My wedding also happened to fall on the day of the Fiesta Bowl, so when Penn State won the band immediately played the fight song - everyone loved it! They learned a few songs for us and played them beautifully (including our bridal party entrance songs). Our first dance was to a Queen song and the band absolutely KILLED it! The dance floor was full the entire night - guests who claimed they "don't dance" couldn't tear themselves away. Dana and the band really made us feel so special and made our wedding absolutely perfect. Thank you Groove Place!!

On top of it all, they were affordable, especially for a 10 piece horn band! We had a wedding of over 200 guests and everyone was having an absolute blast. Their catalog was extensive and covered a very wide range of styles (which was crucial considering the age range of our guests). I cannot recommend this band enough! Their song selection is fantastic, and they work closely with you to make sure you have all the songs you love as well as songs to fit the preferences of the crowd in attendance. Dana also worked with us to come up with a good schedule for the night, and he even made a custom song for our first dance. The energy of Dana and the band is amazing; he had all of our guests (of all ages!) up and dancing all night. Dana also does really killer versions of The best proof of how much we loved them is the fact that not only have they played my wedding, but they played at my sister's wedding, many family members wedding's, and ton of friends' wedding and parties. Each and every time they play an event for my family and friends, they are outstanding. w-up emails, it was a real pleasure working together. Dana is a real people-person and he wants his clients to be happy. He does whatever he can to fulfill any and all wishes. We had a 5 hour reception and he worked with us to have different musical arrangements (piano and trumpet at ceremony, jazz trio at cocktail hour, and full 9 piece band for the final three hours) throughout the entire event. Unfortunately Jamie was unable to perform at our wedding because of a health issue, but Sheena filled in spectacularly for her. Jamie, we missed you (!), but Sheena, our guests never even knew you were not the regular lead vocalist! Thank you for your rendition of “You’re the Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me”. We loved it. Our guests raved about the band all night and afterwards. We even had several male cousins on the dance floor and they said it was the highest compliment to the band because they never dance in public! We are so pleased that we chose Groove Place to make our party exactly what we wanted it to be. As an aside that may matter to some people, ours was the first same-sex wedding for Groove Place and we could not have felt more love and respect from the band. They really care about their customers.

Dana made the whole process a breeze. Since we couldn't meet face-to-face, he Skyped with us to get to know each other and talked about how the party would go. He also set us up with a playlist that fit our audience perfectly. Since I grew up on an old tobacco farm, we hosted the party in an old barn. Groove place showed up in western attire to fit our theme. Despite the rain, they got the party started fast with some great country tune and then rolled right into the dance music. Everyone danced from the first song to the last. People were coming up to me and asking how they could book the band after three songs. Since it was also the 4th of July, we shot off some fireworks and Groove Place, of course, played Katie Perry's "Firework" to tie it all together. Perfection. I can't thank Groove Place enough for making our engagement party feel more like a wedding reception. We feel like they are part of the family now. Someone else will have to get married soon to have them back. They blew the barn doors off the place. Now I just need to figure out how to get them to Colorado. #grooveplacefanclub

hat occurred : our venue had recently had a band that came in and played too loud to the point that the authorities were called. Our venue then told us 2 weeks before the wedding that we could not have a band, and when I told Dana this issue it was almost instantly resolved. This is not your typical boy band that will sit there and play so loud you cannot have a conversation, this is a band that you will be off your seat dancing the entire night. My now wife and I were almost disappointed by all the food we got because everyone was up dancing having a good time. One thing I remember is when the saxophone came out from behind the band and started a Congo line that went 100 people long ! This is a band for any.and all occasions as I feel they would make you event as special as they made ours . We got back into the car afterwards and my husband turned to me and said, "I want that band for our wedding" to which I immediately replied, "Done!" There was so much energy and our entire wedding was on the dance floor the whole time. We actually extended the night because we were having so much fun and no one wanted to go home! They also have a great mix of new songs (2013) and going all the way back to the early 1900s. Dana and his band are very friendly and their prices are reasonable. Now the details.... a successful event takes planning; it's not only the music. Their band manager, Dana Camacho, is extremely competent and experienced with Wedding events. He understands the planning process, listens to your needs, is readily available to answer questions and worked extremely well with our wedding planner, venue manager, sound company and, of course, us. We met early, picking through their substantial song list, worked out timing and schedule and what we wanted. He then worked with our planner and caterer for a seamless integration. He also took charge in resolving a concern about the in-house sound system and the venue constraints we had. Dana visited the site and came up with a solution that resulted in an incredible event! He knows what is needed behind the scenes to make it effortless. We had a lot of confidence in him and the Band. He also addressed our questions on back-up contingencies, eliminating anxiety about unforeseen illnesses on the part of any of the band members. Now the performance! From the incredible vocals and presence of Bobby Jones and Jamie, to the awesome horn section, the rocking guitars and drums, they have a great presence! They interacted with the audience, knew how best to sequence the songs, were very flexible and moved with the vibe of the crowd! We felt they understood that it was our wedding and our enjoyment was the most important thing to them. We highly recommend Groove Place for any event!

Dana was wonderful to work with and Groove Place was extremely accomodating to any requests and last minute changes we made. There were alot of musicians that attended the wedding and they were impressed. If the music and vocals weren't spot on they would have known. People were telling Don before the reception started that he should have brought his horn, we didn't want to give the suprise away. The horn section really completes your sound. When you played "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant"my wife and I kept turning around to hear the piano and tenor sax. They are both unbelievable! What else can I say, a relative of Melissa ' s who's from Long Island New York took a business card. She said I live 4 hours away and wanted something to remember the band with. I guarantee that 99.9% of the people won't remember what they had for dinner but will remember the band, even if we had fed them hot dogs with a side of sawdust! Estate! Groove Place is an amazing ten piece horn band, who can (and will) play any song under the sun, and will do so to perfection. We also hired them to do a 3-piece jazz ensemble for our cocktail hour, which added even more musical fun, especially since they played on a balcony over-looking the courtyard. During the reception, people were not even eating their dinners right away, but were going on the floor to dance. As soon as the parent dances were over, everyone jumped right onto the floor, and it stayed that way through the rest of the night. People were sad when the night was over! Dana will listen very carefully to what you say as you plan the night out, and will deliver everything as promised. They do a wonderful job with master of ceremonies duties. I cannot say enough, and neither could our guests, as all loved the night and all the great dancing Groove Place brought to our wedding! They will also do ancillary requests, like providing a mic and speaker for the ceremony, if it is on-site. Highly recommend Groove Place for your big day!!!

anding. Dana, the manager, was personable, flexible, and very cooperative. Our family and friends love to dance, so having the right band was very important to us. All of our guests raved about Groove Place. The dance floor was packed the entire evening, The newlyweds rarely left the dance floor; our daughter did come over to us in the middle of one song just to tell us how supremely happy she was! At one point in the evening, we had a severe storm. Water poured in the tent, and the band was unable to use any electrical equipment. The horn section kept playing while we brought towels to mop up the water. No one in the band complained, and as soon as the storm passed, Groove Place had the place jumping again. If you love to dance, you cannot go wrong with Groove Place. We are all racking our brains to think of an excuse to have them here again as soon as possible!

They were even willing to learn a new song for us to play at the reception. In a heartbeat we would recommend Groove Place to anyone having a wedding or big party!

. We listened to about 10 different groups perform and decided to go with Groove Place. From day one, the band leader Dana was excellent to communicate with, responded promptly to emails, requests, etc. We skyped with Dana about a month prior to the wedding, went through our "gotta have it" list of songs. The band learned our entrance song (Bad Case of Lovin' You) and KILLED IT! The male lead singer did a fabulous job MCing. From the moment the band started the reception was electric! The dance floor was filled with not only the 30 something crowd, but our parents and family friends of all ages were non-stop on the dance floor! (We even had so many people up at one point, people were dancing on the carpeted areas surrounding the dance floor.) From your classic Sinatra standards, to 80s rock, to Top 40 hits they continually nailed every number. We had one couple, who weren't really the dancing type, stay to the end and tell us they were sticking around because they were enjoying the show. A versatile 11-piece horn band with two amazing lead singers and a great vibe-- you will not be disappointed! We had so many people comment on how awesome the band was and how they made this one of the best weddings ever! (To which I agree--I'm not biased at all on that note.) We highly recommend Groove Place!
