Holly’s experience with wedding planning, her willingness to listen to our thoughts and share her ideas were key for our wedding day to be wonderful. During the rehearsal, wedding, and reception, her attention to detail was critical for every part of our day to be beautiful, fun and run smoothly. Events do not run smoothly by chance, and our wedding day was great in large part due to Holly’s detailed work, and her ability to communicate effectively with us and the vendors. The bride and groom, the bridal party, and the families were put at ease because of Holly’s professionalism and pleasant ability to make us all feel comfortable. Her knowledge and detail focus are key for her being a talented planner, but it is Holly’s personality and ability to communicate with the wedding party, families and vendors that allowed her to help make the ceremony and reception a day to remember.

We found Holly through the recommended vendor list from our venue (Kona Kai). The venue required at least a day-of coordinator, we wanted someone who has worked with our venue before, and I also wanted to explore getting a little bit more help than just day-of support. After doing initial inquiry calls with her and a couple other planners/coordinators, my choice was super easy to make. It was like a goldilocks moment, some planners too easy going and some too aggressive in their style, Holly was JUST RIGHT! I could tell from the beginning that she’d listen to us and what we wanted but also give suggestions or alternative ideas to help everything come together perfectly. After discussing the various offerings she provides, we went with a partial-planning package to get the extra support we were looking for. She did such an amazing job helping us narrow down all the vendors we needed and after each suggestion I trusted her more and more. She helped us find a DJ, florist, hair and makeup, lighting/drapery, etc. There are SO many wedding vendors out there, so having her trusted suggestions and that she knew would match our style, personality, and were available on our date was SO helpful and made going from day-of coordinator to partial planning SO worth it. She was always easy to communicate with, responding in a timely fashion and answering all of my questions. Her checklists and support resources kept me feeling confident that I was on track. She also has a graphic design team that helped us create all of our signage which was a huge help!!
When it came to the rehearsal and day-of coordination, Holly was phenomenal and I got positive feedback from our parents, bridal party, and everyone who was a key part of the day. She managed to wrangle our fun-loving (and sometimes not so good at listening) bridal party to practice the ceremony enough times that we all felt great about it but it wasn’t too much and didn’t take too long. She knew exactly how to prompt us all through it. The day-of the wedding, I had NO stress (and this is saying a lot as I am a chronically stressed person by nature) because I was so confident that Holly and her team and our amazing vendor team that she helped us to curate was going to make everything perfect and it was! Everything was set up beautifully and she was quick to respond and manage any last-minute details or concerns.
I would highly recommend hiring Holly for partial planning if you’re anything like me – have a vision but not sure how to execute it, want some help but mainly want to eliminate stress from planning, COULD do it yourself but don’t WANT to do it all yourself, and if you want to have an amazing wedding where you can TRULY ENJOY the entire day because you know it is taken care of.

We chose to have Month of wedding coordination with Holly. Holly was extremely responsive to answering questions in the months prior to the wedding as well as the month of the wedding. She is very detail oriented and took care of all the necessary behind the scenes details leading up to the wedding. Kriselle implemented Holly's plan on the day of the wedding and everything went so smoothly. I would highly recommend Holly and her team.
Holly was incredible! She was so organized and made sure our entire wedding ran smoothly. As a bride I knew everything was handled and I could just focus on enjoying the day. She was great with details, communicated well with us and our vendors and we were so happy with how the day went. I would definitely recommend her for any couple planning a wedding in San Diego!
WOW!!! Holly is amazing! From planning meetings, communicating with vendors, corralling family members for photos, and setting up the most beautiful decor, Holly was there through it all. The extra icing on the cake was when we had to find a new photographer a month out from the wedding and she made the whole process as smooth as possible!! Literally.. saving the day. If you're on the fence about getting a planner like we were, I would highly recommend you go for it. As a hands on Bride, there was a lot that was overwhelming those last few months and because of Holly, Nathan and I were able to relax, enjoy the process, and not stress. Holly was an exceptional wedding coordinator, and we couldn’t be happier with her service. From the very beginning, she was incredibly communicative, constantly checking in on us and asking if we had any questions or needed assistance. Holly was an amazing planner and coordinator. My husband and I both hate planning and we're ridiculously indecisive but Holly handled us like a complete champ. She was professional, extremely patient, flexible, understanding, and knowledgeable. She definitely kept us on track and was really down to earth. She was just what we needed--she was incredibly organized, offered a lot of ideas and suggestions, coordinated everything with the vendors, and made sure we were submitting all the paperwork/payments we needed to complete.
She completely guided us every step of the way and had great recommendations. We also got several discounts with vendors by booking through her. We're so glad we went with a planner and that she was able to coordinate everything on the day-of as well. Please giver her a call or shoot her an e-mail, you won't regret it!!
Tl;dr - hire Holly as your wedding planner!!! She was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. We did her full planning package, so she was with us from literally day 1 starting with helping us pick our venue. Having Holly really meant we could sit back and just let her guide us throughout the entire planning process — she told us when we needed to make what decision, and had amazing recommendations for each vendor. When it came to our wedding day, we truly felt no stress thanks to Holly and her team. They had everything handled perfect — our families were so impressed too! You can tell she’s done this a million times in the best way, but at the same time she makes everything a perfect fit for your specific wedding. And to top it all off, you use all the decor she already has on hand. Like I mentioned — if you’re thinking about it, hire Holly!! I can’t recommend her enough!
I can't recommend Holly enough! She was a huge, huge help for our wedding day and leading up to it. Her calm and professional demeanor is very reassuring and I always felt like our wedding was in good hands. Throughout planning she was super responsive and knew our venue really well (Darlington House). She coordinated our walkthrough and rehearsal with such professionalism. With our package, we were able to use a lot of the decor she has in her inventory which was so convenient — and looked great! I am amazed by how she was able to do all of our decor and coordinate the entire day without seeming to break a sweat. Truly impressive. And on top of that, a sweet and kind person. Hire Holly, you won't regret it!!
Holly was amazing and very helpful in coordinating our dream wedding. She reviewed all our vendor contracts, answered all of our questions in a timely manner, and connected with vendors when we were not able to do so. Holly was very thorough with the major and minor details in the planning process and day of process and was able to provide miscellaneous items for our wedding that we would not have thought to bring. Her assistant, Kimmy, was on top of place cards, guest lists, seating chart, etc. and both Holly and Kimmy helped our wedding day run smoothly. We would highly recommend Holly to help coordinate the wedding of your dreams.
We found Holly Kalkin’s company through our venue’s recommendation, we worked with Barb in the Phoenix area and she was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and timely. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding coordinator!
We booked Holly as our week of coordinator for our December wedding because our venue required it, and thank goodness they did and we found her!! She was an integral part of our day. I am such a planner & have a hard time letting go of things, but Holly had this calm but get things done demeanor that gave me all the confidence in her. As things were changing last min (as they do with weddings!) she was there fixing. The things I didn’t think to do until minutes before were already done. She also had great advice, a great eye for putting things together, and was just beyond organized. We even got comments from my parents and our bridal party about how helpful and on top of everything she was. I am so, so pleased we booked Holly and would make that decision 100x over!
We used Holly's partial planning service for our April wedding, and are so glad we did! We talked to a handful of wedding coordinators, but after each consultation I still felt overwhelmed. After talking to Holly I just felt calm, as if we could do the bare minimum in terms of choosing vendors, and making other choices, and our wedding would be great no matter what. We were planning our wedding from Portland and Holly was instrumental in organizing in-person planning meetings (tastings, engagement photos, etc.) when we were in town for a single weekend. I'm so glad we chose to work with Holly and her team for our wedding!

Our DJ got Covid the day before our wedding, and Rebecca resolved everything the same day. She didn't even tell me about it until she had a resolution. Holly Kalkin Weddings was fantastic! Holly has so much experience with wedding coordinating and planning. Working with her was incredibly smooth. She’s there to answer all of your questions and she brings up details you wouldn’t immediately think of. The day of our wedding she improvised some specific details we hadn’t discussed and everything came together perfectly! I chose the month of coordination package but was quite involved and hands on with the vendors, so I think I could have gone with the day of coordination package. Holly was absolutely amazing! We thought planning a smaller wedding would be easy, but from the beginning we knew that we were in over our heads. We live in Texas and had our wedding in the San Diego Harbor on a boat. We had no idea who to call or choose for florist, photographer, caterer, transportation services, hair and makeup stylist, guest gift baskets, music and what the best venues for dinners and activities would be. Holly did it All and somehow made it look easy. She listened to what we wanted and then got to work connecting us with fantastic vendors and securing all details as we went along with them. She literally handled every detail from beginning planning to the end of the wedding, even into the following day with transportation arrangement changes..... so MANY details that I wouldn't have known to give attention to or realized the importance of then. Now I do! Seamless! We credit Holly with making our wedding the best day ever!
Hiring Holly as your wedding coordinator is the BEST DECISION YOU CAN POSSIBLY MAKE FOR YOUR WEDDING! We chose a venue on our own that required a week of coordinator, and listed Holly as one of the options. We were skeptical that hiring a planner would be worth the money, but when we emailed her we were surprised to see there wasn't a huge price difference between partial planning (basically everything except choosing the venue) and the week of coordination. I was already a little overwhelmed by all the options just for choosing a venue and a few dress shops, so we decided to spend a little extra for the partial planning, and it's hands down the best decision (other than choosing the right husband haha) I made about our wedding. We did a zoom meeting to make sure we were the right fit of each other, and immediately I knew she was going to make our lives so much easier. She gave a short list of vendor options and coordinated with them. All of our vendors were absolute professionals and fantastic! I had no idea what I wanted for flowers, and she coordinated with the florist to give us exactly what we didn't even know we wanted... we got so many compliments on the arrangements! She coordinated everything with the venue, printed all the signs, did all the set up and tear down after the reception, and even delivered all the gifts and supplies to our room so we could continue on to the after party. My friends and family kept commenting through the whole process how relaxed I seemed (which trust me, is not my baseline), and I give Holly full credit for that. Do yourself a favor and hire her for your wedding, she is 100% worth it!
We were working with another wedding coordinator but we didn’t feel like being taken care of so we decided to work with Holly instead. It was the best decision ever made. We worked with her and could not recommend her more!
Holly was amazing, helpful, and supportive throughout this process, and she really held us together despite all of our stress! She was extremely detail-oriented and we could really depend on her to make sure everything was set and done. We had the best day and really owed so much of that to Holly. My husband and I got married in October of 2021 and we hired Holly Kalkin Weddings to be our wedding coordinator. We chose the month-of-planning package since we hired most of our vendors. Holly and her team were amazing at helping us out leading up to our big day! We worked closely with Christine who was fantastic! Christine took care of everything from the vendor coordination, to assisting with venue setup, and sticking to the pre-set schedule. Christine was a huge help and she definitely made us feel less stressed on our wedding day. Thank you Holly and Christine for making our wedding stress-free and run smooth!
My husband and I started working with Holly back in 2019 to plan what was supposed to be a 2020 wedding. From the beginning we knew we wanted a full service wedding planner - I've never had a wedding before, so I figured I didn't know what I didn't know. I wanted someone who could help me compare venues, caterers, etc, and actually know what they were looking at. When I interviewed wedding planners, what struck me about Holly was how specific she was in the services she provides. Some other planners seemed nice, but were very vague about what they actually did. Holly had a bullet point list of exactly what she would do for us throughout the entire planning process. I was sold!
Holly did an excellent job of helping us choose a venue, caterer, photographer, DJ - everything. She steered us away from some vendors that she'd had negative experiences with - another big reason I wanted to hire a wedding planner, for that insider knowledge. She negotiated all of the contracts, reminded me when payments were due, and kept us on budget. She would periodically check in with to-do items to keep us moving forward in the planning process without every overwhelming us. Then, COVID happened, and we had to postpone our wedding. Holly did all of the coordination needed to notify the vendors, and when it was time to reschedule, she checked everyone's schedules and sent me a list of dates that all of my original vendors (who still had my original deposits) were available. I'm sure it was a lot of work on Holly's part to do all of this, but she made it seem easy.
The weeks leading up to the wedding Holly took care of absolutely everything except getting my dress hemmed! The day of went off without a single hitch. We stayed on schedule and everything was just perfect, all of which I attribute to Holly's excellent planning skills. We are so glad that we chose to work with Holly!
I want to thank Holly for making a perfect day for me and Tyler! From the beginning she was THE most calming presence for a bride who was riddled with anxiety on how to pull together a wedding in the midst of COVID.
After meeting with her on our initial consultation, I chose the month-of package. Even before the month-of, however, she kept in touch, answered any questions I had, and came to a couple of my vendor meetings. During the meetings, she had answers to everything, even questions I had no idea were even going to be asked. Whenever I would throw a panicked look at Holly, she would explain it and immediately come up with solutions.
It really says something when you talk with you vendors, 99% of them have worked with her before, and all of them wave a hand and say "Oh you have Holly? You don't have to worry about literally anything. You'll be great"
Besides being the best at coordination, her business also has a catalogue of gorgeous wedding decor to choose from so you have to spend exactly $0.00 of your own money on decorations you will never, ever use again. She even has her own graphic designer for place cards, which came out beautifully.
If you're thinking of getting a coordinator, you should. And if you decide on a coordinator, you should 100% no question choose Holly. She seriously saved me from so much anxiety--she's worth her weight in gold on her people-wrangling skills alone. Thank you Holly!
My wife and I worked with Holly as our month of coordinator for our wedding in Oct 2021. From the communication to the detailed schedule management, the wedding decorations on the day of, and so much more, Holly was able to manage our expectations as my wife and I did not know a lot of things going into the wedding. Holly also knew the venue we booked (Bali Hai) so she was able to help us answer our questions and guide us on how the wedding ceremony would be like all the way to the end of the night where she helped with cleanup. Holly painted a very clear picture for us! And during the rehearsal the day before the wedding, with her walking us through the process and going over every little detail with us, our bridal party and parents, and our officiant, she helped ease our nerves for the day of!
Holly was incredibly professional throughout the entire process, she was very open to all of our crazy ideas we wanted to put into the wedding and helped execute them to such a higher standard than what we were expecting.
You will NOT regret booking Holly as your wedding coordinator! Holly even has her own inventory of wedding decorations that can really save you lots of headaches, time, and some dollars! All of her decorations really brightened the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception for our guests, every little detail added up and we're so thankful to her for and her assistant Rebecca for helping set up everything!
On our wedding day, as most couples are I am sure, we were crazy busy with preparations, makeup, photos, and more so having Holly and her wonderful assistant Rebecca there to set up the venue and organize all of our various vendor communications, put out our wedding favors, set the decorations, and prepare our ceremony (sand and tea) requirements was an absolute delight and really saved us so much stress and time.
Holly and her team member Kimmy were even able to help us print our seating charts and wedding programs that they helped us design to match our wedding colors which turned out as beautiful as the rest of the amazing decorations!

We met Holly almost two years ago, and we are so lucky we had Holly to guide us through planning a wedding during the pandemic. First and foremost, Holly had the most amazing connections within the wedding industry, across all price points. We were confident in our vendors' work because Holly had worked with them countless times. Additionally, Holly is such a caring and thoughtful person. It is no wonder that all of her preferred vendors have the same commitment to making a wedding special.
Wedding day: Wow, Holly and her team are PHENOMENAL!!! The whole day went without a hiccup. As the wedding couple, we got to enjoy every moment of our day while Holly was working tirelessly behind the scenes. It was especially impressive because we added so many decorations and small details to our venue, and Holly's team perfectly put our vision on display.

Holly was the comforting, caring, and responsive partner that we needed while planning our wedding from Canada during COVID-19. Upon engaging with Holly, we never could have foreseen being unable to visit our venue until weeks before the wedding. She remained calm, cool, and collected and truly made us feel as though the wedding of our dreams was still possible - and it was! It went off beautifully; through all the changes and challenges. We also loved each of the vendors that Holly recommended, and it was very helpful that they had worked together previously. Holly and Kriselle were the best! They helped me create the day of time line and kept in great contact with me and the other vendors. It's hard for me to let go of the reigns, but after exchanging all of the decor Kriselle made that easy! Her and her team set up everything for our wedding just as I envisioned; it looked perfect! She kept us on track through out our wedding with out making us feel rushed or overwhelmed. Kriselle even made sure to extend our shuttle to get the last few guests home. I would recommend this team to anyone!
If you are getting married, you need to hire Holly and her team. I got married in San Diego and found Holly off of my vendor's list as well as on the Knot. During the planning process, every vendor that found out I had Holly as the planner held her in high regard and would say not only was she great, but I was lucky to have her. When COVID changed some aspects of the wedding, her recommendations for new vendors were spot on and she had already checked to see if they were available. On the day of the wedding, Holly and her team made everything go so seamlessly. Holly is truly amazing!
We hired Holly's full service wedding planning, and it was the BEST decision ever. She is the sweetest soul to work with! The full service planning was great as she was always willing to answer questions via email/text/calls and was super helpful during meetings with so many of our vendors. We got married during covid, and our plans had to be changed. Holly was able to pivot gracefully and quickly gave us options for a plan B. I can't emphasize enough how helpful that was in lessening the stress!!! On the day of the wedding, everything came out so beautifully, and we were able to fully enjoy our day and be present in the moment without worrying about any small details. Highly recommend working with Holly!!!
We got married in Phoenix and Barb was our month-of coordinator. My husband and I both adored Barb and I couldn't imagine having done it without her. It was amazingly helpful to have someone do coordination without planning as we had gotten through the bulk of the planning ourselves, but we really needed someone to pull it all together and Barb and her team were so professional and made our day stress-free and super fun. They even have a portfolio of extra decor items that you can use, which was very helpful! Highly recommend!
Holly made our lives so much easier! We booked Holly as our month-of coordinator for our wedding in mid-March. She was a superstar! We planned our San Diego wedding from our home in Australia, and Holly was kept us super organized leading up to the day, which took a lot of stress off of us. She is super easy to communicate with and a really lovely person in general. I would highly recommend her!

Holly was an amazing wedding coordinator and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She is knowledgeable, organized, friendly and has a calming demeanor. Holly was a blessing that came from an excellent referral from our DJ! We were very late to the coordinating game, but Holly jumped right on everything and took care of us. We were so nerve-wracked about planning a wedding from afar and getting all of the details right. Our venue’s director was let go the day that I flew in to do our walk-thru and Holly didn’t skip a beat and handled all the details anyway! She was so sweet and listened to all my wants and ideas and calmed all my worries away. She made sure I knew what I should ask for and gave me so many pro-tips I never would have thought of on my own and didn’t read anywhere online. Even though she was not going to be the one coordinating our wedding on the day-of, I was 1000% confident in her professionalism and care and trusted who she trusted. I'm also soo glad we went with their rental package, all of the little details and signs she provided went a loooong way. I had no idea how much I would have had to spend to get all of those little cute details another route!
Kriselle coordinated our wedding and was so amazing in so many ways. She wasted zero minutes and got everything done, pulled me away minimally and executed all of the décor flawlessly. She showed up on time and got to work and made everything so, so easy for us. We cannot thank you two enough for your dedication and for making our day so special and beautiful!
We used Holly Kalkin Weddings for our day of coordinator, and Rebecca Podmenik was our specific coordinator for the day. We worked with Holly throughout most of the process, and then with Rebecca for the big day. We can not say enough positive things about working with both Holly and Rebecca! They are both incredible! Holly provided very detailed and helpful checklists and referrals, and was always available to help with any questions I had during the process. She has such a warm and positive personality, and is an absolute joy to work with! Rebecca was a super-star for the day of coordination. SO many of my family members and friends came up to me to tell me what an awesome job Rebecca was doing. She was calm, poised, professional, kind, organized, positive, and super supportive. Holly was without a doubt theeee best wedding coordinator out there. Without her my day easily could have been chaos. Holly went above and beyond with helping not only coordinate the vendors but she was helping set up. She is the sweetest person to work with and working with a wedding party of 26 she was calm at all times! Her communication is on point and always responded in a timely fashion. Even though she was hired for a day of coordinator she helped with recommendations throughout the process. My day was a dream and so seamless thanks to Holly. We absolutely loved working with Holly!!! We met at a meet and greet at our venue and from the beginning she was so kind, engaging and professional. She had our backs from the very beginning, fielding questions about florists, giving us reviews on other vendors and overall just calming any stress we had. Her, patient, clam demeanor and kindness was exactly what we needed on the day, and we could trust everything was in very good hands. Holly was the "week of" coordinator for our wedding in San Diego in early September, 2019. Holly did a phenomenal job and our wedding would not have run as smoothly as it did without her help!
Ours was an Indian wedding, which tend to be more complicated than conventional American weddings. There are more vendors involved, the ceremony is longer, the ceremony and reception are separated by a few hours, and there's just generally a lot of moving pieces. Holly effortlessly coordinated all the different vendors on the day of the wedding, handled a lot of vendor communication for us in the weeks leading up to the wedding, provided us with a wealth of expertise on various topics and decisions that we had to make, and kept everything running on schedule. She handled some of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception setup herself (putting out wedding favors, setting up seating chart, assembling décor, etc.) and efficiently helped us with various little odds and ends that popped up during the wedding day. Everything ran smoothly without any hiccups in large part due to her. I would highly recommend Holly to anybody looking for a wedding coordinator for all types of weddings!
We highly recommend Holly for wedding planning services. She was wonderful to work with, well organized, and a very calming presence. We worked with her a month out to build an itinerary, confirm details with our vendors and field questions. Her experience was incredibly helpful as we finalized plans and organized the wedding day. She was great to bounce questions and ideas off of. She was also a huge help on the wedding day, everything from working with the venue and vendors to assisting our guests. Holly was incredible. We hired her as a "day of" coordinator, but she was so much more than that. She met with me months in advance and made sure that I had all of my ducks in a row (which I didn't but after that meeting sure did! haha), and was responsive and helpful with any and all planning glitches along the way. We did a very DIY style reception at a private property, so there was a lot to coordinate to say the least. She handled it with grace and poise. I never worried whether things were on schedule or being done, and I was sound in feeling that way. She had it covered. HIGHLY recommend Holly as a wedding coordinator / planner!!
I can't say enough about the Holly Kalkin Weddings team! We used them as our Day of Coordinator for our May 4th Phoenix wedding. From my initial phone call with Holly to the end of our wedding reception with Barb, the experience was everything a bride and groom could hope for! I felt comfortable from the start and knew they understood what our needs and wants would be. Not only were they quick to respond to questions and emails, but Barb was on top of things that we didn't even think of at our venue. My fiancé was actively in touch with Barb the whole week leading up to the wedding day and she worked with him and our vendors when last minute issues arose, which was no easy task. I will say together they made this bride stress free! Barb made everyone in our family and wedding party feel so comfortable and helped us have a truly perfect wedding day!
We could not imagine our day without Holly! She somehow managed SO many things during our wedding but not once looked stressed or rushed. From our rehearsal to the last minute of our reception, Holly was smiling, sweet, and totally calm (which was the exact balance I needed!). Holly and her team worked absolute wonders to make our wedding our dream at The Prado in Balboa Park! We did the month of package and Holly went above and beyond for us. My fiance and I live out of state (2,800 miles away to be exact!) so we were worried that we wouldn't have the contacts and communication we'd need prior to our big day. We couldn't have been more wrong. I first spoke to Holly about 8 months away from our wedding day and she put me at ease! She is calm and collected (what every bride needs more of!). Holly provided me vendor recommendations, tips, and tricks throughout our whole planning process. A month away from our wedding she completley took over the coordination for us by getting in touch with all of our vendors and making sure our timeline was just right. Holly coordinated our rehearsal and was timely and prepared. The day of our wedding Holly and her team set up our venue together and did an absolutely beautiful job. It rained on our wedding day of course...but it wasn't a problem. Holly picked up clear umbrellas for us the day of that we used for our outdoor ceremony and for pictures afterwards. She made sure we had appetizers and drinks in hand right after we said "I do"! Holly kept us on our timeline and allowed us to enjoy our whole wedding night without a worry in the world. At the end of the night she and her team had packed up all our belongings into organized boxes so quickly so that we could take them back with us. I am so happy we decided to not only have a coordinator for our wedding but to have Holly as our coordinator. We consider her a friend and someone to stay in touch with forever! We are so happy we chose Holly as our wedding planner! Our wedding venue was in a different location from our reception venue, so in addition to handling set up and break down she also helped manage our shuttles from the locations. We also had our exit planned on a gondola which she helped execute. Everything went off without a hitch! It was a lifesaver (and grey-hair saver) to have Holly as our wedding planner/consultant. She also has a lovely calming presence where you feel like you are in good hands and she executed flawlessly and from the looks of it, effortlessly.
My mom and I are definitely on the more detail-oriented side so as you can imagine, leading up to the big day I had a lot of questions. It was a stress-free planning process with Holly as she answered every one of my tedious questions quickly and thoughtfully. She did a nice job keeping both my mom and I in the loop as we would often tag team with all of questions. Holly is a true consultant, offering guidance when we felt stuck and asking us questions that we hadn’t thought about or knew to ask while planning. We purchased the month of vs day of services, which we would do again in a heartbeat. One huge bonus of this was we were able to use Holly’s gold chargers at no cost while rental companies are quite expensive. Whether it be an intimate or grand event, a guest list the size of a doubles tennis team to the population of a small island or 2... YOU NEED HOLLY. The journey of planning our wedding started off as overwhelming, stressful and crazy until I found Holly Kalkin Weddings. At first, I was not inclined to hire a coordinator because I didn't think it would be worth it for our small wedding. I could not have been more wrong and I'm so glad I changed my mind. From the first meeting 10 months before our wedding, I instantly felt relaxed and more confident about our day. She listened to our vision, expertly reminded us of things we didn't think about, generously provided so much support, and invariably responded to our questions. Where do I find that? Will I need to run around and do this? Holly gave pro tips on how to navigate all the paperwork and assured me every step of the way that she would take care of our day. Part of the contract included unlimited communication with her, so that was already the biggest sigh of relief for me! Because along the way, I needed suggestions left and right for dress alterations, audio equipment, and other vendors. Sure enough Holly had a complete and thorough list of vendors she and her team have worked with and recommend. Even when my last minute flowers order from Plan A store did not pull through, she had a Plan B and C ready at the wings. Holly was my day of coordinator and she was amazing! I got married this past July at the San Diego Safari park and had to plan everything from London. The park provided a coordinator, but I needed someone to look after all the small day of details that really make or break the event. I'm so glad I found Holly! She worked with the florist, park coordinator, and photographer seamlessly! She had a wonderful energy and was so accommodating and lovely. She even arranged to get all the beautiful custom-made wooden centerpiece boxes back to the florist the next day for us. Holly is so great - I HIGHLY recommend!

She is very sweet, calm, organized, and knowledgeable about the wedding process. I knew having a Day of Coordinator was a must have for me from the beginning. I had booked and planned most of our wedding, it was just a matter of getting it all to run smoothly the day of. That was one thing I didn’t want to worry about, especially knowing how easily stressed out I get about details. Holly was very responsive to my e-mails, and we first met with Rebecca around 10 months out to hash out what I had planned so far.
When it came to around a week out, Holly e-mailed me a tentative timeline, and once I gave the OK, she sent it out to all our vendors for me. There was a minor hiccup that she was immediately responsive to, which ended up being smoothed out on its own, and I’m eternally grateful that I had Holly to reach out to. Rebecca ran our wedding rehearsal and we gave her all of our decorations, the wedding license, and other things that we needed to be set up during the reception. She was amazing and very responsive - we had a bridesmaid dress issue and she saved it with some safety pins! The reception was set up how I pictured it and everything was perfect. Towards the end of the night, she packed up the decorations and card box in my dad’s car so we didn’t have to worry about it.
All in all, Holly & Rebecca were amazing, and if you’re considering hiring them for your day of, do it. You won’t regret it!
Please STOP and pay attention to my comment. Your choice of a wedding coordinator will depend on it. Me and my husband hired Holly as my day of wedding coordinator one year before our wedding in La Jolla, Ca. We were planning our wedding from Minnesota which is about 2000 miles away. Let me start by saying I am a perfectionist, controller and not easily Wowed. Holly is AMAZING!! She gave me her vendor list which I used and I was able to consult with her and send her stuff via FedEx along the way. When I got close to the wedding I called her and talked her through my vision and she listened and sent me a itinerary and Holly did not miss 1 single detail. I knew I could trust her and would not have to worry about ANYTHING! I stayed at the Scripps Inn which was right across the street from where the ceremony and the Owner said she had NEVER seen a bride as relaxed as me the day of my wedding and I give the thanks to Holly as she did a Amazing job which gave me peace and comfort.
Holly was what wedding planning dreams are made of. When I was researching/interviewing wedding planners I knew with certainty she was the one I wanted to work with. She originally gave us one of her other girls but after a fate of luck she stepped up and said she would be our planner. She helped me organize our processional song minute by minute was great with ideas and suggestions and was 100% available to us from the minute we booked her. She made rehearsal run very smoothly and made us feel so much at ease. She stopped by to check on me and my husband (who was in a different room) during the getting ready phase and made sure everything was running on time and as planned. My husband and I both agree that we felt like we had no worries on the day of the wedding as she had everything handled, she even made sure we both had drinks in hand, which really helped! She was right on time for rehearsal and our wedding day and stayed until the very end, packed up our things, and texted us with where everything was. She was in constant contact and we could not be more thankful. Our wedding was flawless and we truly have her to thank! Thank you Holly!!!
Holly, the owner, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She responded to emails in an extraordinarily timely manner and I had no doubt she had everything under control. She is very sweet and professional, she can spot a bride she's meeting with from 50 feet away. Our personal coordinator, Rebecca, was a bit removed from the planning process. A vast majority of pre-wedding communication was with Holly. However, Rebecca did a great job on the wedding. day. She was flexible with a change in reception location, a rehearsal on a few days notice, and coordinating all of the details. Seeing how well they handled the process and calmed me down when I was stressed made me fall in love with the process even more. Our wedding day was perfect and I knew that with Holly and her team, I wouldn't have to worry about anything. I was given details about how the day would go and why changes were made. Highly recommended.
All I can say is AMAZING. Holly and Robyn helped me keep the Big Day and all vendors super organized and on time for everything. They made sure my wedding party had everything we needed while getting ready, kept our guests organized, made sure the Groom and I were fed, got the photos we wanted, and even helped us load the car at the end of the night. Holly made our wedding so easy and and wonderful! I did not have to worry about anything - which is saying a lot because I am a worrier! She has to be one of the kindest and thoughtful wedding planners out there. We hired her for day of coordinating, but she was available throughout the planning if I had any questions and was able to wrangle my big, crazy family perfectly during the rehearsal, wedding, and reception. Something I also noticed, is anytime I mentioned that she was my coordinator to other vendors, they all would say the same thing, "Oh great! Holly is awesome - everything will be taken care of", and they were not wrong. This says a lot. THANK GOODNESS for Holly. When our venue insisted we had to have a same day wedding coordinator, we were initially resistant because we were trying to save money. However, when the day before the big day actually came around and Holly showed up to our rehearsal, I realized just how lucky we were that we had her with us. Holly’s calm, kind, and thoughtful presence ran the show so that I could focus on being with my loved ones. She checked with me for anything important, and made the zillions of small issues that pop up just disappear. She got all our ceremony flowers trimmed and into the reception vases, set up all the reception centerpieces, our placecards, front room table, and made sure everything was perfect. She then got it all deconstructed and packed it away for us afterwards so the venue wouldn’t charge us for keeping it there overnight. She collected all our gifts and got them into our room for us, and kept everthing running smoothly and on time through the whole night. She communicated with all our vendors effectively, keeping everyone on the same page. I had no idea how hugely stressful the day of the wedding would be, and I honestly can’t imagine having done it without Holly (our original plan! We were so naïve!). Every penny spent to pay for Holly’s time there was worth it and waaaaay more critical to the success of the day than so many other expenses. Holly, please know how grateful we are to you for making our wedding day run as smoothly as you did, and for your elegance, kindness, and warmth as you did it.

Holly was our wedding coordinator for our recent La Jolla wedding. From day one Holly was organized, flexible, and thoughtful. Since we are based in the Bay Area, it was very important to find a wedding coordinator that was very communicative and accessible. We were so glad we found Holly because she is easy to work with.
Holly was helpful in working with us to figure out the ceremony and overall event flow. Holly led the wedding rehearsal and made everything feel easy! We handed off a bunch of items (place cards, photo frames, decor, etc.) that we wanted set up for the wedding and by the time we showed up, Holly had set up everything exactly as we had imagined. The wedding itself went off without any problems, or if there were any problems, we didn't know about them because Holly took care of them.

First thing to note is that Holly was definitely the BEST investment we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. When we hired her as a day of coordinator, we knew she would be helpful on our day, but we had no idea just how amazing she was until the weeks leading up to our wedding. We seriously cannot say enough about her.
She is organized, efficient, task and detail oriented, and so incredibly sweet. There are so many details we didn't think about during our initial planning and we dont know how we would have made it through the final week without her. She sent out a comprehensive, detailed itinerary out to all our vendors a week ahead of the wedding and from that moment on she was the primary point of contact going forward. This was huge for my husband and I as we were busy the entire week visiting with family and friends and had ZERO time to stay directly connected with our vendors. Holly allowed us to ENJOY our day.
I can also say that our day remained ON schedule and I worried about NOTHING the entire time. Both my mother and myself are A-type and natural worriers -- once we met with holly the first time, we knew we had nothing to worry about. She even went as far as to help up bring back equipment so that we wouldn't get charged and added the sweetest little details to our sweetheart table bringing our overall vision to life. If we had to do it all again, there is no amount we wouldn't spend to have Holly as our right hand gal throughout the process. We highly recommend her loyal and dedicated services.
