Haiku Mill

Haiku Mill was an amazing venue for our wedding but this review is really based on the experience we had with our wedding planner, Chelsea Scheffer. The Mill speaks for itself and earns 5 stars the moment you step foot on property, but Chelsea is the one who made our dreams come true. Her attention to detail is second to none. It was very stressful planning a wedding during Covid but Chelsea was on top of everything keeping us updated with ever changing state and venue guidelines. I would have given her 5 stars a month into the planning process, but the work she did leading up to the event and most importantly on the day of, was nothing short of amazing. I had no idea how much of an impact she would have on the actual day of the wedding, and we’re forever grateful for having her on our side. Highest level of recommendation from these happy newlyweds.

Haiku Mill exceeded our expectations for a quaint but beautiful ceremony. The venue surpassed my imagination in just hows beautiful it is. The pictures do it no justice. Taylor was our wedding planner and incredibly helpful and easy to work with. She took time on her weekend of to help us when a hurricane threatened to hit Maui just days before our wedding. Taylor and Haiku mill we will be back for future events we loved our experience so much.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This wedding venue was the most unbelievable place I have ever been to. My husband and I got married here in January, and to say our wedding day was perfect is an understatement. From the unbelievably beautiful the grounds, to the amazing staff at Haiku, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Chelsea and her team at Haiku Mill went above and beyond to make sure our day went smoothly and perfectly. Even the planning with Chelsea was amazing - I would just need to tell her what I was visioning, and she made sure it came to life, from choosing the vendors for us, pricing everything out for us and being in constant communication (even after giving birth to her son earlier than expected) she made sure that we had everything we needed to ensure a magical day!! All of our guests could not believe how amazing Haiku was and to this day, still tell us we had the best wedding they have ever been to. Thank you for such an amazing wedding day or for making all my bridal dreams come true!!

Our wedding planner, Chelsea, was a true rockstar. She consistently encouraged our creativity while seamlessly keeping us focused on the task of creating an IMMENSELY DETAILED destination wedding in just six months. On our one chance to visit the island before the wedding, Chelsea was able to set up meetings with every single potential vendor we could have wanted. To be able to get done what we did in that one short four day weekend, her organization was completely on point. Additionally, even better than punctual, she was early to everything! We could always count on her, clipboard in hand, to be the first to greet us at whatever meeting or interview with vendors we had. Of course, living off-island, the vast majority of the planning for our wedding took place over the phone or email. Chelsea was consistently available, consistently present, and consistently a driving force behind getting the wedding we truly wanted. When we were told the unique and specific seating chart deign we wanted to help create the theme and feel of our wedding couldn’t be done through normal channels, Chelsea sussed out alternative vendors who could deliver our request and found someone who could bring our idea to life. When it seemed impossible to do within a realistic budget, Chelsea and the rest of the Pua Lea & Co. Team worked for weeks to find a solution. The by-product of their work incorporated our gorgeous venue as a backdrop and inspiration from the original example we asked for. It was even better than we had hoped and was absolutely stunning. Similarly, her persistence led to her convincing our much sought after pastor (Pia) to minister our wedding, despite the fact he had a schedule conflict and previously had turned down the request on multiple occasions. We also had several significant last minute changes to our wedding, ranging from modified guest counts affecting layout and transportation all the way down to what bread we ended up choosing. She was on top of it all. She was a very calming influence when we maybe weren’t always so calm. Her dedication extended well beyond expectation as we found her calling and emailing us to finalize details for our wedding just one day after she had given birth to her new baby boy. (She is definitely a ‘Type A’ personality when it comes to getting things done, as you’ll see by the very early time stamps on her frequent emails. We sometimes wondered if she ever slept.) Gracious and good natured, Chelsea’s affable personality made her enjoyable to be around over the phone and in person. Along the planning process, we came to think of her as a good friend. So much so, that when she was unable to attend our wedding due to the unexpected early birth of her child, we missed having her like we would miss one of our own family. (Fortunately, she took copious amounts of notes to pass on to her team and was on the phone constantly with the team the day of our wedding so they wouldn’t miss a beat.) We are so thankful to have had Chelsea as our wedding planner. We couldn’t imagine having anyone else plan our wedding. She is spectacular. Even more, she was a total badass.
