n with our instructor, Viva, he was as excited about it as I had been! The entire staff at Fred Astaire Dedham was so welcoming and encouraging that they lit our fire and love of dance! We quickly found ourselves looking forward to our Friday night date/lesson, and we look forward to continuing beyond our wedding. Viva helped us to think outside the box to really jazz up our first dance, and even figured out how to bring two songs together seamlessly for us to go from a traditional wedding waltz into a jive! The guests at our wedding were blown away, and we had so much fun! We could never express our gratitude enough for the professionalism, kindness, and loving encouragement that Viva and the entire staff showed to us, and we are definitely looking forward to more date nights on the dance floor!

ecommended the instructors at Fred Astaire and helped us find a local studio. We were paired with Erin and were so lucky to get along so well with her from the very beginning! I am one of those dances off beat flailing around dancers and although John can keep a beat he usually just nods along, so we needed quite a bit of help! We wanted to have a memorable experience for our dance - not only look like we knew what we were doing (but felt like it too), and definitely have fun doing it! Erin was our answer! We had a song chosen and she gracefully choreographed a routine that we could easily remember, fit our personalities, and went well with the music. We looked forward to our classes and even attended a few group classes. We practiced and rocked our first dance - our guest were very impressed and we had a lot of fun. We've since put our skills to use while attending other friends weddings and get especially excited when our wedding song is played and we can show off . Thanks for being so patient, creative, and inspiring, Erin!

g planning. All the staff were great and welcoming. Special shout out to our instructor, Julian, who was an absolute joy to learn from! He worked with us to create a beautiful dance that matched our personalities, dance abilities and song. We’ll be back for more dance lessons in the future!

t the least bit upset or excited if we had forgotten something he had taught us just a week before. We even invited him to be a guest at our wedding to see the results of all his hard work but he could not attend due to his job responsibilities. We were extremely confident that we would have a number of wonderful dances together on our wedding night with each other and family and friends which was exactly what happened. I would highly recommend Julian as an instructor. We observed that the other instructors were extremely friendly, greeted us by name, and showed great enthusiasm and patients with their students while we were taking lessons from Julian. Finally, the manager of the studio was on site virtually every night that we went for a lesson over several months time.

We worked with Julian, and he was absolutely terrific in every way! He was upbeat, positive and patient, and always so happy to see us upon our arrival (and also extremely talented!). Julian not only worked with us to develop our east coast swing routine, but also took a special song recorded on an old CD, and cropped/digitized it for us to fit the timing of the dance- going above and beyond what he needed to to! d I wanted to a big wedding dance for our September 2018 wedding. We have zero formal dance training. Worst still, we found this amazingly elaborate wedding dance that another couple did on Youtube and we were desperate to do something similar. We randomly selected Sean at Fred Estaire based on a quick google search and we showed him the video and said "We want to do that." In the beginning, we couldn't even put one foot in front of the one another. But Sean was attentive, patient, persistent, and really a genius when it came to building dance skills quickly with limited time. We worked with him only a few times a month and he moved us from novices to literal dance experts! He also deeply influenced the dance itself and creatively tweaked/tailored our routine to make it our own. When we finally performed the dance at our wedding, people's jaws hit the floor. Everyone told us afterward that they had no idea we danced formally outside of work. That was how good it was. id not, and was somewhat apprehensive going into the experience. Those feelings quickly dissipated after our first lesson with Erin. She, along with everyone else at Fred Astaire, was fun and energetic, making both of us feel immediately at ease. The dance we put together made our First Dance extra special, and the reaction from our families made it clear that they enjoyed it as well! Because of Erin, I was paid the ultimate compliment: it looked like I actually knew what I was doing. Though our wedding is behind us, we plan on going back to continue group lessons. Thank you to Erin and everybody else at Fred Astaire! We highly recommend that any soon-to-be newly weds considering putting together a special dance for their wedding day make the same choice that we did!

He also helped us learn some basic hustle so that we could do some other dances on our wedding day and for all the other weddings we are attending. I have a very hard schedule to work with and it was so easy to book lessons with Shawn.

Shawn was able to assess what we were looking to do for our first dance and break things down into what we needed to know. In only 7 lessons we became competent rumba dancers with a few spins and moves. Even with all the anxiety of our wedding day, we were able to remember what Shawn taught us and made it through the first dance with flying colors! Our guests were very impressed. The studio is located in an old church building and is always clean and well-maintained. All of the staff are very friendly and make an effort to get to know you. Due to our busy schedules we weren't able to take advantage of some of the other perks such as Friday practice parties and group lessons that are included in the wedding package. We would be interested in coming back at some point in the future when our schedules calm down to learn some dances beyond the rumba!
