About this vendor
This well-appointed municipally-run venue features artfully landscaped grounds and views of the Hickory Point Golf Course. Guests will have no trouble finding lodging in nearby Decatur.
The ballroom boasts a soaring cathedral ceiling, large windows that let in tons of natural light, and a flexible floor plan that can suit events of any size.
We absolutely love the Pavilion—this fully-covered space features a gently peaked roof, brick accents, and "walls" made from weather-resistant screening that create an awesome indoor/outdoor feel.

The venue was perfect for our outdoor wedding. However communication was absolutely terrible. I booked our date in Sept and we got married the following Aug. Every time I called to...
make a payment, the office had no idea who I was or what I owed because the director never created a invoice. Several texts were sent during business hours and I’d never get responses. HOWEVER they really came through day of making the venue beautiful. Communication is a 1star but day of they came through so 5. That’s why I gave them a 3. Maybe I just had a bad time but I hope others have a better experience
We just celebrated our daughter's wedding and reception at the HPGC facilities. The pavillion was the perfect place for an outdoor ceremony - covered, lights, great breeze/air flo...
w. The banquet facility is lovely. The staff was very accommodating from the day we started planning to the final clean-up. We couldn't have been more happy that we chose HPGC.
Our 10/30/21 wedding at Hickory Point was absolutely beautiful! The natural beauty of the golf course made for some awesome photos and videos. The pavilion was a gorgeous space to ...
hold our ceremony- the lights, the white chairs, the brick…so pretty! Not to mention they have wind blockers to keep guests nice and warm during the chilly months! The reception hall is also beautiful. We were able to decorate it to fit our vision- but it honestly didn’t need much because of its natural beauty. The event coordinators are wonderful to work with and helped in whatever way they could leading up to the event. Another added bonus was the price- you can’t beat it!! I would highly recommend Hickory Point!
Our ceremony and reception was under the pavilion and everything was perfect even after it rained all day.
Our lawn ceremony and pavilion reception were perfect. The staff was friendly even though they were working in 85+ degrees. I just wish they weren't cleaning up dinner so soon and ...
throwing away peoples drinks before they were finished! Other than that, Kevin (the event coordinator) was great to work with and the food was awesome.
The outdoor pavilion was very nice and the food provided by the vendors for the reception was perfect.
We planned an outdoor wedding at the golf course, and when we got there for our tasting a few months before the wedding, the trees where we were going to have the wedding were cut ...
down. It took some doing to find another location on the course but we did. Then we got rained out and had to have the ceremony inside anyway. The staff at the golf course were very helpful and accommodating. The food was great and everything went off without a hitch.
Everything was wonderful!! The staff was very professional, and took very good care of us the whole evening. The food was excellent, nothing could have made this night better. I al...
so have been to a few wedding receptions since and they all have been great!! I would recommend this venue to everyone!!
Our reception was perfect! Since it was near Christmas, they had trees, wreaths and garland up that looked amazing!! The food was very good and the staff was very professional and ...
easy to work with!!
Please, just don't do it. I went through 3 coordinators with the site due to employee turnover - the most recent being 2 weeks before the wedding. I had to go over every detail w...
ith her again from square one. The food was great, but I killed an ant on the buffet table when we went through. The new coordinator didn't care though. The roof leaked a few days before the wedding and we only found out because we stopped by to deliver our final payment. I asked why we weren't notified and what they were doing to fix it (instead of the garbage can sitting in the middle of the dance floor to catch drips) and was told it wasn't worth worrying over and to drop it. We arrived that morning to decorate expecting to finally meet this new, third coordinator. She wasn't there and would not arrive until a few hours before the reception started. The carpet was horribly dirty, so we asked if they could vacuum it. She pulled it would of the closet, handed me the vacuum and told me to go do it. The staff was lazy and apathetic, at best. Kevin, the food manager, was a dream to work with when we first toured the site. After we booked the room I was handed over to these coordinators and never heard from Kevin again. Don't get me wrong, our reception was fantastic - no guest had a clue what all had gone wrong. It was just a lot of little things that added up that totally turned me off. The room is beautiful, it's such a same their staff and attitude are so ugly!
The staff here don't care about you or your guests. They were outright rude to everyone, myself included. The coordinator didn't care and offered nothing...not even an apology. The...
y closed the bar an hour early without asking, threw away food and drinks people were still eating or drinking (all night long, not just at the end of the night) Half of the details we went over with the coordinator were ignored (childrens plates were non existant, wine selection was null, etc. etc.) Since our wedding I have heard many, many people say the same things. Save your money and go somewhere else.
