Our entire process—from our initial tour to our wedding day—was so well planned and coordinated. Before the wedding, we had timely and clear communication from Dawn & Serina, had the opportunity to try the food before we selected a menu, and worked to make sure we were set for success. The day of the wedding, everyone was kind, professional, and so incredibly helpful. I had multiple people remark that any messes were cleaned up before anyone could say anything, and the food was some of the best wedding food they’ve had. We looked at a number of venues online/in person before touring HOK, and never fell in love because of the insane costs, hassle of coordinating caterers, or the pressure to have a massive & expensive wedding. We had a smaller ceremony (60) and added 45 to the reception & it flowed perfectly.
Ultimately we loved HOK for the speakeasy vibes, great communication before the event, the amazing food, and the team that made our day feel perfect. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a small/mid-size wedding that feels like they just want to be together with the people they love most and celebrate.
We had an amazing time. Everything, from the minute I walked into the bridal suite, to the final load out, went so smoothly. I had so many guests compliment the food, some said it was the best fillet they'd ever had! And, of course, so many compliments on how unique and beautiful and cozy the space was. 10/10 overall. Thanks to Dawn, Serina and the whole staff for such a special night.
We had the most magical and perfect experience with Dawn and the Hall of Kings! From the initial tour to the tasting, to detail coordination meetings and the rehearsal to the actual day - Dawn (and Serina) were really great to work with and absolutely vital to helping our experience be as smooth as possible. Our wedding day so perfect and absolutely everything we could have ever hoped or asked for.
I will never stop recommending this vendor and wedding venue.
Any questions?
We used the Hall of Kings for our rehearsal dinner and loved it! Dawn and Serina were incredibly helpful with planning our event, setting our menu, and communicating what was needed every step of the way. During the event, the staff was so friendly and attentive. Wait staff was alert to guests finishing their meals and quickly cleared plates as well as promptly brought out dessert. The bartenders were incredible. After the initial rush as guests arrived, we had little to no lines for the rest of the evening and the drinks were made to perfection. We had the plated meal and everything was delicious. Between the meal and the ambiance / decor we had a number of guests tell us what a great venue the Hall of Kings was!
We had a fantastic experience with HoK. They were very communicative and never made us feel pressured or rushed in any of our decisions. I was really nervous about the timeline of our wedding and if things would work out the way I envisioned, but Serina really alleviated our worries. Her experience went a long way, and both she and Dawn had some excellent ideas to help the day go off without a hitch. The venue itself was incredible-- we loved the medieval influence in the Hall especially, and we got raving reviews from our guests all night about the food we had (Fillet, salmon and acorn squash.) Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Hall of Kings was a great space for our wedding! We had ~120 guests and it fit the group nicely. I loved the darker/underground vibe that didn't call for much decoration! The back drop of downtown Minneapolis and the river was amazing for pictures. The food was amazing, we went for the taco bar and everyone loved the food! There is a nice stage for a dance floor and easy set up for a DJ or for you to plug in your own music. The entry/bar area was perfect for guests & never got too crowded.
Dawn, Serina, and Shane were very helpful with the tours and planning for the big day! Highly recommend!!
This was an incredible venue to have our rehearsal/ Grooms Dinner. This is a hidden gem and was the perfect space to host 40- 50 people. The vibe is charming, the staff is extremely friendly, and the food exceeded all our expectations. Do yourself a favor and check out Hall of Kings if you are looking to have a welcome/ rehearsal dinner.
My husband and I could not be more thrilled with our overall experience with the staff and customer service at the HOK in Minneapolis! We have gotten SO many compliments from all of our guests about the taco barre food and venue space. We HIGHLY recommend the taco barre option as it allows for a fun buffet option with food that is not as common at weddings. The food was flavorful, spicy, and there was plenty of food for all of our guests (we had 100 total)! Since we didn’t have a wedding coordinator, I wanted to make sure that everything would be absolutely perfect and according to my vision. Because of this, I was able to book a walk-through about one month before the big-day just to go through the space again and go over last-minute details in-person rather than via email. Lots of our questions were answered by Shane Aaron who was extremely helpful with modifications and guest accommodations that needed to be made. In particular, one of our guests with autism only eats cheeseburgers, which JEFE Cocina’s kitchen does not prepare, so on the day-of the wedding Shane personally ordered and delivered a cheeseburger to our guest. This was so sweet and amazing for Shane to have done! On the day-of, we were so grateful to have had Dawn Kuehl as our day-of coordinator and Shawn as our banquet captain. Again, since I was a bride on a budget, all of the decorating was done by me and my bridal party (rather than a wedding coordinator or florist). Although the venue space doesn’t need much decor, we added greenery, table-numbers, and a centerpiece with lights to all of the tables. We also made a DIY photobooth in the coat closet and put flower arrangements throughout the indoor and outdoor space. There was also a beautiful wedding arch outside that we decorated with wooden flowers. The venue space was able to accommodate our early arrival time to set-up the space prior to getting ready in the absolutely GORGEOUS Hepburn Suite. Ladies, if you have the chance, book that getting-ready room! It was such an experience for everyone in my bridal party to be in that space together and we were able to use the room the entire evening so we could store our belongings in there. Both Dawn and Shawn did such a wonderful job assisting throughout the day/evening to make sure things were going according to my vision and schedule. Additionally, the wait staff did a wonderful job as well making sure my husband and I always had something to drink and food on our plate. As an added bonus, we were able to pay with a check at the end of the evening, so we received a 3% discount. If you’re looking for an intimate venue space for your wedding, the HOK is your go-to with EXCEPTIONAL staff, food, and venue space. My husband and I are so happy with our overall experience with the HOK! We are looking forward to eating at JEFE Cocina for years to come and remembering our special day we had there :)
Response from the Vendor on 09/12/2023
Thanks so much Samantha for this wonderful review! Please drop me a note when you come to Jefe Cocina, I want to say hi :)
Thanks,
Dawn
Oh my goodness! This place is an absolute dream. We can't say enough about this venue and the staff! Every step of the way they were super on the ball and answered all of our questions (even the annoying ones!). The entire team was super helpful in all of the planning. Here's the thing - Not a ton of planning has to go into this space because by itself is absolutely incredible. Needs very minimal decor, but what is already there and part of the venue - is the right amount. The food? Best wedding food i've ever had and that was echoed by many guests. The filet was like butter in my mouth, the fish was incredible, and the salad was also top notch. The hall of kings has a stage which fit our 7 piece band perfectly! We had a guest count of 78 and that felt intimate yet spacious at the same time. Having access to the courtyard on a beautiful summer night was an added bonus. I barely even knew staff was around except for the main contact person checking in with me on occasion. The food was just there, perfectly laid out. The bartenders were so great and people never had to wait in line for drinks. If you're looking for an intimate venue in the heart of MPLS, look no further. If you are looking for something else....stop....this place is so fantastic and the team is wonderful to work with. You won't regret having your celebration here!
Buckle up, this is going to be the five-est five-star review of all time. I can’t possibly say enough good things about my wedding at Hall of Kings. For the rental price, I think it’s pretty much impossible to find a better wedding experience in Minneapolis.
Let’s start with the basics. It’s a beautiful space that requires very little additional décor to make it feel incredibly special. We had 109 guests and it was just about the perfect size for that group (I wouldn’t recommend it for more than about 120). Sam, the venue coordinator we worked with was very responsive and helpful. Everyone we ever spoke to was very relaxed and flexible we never felt pressured to make certain decisions. Based on other reviews, we were very excited about the food and it didn’t disappoint. Hands down the best wedding meal I’ve ever had. Everyone loved the specialty drinks too!
The price is incredibly reasonable for what they offer. It’s a one-stop shop in terms of the bar and catering, so you don’t have to wrangle outside bartenders or catering services. You need to arrange your own décor setup if you bring in your own, but that’s standard across most wedding venues, and HOK provides votive candles as well as all tables, chairs, and tableware and they set up everything they own themselves. The Hepburn suite was also gorgeous!!
If you’re thinking about bringing your own music to your wedding and skipping the DJ, this is the spot for you. They have a great sound system with microphones all ready to go and a soundproofed stage for the dance floor. All we had to do was plug my phone into an aux cord and people literally danced all night. The dancefloor also has alternating colored lighting that makes it feel like a party!
Beyond that, the staff went out of their way to make everything easy and fun for us. The venue coordinator we’d been working with transferred to a different venue a month before our wedding, and I was very worried about being assigned someone new. But our day-of coordinator Shane was the MVP of the day!! He let us move our cocktail hour indoors into the empty venue next door when it looked like it would be too cold to host it outdoors. He made setup incredibly smooth for my vendors. He arranged to have sparkling wine and a cooler of water brought to the bridal suite as soon as my bridesmaids and I arrived. He was unobtrusive during the cocktail hour and reception while still helping me make announcements and set up the music. We hadn’t arranged table drink service, but servers made sure that we at the head table had everything we needed all night. Seriously just incredible, incredible service way beyond what I could have imagined!! These people genuinely care about making your day the best it can possibly be, and I know for a fact that that isn’t the case at every venue.
I can’t recommend Hall of Kings highly enough. Deserves 10 stars!! Thank you for the best day of my life!!
We had my daughter's rehearsal dinner for about 50 guests and then a welcome party for another 100+ guests at Hall of Kings. I would say that the space is very nice and the food was appetizing. However, there were a couple of things you should know about our experience there.
One concern I had about the evening was regarding to the bar service. We opted to have an open bar and not purchase the drink package since many invitees were either light drinkers are choose not to drink at all. However, I noticed during the evening that the bartenders were not ringing up the drinks or even writing down what was consumed. I spoke to the manager about this inquiring how this was being tabulated. The manager then must have said something to the two bartenders, because I then saw them randomly just entering drinks about 20 at a time into the register. At the end of the evening the manager boasted that my beverage bill was only a few hundred dollars more than the estimate. It led me to believe that they just pad the numbers to be a bit more than the estimate and the customer cannot complain because it is "close" to the prediction. This seems like BS and left me feeling like I was being ripped off by this organization.
The other aspect of the evening that went poorly, was related to the video I had spent weeks editing to honor my daughter and her soon to be husband. We paid extra for a video monitor, which was fine. Because I wanted everything to go smoothly with regard to the playing of the video, I even came to the site hours beforehand to meet with management and make sure everything was set. Apparently the iPad that operates the system was stolen the evening before, so getting the audio working didn't go smoothly and I was glad I had the foresight to come in early. I had to leave before it was operating properly, but I was assured it was via message later that afternoon. When I got to the dinner, I checked with management and was assured it was all set. However, then the day manager had to leave and told me the night manager was a pro for operating the equipment. This was not the case. I introduced the movie to the crowd and had everyone move closer to the monitor, as the facility has only one medium-sized monitor. To everyone's dismay, the manager couldn't find the file. Uncomfortable minutes passed while he searched and searched.... Once the file was found, he started the movie in the middle of it and the sound level was so high everyone gasped and had to hold their ears. This was so disappointing as I had spent so much time preparing this movie and it really ruined the night for me having it so screwed up by management.
Anyhow, the ambience and food were good, but I would not recommend this venue based on our experience there.
Hall of Kings made our day relatively easy to plan since all the food/beverage is in house and there is an event coordinator walking you through everything. We also saved money and time on decorations since the venue itself is so beautiful. Our guests could not stop complimenting the food - it was the best wedding food we have ever had. Everyone including us had such a fun time. There was a hiccup with payment at the end of the night; we reached out to the owners after the fact and they went above and beyond to make it right and guaranteed it would not happen to anyone else in the future. We would not have changed a thing about the night! It was such a blast.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception here on 10/15/22 and it was perfect! The venue is absolutely beautiful and provides a cozy atmosphere. And the food was so good! We did the taco barre and we received so many compliments from our guests telling us it was the best wedding food they ever had. The staff was also great. Sam K. was so helpful and timely answered all of our questions and made sure everything was perfect for us. He was thorough and so easy to work with! We also rented the Hepburn Bridal Suite which was GORGEOUS and perfect for getting ready in! I definitely recommend this venue to anyone considering having their wedding here!
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Hall of Kings on 9/24/22 and it was wonderful. The venue coordinator, Sam, was a pleasure to work with and was extremely responsive to my and my family's questions (and trust me, there were a LOT of them.) He was also very helpful when we had to navigate a small hiccup in the day of due to the weather (we had planned to have the ceremony outside but it started raining shortly before the ceremony was set to begin.) With his assistance we were able to make a game time decision about the ceremony location and the day went off without a hitch. We had appetizers, the premium buffet and a mini dessert bar. The food was delicious and the bartenders were skilled and efficient. The venue itself is beautiful and has a lot of character. The space does not need a lot of additional decor to look wedding-ready which allowed us to save on time and costs related to decorating the space. The venue location right on the river is great for photos as well. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the venue and the food. Hall of Kings helped us make our wedding day better than we ever could have imagined.
While the venue is beautiful and the actual wedding went well, I can't fully recommend the Hall of Kings. First of all, this place does not hold 200 people. We invited 150 and luckily with covid we had closer to 130 because it was packed at that number. Another issue with this place is that the bill is convoluted. Because this is somewhat of a one-stop shop for the wedding, at the end of the night, the bill for everything is given, including room fees, service fees, cake, etc, without a clear breakout of the food and beverage total. I had my mom sign the final bill for me so when she went to tip the staff, she tipped 20% on the entire total of the wedding instead of just the food and liquor, which obviously was a significant amount more. Both of those issues I could deal with, but my main gripe with this place is the event staff. I don’t mean the waitstaff and bartenders during the actual event, they were fantastic. I mean the people helping up until the wedding day. We planned our wedding initially in 2021 and had to reschedule due to covid and they were very understanding and transferred to another date. However, in that time, the venue changed event coordinators. The new coordinator was very hard to get ahold of and took days to respond to emails. I had one 15 min call with him ever, even after attempting to call on several occasions. A lot of our decisions were also lost in the transfer. I had to re-pick food and go through everything again. He often did not take note of my requests, things like not dropping the number of appetizers and deciding to go with a fully open bar. He was also extremely unhelpful on the day of the wedding. I haven’t planned a wedding before, I assumed the event coordinator kinda helped set things up. I had minimal decorations: candles, table numbers, and seat cards. I had all of them brought to the venue and he asked me who would be setting it up, I guess I am! He proceeded to watch my sister and me, in full hair and makeup, run around the hall putting everything out. I don’t know if this one is on me, but make expectations of your role clear. Then to top it all off, I had a nice rug as the aisle runner and they either lost it or someone stole it after the wedding, and once again the event coordinator was unhelpful and pretty rude about it. All in all, the wedding was great, with delicious food, but the event staff caused more stress than they were worth leading up to it.
We absolutely loved this venue! Working with Jamie made our lives so much easier. She was always prompt with her responses to our many questions, and made us feel like we were a top priority. We did the Taco Barre for our meal, and it was incredible! The guests could not stop talking about how great the food was. We ended up with 164 guests and it was a little cozy, but really not bad at all. Can't say enough good things about Hall of Kings!
I CANNOT say enough good things about my experience with the Hall of Kings. From the first tours to the end of the wedding night; every single person we worked with was fantastic. These guys had to deal with the ever-changing COVID regulations and made it look easy. Everyone loved the space and the food and drink. A great time was had by all!
Having our wedding at the Hall of Kings was THE best decision we could've made for our special day. I had always heard that planning a wedding is a part to full time job but that was not my experience at all. Jamie and team made it so easy to plan out the day and, most importantly, to have a stress-free experience day-of. The venue was intimate and beautiful, the food and drinks amazing, and staff were all friendly and accommodating!
My wedding at the hall of kings was amazing! Jamie the director of events was great from beginning to end. She was responsive and answered all of the questions I had. On the day of the wedding she was there helping out our day of coordinators and vendors to ensure everything ran smooth. Venue, food and beverages were all together so it made working with one vendor so simple. We rented the extra bridal party suites for the brides maids and groomsmen which were beautiful for pictures and getting ready. I only wish there was a little more signage in the building so guests knew better where to go to enter and leave the venue.
Our wedding at Hall of Kings was incredible! We made the decision to change our venue 4 months before our wedding date and we are SO glad we did! Jamie and Serina were amazing to work with, fun, easy-going, knowledgeable, and professional. From the day we met with Jamie and saw the space, I was in love. It was so intimate, cozy, warm and charming. It was exactly what we were looking for. On top of the amazing service from Jamie and Serina, the rest of the staff was fantastic. On the day, the staff were professional, personable, attentive and easy-going, the whole day went off without a hitch. Also, I can’t say enough about the food. The food was absolutely delicious, our guests couldn’t say enough! The quality was unmatched. We would definitely recommend HOK as a wedding or event venue! I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you for an incredible day that we will never forget!
I am a Minnesota-based Event Planner and I just worked my first wedding at Hall of Kings on 10/30/2020 and had such a wonderful experience! Not only is the venue stunning and the location unmatched, the staff was hands down incredible and such an amazing partner through the whole wedding process and on the day-of. I would highly recommend having your event at this wonderful venue!
Excellent choice for an easy-going, romantic wedding with the BEST food
We married at Hall of Kings Sept 18th and we're really happy with all aspects- the venue, staff, service, food, and price. The venue is stunning and has a really cozy vibe.
We had an original date at the end of March and had to reschedule due to COVID. Jamie and the staff were really understanding of the situation and helped us navigate the restrictions and plan our new date.
We really appreciated the flexibility and accomodations made to ensure guests were comfortable and safe. Jamie is great to work with -- She was there to answer all of our questions and the restaurant staff treated us so well too.
The venue rental was less than comparable spaces and the food and beverage prices were fair. We were pleased with the transparency with the estimate and were at ease about the expenses.
We held a ceremony in the courtyard and the reception was split between the courtyard and Hall of Kings. The courtyard tucked next to Hideaway burger bar is really charming in the fall. We sat many of our friends outside for dinner to safely distance guests (80-85 people in total) and it worked well. We had some confusion about how to dismiss the tables for the buffet between the courtyard and HOK but this was resolved quickly.
The taco barre is not to be missed. Everyone LOVED it. So many of our friends and family raved about the food and told us it was definitely the best they'd ever had at a wedding. The staff brought us plates & my husband and I both ate a full dinner. The margaritas were also a huge crowd pleaser.
My husband and I are thrilled with how our wedding day turned out in a really challenging year. We are so grateful to Jamie and the team who worked with us to make it unforgettable.
Working with Jamie and Serina of JEFE Urban Cocina was a pleasure! We had a lot of hurdles to get over, with long-distance planning, hectic schedules, and the legal and health restrictions of COVID-19. We were kept up-to-date on the necessary changes, and we were even moved into an alternate room in order to accommodate our group. The tasting was incredible: the food samples were so delicious, it almost made it harder to finalize our menu. It was so helpful to have this opportunity to sample the food and ask all of our questions. The staff was incredible during the tasting and the actual Rehearsal Dinner event. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food, the team, and the event exceeded our expectations!
Having a wedding is stressful enough, but Jamie and the staff at Hall of Kings made the day go off without a hitch. They solved problems before i even got wind of them and realized they were problems! From helping us navigate planning a wedding to accommodate social distancing, to coming through with last-minute fixes for my own planning failures, Hall of Kings really pulled off a magical event. And don’t even get me started on the food. Our guests still can’t stop talking about the short rib tacos and the chips and salsa! The only thing I’m unhappy about is that i can’t relive my wedding again, honestly.
Our winter wedding in the Hall of Kings was the perfect venue- cozy & personal - and fit our personalities so well! We heard only awesome compliments about the chef and the food (the steak - everyone was in love!), the cupcakes, and the amazing servers! We opted to use their patio space for a cozy fire and a s'more & hot cocoa bar. It was a special touch and made even our California guests happy! The individuals who helped keep the fire going during the night were saints- their enthusiasm exuded even when they looked so cold! We also used the gorgeous bridal suite to get ready - it was dreamy! With beautiful couches, chairs, and wonderful natural lighting and a view of the river, we could not have asked for a better place to get ready and spend time with friends before the event. I would highly recommend it! Lastly, Jamie was fantastic to work with- her effort, time, and patience helped us feel at ease and she never judged any of our ideas. We are so grateful that we got to enjoy a wonderful night with our friends and family in a perfect Minneapolis spot!
The Hall of Kings at Jefe is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our winter wedding. We had a great experience working with everyone at Jefe and didn't ever feel stressed working with them! All of our guests loved the venue as well and the FOOD and DRINKS! Perfection!
*If you're a queer couple, they are great to work with as well. We asked if we could put All Gender Bathroom signs on the bathrooms in the venue and they were more than happy to accommodate. It meant a lot to us that all of our guests could be comfortable on our big day.*
As the proud parents of the groom, and living out of state, my wife Cindy and I were really motivated to find the ideal venue for our son Steve’s rehearsal dinner. Originally Steve and Anna thought the Aster Café would be a great option, but it was not available. Instead, we found an even better, sister property called the Hall of Kings below Jefe’s Urban Hacienda which turned out to be absolutely perfect! Especially since our last name is Stark, and the venue reflected a classy, Game of Thrones type vibe!
Working with Jamie Jones was a complete delight, as she is organized, efficient, easy-going, personable, professional and simply fun to be around! She gave us a most valuable gift – peace of mind – to know that every detail would be taken care of, and each of our nearly 100 guests would get to enjoy a truly fabulous evening.
The tasting dinner was amazing, and our biggest problem was trying to narrow our selections. But that we did, and everyone raved about our choices. We were granted easy access to the beautiful facility that afternoon in early October to place flower arrangements and walk through the sound system for my father of the groom speech.
Our guests started to arrive around 5pm and were treated to a spacious and welcoming bar area to quench their thirst, while enjoying delicious appetizers passed around by the lovely staff, all dressed in stylish black. The cucumber and jicama skewers, tostones with avocado, and bacon wrapped dates were all big hits! The premium buffet was fabulous, and everyone raved about the flank steak with cilantro lime rice, roasted seasonal vegetables, and the camarones con ajo with Spanish rice. The dessert station was killer good, and our guests happily devoured the salted caramel macarons, mini apple pies, key lime dessert shooters and mini black velvet cupcakes. Simply outstanding!
Special thanks to the Banquet Captain Joel, who was present the whole evening and proactively made sure that everything went smoothly and without a hitch – Joel was simply awesome!
All in all, this was one of the most magical and memorable nights of our lives, surrounded by all of our dear family members and closest friends. Most sincere thanks to Jamie, Joel and all of the wonderful staff at the Hall of Kings for completely surpassing our high expectations!
My husband and I fall in love with the Hall of Kings when we were touring venues. The venue was not decorated when we toured it but we both loved the intimacy and warmth of the venue and the “old Minneapolis” charm.
LOCATION - Saint Anthony’s Main is bustling in the summer with its amazing views of downtown Minneapolis - our photos were great!
Matthew and I had our ceremony on the patio by the Hideaway. We were both a little nervous about sharing a patio with Hideaway patrons, however, the patrons were great, and the patio was picturesque for our ceremony, red umbrellas, picnic tables, and all.
The Hall of Kings for the ceremony was breathtaking. The hall was amazing without any decorations but with white linen, greens and candlelight it was beautiful. My family loves speeches and we could hear all of them clearly even with a crying baby. We used the little sitting area as our Photo Booth and captured some great memories.
The bridal suit was spacious with tall ceiling and lots of nature light which my makeup artist loved.
FOOD - Before we committed to the venue, we asked if the chef could accommodate a halal meat for the menu. The chef ensured that this wasn’t an issue: he did his research got back to us and was able to provide an amazing meal which all our guest could enjoy, even my guests with a gluten allergy.
On the day of the reception, the food was delicious. The steak option, which was a popular meal choice for our guests, was warm and well cooked.
Jamie also on the fly was able to accommodate a last-minute request to have some appetizers brought to the head table.
STAFF - The staff at the Hall of King were attentive and present, and always available for questions or concerns.
JAMIE - was AMAZING!!! She took over mid-way through our planning process and all our stresses were relieved. As soon as we reached out to Jamie, she responded timely, made some excellent suggestions, was available for any questions, coordinated with the rest of our vendors for the day off and was there for the rehearsal. When I needed to get into the bridal suite earlier than I anticipated, she was at the venue and ready for my bridal party and I.
My husband and I had an amazing experience for our wedding.
Jamie was amazing!! Our day went smoothly and everyone loved the food. We booked the venue when it was still under construction and Jamie started a few months before our wedding so there were some communication issues toward the beginning but after Jamie got involved everything went amazingly! The staff was all very professional and helpful, I never had to ask for anything or worry about anything day of. The location is so beautiful and the vibe was exactly what we wanted. Everything was perfect!
We first looked at this venue before it was completely finished and fell in love. It’s in one of the oldest buildings in Minneapolis (a former mattress factory), and it has brick walls with a ton of really unique iron work. Think romantic Game of Thrones-vibe, minus the Red Wedding. Delicious food (we did a taco bar with some passed apps) that my guests raved about. The location in St. Anthony Main is great for showing off the city, and we lucked out getting the night of the Aquatennial Fireworks - amazing free entertainment for the guests!
Our wedding experience with Jefe was fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone and everyone! We've received so many compliments on the food, the venue was the perfect location for photographs, and the service was incredible. Jamie was absolutely UNREAL. Working with her was beyond anything we could have imagined and honestly made our entire wedding day. Her ability to anticipate needs and deliver (many times before you even form the question in your head) was top-top-top notch. Multiple members of our wedding party brought up how amazing she was throughout the day. I've never worked with someone who acts with urgency but constantly has a calm demeanor.
We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Hall of Kings. It was perfect! Our planning started with Victoria. She was knowledgeable, helpful and knew how to work within our budget. Her suggestions and information guided us to have a great plan well in advance of our wedding. We were assigned to Jamie to complete our planning and she was so wonderful and easy to work with. She too is friendly, knowledgeable, organized, helpful and a hard worker. She was reassuring ,dependable and always available to answer any questions. The staff that worked at our wedding were courteous, helpful and efficient. Our guests noticed that right away and told us many times how impressed they were by the staff. The food was excellent and delicious. Once again, our guests raved about this. It was presented in such a beautiful way. My family has deep roots in NE Minneapolis and this venue captures that. It is simply, the most beautiful spot to have a wedding and reception at. It is stunning !! The century old building has so much charm and character from the limestone walls to the thick beefy timbers. The lighting in the venue is soft and elegant. It has an elegant bar area that works well for a reception spot . They have an assortment of tables and chairs that can give you a quaint spot to sit or stand at. The space begs you to linger and enjoy yourself in a unique atmosphere. The staff were very efficient at turning the wedding space into dining space very quickly. There are several designs for how to arrange the dinning tables. There is space for dancing too. What I loved about this event space the most was how lovely the space looked on its own without a lot of embellishment. That is what I personally was looking for. I found and enjoyed the natural beauty and history I was looking for at the Hall of Kings. You need to see this space in person and be willing to be enchanted. Our guests loved this space and most never knew it existed. It is a sweet gem that begs to be found and enjoyed. That is what we wanted and what we got! It looks expensive, but I knew it was affordable after meeting Victoria and Jamie. I feel our wedding money was well spent! I'm so happy that Hall of Kings was able to help me have the wedding of my dreams. My only regret, I wish the night didn't end so soon and I wish I could do it all over again ! Thank You Jamie, Chef and all the event staff! This place is perfect!
If I could give 10,000 stars I would. The event space is breath taking. Victoria and the staff do amazing work. I would trust Victoria to plan anything - she’s professional, knowledgeable and the top planner in the industry. The space is new, clean, beautiful! We loved the mid evil vibe with handmade tables and stone walls. Working with them was a dream and communication was excellent. Stop looking and book them!
everything was wonderful, but a little crowded, would not reccomend for over 125

I’m a Minnesota girl with a heart full of wanderlust, and I’ve been fortunate to see a lot of the beauty this world has to offer. My favorite part of traveling has always been the heartbeat of each city; its people, its unique story. That's why my favorite part of a wedding is you - your heart, and your unique story. My goal is ensuring that on your wedding day you can focus on that beautiful story, and let me handle the rest. I’m a wife, mother to two boys, and when I’m not planning events I can be found chasing sunsets on the water.
