer from there came onsite for our reception. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Blue Heron Catering and Julie Williams. The food was amazing, and Julie was a joy to work with. She was easy to communicate with and was always quick to respond to any questions we had. We have several folks who are sensitive to gluten, and Julie truly met those needs. We also had a guest with a sensitivity to onions, and during the reception, Julie grilled some steak without the onion gravy and provided a salad without onions right on the spot. What a blessing that was to our guest! Our guests all raved about the food, and the portions provided were perfect allowing a few folks to enjoy seconds. It is obvious that Julie and Blue Heron Catering truly treat their clients like family. They helped make our daughter’s wedding perfect. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking to host an event in northern Michigan.

My husband and I used Fox Hill as our ceremony and reception venue and we absolutely love it. The space is beautiful and you can decorate to match your own theme. The staff is very kind, and knowledgeable. If you have question on ideas or are just stuck they will help you brainstorm a way of making your dreams come true! I would definitely come back for any future events! 🥰

GLUTEN SENSITIVE PEOPLE PLEASE READ!!!!!!! If you or any one you know that would be attending your wedding that has any food allergies or any issues with food, DO NOT BOOK!!! I had attending a wedding here and have Celiac Disease, which is an autoimmune disease that when I eat gluten or wheat products my body attacks like it's bad. Sadly this means I get very sick when I have it in my system. I had asked the catering staff which items on the table would be gluten free for me to consume. They had no idea and looked at me like I was crazy, and told me to go ask the wedding coordinator so I did, she also did NOT know, then I had to wait for the coordinator to text someone to get an answer, a few minutes she finally told me everything on the table was gluten free but the bread and Salad crutons, so I said thank you. I filled my plate with food and headed to my table to eat! The lady was giving me very unsure vibes, so I pulled out my Nima Sensor that test food for wheat and gluten and it came back positive!!! I had ate a salad off that same plate and got very sick from it. The staff didn't seem to care about the food coming back positive after telling me it didn't contain gluten. I have now been sick for days and have permanent damage to my small intestine. They didn't even offer for other options at all for me, lucky I had snacks in my car so I could at least eat something. And the bride and groom told the owner of the venue that there will be 3 people that are gluten free attending this event and it never even got passed on to the catering company or the coordinator!! Not impressed, good thing I canceled my wedding here. Don't recommend!

My husband and I used Fox Hill and their catering for our February 2022 wedding! Julie and her crew where amazing! Included in your room rental & catering you get a full staff of servers, water service, linen, tables, chairs, some decor, and tear down. We loved having our winter wedding there because there is 2 full walls with windows/doors. They also offer an on-site outdoor area to get married at that is beautiful (we didn't use this due to having a winter wedding). They also allow you to bring in your own alcohol and desert! When we were setting up the staff went above and beyond to help us! We planned our wedding in 3 months, and one of the best choices we made was picking fox hill for our wedding venue!

You can tell that Julie takes great pride in this venue. Both her and Emileigh have been there every step of the way to answer questions, and to help with anything my husband and I needed. The venue is large, beautiful and the ceremony area is right behind in a pretty garden area. We chose this venue because there is so much included in their packages, and there were a lot of options. We opted for the platinum package, and it was still cheaper than a lot of the venues we looked at - which was just for a room! The staff at Fox Hill were always friendly and helpful, and the venue was clean and ready to go at 7am when we arrived on our wedding day. I can't recommend this venue enough, if you're searching for something intimate, professional, beautiful, and affordable, this is your place!

I could not recommend Fox Hill enough. All of our family and friends were blown away with the venue! It was stunning and everything we wanted. The ceremony area is both simple and dramatic with the stone aisle, and the reception area is so tasteful & elegant. We worked with Emileigh in planning and hosting our remote wedding (we live in Salem, Oregon) and I was so impressed with her service. Emileigh communicated so well, answered all of our questions promptly, and was a wonderful and calming guide the day of the wedding. She helped us plan all the little details. Finally, the food at Fox Hill (catered by Blue Heron Cafe) is SO GOOD. All of the guests went up for seconds :) Book Fox Hill - you won't regret it.

Fox Hill is a beautiful and large event center. They have an amazing view outside for photography and a gorgeous hall. Julie and Emily were extremely helpful with planning and setting up, as well as communication with myself and vendors.

The venue was amazing! They were very accommodating to ensure that our day was exactly like we planned! With the uncertainty of covid, the team eased our minds more than once!!! The venue was beautifully decorated and the staff went above and beyond all expectations! We would absolutely encourage any couples to use this venue in the future!

Julie and Haley are amazing to work with, prices are extremely reasonable and many of my guests said the food was the best wedding food they have ever had at a wedding! We just had our wedding at Fox Hill on 12/20/2019. Since it is the winter we needed to have our ceremony inside as well as the reception. Julie was able to help us come up with a way to have the room setup that executed our vision. We have had so many compliments with how beautiful the venue was and how unique it was to have both the ceremony and reception in the same room. Everyone also loved the food catered by Blue Heron Cafe. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a venue in northern Michigan.

Fox Hill provided us with everything we needed to have a beautiful wedding. They have many different packages to choose from in almost every price range. We loved that Fox Hill was so clean and had wonderful views. Another huge bonus was the fact that we could have our ceremony and reception at the same venue, not only that but it gave us the option to have our ceremony inside which was necessary due to unpredictable Michigan weather. My husband and I got married August 3, 2019 here. They were great throughout the whole planning process and helpful with all the questions I asked them. The food was also amazing. I had alot of good complaments on the food.

We enjoyed having our wedding ceremony and reception at Fox Hill Event Center. We received many compliments on the venue and the grounds. Catering must be done by the venue which limited our options but all of our guests raved about the food as well. We really enjoyed having the outdoor space available and it made for beautiful pictures. Overall, we were satisfied with the quality and value of the venue.

Fox Hill Event Center is a wonderful place to have your ceremony and reception. The outdoor reception area is stunning and you can customize it to your taste with decorations and the nature surrounding the area is gorgeous. The reception hall is beautiful too, with exposed white wood rafters and chandeliers that you can dim to your liking. They have hanging bars so you can have stuff hanging from the ceiling, plants, dreamcatchers or whatever your heart desires. You can have lights hanging too for ambience. The food from Blue Heron Cafe is by far the best food you'll have, if you want to out do everyone else's wedding food, you'll do it with Blue Heron. The whole staff that helps with the weddings is extremely accommodating to what your personal tastes and needs are, I recommend Fox Hill Event Center for your wedding.

Fox Hill is such a beautiful venue. My husband and I got married there this past summer and it was the perfect setting for our intimate brunch wedding. The overall feel to Fox Hill is a combination of rustic and classy. The outdoor ceremony space is gorgeous. The indoor reception/event space has high ceilings with large lantern-like light fixtures, and feels bright and open with plenty of natural light. Fox Hill also offers a variety of wedding packages and services, so if you are on a budget (like we were) it's a great option. The food that was catered in from Blue Heron Cafe (affiliated with Fox Hill) was soooo delicious. We got a lot of compliments on the food from our guests, and we would also certainly recommend it. We felt like our wedding day could not have gone more smoothly. The staff at Fox Hill did a wonderful job and Julie Kearns did a great job coordinating everything on the day of. We did have a couple suggestions relating more to communication and organization before the event. We felt that we were passed from event planner to event planner in the months leading up to the wedding. This was a little frustrating because we had to reiterate details that we thought were already set in to each person we were passed to. So information/wedding details we told one person was not being passed on to another or recorded in our file. It got to the point where we weren't sure what details were actually going to make it into the wedding. This sort of made us feel unimportant, though we understand it's a busy business especially in the summer, we felt like we were put on the back burner. So our only suggestion is to maybe assign one person to each event or to make organization more of a priority. Again, we felt like our overall experience with Fox Hill was a positive one, and we would absolutely recommend it. Our wedding day was perfect. :)

Fox Hill Event Center was an amazing venue for my daughter's reception. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have received so many compliments from people about the venue from how beautiful it was to how amazing the food tasted. In fact, I was told that it was the best food they had ever eaten at wedding reception! I highly recommend this venue!

Everyone from Fox Hill did an amazing job of helping us put together our wedding. They were always available to talk to and ask questions. The venue is beautiful and was perfect for us. Everything went very smoothly and I definitely recommend them if you are in the Cadillac area.

Fox Hill was designed to be the perfect wedding venue, but they wouldn't be able to pull it off if they didn't have wonderful staff and great food, too! We hosted 250 guests in June and decided to seat some of them in the courtyard so we had more room inside. The layout and setup turned out even better than I envisioned! The gardens, landscaping, and surrounding trees were absolutely beautiful and provided a great backdrop for photos, and yard games for our guests. The neutral decor inside makes it so easy to personalize the space. Julie and Brian worked around some food allergies and concerns for us. Brian is very creative with food and helped us come up with a great menu. We're still hearing positive reviews from our guests about the dinner! By the end of planning I was so sick of coordinating and making decisions. I was ready to be done and just be married! But our reception at Fox Hill went so smoothly, I joked the next day that we should do it all over again and host another party there!! I can’t say enough about Fox Hill. We decided on this venue after we saw the beautiful outdoor space. We loved the ability to have an outdoor ceremony, our reception dinner inside and the ability for our guests to enjoy themselves inside or outside during our reception. Julie was so helpful in asking us questions to help us make sure we thought about all the details for our day. If we had questions, she was always available with answers. We were able to set up for our event the day before because we had a Friday wedding and the venue wasn’t booked the day before. This was a huge stress reliever for us because we could just enjoy our wedding day, knowing everything was ready to go. The staff at Fox Hill were amazing! Anything we needed the day of and during our event, they were there to help. Julie’s daughter even ran home to get a bag of ice for one of my bridesmaids (due to a previous injury she had) when she asked about it. The space has great natural light and really has so much to offer. Our friends and family told us over and over again about how beautiful the venue was and that they loved having the indoor and outdoor space. Definitely kid friendly. 😊 If you’re looking for a beautiful and unique setting, look no further! Thanks Julie and team!

Fox Hill is amazing!! They were so great to work with and made pulling off our dream wedding a breeze! We had so many compliments from our guests on the beautiful facility and amazing food!! Everything was absolutely wonderful!

We just absolutely loved working with Fox Hill. The ceremony site is gorgeous and right inside is the reception space. It was so convenient for our guests and we had so many people tell us that they appreciated having it all in one area, without a big break in the middle. The reception space is also really nice, it looked great with just minimal decorating. The staff at Fox Hill is amazing. I asked a lot of questions and they were always so helpful. They do a LOT of work behind the scenes the day of, and were totally helpful getting the flow of the day to go smoothly. Our photographer was able to get beautiful photos without having to leave the venue at all, which was a huge plus because that gave us a lot more time with our guests. Fox Hill offers their own catering, which was delicious! Our family is full of chefs and cooks, and everyone raved about the food all night! People said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had (even our photographer!). Fox Hill was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't have changed anything at all.

Foxhill was a beautiful venue for a very local place. The food Was great! However, the wedding coordinator did not have everything together. This was and will be my only Marriage. I have never gone through planning a wedding. I put together a timeline with vendor contacts (made sure EVERYONE foxhill, stylists, photographers, all family had this. Sent a GROUP text to everyone the day of) I still was getting bombarded with questions because in my opinion the wedding coordinators did not fully do their job. The day before I was stressed walking in to set up with tables scattered and not properly put together upon arrival. Being a very organized and easy going bride I didn't get to fully enjoy my wedding due to the details that the coordinators should have looked at more closely. I feel like most Of the stress came from the coordinators not properly taking the time to go over details with me and only corresponding by email. Fox hill was and reasonably priced, but it was not cheap. In my opinion they should not advertise for a wedding coordinator. Also, I had to have my family clean up my wedding? I've never been to a place where the GUESTS had to do it.
